31  My Textured Tunic! in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogginette on: March 02, 2008 08:38:55 PM

The pattern is from Stephanie Japel's Fitted Knits. I read quite a bit about it before starting, I think there were a bunch of people who were disappointed with this pattern. I'm happy with how it turned out but I did make a few mods. Mostly: some waist shaping, ignoring the buttoned hip flaps and making the Box Stitch section shorter.

This is an easy, quick pattern, and it's not hard to customize to your own shape. (I'm by no means an expert). I would probably go a size up for the sleeves if I were to do this again... but other than that, I think I'll actually wear this!

32  VVEB - Very Very Easy Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by frogginette on: February 25, 2008 09:58:48 PM
I just had an urge to sew something uncomplicated this past week-end, and here's the result! The VVEB! (the tutorial for this has been floating around on a few French blogs -- I found mine at http://japancouture.canalblog.com/archives/2007/07/27/5735429.html)

I used some Michael Miller and Amy Butler remnant fabric and added an inside pocket, as well as a closure, and voila! Perfect to hold my current knitting WIP.

Here it is, open:

Basically you just pull on the drawstrings, and you get a bag!

This is my first time posting a completed project here, I just finished the Presto Chango baby sweater (pattern by Valerie Wallis) and here it is! Love the pattern, I recommend it highly.
