Title: Weeping angel
Post by: storerboughtcreations on July 25, 2018 09:50:37 PM
I made a weeping angel from one of the best episodes of Doctor Who. She stands about 4.5Ē tall. I havenít decided if she should be a keychain or an ornament. Is 4.5Ē too big for a keychain?

Very cool! My daughter would love that. I vote for ornament. 4.5" would be a pretty huge keychain, IMO

Awesome! Maybe attach her to your purse strap? You'll definitely get lots of compliments!

Hang her from the rear view! She's fantastic and should see the world!

Awesome job on your gray angel; you captured a lot of character and emotion with the relatively simple form.  I've never seen that particular episode, but I've seen images of them online enough times that I recognize what they are anyway.

Given the size, I suppose an ornament would be a better classification.  You might be able to shrink it a bit too if you laundered the angel (not sure if that'd damage it or not though)?

Do you have a link to the pattern for this? I might have to give it a try for my girly . . .

I used the following pattern. Itís on the Way Back Machine site, and warning, it may work on some devices but not others. I canít get the pattern from my iPhone, but can get it just fine on my laptop. Maybe the browser makes the difference?

Thanks!! Bookmarking it to make for my daughter when I get a minute of free time! (or many minutes - I haven't checked on how complex it may be . . . )

It took me just over 30 minutes to make the angel pictured using worsted weight yarn. I made a second one with lace weight yarn, and that took me longer as it was harder to see the tiny stitches, but not too much longer. Itís a pretty fast project.

Okay . . . you are WAY faster than I am! I made the body in 45 minutes with worsted weight - need to still make the head, wings, arms, hair and put it together!! Yowzers. But I think my daughter will be happy, so on I work! :)
