Oh yes, the coffee beans bow tie is fun!!  Cheesy
But so is the Tardis, you have to be a Whovian to see what it is, I like that  Wink

Of course you can persuade some boy to wear them! These are fun and of course very cool!
I pinned the tutorial for future use. I happen to know a man who would want and wear one!  Smiley

Thanks again! The other side of the tardis tie is a little more obvious - I figure people can go for whichever side floats their boat! And the tutorial is pretty quick and easy, and only requires 1/4 yard of fabric, so easy on the wallet, too!

and here is a picture of (almost) all the others I have made - one with bicycles on it escaped the picture somehow . . . .

My hubby has claimed the coffee one, but the others will be headed to a local store! I figure if they don't sell, I know lots of guys who might be persuaded to wear a funky bow tie at some point!  Grin

So my hubby and I went to a Derby Day party yesterday, and the hubster decided he needed a bow tie. What's a girl to do other than make one (or several)?

Here is the one he wore to the party:

And here is the other one I made, 'cuz if you're cutting fabric anyway, might as well make two, right?

This picture was taken before we figured out how to tighten the knot properly . . .

I then made three more, because they are fun and easy - a Star Wars one, a Batman one and a Dr. Who (of course!). I don't have pics of them now, but they are cool and quirky and really fun to make! I have about 7 others cut out and waiting to be sewn up . . . . I'm on a roll!

here is where I found the pattern:

OMG I need to try something like this! I just taught myself to crochet this year, and I haven't made any clothing yet - this seems like a good place to start! Thanks for the inspiration!  Grin Grin

Wow. I've never tried paper piecing - it seems pretty intimidating to me! Great job on your first attempt - it looks fantastic!
