I'm back!  Haven't been doing much crafting these past few months and unlikely to be doing much more in the near future, but let's see if I can add a few more before the semester ends...

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Detention - February
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Photo Backdrops / Roomboxes
Brief Description: My friend has been wanting better photo backdrops or roomboxes for her dolls for a while.  After experimenting with cereal boxes and other schemes we'd found online I finally settled on the simple trifold "science fair" boards.  Cut in half we could get two backdrops out of a single board.  It takes six sheets of scrapbook paper to cover and then you can use some extra "wood" scrapbook paper on the board not in use to do double duty as a floor.  Simple but effective!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Detention - March
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Purple Lati Green Dress
Brief Description: Just a doll dress that had been sitting around waiting for snaps...

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Detention
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Littlefee Posy Dress
Brief Description: This one took a while to finish up because I was searching for the perfect ribbon.

@moonflame - So many dolly projects!  Good job on the math for enlarging patterns!  I never find it as easy as I think it will be at the beginning.

@jellybean89 - I love all the flowers.  They're so bright and cheery!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Floo Powder - Bus Stop
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Ugly Sock # 1
Project Page Link): A Nice Ribbed Sock Pattern
Brief Description: I used to do most of my knitting in front of the television, but then I got rid of that device for a couple months and my knitting had be relegated to the in-between times when I'm waiting for other things to happen.  (My TV is back now but I haven't plugged it in, therefore knitting progress will continue to be slow).

I am having such a hard time shoe-horning my usual crafts into this semester's prompts, but I think I got a few figured out now.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Divination
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Patchwork Littlefee Dress
Brief Description: Quilts are physically comforting, feature repeating geometric patterns, and are often passed down within families.  The cheater print this dress is made from came from my great-aunt's stash.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Floo Powder - Jamaica
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Realfee Dresses
Brief Description: I find fabric a very relaxing medium to work with.  Maybe not as relaxing as yarn, but I could spend hours going through my stash of cottons looking for the perfect print to suit my mood.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Headmistress' Challenge - Slytherin's Locket
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Minty Scrap Dress for Lati Yellow
Brief Description: For the past year whenever I visit my 93 year old great-aunt she always gave me a fistful of fabric scraps to take with me.  On my last visit she took me up to her craft room (which I had never been in before) and told me to take what I wanted.  I took some yardage home with me, but my favorite finds are still the scraps.  I can only imagine what she made with some of the original fabrics.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Headmistress' Challenge - Dragon's Heartstrings
SPEW: Case for Smiles
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Kitty Case
Project Page Link: instructions
Brief Description: In order to make this case a little bit more special (I didn't think gray would really catch a kid's eye, but I couldn't find matching orange or mauve for the other cats on the main print) I used the decorative loop-de-loop stitches on my machine.  Remind me not to do that again.  They take forever and you have to be really careful that things don't shift around too much or you'll end up with a line of cursive "r".  But it all turned out cute in the end. {Inspired by the book Millions of Cats, a favorite book from my childhood which is slightly horrifying reading as an adult.}

~*COMPLETED OWL HEADER*~
OWL Subject & Option (if available): Defense Against Dark Arts (Option 2)
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Dean's Quilt
Project Page Link: Made using Obsessively Stitching's First Quilt Ever tutorial
Brief Description: Snape's patronus echoes the Potter family's in that it is a deer.  This quilt is for a quasi-cousin's new baby.  There were some health concerns for the baby at the beginning so he needed something with a little extra protection, and what better to represent it than the most famous of patronuses?  My cousin and I have fallen out of touch since high school, which made choosing fabric kind of a challenge.  I had to laugh and use the deer fabric because of an old discussion we'd had where she couldn't believe that deer season wasn't as big a deal among my college-town friends as it was in her rural Pennsylvania home.  Everything else kind of fell into place around that first choice.

One last project I forgot to include in my previous post:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Muggle Studies
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Pink & Silver Polka Dots
Brief Description: This project combines the muggle saying of "seeing the world through rose tinted glasses" and "finding a silver lining in every cloud" reminding us to always look on the bright side of life.

For those who haven't been with us for previous years, my usual modus operandi is to disappear for most of the month and then to pop in with a bunch of crafts for dolls.  This month is no exception.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Flying

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Magical Me Challenge
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Pussy Hat
Brief Description: Made to wear for a local rally.  I've got another one in the works for a friend, but it didn't get done in time for the event.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Study of Ancient Runes
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Minifee Sweater
Brief Description: Doll sweater to use up leftover sock yarn.  Always a lot of counting on the sleeves trying to get the sleeves to come out the same length.  I think it worked this time around.
