21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Show me your Christmas tree! on: December 10, 2009 07:23:15 PM
This is my first Christmas on my own, so I went with 2 small trees that are just my taste. One is a pink tree decorated in only silver and a couple little birds. The other is an antique aluminum tree decorated in pink, green and blue!

23  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Holiday Cat! on: December 06, 2009 04:02:55 PM
I wanted my kitty to look fancy for the holidays since we'll be traveling around a bit. And who doesn't like to look fancy during the holidays? Anyways, my cat doesn't take well to clothing (who's does?) so I made something I knew she would wear. Without further ado...holiday fur collar.

24  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Dr. Who - Tom Baker Sock Monkey on: December 06, 2009 01:07:59 PM
I had to make something for my friend's birthday tomorrow and since he is the one that got me hooked on Dr. Who, I decided the only gift for him was a Dr. Who sock monkey! It's super creepy but I'm pretty proud. I've never made clothing for a sock monkey and that was quite a bizarre feat in my mind. For next year...I must make him a felt tardis and a sock dalek!

25  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Printed Holiday Postcards on: November 25, 2009 11:21:30 AM
yes, it's lino with oil based ink.
26  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Printed Holiday Postcards on: November 25, 2009 11:09:52 AM
I try to make cards for the holidays, using the skills I went to school to gain. So here are this year's version. Relief prints on cardstock. I send them as postcards. Awesomely cheap and very personal.

27  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Where the Wild Things Are....Max(ine?) on: November 06, 2009 03:12:10 PM
I really wanted to be Max for Halloween, but I also wanted to feel cute (having been on a job search and a break up this summer have helped me put on the pounds). Furry pajamas seemed like they might be crazy unflattering on me. Anyways, I made the adorable hat thanks to the pattern I found on Craftster but then what?!

My solution: an adorable little white jumper. Then I made arm warmers and leg warmers to tie it all together. I had an amazing black boa that I used as the tail (I thought it was a bit more true to the book and super cheap since I had it laying around)

Without further ado, I give you hipster/female Max

I look so sad in this last pic (I promise I wasn't!), but you can see the hat I made for my friend that she used in her ZombieUnicorn costume.

28  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: we all live in a yellow submarine on: October 25, 2009 07:58:55 PM

29  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Tardis costume on: October 24, 2009 09:21:40 PM
and how big of nerds does it make us that we actually think of dirty tardis jokes?
30  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Tardis costume on: October 24, 2009 08:57:45 PM
i'm in love with the two of you! and not in a creepy way, promise. this is exactly the inspiration i need to start on my dr who sock monkey. super awesome costumes! however, i find myself trying not to make some insulting joke about the tardis being bigger on the inside. *bites tongue*

i might be a tardis next year now.
