I completed this a few days ago but have been sick so not getting around to posting. Anyways. It is from the book Not Your Mamas Crochet by Amy Swenson. (On a side note I LOVE this book. There are so many projects that I really want to make)
So onto the stats and pics
I used Caron Simply Soft Black and size H hook for the hat and switched to a size G for the mock ribbing around the head. (That's what the book stated) I still have to finish the brim of the hat but was too sick to focus so I kept having to frog it.
I did find one pattern errata in it that was really no biggie just probably a typo or something. Other than that it was really super easy. Oh, and this was my first time actually getting the hang of FPDC and BPDC. I've tried before in the past but it always came out wonky.
(It's hard to take pictures of yourself wearing a hat)
Then the side of the hat
One thing that I do love about this hat is that I can wear it a couple of different ways. 1. as sorta of a rasta hat 2. as sorta a beret and 3. as a newsboy hat. I just need to finish the brim and then I think this will be my FAVE hat.
Thanks for looking!
ETA: I forgot to mention that the hat is actually turned inside out. I like it better this way for some reason than with the big ribbing going down it. I guess it's all about personal preference.
