Title: Planters with plants for necklace charms.
Post by: CatwithSevenToes on May 13, 2019 11:19:15 AM

Here's the link for the planter charms (https://imgur.com/a/ak3N1XR) that I'll be working on.  After my pains subside enough and I finish preparing my garden I'll start a tutorial, as I really don't use that many things for making these.

Miniature Sarracenia, and Calla lily necklaces.

A vague Howto make the Sarracenias (https://imgur.com/a/rOHhtBS) are here.

Heliamphoras (https://imgur.com/a/MJh1QHC) are here. (The Healiamphoras are made the same, just without the lids).

Howto: Calla lilies (https://imgur.com/a/G7Jc6qm)

I'm still trying to figure out how to do tutorials, heh.

That's pretty awesome and the possible variations on that theme would be endless.  Single planter earrings would be super neat-o too.

What a neat idea!  The planters & plants are so tiny and perfect.  You have mad skills in making miniature things :)

Thanks, everyone.

The next one I'm working on, I'm attempting ("attempting" that's the keyword, heh), is three pots of herbs.  Don't have really anything I can use, though. I can finagle onions and chives easily enough, but parsley, basil, etc? Not so much, O_o.  Meh, I'll figure something out.

I'd not say "mad" skills, but I have "magnifying glasses", HAHA.

Thanks everyone.

Edit: EUREKA! I think I finally found out what to do about earrings...

Now just to figure out how to do a tiny vine that would wrap around the wire.

I just updated with the next three I made hoping to sell them.  Fingers crossed I can get into to see a doctor by the end of this next month.  (Have to wait for any returns, :'( ). Eh! I can't wait. Planter pics (https://imgur.com/a/ak3N1XR). (Same link as in the first post, but meh, rewrite it).

Got an idea from someone at the Imgur site to attempt magnets. Plus, I had this idea to do a tiny Adiantum (maidenhair) fern leaf out of 14 gauge copper wire.  These are going to be quite neat.

Maidenhair attempt and the first of a series of designer wall mounted planters that could be arranged geometrically.

Edit: An additional item for the wall mounted planters...And, I forgot to oil the wood on the last piece...Woops...Anyway, any extra images can be found at my imgur album (https://imgur.com/a/ghgIJzB).

A cat tree...A bloody cat tree...As a magnet. Can you believe that?  :o

Next three are done...
This one is the best one, as I've not been feeling well and had done a horrid job on all of them (Lack of sleep make the pains a tad more fun, yeesh).  Anyhoo, I messed up on this wood pot and made it too long, which gave me the idea to put only two instead of three. I think I kind of like this, and can add it as a variant.

The next two (posting as links to save on image loading on ya'll's computers, phones, etc, which reminds me I need to thin up some of my posts here,  :o).  Anyhoo, tried something different, used brown jute instead of white and I think it works as well.

The first one the wood pot broke, woops, but I decided to leave it and finish it, but it does seem to have some interesting qualities to it, and gives me an idea of attempting a broken pot laying on its side with a plant coming out of spilled soil.

That is so darling! I could see it as a super cute magnet, too.

Ooooh nooooo!  My wife just told me the ones I made for her have become sticky, and I looked over some of the others I made and sure enough, the Krylon finish I sprayed over them reacts with the polymer clay and makes them fairly sticky.  Craaaaaap!

Polymer clay, when cured, is vinyl

Welp, now I know I can make records out of the clays, HA HA HA HA HA!

Either way, attempting to make a couple all out of wood to replace the ones I sent out.

An update to the first post. I finished two necklaces, one with a Sarracenia made from Starburst wrappers (The best color in my opinion), and another with two calla lilies.

(The first post has more information).
