552  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / What can a 9 yo make for Grandparents? on: November 30, 2009 07:56:07 PM
We are doing a completely homemade christmas.  All the gifts that are being given, are things that we can make.  Ex, quilt for my mom.  PJs for neices, nephews.....

I'm having a hard time trying to think of things my 9 year old daughter can make for my dad....and neat ideas?

Thanks Smiley

The hair for both was just yarn that I purchased at the dollar store.  I do the crochet cap, and then tie all the yarn on.

Hi ladies.  Its been nearly a year since I posted.  Embarrassed  Been tons of stuff going on.  Just recently, thyroid surgery, and now tore a bunch of ligaments off my ankle.  Needless to say, not a lot of time to craft.  Hoping that this is the start of coming back to it.

My newest edition, poppets 3+4.  My daughter asked me to make a poppet for her friends birthday on saturday.  So I willingly obliged.  Then my daughter asked me to make one for her own birthday which is thursday.  So, I made two poppets this past weekend.  Both girls will be 9.

Natalie, and Punk (no name yet) Poppet.

And here is their own post.  Let me know what you think.

Alright, so its been nearly a year since I posted.  Been a ton of stuff happening, and no time to craft Sad  But I'm happy to say, I'm back at it.

Sooo, my daughter asked for me to make a poppet for her friends birthday.  She wanted a really girly one.  She has since named her Natalie, and she goes to her new home on saturday.

Bits and Parts

Put together

Hair added

Pretty Dress

And with optional removable wings

The wings have a clip on them, and came from Dollarama.

And once Natalie was completed, my daughter decided that she wanted one for her birthday as well.  But she wanted hers to be punky.  She hasn't been seen by my daughter yet, so she doesn't have a name.  Here she is.....

Naked shot of course.

Purple hair with green highlights

Showing off her glow in the dark Halloween dress

And removable wings

And of course, I had to get a picture of them playing before the girls get them for their birthdays.  (the friends party is on saturday, and my daughter will be 9 on thursday).

Even better, I made both poppets this past weekend.   Hope you like them!   Funny how even with the same pattern, they have such different personalities.
557  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Dog sweater recon on: October 13, 2009 01:51:59 PM
Hi all, haven't posted for a very very long time.  But finally back at it.

So, one of our dogs in a mini dach, and his sweater from last winter when he was a puppy, no longer fits.....so, I used the arm holes, and neck to remake one that does fit.

The sweater in the middle of cutting.

Hoping it will fit....since I didn't use a pattern.

And finally a warm weiner dog.

Hope you like....he sure does....lol

559  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Baby Set on: March 03, 2009 08:16:51 PM
Thanks!  My daughter seems to think she should keep the items for her baby, rather than give it away.  But I have enough yarn to make another set.  And yes, its extremely soft.

I wasn't sure if this is where I was suppose to post this project.  This is the first time that I've done the shell stitch other than the day that I learned how to do it.  I've made basic double crochet baby blankets, but never a set, or anything this elaborate.
I didn't use any patterns for anything that I made.  Just freehand.
Any comments / criticism welcome.

Some details of the blanket.

Hope you like them!!!
