Well, the dread tool is advertised on dreadhead HQ and being the cheapskate I am I went to see if I could get it on ebay which I found.
I just dont have a clue what to do with it now I have it. I did get some bamboo crochet hooks that havent come yet so If I try Irish chicky's method I might do alright.
I've also noticed that some people have had trouble dying dreaded hair. I've never had a problem with dying my dreads so I thought I should put a few tips to help people.
First of all you'll need two (possibly 3 if you're using the 88ml vegan dyes such as star gazer) dye packs. Dye just your roots first with the first pack. Then use the second pack to dye your dreads. The second pack should cover all your dreads with a lil left over to cover parts you might have missed.
Rinsing the dye can be a complete nightmare I've found it helps if you have a bath while the dye sets to work. Then when the time is up, completely submerge your hair in the bath water (you can do this completely clean bath water but I find that having a bath at the same time saves water.
You'll find that submerging your hair in the water cuts the rinsing time from maybe 45 mins down to 15.
