21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Reversible 40's Style Apron, Ready for Thanksgiving! on: November 18, 2007 04:05:27 PM
I needed a new apron for Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday; so I made this!  It's totally reversible, in 40's style fabric. It was actually a lot harder to make than I thought because the pattern didn't call for it to be reversible and with all the bias tape it proved a challenge.

Thanks for looking! Happy Thanksgiving!
22  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Bird Flu Cake on: November 18, 2007 10:57:26 AM
what on earth inspired this!?

The Bird Flu epidemic of course!  That and a table cloth at a Thai resturant that had what looked like paint splatters on it and I thought... ohhh... that looks just like bird poop!  Keep in mind this was like, nearly two years ago when Bird Flu was all the rage.  I really don't even know how Bird Flu is transmitted.

I made these. And drew them.  I don't know what to do with them now.

And I was going to make a kit out of this.  Seven hours later I felt differently...

I made this some time ago.  It's what happens when birds poo on yummy chocolate cake and make you sick. It looked better than it tasted.

These are great!  Are you using any patterns or just doing it on the fly?
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: red homecoming dress. on: September 25, 2006 11:20:23 AM
Is that tissue lame or another kind?  I've been wanting to make a dress out of lame for a while now but it seems impossible due to the weak fabric.  any pointers?
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: felting frustration, grr on: July 21, 2006 09:02:03 AM
This is what I incurred when I first tried to felt.  I would recommend not putting it in the washing machine at all.  Go to a hardware store and purchase a washing board and do it by hand.  Your garmet will felt right up and you'll earn some awesome muscles too...

I'm sorry.  I'm having a really hard time figuring out why this is in the featured projects.
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Inspired by a button, a post, and an awesome 99 cent pattern sale. . . on: June 05, 2006 08:02:19 AM
I just finished this dress last night with the exact same problems.  Much too big in the bust and waist.  I was severly dissapointed.  This pattern has been going around a lot lately and everyone was getting beautiful results.  I'm glad I'm not the only one who encountered this.  I will be taking the whole thing apart and doing a muslin mock this week.  I spent waay to much money on fabric for this not to fit!

It looks great!  good luck!
