I like this idea. I'm going to be keeping my eye on this swap and hopefully join up closer to the end of the sign-ups ending!

Well I hope someone will sign-up eventually or I'll just be swapping with myself.

But then...that's not so bad...I love my work.

heh, i didn't see this one until today---  i was reading some posts over in yard crafts about a lady who was raising monarchs... which led me to look up about pet bugs in the library.  did you know that the pill bug is actually a crustacean and not a bug at all?  (they're those grey little things underneath rocks, etc. that curl up into a ball)

I should sign up for this.  I've taken pictures of bugs that I've seen that were unusual and I keep them on my cameraphone to show people "the giant fly by my car"  or "the moth that looked like a giant leaf" and most recently "the preying mantis next to an empty planter with no trees or bushes around".

My signature animal is the bumble-bee...

I also love dragonflies...

I can see it now...little crocheted stuffies of earthworms...or bumble-bees...etc etc.

Ahhhh! I wish time would fly faster. I have a pet millipede (his name is Tubbs) and I would LOVE this swap. I have to wait, though. I'll keep an eye out for the gallery though!

Well...the sooner we get the next four people the earlier we can start the swap...

So...if anyone has a friend who qualifies for the swap process...send them this way.

Though I'd really like to I'm not gonna sign up for this after all... due to a possible job change I may have to finish a massive school project, pack up our entire house, move across the state, and start a new job all within the time period of this swap :)  I will be watching to see how everybody's bugs turn out though.  I'm sure everybody who's participating will have fun!

OKAY! People should have their swap partners info...and everyone should see the swap as "in progress" on their profiles.

Any questions?

Now...get crafting, folks!   ;D

trifarina...I, too, thought this was going to be an Amish inspired swap. I initially clicked on it to see how that was going to work out. Glad I did!

(crickets chirping)

How you guys doing with the swappage?

I'm really happy to have had a weekend of frenetic inspirado. It's been a weird week. Bug-ful. I keep going back to the fabric store, ostensibly for the one notion I need to finish a component, and winding up with armfuls of fabric for my stash, yards of interfacing (it's on sale!), remnants, buttons, gadgets. It's been fun, but financially shameful.

Yep.  Same for me, too.  Just when I think I have enough craft stuff, I pick out a new book from the library and start a new craft.  I'm actually going back to the craft store today... but I'm also in four other swaps ;)

I'm nearly finished, but one of my ideas was a complete flop in practice.  (irid3sc3nt, I wasn't just asking your hat size to throw you off the trail...  contrary to what you might think when you open the box and find no hat...)
I just need to think of one more smallish thing...

that's okay.  i'm having trouble with gauge differences.  how annoying.  However, I have used new materials quite succesfully.  I'm happy with the results!  (I'm glad there's still time until the sendout date)

I'm very close, but that doesn't mean my procrastinating self won't wait until the last minute to get the final teeny bit done. Probably mail late this week. But it's international, which means long shipping time, so my pix probably won't enter into the gallery equation.

Good news.  finished up all items for Grasshopper last night.  Unfortunately it is double digits below zero here - so am not planning a trip to town today and PO closed Sun and Mon.  So don't expect to mail out until regular trip to town day which is Wed the 22.

Aw, I wish there had been PMs to announce the extended date.  Would have loved some extra time to work on this, but I didn't know the date was extended.  Oh well, the package is sent now and filled with lovely things nonetheless, just ended up in a bit of a rush.

Another way to keep up with changes or extensions in a swap is to post in the swap topic (like here) to both share and keep up with progress and events.

I ... have ... mailed.

The clerk at the post office was very kindly. It was the first time I'd mailed something internationally. Very exciting. Actually, side note: there was a HUGE long line at the passport window -- either it's always that busy, or there's some sort of immigration paperwork deadline approaching, or an extended family of about 50 people decided to all get their passports on the same day. The line to mail stuff was blissfully short. Anyway, clerk said it should arrive in 7-10 days.
