2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Shrinky Dinks neclaces on: August 07, 2005 09:02:06 AM
I'm just a beginner when it comes to Shrinky Dinks, but here's my try - hope you like them!
Kind of crappy pics, I had to scan them 'cause my camera would take decent pics of such a small objects.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Battle Royale coffee table - I'm in love! on: August 07, 2005 08:56:06 AM
My sister gave me this table, very not my style at all! At first I thought I'd just get a rid of it, but then I realized our old table was ...well...old. So, I decide to do something for the new table...and here we go: Our new Battle Royale coffe table (not really sure if this is a coffee table or not -sorry)

I found the pic from the net, sorry I can't remember who the artist was - but she/he sure is talented.
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / More of my soaps! on: March 16, 2005 11:58:43 PM
I've taken more pics of my soaps. I'm not sure if it's just my PC that makes the pics look really blurry, or was it resizing them that made them look like that, or what. But to me they look really blurry - sorry. But you'll get the idea.

"I Love Lucy" An orange scented soap I made for my best friend Lucy

"Onnettomuus Keittiössä" (Accident in the Kitchen) *tehee* (the soap is coffin shaped)

"Keittiö" (Kitchen)

"Kukkanen" (Flower)

"Mustavalkonen" (Black'n'white)
5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / melt and pour soaps, are they vegan? on: February 04, 2005 02:00:27 AM
I'd love to try melt and pour soap, but don't want to use any animal products anymore (I still do have some honey and beeswax left, as I'm not gonna trow them away I'll still do some non-vegan soaps). What about the glyserin in melt and pour soaps?? If it's not usually vegan, is there vegan version available? Anywhere?
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Finally I'm brave enough to post pics of some of my soaps :) Image heavy! on: January 20, 2005 05:51:50 AM
Here's chocolate soap called "Synti" (sin)

This one's Mango Monster

Here's "Höyläytys" (close to shaving) soap for big boys

These are called "Jassu" it's a facial soap for teenagers

And this is "Kaura-Hunaja" (oatmeal-honey)

Last, but not least...Oriental Calendula, soap for sensitive skin

Hope you like them!

8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / can I combine c/p soap to another c/p soap? on: December 22, 2004 05:11:20 AM
If I've done cp soaps before can I use them in another batch? I mean if I have used small molds to make soap, can I use those soaps as a decoration in a new soap? Is there anything I should be aware of before doing this?

Hopefully I make any sense. Like if I wanted to make white and red soap. First I make the red soap, let it cure for how long? and then make the white soap, pour it over the red one, right?
9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / How much titan dioxide? on: November 18, 2004 11:48:17 PM
I'm planning to make peppermint soap and dye it red and white. How much I need titan dioxide for one kilo soap (one kilo is a bit more than 2 pounds).

One more thing, if using soapcolors (I have some propably meant for MP, they are like tiny wax-y cakes) when do add them to the soap. I tried to mix it w/some extra oli I added at trace, but the little devil wouldn't melt in! So I ended up having natural white soap w/tiny green dots in it. Can I melt it in the lye-water mix? Or to the water before I add the lye in it?

What about the titan dioxide? when and where do I add it. I don't know if it's the one that melts in oil or the other one. Does it make any diffrence?

10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Cold process or melt and pour - can you tell? on: November 12, 2004 12:06:37 AM
I'm sorry to ask such a stupid question. I've done my first loaf of c/p soap last weekend, and I've totally come obsessed w/it. So I've gone through many many websites that has pics of soaps and stuff liek that. I've seen many pretty soaps. Now I need to ask can you tell which is c/p and which isn't? My main question is, can you make c/p soap "see through", you know? Or are the pretty see through soaps I've seen always m/p soaps? If you see a soap that has a certain shape (let's say apple) is it always melt and pour soap? can you do c/p soaps with molds?

I'd also like to know why choose c/p over m/p? (I do it cauz it feels more like my "own" creation, and I think it's cheaper. Any other benefits?

One more thing. It looks like c/p soap can be used on everything...as a shampoo, facial soap, on clothes, bath soap and so on...are m/p  soaps like that, too? And what makes basic soap as a facial soap? is it certain oils? tea trea oil?
