Title: Viva El Bano!
Post by: Alphaflutterby on June 01, 2006 10:09:44 AM
What do you get when you cross a tiny bathroom, a plain white shower curtain, an art projector and a revolutionary?

Deep conversations in your bathroom.

Hope you like!

Thanks all.
Though, I think he gets a little lonely. I was thinking of trying to find some black and white photographs of Cuba or Argentina to add to the decor and flavor of the space.

LOL!

It is SO grand, mostly because it is so unexpected!
You weren't afraid to be bold now, were you?
Looks fantastic!

Those are really great ideas Kewlchik. I was thinking of painting the upper portion of the walls red too.

As for a tute, this will be really quick 'cause I don't have cute hand drawn illustrations. Maybe I'll add later.

I used a plain old every day white cloth shower curtain and pinned it up on a wall. I got a pretty cheap artists projector off of ebay. Printed out a picture of Che that I liked and was most like the iconic ones that are everywhere. Placed picture under projector. Projected image onto the shower curtain and traced it. There was some finageling with the projector and trying to get it the right hight and getting all of the image on to the curtain. Lots of books were involved. Then I just used acyclic paint and filled in the outline. Let it dry and voila!

Thanks!

Thats awesome! Too add to it could you download Cuba pics from online and greyscale them and / or blow up parts of his speeches and frame them?

"El Bano" is one of the only things I know in spanish (it is spanish, right?) So I clicked. And I'm glad I did. Very cool.

Haha I clicked because of "Bano" as well.  Not at all what I expected, but totally awesome.  My roommate would love this!

Perhaps some vintage revolution posters (they're pretty easy to find cheap on ebay) and a potted palm would help for the rest of the bathroom.
