11  Nightie/dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frogginette on: March 19, 2009 07:34:01 AM
I wanted something bright and crisp for Spring, and this Kaffe Fassett fabric is so pretty, I just had to make something quick. So I improvised this nightie (too short for a dress I think). My man approves! What do you think?

12  Morning Kimono / Robe in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogginette on: March 18, 2009 01:19:03 PM
Hi everybody,

I was given a few skeins of Red Heart Light and Lofty and didn't know what to do with them, until I saw the Kimono Wrap in Glam Knits (Stefanie Japel). I thought that I could modify it to be a cozy robe, and voila, here is the result!

13  Retro skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frogginette on: February 15, 2009 05:44:33 PM

I made this skirt using a piece of wool fabric I got from a thrift store... The pattern is my own improvisation, and I'm really happy with it! The fit is a tad big, but I think it still works...
I really had fun with this project, for once, it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to Wink

14  Harvard Square Cap in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogginette on: February 13, 2009 11:36:16 AM

This is my first fair isle project, and I really had a blast with this technique! I'm looking forward to more challenging projects. The pattern is from the Winter 2008 Interweave Knits.

15  Short-rows cardi in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogginette on: February 04, 2009 12:02:18 PM

This cardi is so popular among French knitters, I've been drooling over it, going from blog to blog without being able to get my hands on the pattern (you have to purchase a book, which is only available in this famous French yarn store called "La Droguerie")

So... my only option was to reverse-engineer it from pics and tidbits of info I got from reading people's modifications etc...

I think it's pretty sweet... The buttons are covered with liberty fabric and the yarn is mohair.

16  Prairie Boots for my man in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogginette on: January 30, 2009 08:57:46 AM

This is a belated Christmas present... The pattern is Prairie Boots by Cocoknits, I made mine shorter and added some elastic inside so that they would stay on his feet...
The yarn I used is Knitpicks Cadena in Leaf and Mahogany.

More info on my blog!

17  Baby leather shoes in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by frogginette on: January 24, 2009 10:03:46 AM

I improvised these. I wanted to try sewing with leather, which turned out to be a breeze (I used a special "leather" needle on my sewing machine.) I think they turned out pretty cute! I was debating whether I should embellish them or add laces or something, but since I couldn't come up with any brilliant ideas, I decided to leave them alone for now -- Any suggestions are welcome, though!

18  My very own Hollywood glam top in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogginette on: January 12, 2009 07:51:09 AM
I was missing L.A. so in spite of the blistering cold here in DC, I came up with this retro little number:

It's my own design, and surprisingly enough, I'm happy with the result! I would probably make the top portion smaller next time, but other than that it turned out exactly how I envisioned it.

Any comments are welcome! I'd love to know what you think, it's always hard to judge your own design.

More info and pics on my blog.

19  Lush and Lacy cardigan in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogginette on: January 04, 2009 10:39:43 AM

I've just finished my Lush and Lacy cardigan (SweaterBabe pattern)! I'm excited about it, I think my mods worked well (I went with a bigger size and made buttonholes so that I could button it all the way down).

I would say this is a very good pattern to venture into lace work. It's very clearly written, too.
The yarn is Knitpicks Andean Silk in Slate.

To see pics of how it fits, check out my blog ( I don't want to overburden this post with pics)

20  Tunic-like dress from Japanese pattern book in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frogginette on: November 29, 2008 07:18:52 AM
Here's my first dress made from a japanese pattern book!
The fabric I got in Brussels, and the contrasting bias is vintage Liberty.

This is the book I got the pattern from:
