1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: homecoming dress from laaast year (PURPLE!!) on: October 07, 2008 05:32:38 PM
ok moving on from the cleavage thing and the fact that you look beautiful in your dress, lol, did you use a pattern? or did you just make it yourself? it totally reminds me of this beautiful dress at anthropologie.com that I saw a while ago... great job!
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: what is the overall best carrier oil to use in body scrubs? on: May 01, 2008 03:14:32 PM
thank you everybody! this helps a lot for next time that I go shopping! One question: is getting oil at a supermarket the same or worse than buying the same kind of oil in a cosmetic/natural beauty shop?
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / what is the overall best carrier oil to use in body scrubs? on: April 22, 2008 10:00:59 AM
I know carrier oils have different properties, but does it really matter if I use sweet almond oil or jojoba oil or macademia oil? I have normal skin and would just like a moisturizing, easily absorbed and emollient carrier oil as a base in body scrubs. I know alligatorjuice started a topic on this a while ago but I just get confused the more I read info on carrier oils because they all seem so similar. If anyone has a personal favorite, tried and tested oil they prefer, could you please let me know? thank you!
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: AH!-mazing body scrub recipe that makes your skin glow! on: April 21, 2008 02:52:00 PM
i made a similar scrub except instead of olive oil I used grape seed oil, which is readily available as a cooking oil... grape seed oil isn't as expensive as some other fancy base oils and it also doesn't really smell like anything.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Backless dresses and support on: April 17, 2008 10:04:47 PM
I haven't personally tried them, but there are so called "backless" bras that aren't just stick-on... the one in the picture isn't as deep as you may like but it is worth looking at:

good luck with whatever you choose to do!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Work gift exchange ideas needed (fitness/health/relaxation theme) on: December 14, 2006 10:22:39 PM
hey, i need some ideas for a gift exchange i'm having at work:

occasion: christmas gift exchange (around $15 for a gift, but i'd be willing to spend more)
person: not really one person... i think we are just going to bring our gifts and then randomly select them, so the age group is big-- 20 years old to potentially 50s..., but mainly between 19 years old to 40 years old)
sex: women only.
likes/dislikes: not really sure since i'm not getting a gift for a certain person. it has to be something that lots of women would like, but still unique. (i don't think i want to just get bath stuff which is so typical). Fitness and health stuff is the theme I want to go with, since I work at a gym. I don't want to get lululemon stuff because we always get lululemon stuff for going away gifts, etc., but something related to health/fitness/relaxation would be good. So far I'm thinking fancy "relaxation" tea but if I got that, I want something to supplement it, and I want it to have a sort of theme.
hope that is enough info!
7  EUROPE / FRANCE / phoning a french cell phone from canada.. on: December 14, 2006 09:10:54 PM
J'aimerais savoir comment je peux téléphoner un téléphone céllulaire français (si c'est possible). Est-ce qu'il y a des numéros spéciales qui précède le numéro de téléphone?

I'd like to know how I can phone a french cell phone number (if it is possible). Are there special numbers that precede the actual cell phone number?

Merci en avance!

Thank you in advance!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Anthropologie-inspired, artsy, boho necklace on: September 02, 2006 07:09:18 AM
thanks Crafty_Witch15 for the sweet words! your necklace is gorgeous! love the beads you chose... so random but somehow they work in their randomness, lol. I noticed you were from vancouver... living in the GVRD myself, i'm wondering what your bead source is... I'm always looking for new places to shop. In vancouver I go mostly to country beads, sometimes beadworks on granville island. Have you heard of the new semi-precious shop on Richards, i think? anyhow, great job on the  necklace!
9  CANADA / British Columbia / Re: victoria/vancouver Skanda bead/jewelry store on: September 02, 2006 07:03:38 AM
thanks sooo much for the info... i just might check them out after all...it is so exciting to know of another vancouver bead shop!
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: Tigertail or...? Need advice on what to thread beads on! on: August 27, 2006 02:41:04 PM
another alternative is beadalon. it is better quality than tigertail (which i wouldn't recommend at all) and can be finished using crimps. While I haven't tried softflex or the new softtouch wire, i know beadalon is cheaper than softflex, but still comparably good quality. beadalon comes in different diameters (0.12, 0.15, 0.18 are the basics) and have three quality levels - 7, 19, and 49-- 7 being the lowest quality and 49 being the highest. The numbers refer to the number of mini wires within each strand that are braided/wrapped together then coated with nylon. Beadalon 49 is the most flexible with the nicest drape, i usually bead with beadalon 49 diameter 0.15 or 0.18. i think it's a good stringing material for a variety of projects- lighweight to heavy bracelets and necklaces.
hope this helps some!
