31  quilt I made for a swap in Quilting: Completed Projects by Deece in MN on: August 17, 2011 09:08:55 AM
Since my partner has received this, I thought I would post it here to share.

I made this quilt for the Make-a-Friend swap.

The pictures aren't the best.  The backing fabric looks like tweed and coordinates with the front better than it looks like it does in the pictures.

Close-up of the print fabric:

Thanks for looking. Smiley

Package #3

I received package #3 from craftycakelady.  Awesome stuff!
I love tea, so she sent me a tea themed package.

There is a can of chai which I love!  Tea Time magazine which I have not seen before.  Some new teas and a hand painted and decorated tea box.

This is the same tea box, but with the lid open.  There is also a piece of beautiful orange batik!  And a pack of note pads and pen.

Last, but certainly not least...

A box of homemade goodies!!  These are so yummy!!!

Thank you craftycakelady!  I have been enjoying my tea and your wonderful treats! Smiley

Finally able to post some pics of the package I received from Milady.

Two of the items were made for her original partner and one was made for me.

This bag was made for her original partner, but it could have been made for me. Smiley  I love it!!  I have been carrying it around for days now.  I love the color and the design.  It is an awesome bag!

The piano key bag was made for her original partner.  My daughter has taken possession of it; she loves it!  She carries her current embroidery project in it.
The apple cozy was made for me.  I love it!  I have used it to carry nectarines to work as well as apples.  It is so cute!

There was also some candy and a map of London which I requested.  I was having trouble getting the picture of these things to load.  Sorry.

Thank you so much Milady!  Your workmanship is incredible!!  I love everything. Smiley

Package #2

I received from craftycakelady.  Another great package!

Dish mats; love these!  I have seen them and wanted to make some and now I don't have to!  I love when I receive items that are on my list of things to make. Smiley

Knitting kit; includes a project bag (love the fabric), circular needles and yarn.

Finally, a purse organizer (love this fabric, too!), embroidery floss organizer, origami paper.

Thank you for the great package.  Love it all!

Package #1

I finally have a few minutes to post pics of what I received from craftycakelady.  Yay! Smiley

Something made of paper: handmade notecards; love them!
Things kept in a purse: dental floss (have made use of this already Smiley ), mints and notepad (this also was part of #27 - organization)
Favorite craft supply: fat quarters!  I can never have too many of these! Smiley

Non-craft hobby: bookmark; the flowers are beautiful!
Reflects style: mug rug; I love these fabrics!  I will use this when enjoying my morning tea or coffee.
Something edible: cookies; I love shortbread cookies!  I am eating them as I type this. Smiley
Freebie: tea wallet; this will be handy as I love tea.

Summer essential: cookie cutters; I thought this was very creative!  I love baking cookies so these will come in handy.
Kitchen staple: apron;  I love the size of this apron!  It will help me stay clean in the kitchen. Smiley

There was also a seam ripper that was for the craft essential category.  I didn't get a picture of it as I had to put it to use right away and forgot to get it in the pics. Smiley

Thank you craftycakelady!  I enjoyed this round and can't wait for the others.

Oh my, what gorgeous packages everyone has received!

I received from Nannetta today and I am in love with my goodies!!  Grin

Here is the package with everything wrapped.  I love sunflowers and was excited just to see the wrapped items.  The card also has sunflowers.

These are fingerless mittens with owls!!  They are beautiful!  I love that they cover most of my fingers as well.

Then there are wrist warmers.  It has cooled down here in MN and I have been wearing these all day.  Grin  Love them!

Then I found socks!  These are the first pair of knitted socks I have owned and I love them!  I wish I had a dozen of them. Smiley  I have been wearing these all day, too.

Me with them on. Smiley  They fit perfectly!

I received a bunch of yummy treats!  I have had a couple pieces of chocolate, but I want to savour these as much as I can so I am limiting myself to 1 or 2 pieces a day.  We will see how long that lasts. Smiley

I also received some fabric.  Very cute woodland animals, owls and ladybugs.  They are awesome pieces that will find a happy home in my stash until I find the perfect project for them. Smiley

Finally, a map from Germany.  Nannetta asked if there was anything I might want from Germany.  I said that I like maps and it would be neat to have one from another country.  I am planning on making it into artwork for my wall.  I am not exactly sure yet how I want it to look, but I think it will be a fun art piece.

Nannetta did an absolutely wonderful job on color choice.  I love everything so much!  Her work is divine!  I joined this swap because my knitting skills are very basic and I always wanted some of these things.  I am so happy that I joined and received such a wonderful partner!!

Thank you, Nannetta. Smiley

My squishy package arrived today and my hubby brought it to me at work so I wouldn't have to wait all day to open it.  Very sweet of him!

Anyway, here it is:

Fun fabrics.  I really like them and will have to keep my daughter from taking a couple of them. Smiley
Thanks erica-tattoos!

39  fabric basket in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Deece in MN on: May 16, 2011 06:59:02 PM
I am not really sure where this should go, but since it holds things I thought it might fit in this section.
My partner has received this so I can share it now.
I made this for the Fabric Lovers Scavenger Hunt swap.
It was fun to make.  I have some fabric bowls I made years ago on my sewing table to hold odds and ends.  I like this little basket better and think I will make one for myself. Smiley

40  drawstring bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Deece in MN on: May 16, 2011 06:54:50 PM
Since my partner has received this, I can now share. Smiley
I made this for the Fabric Lovers Scavenger Hunt swap.  My partner had the birdcage fabric on her wist and I knew I had it in my stash.  I decided I had to make her something using the fabric.  I had a pattern for some drawstring bags and thought this would be a good way to use the fabric.
I also used a product called Texture Magic to create the bumpy textured bottom.
