1481  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap discussion thread 2015 on: January 06, 2015 07:45:17 AM
Okay, I am going to throw my hat back in and join. Hopefully I will be able to claim more than I did in November. I got overly ambitious for Christmas and the project I was working on took up almost all of my time.
I am loving all the cards I have seen lately!

I have four projects done for this month but I plan to post them all at once and I have to wait for bunny1 to get her package before I post one of them. Hopefully I can get at least one more prompt done before that happens.

THANK YOU TANATH!!! I love reading your reports. I know a lot of time has to go into them and we all appreciate it! Not only are they interesting but you make them so fun to read!  Grin Thank you so much.

It's been a while since I commented so here it goes...
Inselaeffchen The coasters and placemats are wonderful! You did a great job on them. Love the Snitch.
Ludi Insane Ninni. Shocked That guy is absolutely amazing! And Yay for a warm bed for Hermione! I am making a bed for my neighbors cat tonight. Its going to get cold this week and she needs a warm place outside to sleep. If she were indoor I would attempt one like yours. It looks cozy!
Crazyda79 As a huge fan of Jack (hes tattooed on my foot) I love the tree you did with your kids! They did a great job on the ornament as well! Very sweet butterfly ornament. Cute snowman ornament too. I like his earmuffs. How did the gesso turn out? Looks very interesting! Adorable little stocking cap too! And again, very sweet for you babies memory boxes.
Rockingbearranch interesting coffee recipe. You kind of lost me with the egg though. LOL! Guess I am just a city girl. Now your ice cream I could get with though! LOL! Looks so yummy.
Bunny1kenobi Adorable hat! And yes, I want to see that action shot.
Tanath My year flew by before my eyes too! I love that little star you made. It is very pretty and looks so intricate.
LovelyMiss Wonderful birdhouses. I like the idea of the scraps to help the birds make nests.
vincentvanbuck I am sure roler loved both items. They are very cool.
CraftADDchick- That reindeer hat is absolutely adorable! Love his nostrils (now how often do you get to say that?). The bags are wonderful as well. Like that butterfly fabric. But the guinea pigs take the cake. So cute. And the fact that they are a pair make them even cuter! The owl man turned out amazing! I love that he is a marionette! Too cool. And thanks again fro helping me with my Christmas!
Amaranth_in_oz amazing ATCs. Love the use of the dark background. The butterfly is such a fantastic thing to add.
Roler Very pretty stocking. Love that red fabric.
Calliemae Cute frogs, sad story. Who new caffeine could be used that way?
Artsycandice Very festive and pretty Christmas trees. And what a sad story with the male chicks! I do like what you ended up with though. Adorable illustration for Kwality570. I am sure she loved that. It is right up her alley. I like the little green monster in the upper left corner best. Great fox too! Beautiful ATC as well. I always love to see new ways to use up scraps. Your cicadas are awesome.
Kwality570 LOVE that narwhale! It is amazing. The background turned out cool too. I just got a pack of the Inktense pencils for Christmas but I havent opened them yet. I need too! Did you use them on cardstock or water color paper? Love the look!

Research Project Name: Quilt for Dad  Cheesy
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I decided, very impulsively, that I was going to make my Dad a quilt for Christmas. He is always saying he is cold and sweating my Mom out of the house. I wanted to make him a quilt that would fit his beloved recliner. I wanted it to be long enough to fold up under his feet and wide enough to tuck into the recliner without hanging out over it too much.
My idea was to make it sentimental so that he HAD use it.  Wink I made squares for people in the family including me, my Mom, my sister & her husband, my Dad's dog (she got two squares), Dad's cat (again 2 squares) and his mother who passed away and used to make quilts all the time.
This ended up being a WAY bigger experience than I was ready for. I ended up custom painting many of the squares. You have no idea how hard it is to find non cartoon fabric of Bigfoot or UFO's (he loves both). Then I ended up custom painting the cat, dog, and my sisters dog and some Fox News squares cas he watches that ALL the time. I used flannel for the back to make it even warmer too.
I found out my machine, which is a knock off brand that is about 12 years old, could not handle the binding so I fought with that for days and finally did some of it by hand.  Roll Eyes By the end of this project I wanted to rip it to shreds and set it on fire, but I think it was worth it. My Dad really liked it. Here is a pic of him with it, the dog jumped on him while I was taking the picture and it is nearly impossible to get a shot of him without the dog so I didn't fight it.  Tongue

Whew! My first Research Project!!!! Grin

Ludi thanks for the tip on that printable fabric! I am going to have to try it out. The kitty coaster is adorable! And once again, I want your cat. She is so cute! Did she end up liking the sweater?

Calabaza Cute macaron and the popcorn balls look delicious!

Rockingbearranch Beautiful Madonna matchbox. I love the rich colors. Good luck with the bookshelf Research Project. Looks like it will be a very rewarding project. Adorable Lama. I like the alpaca best though. He is fuzzier. LOL! Awe, and you didnt forget your fur babies for Christmas and made them toys! Awesome. I like the idea of the ball inside for weight. Wonderful swap items for Alwaysinmyroom. She will like those! And adorable snowmen. They are super cute. Great use of scraps/stash items. Very pretty bird ATC too! I love the mermaid art you did. I for one am a fan of pink. I think you did an amazing job! And welcome to TEAM WORDY!! Grin
Roler Cool stocking!

Smeddley fantastic dragon. The background is clever! He is so cute! Love the fairy/hobbit door! I have a couple of these in my house and I think they are so fun. They add so much charm to a room.

FreakieGeekie Fun elf hat. I too believe Link is an elf.

Amaranth_in_oz those ATCs are FANTASTIC. I love how vibrant and fun they are! You added so much detail into such a small space without making it look crowded or messy, which is NOT easy.
