A long time ago I bought my then-boyfriend a Scarlet Begonias t-shirt (Grateful Dead ftw!). After we broke up we lost touch, and in recent conversations I found out that he wore the shirt to tatters and eventually framed it and hung it up. I'd like him to have something a little nicer than a grody old shirt to display in his new place, so I decided that an embroidery based on the shirt would be a cute idea.
The problem? This is the largest image of the shirt I can find:
Do you think I should keep rabidly googling until I find something better? Or should I attempt to redraw the girl? (The girl and the text are all that I'm doing.) That seems to be a simple solution, but I have the art skills of a 5 year old that can't hold a crayon.
Unrelated question: how do you separate strands of floss without making a huge tangled mess? I'm so terrible at this that I always end up using six strands.
Thanks in advance!
