1221  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 36 Gallery on: August 06, 2008 07:28:15 PM
I received two wonderful swap packages from phoenixfiredesigns and ThreadOrYarn this week!

Phoenixfiredesigns made me one of her beautiful tree of life pendants. I love the garnet gemstones! I wore this to work on Monday and I got lots of compliments

And ThreadOrYarn sent me some awesome hand spun yarn. I don't have her letter in front of me, so I am not exactly sure what it is made of, but I love the colors and the cool bows incorporated in the balled yarn.

And as an extra bonus ThreadOrYarn included an awesome hat that is similar to one on my wist and a headband. I love the dark green color of the hat. It should keep me nice and warm this winter!!

Thank you so much!!!

P.S. I seem to have lost my photo taking mojo today, so if either of you have better pictures, please feel free to post them!!
1222  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Squashaloupe on: August 06, 2008 05:05:52 PM
Last year I had a squash cross pollinate with a cucumber plant that I planted too close together. It actually tasted really good!!

I am so glad that you like everything pinupmommy! It was so much fun making your things.

Thanks for the kind words on the stamp! I don't think I've ever been wisted before, that means a lot to me!!

1224  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Fill-A-Box Round 8!! (Closed 10:22 PM EST 7/31 - Sendouts 8/23) (US only) on: August 06, 2008 04:37:47 PM
My poor partners are going to have to wait a bit extra.   I am planning on indulging their fiber needs/wants ... but have to do some scouring first (don't want them to have to do it ... it can get kind of gross if you don't like the smell!) So receiving partners, please be patient, I promise it will be soooo worth it  Cool.  But I do have about 50 boxes if anyone needs them! ahahaha

I know fiber is light and fluffy ... me boxes will most likely be featherweights!  hehe

I can be very very patient when fiber goodness is on the line Cheesy

I love fall in Wisconsin, and I am going to miss it terribly when I move to Bangkok next spring where the temperature hardly ever drops below 80 and the humidity is 80% on the good days! Yikes, what am I getting myself into Huh  Tongue

I am counting down the hours until we get our partners!!!
1226  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Re: Boycott - Inspired Bus Stamp, and more! on: August 06, 2008 09:48:59 AM
Awesome! I like how crisp and clear the bus image is. I also really like the map lino-cut.

I just started carving rubber stamps and I just bought a lino-cut block printing kit. I was wondering which you prefered and the pros and cons of using one over the other.

Thanks!!
1227  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Crazy Quilt Book Cover on: August 06, 2008 09:40:27 AM
Holy cow! I couldn't imagine how much time and effort it would take to do a whole quilt using crazy quilting. My book cover took 4 hours to sew! Of course I was learning as I was going- so that slowed me down a bit. I would love to see how your quilt turns out when you finish it!

That is correct! Make sure the boxes you get say "flat rate box"

At some post offices you have to ask for the boxes, they don't have them sitting out- but they are free either way!
