i thought i was too cute so i just had to make one! It is a perfect present for m friends mum, cos she loves elephants and she knits so i know she'll appreciate a handmade gift.  Wink i did a few things slightly different to the pattern but nothing really major. Here's the pic of mine...

i'm holding him in my hand so u can get an idea of size. i still need to put some nylon/gold thread hough his head so he can hag from the tree!  Grin Grin

15  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Bender Bending Rodrguez on: July 14, 2008 11:35:28 AM
I recently made Bender Bending Rodrguez!! woohoo! i made him for our friends 30th bday.. he asked for no gifts.. but i dont think he minded when he received Bender!! Our friend likes robots and Bender, and his kind of nickname is Todbot. onto the pictures..
Most of Benders bits pre sewing:
Finished Bender chilling on a table on a bar in Vegas!

i used this pattern..
that pattern i pretty easy to follow.

there is also a few versions of different Benders on Ravelry.. worth checking out for reference.

i think i pretty much stuck to the pattern.. but i did make his arms n legs bit shorter.. i used CSS in soft gray heather or something, n black, n i used off-white for the eyes n teeth. i think he turned out pretty welll, he's not quite perfect but everyone who saw him thought he was cool! i will b making 2nd improved version tho.. with poseable arms n legs, fingers etc.. maybe door opening.. i was in bit of a rush this time tho.
16  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Filet Tiger afghan help please? on: June 17, 2008 12:03:56 PM
I found a chart for a filet tiger

i was wondering if that chart could be used to make an afghan? any ideas on what would be the best stitch to use? i will experiment myself i was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts etc? i want to make this as a wedding pressie for my best friend who loves tigers.. i found this chart aaaages ago... and i bookmarked it, with making it a wedding gift for her.. and then she got engaged last week! woo! it's going to be a long engagement so there's not really a big rush.

Also if anyone knows of any other tiger charts that would be suitable could they point me in the right direction? i was thinking like maybe 2 tigers together or something?

thanks in advance  Grin
17  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / More Rainbow Goodness! on: May 31, 2008 06:53:21 PM
Since the 2 fabulous rainbow scarves have been posted in the past month or so obviously i HAD to make some rainbow goodies!!!!!!!!! i made a baby hat cos i just thought it would be cute all bright and rainbow coloured! and some booties to go with it!

Also i made a scarf for my friend, we've been friends since we were 2 years old (we are now well in our 20's), and when we were 2 and a little bit older we used to play Fairies and Rainbows, and allsorts of fun make believe games, like you do when you are young. But i think she'll LOVE this scarf!!!

onto the interesting bit.. pictures!

the hat is from the noodle hat pattern but without the brim and the noodle bit. I just changed the colour at the end of each row in rainbow sequence. The booties are some REALLY simple ones from..

the scarf..

i like the way that everkutz did the clouds.. but i didnt want it to be weighed down too much at the ends, and i think my scarf is quite floppy so i thought i'd just do the kind of pointed ones. i think mine still looks cute,  and i think my friend will adore it!!  Wink
18  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Another Starghan and a Pink Bear.... with no eyes! on: May 27, 2008 02:46:49 PM
here's the latest starghan i have finished

inspired by this post....

i'm not sure if i will make it bigger, it is quite small at the moment but i cant decide... i'm gonna say its finished for now. i thought it would be ok as a car/stroller blanket or something. i like it i think its pretty.

here is a pink bear i finished too...

the pattern for him is from crochetville...

great pattern, cute bear! but i need to give him eyes and i dont know what colour? i was just gonna embroider them on with yarn or floss, cos it going to be a pressie for a little baby.

20  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Crochet Elephant (3pics) on: May 11, 2008 09:39:14 PM
So i knitted the Elefante by Susan B Anderson.. the post of my elephant is here:

It's a great knitting pattern, i found it simple and easy to follow.

But i wondered if i could make something similar in crochet form, because i think i can crochet faster, so i tried and i made this...

back  view..

and with his knitted friend..

i think he turned out pretty cute.. if i was going to make him again i would taper his trunk a bit where it joins his head.. and make his body a bit smaller maybe. I think i still like the way the original looks more but i am still pleased with him.. he's going to go to my husbands little cousin.
