Here's a link to a similar question where I posted my experience with glass paint.

You could also look for an old drafting table to modify. With so many people going to computers the tables are becoming obsolete, and there are manual and electric ones out there.

Maybe if you are in a hurry and the seam wouldn't bother you, you could take 2 sheets and sew them together, or sew a complementary color band near the head.
1874  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: Bar mirror on: June 28, 2007 10:04:36 AM
I recently tried using some glass paint. I used PermaGlaze brand that doesn't need to be baked. I found it kind of challenging to work with because it was thin. I'd be afraid to use a stencil with it because it would probably run under it. It even ran under the masking tape I used on one experiment.

Maybe you could transfer the design in wax pencil or something that would resist the glaze and then fill it in. You'd definitely want to work with it flat.

Hope you can benifit from my struggles!

I'd look for an old 50's credenza (a low cabinet), and paint or decoupage it. I saw one done on tv several years ago that was decoupaged with gold foil that was really cool.

I think deep red or deep purple are the most romantic colors for a bedroom. I wouldn't do the whole room in either color, but perhaps look for a color scheme that uses one of those colors for the walls or the bedding.

Do you need another sister? I'm adoptable!  Wink

I really like the colors, textures, and especially the scale of the beads in relation to eachother.

What about rubber stamps? It's a little low tech, but you could stamp them all over your master sheet and then make the copies.

I was a camp counselor a few years ago, and I took the girls to a local paper company where they offered tours. They also offered buckets of pulp for sale so when we went back to camp the girls and I could make some paper ourselves.
