It's been crazy here and I will try to comment on everything tomorrow! Just wanted to get this in before I forget. I feel so behind this month!

Prompt: February - Battle - Paper
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: Stash
Project Name: ATC's
Project Link: -
Brief Description: I love to sew and to draw so this was a toss up for me. But when times are tight or I am bored I find myself searching for some PAPER to doodle on. I did these ATCs for the ATC swap. The first is of a Highland Cow (you should look them up, they are adorable!), a plague doctor for bunny1kenobi, and a portrait of kosmicgirl.

192  Re: Ongoing ATC swap - February 2015 - GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: February 18, 2015 09:00:47 AM
I somehow missed this gallery as well.  Roll Eyes Not sure what I was doing, just hanging out in last months.
Patraw - LOVE those cats, so beautifully done. I like the snow cat best. With all the snow around my house lately it is fitting. Both as stunning.
blupaisan - love your style. Adorable seal! Bright and fun Sunnerland card. Absolutely adorable fox on the birthday card! The cat miniature card is cute. I can't imagine drawing that tiny! The felted mouse is darling!
Sheepblue - that is a crazy bathroom scene! So well done and on such a tiny scale! And all those teeth are really cool.
bunny1kenobi - Stunning  Curiosity Cabinet card. So inventive and detailed! Gorgeous!!

And speaking of amazing ATC's. I also received from bunny1kenobi and got an amazingly creative and phenomenal card from her.
 Behold... Red Riding Hood!

It's my own little shadow puppet playhouse!. She added magnets to the back so I can keep it on my fridge and she added little holes to the top to store my puppets. She is so clever! Wink

 I just love that Huntsman!
The card is fantastic and I love everything about it.
 Thank you bunny1kenobi!!!!!

ArtsyCandice Love, love, love that chicken! Absolutely stunning. So much detail and the eye is incredible!
YennaMuffin lovely little pony card. I like the color of the background.
Bunny1Kenobi Your vintage tailor card is amazing. I love how graphic and stylized it is. That touch of lace in the corner is brilliant.

Okay, I have had a cold with a horrible headache for a couple days now. I took come cold medicine yesterday that did nothing except make me lose my train of thought all day. I honestly thought I posted this yesterday. Sorry Allegrae. Here it is today.
I have to admit that when I saw my theme as fav quote from book/movie I was nervous. It was book (non-movie). I really thought I was going to get a movie quote. LOL! But I should have had more faith. I got this amazing card from Allegrae on Saturday and I love it. I am partial to book page backgrounds and I love the whale and the sea grass and star fish. Fantastic quote too! Thank you!!

And last night I arrived home to find this gem from Kosmicgirl. Talk about swap anxiety! I have it big time now. I got this phenomenal card from her for my Red Riding Hood theme. I am also a huge fan of Art Nuevo so this was absolutely perfect!. I love everything about it and I am so jealous of how you got the background to blend! Love, love, love her! Thank you Kosmicgirl and I hope your card arrives soon!

 Thanks for the cards!!!!!

Hey guys little bit of a project dump for today. Included is my offering for the Raffle.

Prompt: January - You're as cold as ice
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Cold ATC's
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I know how everyone on here seems to love bird, I just don't get it. They scare me to death with their pointy beaks and the way they nervously twitch around. Not to mention they can attack you from above and catch you unaware. Here is an ATC for the theme Bird Boy that I did for artsycandice. He's cold hearted, look into his eye (but not for long or he will attack). The second one is an ATC that I just did and may send out if it fits someone theme later. I was just in a drawing mood. She is an alien and we all know one day aliens will come down and destroy us all, a little cold if you ask me.

Prompt: February - Edward Scissorhands
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: Stash
Project Name: Dr Who Tardis Scarf
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Just take a look at all that cutting. This fits the copious cutting prompt without tweaking it, LOL! This will also be my prize for the Games. I was going to do a purse but I wasn't sure about shipping overseas right now and these would be a lot cheaper to ship. Hope at least some of you like it!
Project Picture:

Prompt: February - Stamp the yard.
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: ATC backs
Project Link:
Brief Description:  Although this project didn't utilize a stamp it is directly inspired by them. I recently rejoined the ATC swap and wanted to get a stamp for the backs. I looked and looked and nothing was what I wanted. I decided I wanted it to be more personal so I set about designing my own. It then took a sharp turn and I ended up making these.
Project Picture:

I tested it out on the back of the card I sent Bunny1kenobi. Here is how it looks signed, titled, and dated.

Prompt: February - Love is in the air.
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Personalized ATC backs.
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: When I think of Valentines I think of cards. I don't have a Valentine this year but I am sending out a card! To my bestie Bunny1kenobi and I love that I have such an amazing and creative best friend. She painted this octopus girl for me in a swap last year (I think it was last year). I tested it out on some personalized ATC backs for her and thought they looked amazing. It was like they were made for it! I muted a couple out for different effects. These are on there way to you Bunny1. I just glue stuck (glue sticked?) them to the backs of mine.  Cheesy I hope you like them.

I received from Spikefan last night. She sent me a very vibrant and fun monster card. I think he is really cute!

Doesn't he have the sweetest little expression? Thanks so much Spikefan. I adore him.  Cheesy

Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points:-0-
Project Name: Curious Bunny ATC
Project Link: (if available)

Hey guys! I got an AMAZING card from kosmicgirl today. I was so excited when she picked me because I have been a fan of hers for some time. She did NOT disappoint.  Grin I love this card. She picked my monster theme and this is her in her nieces monster hat.

It's actually a bit brighter but my flash kept leaving a glare.
Love the card and thank you so much for it kosmicgirl!!!!!

Prompt: December - India
Team: WORDY!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Patchwork Scarf
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I used bright and colorful fabric scarps for this scarf, inspired by the beautiful fabrics of India.  Cheesy

Prompt: January Mob - Gives you the chills
Team: WORDY!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: 1976 Shirt
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Not much scares me or creeps me out quite like getting really, really old. My friend, who is born the same year, is having a b-day next week and I made her this shirt. I want to make myself one too. Also, the shirt is long sleeved because the cold gives me the chills too! I stenciled this shirt and instead of painting the fabric paint on I dabbed it with my finger to give it a more uneven, vintage feel.
Project Picture:

Below is my cat Dahlia that did not like that I was spending time crafting instead of petting her.

Prompt: January - Brrrr
Team: WORDY!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: 1974 Shirt
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: When the weather goes down so does the sleeve length. I always whip out my long sleeved shirts for the winter. This shirt is for my sister and is long sleeved to keep her warm. Another Brrr cold association is that it is cold to tell everyone how old she really is.  Wink Again I finger paint dabbed the paint on to make it look more vintage. I think it was more successful with the white paint.

Prompt: January - Frozen Tundra

Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Ghastlies Patchwork scarf
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: The roads where icy and I couldn't leave my house last Wednesday so I used my time wisely and dug thru my scraps. Everything was from my stash.  Wink I am assuming that scarves were invented somewhere very cold to keep them warm and when I think about going somewhere cold a scarf is one of the first things in my bag.

I have one more but I am waiting on it to arrive....

I really like that John Snow paper doll rockingbearranch! You did an amazing job! And I like your ATC too. I chose the same theme but different animal!  Wink

Prompt:  January - Battle WARM
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Cat Tub
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: My neighbors cat likes me more. She hangs out at my house, looks in my windows and hangs out in the garden. I have been really worried about her being outside in the cold so before the last cold front came thru my Mom and I made her a bed for when she refuses to go back to the neighbors house. It's two plastic tubs with Styrofoam to insulate it and help it remain water proof. I also have a towel inside for warmth and an old dish towel to keep the breeze out. It doesn't look fancy but it is very practical and works! My Mom has two outside of her house and her cats love them. I would let me neighbors cat in but she isn't declawed and I have three declawed cats inside... plus a bunny.
Project Picture:

This pic shows the inside before the second tub was added. The Styrofoam  went all the way around. I filled in the gaps and added it to the top as well.

This is the finished look. Not fancy but practical and it keeps her warm.

Prompt: January - Freezing Point
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Franks wife necklace
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Inspired by zero, an O. This necklace is circular. The shape of a zero. Plus, Ms. Frank is probably very cold to touch since she was (is?) dead.  Wink
Project Picture:

Prompt: January - C.O.L.D
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: +10 (COLD)
Project Name: Cute Ole Literary Device
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Bunny1kenobi, lindyv321 & I are all doing a Reading Challenge this year. I sent Bunny1 these bookmarks to help her along when she is reading actual books and not e-books.  Smiley They were inspired by her Pinterest board of bookmarks. These were done on marker board with Copics and covered with contact paper.

Prompt: Red Alert - Holiday Spirit
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: UFO
Project Name: The Bunny1kenobi necklace
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Bunny1 made a joke about a necklace of her name a while ago and I got the supplies and meant to have it ready way before Christmas but then I ended up having to make it in December. Best laid plans.  Tongue But here it is. A bunny1kenobi necklace that I sent to her for our gift exchange. It was done with Copic markers.
Project Picture:

Prompt: Red Alert - New Years Resolution
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Yellow Bird
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I got a set of those Inktense Pencils that everyone is raving about and producing amazing art with. Mine, eh... not so much. I think I need to play with them more, use a different paper (maybe water color paper?) and lay them on thicker. I think I was light with them. I ended up adding some Copic markers. I think next time I will try layering too. Still learning with them but everyone else has had stellar results so I know its me. The ATC theme was unexpected animals with antlers (what a great theme!).

Research Project Name: Quilt for Dad  Cheesy
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I decided, very impulsively, that I was going to make my Dad a quilt for Christmas. He is always saying he is cold and sweating my Mom out of the house. I wanted to make him a quilt that would fit his beloved recliner. I wanted it to be long enough to fold up under his feet and wide enough to tuck into the recliner without hanging out over it too much.
My idea was to make it sentimental so that he HAD use it.  Wink I made squares for people in the family including me, my Mom, my sister & her husband, my Dad's dog (she got two squares), Dad's cat (again 2 squares) and his mother who passed away and used to make quilts all the time.
This ended up being a WAY bigger experience than I was ready for. I ended up custom painting many of the squares. You have no idea how hard it is to find non cartoon fabric of Bigfoot or UFO's (he loves both). Then I ended up custom painting the cat, dog, and my sisters dog and some Fox News squares cas he watches that ALL the time. I used flannel for the back to make it even warmer too.
I found out my machine, which is a knock off brand that is about 12 years old, could not handle the binding so I fought with that for days and finally did some of it by hand.  Roll Eyes By the end of this project I wanted to rip it to shreds and set it on fire, but I think it was worth it. My Dad really liked it. Here is a pic of him with it, the dog jumped on him while I was taking the picture and it is nearly impossible to get a shot of him without the dog so I didn't fight it.  Tongue
Project Picture:

Whew! My first Research Project!!!! Grin
