222  Re: Monster Swap Round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: March 11, 2014 04:12:39 PM
I cannot gush enough. I got the most amazing package ever from Calixita today. Absolutely fantastic! I am still in awe over it! Here it is still wrapped up. Even the box it came in had tentacles and monster paws!

and opened. The card is SO adorable!

Now let me explain what each thing is. First up is an incredible Frankenstein hand sanitizer cozy.

Calixita knows I love Frankenstein and his Bride, especially his bride. She made me this absolutely fantastic peyote stitched bracelet of the bride!!! It is beyond gorgeous!!! Absolutely stunning. I love it SO much! And the bookmark is perfect too. I read a lot so this will get plenty of use!

then she sent me the cutest thing ever. It is a little monster in my favorite color, gray, and he holds different items for the season/holiday! Isn't that clever! I am taking him to work. He will sit next to my monster calendar I got from Kwality570.
Here he is holding the Easter egg. Oh, and the mask is for Halloween so he can dress as a human! Too funny!

Absolutely amazing package Calixita. Absolutely! I loved everything!!!! Thank you so much!

Brief Description: I saw this on Calixita's Pinterest board and tried to make it for her in the Monster Swap. Epic fail but I sent it anyways to show I made the effort. She said she liked it. It was my first time sewing with suede and it didn't do exactly as I expected. Lesson learned. My next attempt will be better! Wink

225  Fairy Tale Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by gozer on: February 26, 2014 08:58:47 AM

I was thinking of a swap that would be based on Fairy Tales but not so much Disney. I like Disney but I wanted something a little more whimsical, or classic, or Grimm's type. I was thinking that we could list our three favorite Fairy Tales and our partner could do a medium and two smalls based on whichever they chose.
What do you guys think? Would you be interested? Let me know!

I meant to post this up last night but then got stuck grocery shopping and running errands. Then when I finally made it home I was sanding motorcycle parts.  Tongue Day in my life. So random. BUT I did get this amazing trapper hat just in time for the weather to head south once again. It was one of my top wants! Yay!!!
Here is a really bad action shot. Sorry. I got a new phone last week and the camera is not so great. I took another shot this morning, then set my phone back down on the counter and it is still sitting there. Oops!
Thank you so much Psyche. LOVE the hat!!!!

Sorry I haven't commented in so long. I will get on here and go back thru it all soon. I have been SO lazy with the snow.

Battle/Challenge:  February Zombie Apocalypse
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Zombie shirt
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I was reading this Kindle series and it had a funny part too it. The main character gets to a safe camp (yeah, apocalypse type book) and she notices all the females are wearing skirts. She starts thinking there is a seedy reason for it and gets nervous. Later on she finds out that they don't know how to sew pants and skirts are easy. LOL! To me that was really funny. Also, in the apocalypse clean clothes are a luxury. And clean socks are gold. I guess I wouldn't be that successful but I did use my stash to make this shirt. Just in case mine got ripped running from a zombie horde. P.S. If the apocalypse does come, those who knit socks will be worshipped!
The back is slightly longer than the front of the shirt. It's not hanging weird.  Tongue

229  Lila and the Chicken in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by gozer on: February 05, 2014 08:46:45 AM
I am participating in the Winter Nerd Battles
and it is SO much fun. We get challenges each month and try to make projects fit each one. In January we had a challenge called "Put a bird on it" and our project had to contain a bird of some sort or something bird related (feathers, eggs, ect). It is up to you to interpret it as you will.
I am terrified of three things, heights, my Dad's driving and birds. Just thinking of this challenge sent a shiver up my spine! I tried to think of a nonthreatening bird but since those are only urban legends I went for a less threatening bird. Or at least I tried too. I have been informed that chickens are quite vicious actually. Who knew? Not me because I am not getting near them!

Here was my offering. I call her Lila and the Chicken. My husband says it's a rooster. LOL! Again, not getting close enough to check.

Hope you like her. I think later on I may try to do something else with the background. Smooth it out or something. Not sure.  Tongue
 Thanks for looking!

I'll let you know how they work. I also heard you could fill a pouch with scented kitty litter to absorb the odor or even some sort of charcoal for fish filters. Haha.
Okay, got my other project done today too!

Battle/Challenge:  January - Put a bird in it
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Lila and the Chicken
Project Page Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=431330.0#axzz2sSxgsNvA
Brief Description: There are a couple things in the world that scare me, heights, my Dad's driving, and birds. When I saw it was a bird challenge I cringed.  Embarrassed  I tried to think of a nonthreatening bird and since there are none I tried to think of a less threatening bird. A flamingo first came to mind and I thought that would be too Alice in Wonderland-ish and I had done that already so I went with the chicken. Man, just thought of a penguin! They don't scare me! Anyways, here is my offering - Lila and the Chicken. Promise, this will be my last drawing for a while!
