11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 2 new wristlets on: August 10, 2008 04:24:04 PM
I made 2 of these today.  I am trying to come up with the "perfect" wallet - lol!  They are both a little wonky - but I learned something new with each one.  A few more adjustments and I may be getting close.

First one - the front side opens to a large compartment for cell phone, lipstick, whatever...

On the back another flap reveals 6 credit card pockets and a money pocket.

Second one - slightly improved - The front still opens up to a large pocket, but also has a zippered change pocket

The back is the same with the credit card and money pockets

The first one is just lined with interfacing, the second one also has fuseable fleece.

Comments?  Suggestions?  Critiques?

12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Baby Jungle Animals Diaper Bag - sooo cute! Image obese! on: August 09, 2008 02:02:25 PM
My sister's friend was having a baby and had purchased this fabric and asked for a messenger style diaper bag.  I found a pattern I liked and with a few minor modifications this is what I made for her.  I love how it turned out!!

What do you think?

13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Lunch Bags! on: August 05, 2008 03:26:38 PM
I made some lunch bags from the tutorial found here:

I didn't have a pillowcase so I used fabrics from my stash and that most fabulous invention yet - fuseable vinyl!!  I am so in love with this stuff!!!

I made the green one a bit bigger to accomodate my favorite plastic container and an icepack.  I also strayed from the tut a bit by using the vinyl for the lining rather than on the outside of the bag.  I also attached the lining with velcro so that it can be removed and the rest of the bag can be tossed in the machine.

Without further ado - here are my new lunch bags!

The pink one isn't actually quite finished yet. It needs a drawstring and the lining isn't attached yet - but I couldn't wait to post a picture!

What do yo think??

14  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hillbilly Diaper Bag on: March 17, 2008 09:05:48 AM
I was asked to make a "Hillbilly" diaper bag and this is what I ended up with.  I love the fabrics - the brown is denim and the closure is a heavy dity snap like on blue jeans.

As always, comments appreciated!!   Smiley

17  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Two more new bags - I can't stop making bags! *Mini-tut added for Zip bag* on: February 22, 2008 04:29:00 PM
My daughter wanted me to make her a bag so we went fabric shopping and this is what she picked.  We came up with a design together and here's the result:

The next is a copy of a reuseable shopping bag I saw at Target.  I broke down and spent the .99 so I could figure out how to make it! Wink

All closed up:

Unzipped and partly opened up:

All the way opened:

What do you think?  Comments always appreciated!

18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / New bags from old clothes! on: February 21, 2008 05:52:07 PM
I love to go to the thrift shop and find ugly old clothes to cut up and make new purses!  The Salvation Army is my favorite fabric shop Smiley

I posted these in the general projects section too, but they probably belong here.

Made from a skirt - the strap is the belt that came with it.  The lining is a pair of pants I had that happened to be a perfect match!

Another skirt, handles scavenged from an old purse

19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 2 New Bags - Dancing Girls and Ring of Fire on: February 20, 2008 01:06:51 PM
I used a tutrial from a website that was mentioned here on Crafters as a guide for these bags, I can't find the link to the thread, but I'll keep looking.

I can't stop making bags!

The top part isn't off center - the pic just makes it look that way for some reason.
