1  My cute cordy jordy in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Binoo on: November 28, 2007 11:13:24 AM

The minute I saw this fabric, I just had to have it. It's a brown corduroy with a pattern embossed on it. I had never seen something like that before... and it wasn't very expensive either. So, I made a jordy because it's quick and easy. I added a zipper top and it worked out beautifully. I made the strap adjustable by attaching it at one end and putting 2 d-rings at the other end. What else? There are 2 pockets inside, one with an embedded zipper and a plain add-on one. Here are the pics:

A look at the zipper:

An open look with my zipper tail, the flaps fold down and don't take up any space:

Thanks for looking.

2  ANOTHER zipper pouch w/tute link in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Binoo on: November 28, 2007 09:15:37 AM

This is slightly different in that the zipper is embedded in the top and sort of hidden. I thought it was a cool new idea. Click on the blog link for the tutorial. Thanks for looking.

This is a not so good look at the top with the zipper.

3  2 new bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Binoo on: September 26, 2007 09:11:38 AM

This first one is a crochet messenger that I started a while ago. It's finally finished -- well, kinda. I want to line it but can't decide on a lining. It looks lopsided in the picture but that's just the way it's hanging.

This next one I think is really cute, and I would love it even if I didn't make it. I've been trying unsuccessfully to get a zipper closure jordy for a while, and I think I finally found something that works. Other than for the very plain denim patch in the middle I'm really happy with it.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments MAmadurk, I appreciate it very much.

And here's the remainder of the jeans:

5  Everything old... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Binoo on: September 11, 2007 07:48:13 AM

...is new again. I have been doing some recycling lately, instead of just throwing things out I'm taking a new look... and here's what I see.

My very first bum bag. Front:

And a pair of shorts that I couldn't part with, turned into this. I really love the fabric.

Thanks for looking!

6  Re: My very pretty pencilcase :D in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Binoo on: September 11, 2007 07:42:33 AM

Here's my version of your pencil case. I had something else in mind when I started but things change. I added a handle and I have 2 zippers because I didn't have one of the right length.

It was a little difficult working with the demin here but I'm proud of the way it turned out -- even if it wasn't perfect.

7  Origami bags and a hip pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Binoo on: August 25, 2007 12:05:33 PM

I found the origami pattern here http://mylittlemochi.typepad.com/my_little_mochi/2005/05/origami_pocket_.html. I just had to try it but I made a some changes of my own. Instead of putting the angle stitch I used a straight stitch down the middle which made 2 usable pockets on each side.

And after I made that one I thought it would also work nicely as a bag and I added a strap for the sides and handle, and left off the drawstring. I later added buttonholes to the flaps and buttons that are practical as well as decorative. (not shown here)

And finally, a cute little hip bag. It has 2 loops on the back for your belt and I added a zippered pocket on the front too.

Thanks for looking!

8  2 bags from a noob in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Binoo on: August 17, 2007 09:21:44 PM
This is my very first time posting here after lurking (and learning a lot) for about 2 months. I would like to thank all the wonderful posters here for all the knowledge that you have thrown out there for me and others to soak up. If you don't here it often enough, thank you and thank you again.

I have always loved to make bags and didn't even consider that there would be a whole community of people like myself out there waiting to be discovered by me. Well, I've found you and I'm glad.

Since I started coming here I've completed about 10 bags, (some of which have been sitting unfinished for years) and numerous pouches. For now, I'll just show you the most recent 2.

The first one is my interpretation of this bag:
I fell in love with it but couldn't bring myself to spend the $8 for the pattern. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

For this next bag, I wanted to incorporate as many of the techniques I learned here as possible. So, here are all the tutorials that helped:

Side pocket

Zipper pocket tutorial

Jordy bag

Imbedded zipper top

I'm not so impressed with my zipper closure. It didn't turn out like I wanted it to but it's my first so I'm not beating myself up... but if anyone has any tips to offer I'm all ears. The corners didn't seem right. I didn't use any interfacing there and I'm wondering if that could be a part of the problem.

Ok, enough rambling, feedback is welcome.
