I sort of have a thing for paper toys like airplanes, jumping jacks, "cootie catchers" from grade school, and paper dolls. (Especially if those dolls are animals, or monsters, or just plain weird.) Alpha Stamps
has two really wonderful collage sheets featuring Louis Wain's anthropomorphic cats that you can dress and accessorize! Did I mention that they are also story book themed? The collage sheet I used has kitties from the stories of Aladdin, the Princess, and Magician
, Robin Hood
, and Cinderella
. As soon as the collage sheet was delivered to my door, I cut out all the pieces and clothed the cats. And then played with them of course.
At about this same time, I had also asked Patraw
if he would be interested in a personal swap of an ATC, and it only made sense for me to send a toy-related card. So, long story short, I made an ATC sized book with three envelopes inside that hold the paper doll felines, one for each story, and also included two reversible, removable backgrounds. Blah, blah, blah, here are the pictures:
To make the book easy to mail, connected the head of the kitty on the front with a brad so it would swivel inside the cover and added a ribbon to tie it closed.
Thanks for the swap, Patraw! My new ATCs from you
