Title: Assemblage Artist Palette
Post by: geekgirl1000100 on July 28, 2018 10:56:25 AM
I made this for cmarion in the Assemblage art swap. I got inspired by this picture on Pinterest.

The original artist used pan pastels which I didnít have. I thought I would be able to grate some chalk pastels and use that but they werenít very vivid. So I ended up dry brushing everything with metallic acrylics in copper and teal.

I am so glad you gave this it's own thread - it is SO IMPRESSIVE. I know I already commented in the swap thread, but I really love how it catches your eye and you have to come back for looks 2, 3, 4!  Every time you see something new. And the depth in the colors is just really beautiful.  superb work

SUPER \m/ !

This is really neat and I've never seen an assemblage attached to a paint palette before either.  While I know they don't, it's fun to imagine that this is what an assemblage artist actually works from (although the palette, and everything on it, would have to be magnetic for that to really work).  The metallic coloration ties everything together great too.

Do you know what the little guy next to the domino is from?  I know a lot about toys but I don't recognize that figure at all.  The fist coming up from below him makes it look like he's in for a world of hurt!

I don't know.  I either got it in a whimsy jar or in a grab bag when I ordered random vintage supplies online.
It looked like some sort of robot and was a coppery brown.  About the quality (or lack of) as a gumball toy.
