11  Re: brimmed slouchy hat(6pics) pattern added(pg1) in Crochet: Completed Projects by dreadlochness on: January 25, 2008 10:29:17 PM
I tried this pattern today, and unfortunately my hat wound up looking all funky.  Instead of the body of the hat being round, it's all lumpy looking.  I included a picture, but I took it with my cell phone so it's a pretty awful shot.  I'm not sure how this got so botched, but I'm thinking maybe the gauge of the needle or the weight of the yarn?  I think I followed the pattern properly.  Any thoughts?

12  Rectangle patterned head/dreadband! in Crochet: Completed Projects by dreadlochness on: January 24, 2008 11:53:05 PM
I have been bitten by the crafting bug lately and have been cranking out projects left and right.  This little guy I whipped up today during downtime at work.  It's a rectangle pattern in a stony grey split by bands of lime and terracotta.  The yarn is Lion Brand CottonEase and is 50% cotton and 50% acrylic.

13  funky felt hair accessories - 2 bobby pins, 1 ponytail holder in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by dreadlochness on: January 24, 2008 12:20:32 AM
i just finished making these funky hair accessories.  for the bobby pins, i cut out some circles of felt, sewed them together, and sewed them onto a standard bobby pin.  the ponytail holder consists of two pieces of felt that i handfelted together, and a button, which is sewn onto the top and attached to a seamless black hair elastic underneath.  i love them!

14  In Bloom with different flower detail in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by dreadlochness on: January 23, 2008 10:45:38 PM
i just finished this in bloom clutch from happy hooker and i love it.  i used a different flower pattern than the one designated for this project, also from hh.  i lined the inside with super soft wool from a sweater vest i got at a thrift shop and sewed in a snap enclosure.  this was my first completed project from hh, and one of my first times ever following a pattern.  hoorah!

15  crochet blanket (fit for a queen-size bed) in Crochet: Completed Projects by dreadlochness on: January 23, 2008 09:12:46 PM
hi all!

this is my first completed project post, and it's one i'm super proud to display.  i made this blanket for my boyfriend for christmas out of single skeins of yarn of varying weights, colors, and textures.  it's all single crochet and i worked in different directions, hooking into side knots for a sort of patchwork look.  the pictures are not great, my apologies.

it took about two months of work to complete, but i worked on it alongside several other projects.  since it was such a simple stitch, it was easy to zip right along.
