Title: Butterfly Shadow Boxes
Post by: meleriffic on January 22, 2019 07:23:55 AM

I was lucky enough to receive a Cricut Maker for Christmas and decided to use it to make some decor for my little girls room.

I used the tutorial and SVG file for a butterfly pop up card from
The blog JenniferMaker: https://jennifermaker.com/diy-pop-butterfly-card-tutorial-easy-5-x-7/. To give them dimension I put 5 foam adhesive squares under the back of the butterflies.

Cool stuff; they're all nice, but I like the lower left one the most, as I feel that sample has the best color choices, figure/background contrast, and smaller butterfly arrangements.

These are so pretty! What a great way to use cards, too!

This is such a pretty project!  I have always wanted one of these real butterfly displays but felt guilty having a real dead butterfly, even though they are gorgeous.  Makes me wonder how the industry gets these real insects for those types of displays.

So pretty! What a neat idea.

Butterfly sanctuaries probably collect them when they die. Their lifespan is not very long.
