71  Polymer clay Christmas earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by fluffypants on: December 08, 2009 08:35:18 PM
A few of my latest crafty creations! I have far too much fun making cute little things. The pics are a little dark, unfortunately. Sad I think the reindeer are my favourites!

I made some little holly leaves & berries as well, but haven't managed to get a good pic yet. Sad

72  Lucille Ball in black and white in Halloween Costumes by fluffypants on: November 01, 2009 09:17:43 PM
I've always wanted to do an entire stage production in black and white, especially since seeing Pleasantville. I decided that my Halloween costume would suffice, and suggested that my boyfriend and I should be Lucy & Ricky for Halloween. He couldn't make it up this year though (long distance relationship Sad) so I went solo as Lucy.

By the time these pics were taken, my makeup had begun to wear off a bit, but it's the basic idea. I can't believe I actually dyed my hair black for this! I'm beginning to wonder if it was a mistake, haha. First time ever dying my hair... usually it's a light/medium brown.

My mom and aunt helped me make the dress, I made the earrings and did my hair and makeup. The arm coverings were made from tights (I wanted lighter but this was the only shade gray they had)... and the gloves, belt, purse and shoes (which aren't visible except very slightly in one pic) were thrifted.

(basically only posting that for the visible shoe. Wink)

Sans gloves, at work, with Dexter the Pirate Dog. Hard to work with those gloves on, especially when they're too small for your hands! (This and the next shot were taken when I first dressed up on Friday and used a video tut for the hair, which failed miserably. My hair was way too thick and I had to half-arse it at the last minute by shoving as many combs and bobby pins into it as I could).

Playing the role of the housewife, also sans gloves. Mmmm, apple danish and homemade marshmallows, with a generous helping of chocolate bars and gummy candies! Eat up, kids! (Is it weird that our office is above a dentist? Wink)

And a closeup from when I got home on Saturday night, after a fundraising party where I got hit on by a 60 year old man who had just been humping a Wheaties box, as well as by a guy who told me he thought I looked drunk and easy, which was a feat, considering I'm a virgin who doesn't drink, hahaha. He then proceeded to tell me he was "in pretty good shape" and gave me his business card, what a winner!

*cough* So anyway, hope you enjoyed my little rambles along with the pics. C&C are always appreciated! Smiley

73  Beatles Yellow Submarine shoes - 9 pics in Shoes: Completed Projects by fluffypants on: September 19, 2009 09:57:44 PM
I made these totally sweet shoes (sorry, had to toot my own horn for a minute Smiley) for my partner, hippiejo76, in the Beatles swap. I fell in love with them and even tried to fit my feet into them (despite being two sizes to small they were just a little too tight....) then realized I knew she would love them and sent them on their way. Smiley I'm glad they found a loving home! Now I just have to make more. Wink

Thanks for looking! Smiley

74  Re: Beatles Mania Round 2 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by fluffypants on: September 08, 2009 07:32:18 PM
I received from hippiejo74 today! Smiley I swear when the post office sees something marked fragile, they bash the box against every conceivable surface. It was pretty dinged up, but luckily everything survived the trip!

First up is this cute box, unfortunately the lid is stuck and it won't open, even tried jimmying it with my keys. Sad

Next up are these adorable earrings:

Then this fab painting:

And some delicious smelling soap!

She also included a couple ends from some Beatles fabric for me, probably because I believe I mentioned trolling every Wal Mart on a road trip and never finding it!

I think they may turn into a Christmas stocking......

Thanks for everything, hippiejo74!

75  Re: EVERYTHING TO DO WITH MARIO BROS GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by fluffypants on: September 03, 2009 03:24:05 PM
Everything looks so fantastic! I'm getting a little anxiety, but probably only because Canada Post says my parcel was out for delivery to my partner today! Cheesy

In other news, HOKEY SMOKES, I just got *the* best package ever from Kelly/thepainfultruth. Holy cow! She totally spoiled me, but I'm not complaining too much because I adore everything! Luigi fans, prepare your wists!

Adorable magnets- now all I need is a magnetic surface in my room!

An amazing notebook which is so going on my desk at work! (Front and back)

I was just bemoaning the fact that I had no change purse the other day- and then along comes this cutie!

Fantastic his and hers keychains for my boyfriend and I, who bonded over our love of Luigi, hehehe....

And last but not least- the first thing I pulled out of the box, which gave me a huge smile and possibly made me "squee!" out loud... I had no witnesses, but I'm pretty sure I did....

Isn't he just perfect?! Oh gosh, he's so adorable. He's getting a place of honour next to my Luigi bank on my dresser as soon as I make space. Cheesy (Please disregard the dead flowers... the boyfriend got them for me almost two weeks ago and I could only just bear to throw them out tonight... such is the silliness of long distance relationships! Wink)

Thank you SO much Kelly, you rock!

76  You've Got the Touch! -Transformers stenciled tee in Stenciling: Completed Projects by fluffypants on: July 11, 2009 04:18:30 PM
A friend commissioned this from me, and hokey smokes, at first I wondered what I had gotten myself into... but I was so pleased with the result in the end that it was all worthwhile! She found a shirt with this design online, but rather than buy it for her boyfriend, decided to ask me to recreate it. They must have been out of stock or something.... in any case, I present the most ridiculous stencil I've taken on to date!

It's a mix of fabric painting, freezer paper stenciling, and freehand painting. I'm pleased as punch with it, even though I know nothing about Transformers... just that the line is from the theme song. Wink

The only thing I'm not happy with is the amps ... the blue circles on them were done in fabric paint, and they're a bit wonky. I  mean, hey, I was zonked by the time I put the finishing touches on this thing, but I'm still my worst critic!

77  Re: I Love Musicals Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by fluffypants on: July 07, 2009 08:47:59 PM
Wahooooooo! Prepare to be stupefied- I have received the most fantastic package from sallyb! I am so happy with every last bit of it. My mom even cried after I opened it, she was so touched that someone would put so much care into swap items, hehe.. mom's a softie.

First up, all the goodies!! Chocolate, chocolate, MORE CHOCOLATE! Also, vegemite, some really cool booklets about places in Australia, and a few neat-o magazines!

Next up, the great My Fair Lady magnets, including little magnet paper dolls! So adorable!

Up next, the absolutely adorable Fiddler on the Roof bag (I love the Tevye applique!) and a sneak peek at the large item in the background... Wink Forgot to get a shot of the great vintage bed sheet lining of this pouch- will have to do that soon!

Isn't he the most adorable thing ever?!

And finally, the piece de resistance... the most amazing technicolor hoodie the world has ever seen! My gosh, when I think of the hours that must have gone into this, I believe I was truly blessed with Sally as my swap partner! I love this shirt to pieces, and have already worn it out and about tonight. Cheesy

And of course, I've had the songs stuck in my head all day... which led to this. Wink

Yay for late night 5 minute photoshop jobs! Wink

And one last one of JUST HOW EXCITED I am!

Thanks again Sally, I adore everything! And thanks heaps to kaishabackwards for taking my dream of a musical swap and making it a reality for the lot of us!! Smiley

Now I can sing every time I wear the hoodie...... I look handsome, I look smart, I am a walking work of art...!

Which was followed by this one...

And that's about where I started going crazy, and made all of these:

(NES undies, just trying out the stencil- didn't want to use up a shirt, haha)

Couple detail shots:

And the happy crafter:

And the happy boyfriend:

And that's been my past 2 days in a nutshell! Comments appreciated muchly. Cheesy

80  Weird, wacky, and a whole lotta nerdy earrings (7 smallish pics) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by fluffypants on: April 21, 2009 07:10:42 AM
So the other day I picked up my polymer clay and wondered why I have so much... I decided it was time to start making things again! It led to a few hours full of nerdiness, but now I've got some awesome new earrings to show off. I love new earrings! Smiley

I'm wearing these little Hitchhiker's Guide dudes today:

My boyfriend suggested he might take me to a Cubs game when I go visit him, so naturally I gotta go in style. Wink Not crazy about how these turned out; they were the first of the night and I hadn't worked with clay in months!

Oldschool geekery

Mmm, lemon cake... only my second attempt at cake... it looked nicer before I cut it up

What I did with the extra lemon slices:

Who didn't love ViewMaster as a kid? Smiley (or as an adult, for that matter...)

These Tetris earrings are so ridiculously huge and klunky, I love 'em! Hard to tell scale from a pic, though, isn't it. I'll have to get an action shot later...

Thanks for looking! Smiley  Suggestions for more nerdy earrings are much appreciated! Wink

Edited to add an "action shot" of the Tetris earrings for scale:

Big n' clunky! Love 'em! Wink
