11  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: turtle and owlies- amigurumi style on: January 28, 2008 12:18:00 PM
Shoot... here I am trying to make a turtle at the top of my head without any finished references to look at...

And I finally find a reference and have figured out how I can make one...

I thank you for showing us all your adorable creations!! I own a box turtle (she's HUGE!! bigger than both my fists put together!) and yours is soooo cute compared to my real one!

It reminds me of those hats from that television show they aired a long time ago... I think it was called Double Dare or something...

Cute hat, btw~! I think I may try that after I finish these few projects (if my friends stop making babies, that is)
13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Glow in the Dark Yarn?? on: January 27, 2008 11:13:37 AM
I am obsessed with anything that glows in the dark and a friend mentioned that there is glow in the dark yarn.

Can you get these glow in the dark yarn at stores like JoAnn's or Michael's? Or do I need to find some sort of specialty yarn store?

Also, if any of ya'll have bought glow in the dark yarn online... Could you lead me to places that has good comfortable yarn? I plan on making a cute undergarment set out of it.

Not really, it'll slide into the best spot all by itself. It's basically the same as tying your bra straps together with string.

xD I just read this... And I'm glad that I'm not the only one that ties my bra straps together. (my boobs feel better with more "racerback"-like bras.)

How did you get the magnets to stay put? I always thought that they might get lost in the stuffing or it'd get rolled around to another part of the body.  Huh

Grin I did something like this once... But that was when I had... smaller breasts... And it was for dressing up as a piratess.  Wink

I can simply imagine how many guys would hit on me if my DD girls suddenly went "CLEAVAGE ATTACK!!"...  Embarrassed
18  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Star Baby Blanket~Along on: January 26, 2008 04:07:42 PM
And... is it supposed to eat up yarn faster the farther along you go? @_@ the 4th skein that I used probably was finished within 4-5 rounds...

oh yeah. the last few rows are so much more longer and it just eats up yarn. I think my last skein lasted 2 1/2 rows, I decided the blanket was big enough and ripped out the 1/2 row and said it was done.

I was aiming for a blanket that measured about 40" across the center part (before the points starts) but it was 'only' about 35" across the middle. Measuring point to point, it was almost SIX FEET across. I think the baby will have time to grow into it...  Cheesy

Mmmkay... I wasn't sure if I did something wrong or what... I'm glad to know that I didn't do anything wrong...

Also, is there a way to make it... less bumpy? The farther into the blanket I am, the more I notice that there are these little "hills" on the blanket... I'm not sure if it was cause of teh slight tension change (I kinda learned from my mom and we both have close to the same tension) or if it was cause I keep stopping and going and stopping and going. @_@ These bumps are pretty much close the same places that I usually stop at (to go to bed and get ready to drive an hour to school every morning). @_@
19  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: How Bazaar! (Image massive) - Now with Patterns! on: January 26, 2008 12:02:37 PM
Thank you for the patterns!! xD I have a cat-loving friend who owns 11 cats (and 2 strays that love her to death) and she's constantly complaining about how much her cat pees all over the place! xD I plan on making an army of these so she will have cats that "don't pee"! lolz!

And I will try the other patterns whenever I have time. x3
