1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: STS 2017 Discussion Thread on: April 20, 2017 02:48:22 PM
My shop is closed until after May 1st.  I'll pop in as I can and chat while we're on the road, maybe I'll post a teaser shot of what I'm working on, too Wink  Talk at y'all when I can!

I totally get you on shopping early for Christmas, Mlsocci74.  Even with no kids, I like to get little things thru the year.  Saves my time and sanity as the holidays get closer!  The Disney bobby pins and magnets I got from you are for a friend for Christmas, actually Smiley

Just a little over an hour left in my work day, then I'm out to wrap things up before we leave in a few more hours to get on the road!  So excited!  Got all my crafts together an in a bag last night.  Decided I would throw some TM stuff in there and see if I can't knock out a few more squares for stuff.  I looked at the previous ones I've done, and found I machine stitched the 3 pieces together, then hand-stitched the border and any embellishments.  This makes them feel much more sturdy than the one I did on the plane for my Colorado trip...can't really do that right now, though, so I'll have to extra-embellish so they stay together better.

Transferred some patterns to fabric for road trip embroidery last night!  I will have: a travel-trailer (aka 'camper'), a sheep, a tiny tulip, and a small bunch of strawberries if I get them all stitched up throughout the trip.  I also set up some sky blue linen with interfaced backing to sew up some button rainbow art to be mounted in 4x6 or 5x7 frames.  I'll add however many items I completed to my shop when I get back.

I also stashed out a couple embroidery transfer packets I'm not likely going to use, never opened.  And I pulled out my box of flower head wreaths and ribbon wands.

I'll photo and list items upon my return.  Tonight and thru tomorrow 4pm, Eastern, will be the last days my shop is open for the month of April...so if you're holding on claiming, get 'em in quick!  I'll be open again on May 1st Smiley
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Fill a Flat Rate Box Swap? on: April 18, 2017 06:06:21 AM
I used to run a fill a box swap for the small size Priority flat rate box (way back when, it used to be just under $5 to ship...now it's $7.15 on the USPS website  Undecided ) and would be interested in running another swap with a choice of all 3 sizes: small, medium, large.

Swappers would be matched up accordingly, smalls with smalls, medium with medium, etc.

Boxes would be primarily supplies-oriented, can be small crafted items, too.

FOC would be allowed to send up to 3 boxes, non-FOC can sign up for 1 or 2.  Some of us have more ability to send to more than one person, so signing up for more than 1 box is not required but is an option!

This is kinda like a destash swap, except we all get boxes back...so...it's more like a trade-off, lol!

Prices are:  Small - $7.15, Medium - $13.60, Large - $18.85
Priority Flat Rate boxes are only available at these prices for shipment within the US, so this would be a US-only swap.
Boxes can be picked up at your local post office, or can be ordered in 10-box bundles at a minimum for free shipment to your house.  Shipping labels can also be printed directly from the USPS website for each of these because they are one single price to anywhere in the US, no matter the weight (I think they have a 50lb max or something...but, how many of us can really fit THAT much in a box? LOL!).

Any interest in something like this??

I'm up for hosting after May 1st, as I'm out of town later this week and all of next week on a road trip with my fiance.

I'd be down for it, as long as it's open after I come back from my road trip.  So, after May 1st Smiley

I have shark teeth I collected myself many years back, most are wrapped into charms and ready to work into hemp jewelry or put on waxed cording.

2 days until our road trip!!  I'm so excited Cheesy  Just a couple things left to prep and we'll be ready for Thursday night to shove off.  Need to consolidate my supplies, heat transfer a couple designs to fabric for embroidery, and pull out my hoops.  I don't have the time to find and put together stuff for button art on the road right now, unless it's worked into some embroidery pieces, like a mixed media kind of thing.  I have TONS of patterns that I can transfer, so I'll pick a few nice ones to work on.

Thanks for the claim, kayrun!
And, as of right now, I don't have any button art pieces already made up in any form to offer just yet.  Maybe after our roadtrip, not sure what I may create while on the road.

calluna, yes, I do have some flower head wreaths already made up now that I think of it.  I also have some ribbon wands with 5yd of ribbon attached to each one. Ribbon wands look like this:

I'll see if I can get some photos and offer these up after we get back from the trip Smiley

TSM, love your headpiece and great to see you!

Bunny, adorable foxy bag. LOVE!

Always, cool boot holder.  Wish I could find a pair of tall boots that fit me.  Darn fat calves.

Nice to see you again as well!

I have larger calves, even after all my weight loss.  I'm able to find great stuff from Torrid and Avenue for wide calf boots.  Also, Payless had some nice boots this past season and last year as well that I picked up.  There's hope!  And at great prices, too, because I bought on sale or near end of season, I got all mine for around $20 or less per pair.  I have 4 pairs so far of tall boots!

EEK!  Road trip in 4 days!!  SOOOO excited!  This will be Bobby and mine's first vacation together, so we'll see if we wanna kill each other by the time it's over, lol!  I have to pull out crafts to take with me still, thinking buttons, embroidery, and TM squares are on the docket.

No claims yet from my shop, so I either need to adjust costs, or figure out some other things to add...
Road trip this coming week, so I have zero time to craft anything new to add right now Sad

I'll be closing my shop on Thursday after I get off work so I avoid issues with ship-out while I'm away for just over a week.  If you were holding on claiming from me, time's a wastin', LOL!

Thanks, Always and bunny Smiley  I always try to do an action shot for anything I make that seems 'questionable' for how it's worn or how it fits so someone has an idea.  And, I'm the selfie queen, lol!

Next up on wedding crafts is to decorate 2 plain grapevine wreaths I got from the Goodwill outlet store a couple weeks back.  Got them for like a dollar for the 2, so I said why not.

After that, I plan on making a vintage doily table runner like this:

Got a couple lots of vintage doilies on eBay, will stitch them together delicately and use this as a runner on the head table that all of the wedding party will be sitting at amongst other decor on top of it.
