Can I just say in my defence that I have no will power and it was a difficult emotional weekend.

That said, I received  ;D Happily the box was really well packaged, because the postman left it outside the back door for a few days.

The plan was to just open the box, look at the stocking and then put it away until closer to christmas, sensible right? Then it was just 'oh lets just open this larger one that didn't fit into the stocking' which became ' I will just open one a day'. But as the weekend became more and more emotional more got opened. You know the cure for bad weekends, craftster christmas stockings ! I got amazing amazing stuff.

I am at work now and realise that I don't have a great picture of the stocking itself. This is the lovely box it was packed in and a lot of beautifully wrapped goodies (I love the paper and it is being saved)

first out were Nommy dutch goodies, syrup waffles, some gorgeous gingerbread bites and a big bar of chocolate-amazingly they are not all gone yet

then a snitch for my harry potter tree! I told Wilma that we have a HP tree and she made me some amazing decorations for it. The snitch will go at the top in place of a star

Other HP decorations and stuff. A brilliant dragons egg and a dragon eye (this is a broach but is so going on the tree) and a great collection of fridge magnets, these are Hogwarts seals. Already on my fridge

And I love these, all for my tree, which will look fabulous as a result. Two flying keys, two wands and these brilliant potions bottles, a felix felisis. which looks as though there is real gold leaf floating in it and a bottle of gillyweed, which is so clever. And the cutest little needle felted owl.

And there is even more. As you may know  have a slight obsession with flamingos, so she really fed that obsession, these little patches (the larger one can be work as a broach) and necklace and some fabulously dangly earrings to go with them.

and this wicked stamp set (I have already used it to print fabric, the result is here (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=453603.0) And it has sent me in an entirely new fabric printing direction,

and if that weren't enough this great flamingo fabric (I was completely spoiled)

And there is more, I love shrines and hearts. This could not be more perfect for me. it is so pretty and delicate.

And last, but most definitely not least, one of my favourite items- I also have a thing for tentacles- It is a hook, but I would be terrified to actually put anything on it and break it, it is screwed into the side of one of my shelves where I can look at it.

Thank you so much Wilma. I am sorry that I didn't have enough willpower to put this away. And I am sorry for the entire rest of the swap as everyone now has major swap anxiety (including me!) but thank you for making my weekend so much better.

I'm so happy that you liked it! I really did my best to make things I thought you would love. So I stalked your Pinterest like crazy ;) And yes, the Felix Felicis has gold leaf in it :)

I'm also really glad that I packaged everything in that plastic shopper!

I really want to know how you made the water splash around the tentacle?

Title: Re: Christmas Stocking round 13 Swap Gallery
Post by: JS on October 31, 2017 03:58:29 PM
Spectacular stocking and goodies!  The tentacle has such realistic detailing - would be a shame to hide it underneath something or use it as a hook.  Look at all the flamingos!  They will remind you of warm beaches on forthcoming chilly winter days.  I love the tiny owl.

I made it from a waterbottle. I cut of te screw part and then used te top 4 cm. (Does that make sense?) I then cut the splash shape and shaped it further with a lighter.

Wow awesome & early!!!  I love the Harry Potter things & especially those potion bottles & the cute owl & also the magnets.  I so love all the flamingo things, the patches, the fabric, especially the printing kit, that is soi cool. The fabric you printed on is cool too. The tentecles is very well exucated & we'll done. This will be the first one I see. I'm going in for my back surgery tomorrow so won't be on here for a day or so. I can't wait to see more. Well you all have fun!

Bugaboo1, that is a fantastic package.  I especially like the winterscape and wood burn artworks.  Including your children's names is a sweet personal touch on the ornament.   Yay for pet rescue!

lindyv321, your Oogie stocking is too cute for words.  The Christmas tea looks yummy and perfect in this weather. I like how the ELF needlework piece incorporates a touch of nature with the stick.  Great package.

I received from Averia and will open/post soon.

I received from Bugaboo1 yesterday, and she sent such a wonderful package of things for both me and my sister! She had everything wrapped up so nicely, but I opened it in the car so I did not get pictures of everything all wrapped up.

Here is everything (minus some slippers that I had already put on, LOL).

Here are the super cute stockings. The blue one was for me and the pink one was for my sister. They both had some lip balm and handmade soap inside.

An adorable bird bowl, super sweet bird ornament, and 2 little clips.

A pair of pants made out of the prettiest bird fabric!

2 mugs with Santa suit cozies. One for me and one for my sis. They are so cute! And they were filled with Dove truffles and hot cocoa mix.

A pair of slippers that I had pinned on my Pinterest board. I love these so much! They are so cute and comfy!

A saran wrap ball filled with candy, along with instructions for a game to play with it. This is so cool, and I can't wait to play it!

A Dobby doll. Words cannot describe how much I love this! He even has a sock!  ;D

These cat ears were for my sister, and she is in love with them! I am not sure if it was intentional (I'm can't remember if I said her favorite animals were hairless cats, or if I just said cats), but they are the color of a hairless cat and my sis just can't get over how great that is, LOL. She has been wearing them since she opened them last night, she only took them off to sleep.  ;D

She sent me a beginner crochet set, along with a piece she started for me and instructions to finish it. Crochet has been something that I have really wanted to learn to do. I really appreciate this kit, and am excited to learn and practice!

And finally, a beautiful grey poncho. I absolutely love this, it is gorgeous! It is so soft. I am actually wearing it right now. :)

Steph, thank you so much for this wonderful package! I love everything so much!

I'm glad you and your sister both liked it and yes the ears were intentionally the color of a hairless cat lol

But now with a winter break coming up you can learn to crochet!

Dobby with a sock - brilliant!  Those slippers and pajama pants look cozy and comfy.  Handmade soap will pamper you.  The stockings are very sweet.

I received a fantastic package of goodies from Averia!  She is a truly amazing lady who stalked me well.

The entire package wouldn't fit in one photo.  Look at the elegant stocking.  How did she fit all those packages inside it?

Detail of the wreath - darling little bird nestled in pinecones, holly, and ivy.  Averia chose different luscious shades of soft flannel for this wreath and it will match any room in my home.

Averia honed in on my fetish for table runners and mugrugs, and created this gorgeous set.

Here they are on my table.

She sent Pecan Delights and Lindor Hazlenut Truffles, which have been shared with family.  One of my favorite Christmas symbols is the star in the night sky.  Averia sent a journal with the star motif, and a set of gel pens that will come in handy with my card making.

    So pretty

HURRAW! brand lip balm is a favorite that I don't get very often.  Ave tucked 3 flavors into the stocking.  I am now well prepared for this winter.  She made bird ornaments that are simply amazing.   Check out the detailed stitching.   They are now hanging on our tree.

Averia, thank you so much for the wonderful pressies!  Your thoughtfulness and creativity have made my Holiday Season extra special.

Happy Holidays, everyone, however you celebrate!

WARNING!! PIC HEAVY!!!

My amazing box from seeuudee arrived last weekend, but as she said that a card was missing I kept it unopened until Tuesday (the card arrived Monday). And then aaaall the goodies!! Wow!!

First of all my wonderful fandom stocking (she's used suit trousers for it, what a fab idea!! And it kinda screams DOCTOR to us!!)

There are stocking fillers in it which I won't open until Christmas day.

Then she's spoiled my girls. They got their "alter ego" canvasses and a box of goodies (they adore the mini Christmas tree and all the decorations. And the pens and booklets.. ). Thank you soo much, seeuudee!! Big hugs from the girls to you down south!!

Further on to my items... Nice HP paper tree decorations.. one tree for each house, as we're a full Hogwarts family. ;-)

Two sock snowmen!! So cute!!

Chocolates!! Prosecco and from my favourite chocolate shop (Hotel Chocolat) some Mulled Wine chocs!! (Let's hope I survive them better than the small glass of mulled wine I had yesterday!! 😂😂).

A journal and pens!!

And then... If you wondered what happened to the rest of those suit trousers seeuudee upcycled... A trouser bag!! It's her prototype. I'm not a "bag in the city" person (prefer backpacks), but can see me use it for crop days and other occasions. Tomorrow will be the first outing for the bag and I definitely will give her feedback from my friends.

The bag is straight at the bottom... I just didn't move the tissue paper out of the way!!

Oh, and jingling wand pens!! Must not forget those!!

Absolutely love everything, and can't believe there's more to open on 25th!! 😍😘😘😍

Ok I've been a bad organizer. I have commented ZERO times on everyone's packages! Bad organizer! Bad! But now I'm here to rectify it! After I've pinned most of it anyway lol.

bywilma,
Seriously amazing package. I love the snitch and dragon's egg and eye. The house crests are way awesome as are the potions. I love that tentacle hook and the love without end shadow box!! And seriouly, those Harry Potter ornaments! My favorite are the keys with wings and have decided that I need to make those for my tree haha.

Allons-y,
that cute list ornament is adorable!! Is it made from a thread spindle? The "snow" and "joy" art are so pretty and perfect for the season. I absolutely love the bangle bracelets. As a dog mom (and kid mom haha) we've rescued all of our dogs and I just love it.

Bugaboo1,
you can sew me those pants any time you like, girl! lol. The crocheted bird ornament is just so sweet. Those Santa mug cozies are wonderful and stuffed with all those goodies! I think I found my project for next year for co-workers and neighbors! The slippers look so cozy and that poncho should have been sent to my house. Shame on you! But DOBBY!!! With ONE SOCK! I just love him and you did such a great job. :)

Averia,
I love the flannel wreath with the holly. So sweet. It just makes me think "warmth" when its cold out like today. I love those beautiful mug rugs and the table runner. The "shine like the stars" art is lovely and makes me want to listen to Coldplay. Those bird ornaments are stellar! So detailed!

seeuudee,
I think you accidentally sent that stocking to the wrong house! Because it should be on MY mantle!! I love those Christmas trees and that trouser bag is the coolest! Hello Doctor! The snowmen are super cute, too. Are they filled with rice? I want to squeeze them. :)

Ok I think that's all for now. And now it's my turn to post my goodies from lindyv321!! Back in a few...

Title: Re: Christmas Stocking round 13 Swap Gallery
Post by: Audania1 on December 15, 2017 09:12:36 AM
lindyv321 sent me such a lovely package!! Here's the first bit:
A super soft long-sleeved tshirt that I'm wearing as I type this. I'm so excited to use this washi tape dispenser! I have tapes and this comes with some but it's so nice to have an easy way to get it out!. Some delicious lip balm that my children confiscated the moment the picture was over. There's a beautiful paper chain kit that we will be using for next year and a wooden picture frame to decorate with sweet seasonal stuff. Cute santa cards with room for a picture on the front. A beautiful make your own necklace kit! My favorite though is the turkish drop spindle!! I've wanted one for so long!! Thank you!!

And this was all in my stocking! Can you believe it??!! Don't worry - I was nice and shared with my family haha. The little reindeer necklace is super cute and I adore the tiny spatulas. They will come in extremely handy with my chocolate melter. I will be using the face mask this weekend and I totally appreciate the stretchy ponytails! I have dreadlocks and anything large/loose to hold them back is always welcome.

And check out this fabulous stocking! I can see why it gave her trouble - that soft fabric must have been a beezy to work with. But it's so soft and I absolutely love the image so I totally appreciate all the trouble you went through!

This "Joy" pallet is too cute

And I love the "December 25"th sign! So does my kiddo. :)

And such a cute little hand painted tree ornament!

She also sent a Rudolph game! So fun!! We are going to visit family for Christmas and will be bringing this as there will be lots of kids.

My favorite thing, however, is this little snow guy. Just look at how cheerful he is in his little snow dome!!!

Thank you, Lindy, for everything! We love it all and you are such a sweetheart to include so many things I can share.

Wow, such an amazing package - love the stocking.  And I love the pallet sign, but I genuinely cannot see the word joy - all I can see is noel? Am I looking at it the wrong way?

I am off to Brownies Christmas Carol Service in a mo, but have all the photos on the computer now, so will be posting pics the minute I get back. I have another amazing stocking to share :D

And yes, the little snowmen are filled with rice - they are made from socks and I love making them. They are so tactile and squidgy :D

That just makes it even better!

Right, everything has aligned and I can share my lovely stocking from Inselaeffchen.

First up, everything together

Then the amazing stocking, which is so me. It celebrates many of my fandoms - HP, Outlander, Mortal Instruments, DC, Marvel and Supernatural

And - most excitingly - the lights actually flash. The switch is hidden in the seam, so even though Kat had told me where the switch was, it took me a while to find it :D

Two fantastic Flourish and Blotts bookmarks -

Four gorgeous HP coasters

Not one, but two hanging decorations - an adorable elf and a knitted Hufflepuff scarf

Some crafty supplies - I adore the stamp that states "The snowman made me buy it"

A very yummy Stollen, which I adore

And lastly, Kat included some treats for Hazel, especially chosen by Santa

(She will actually sit like that until someone tells her she can eat it!)

Thank you for a fantastic swap

I am horribly unforgivably late in posting pictures of the fantastic stocking I received.

Here is everything all together even though it really doesn't even fit on my desk. I can't believe this was JS' idea of a small package!!! It contained the most gorgeous stocking to go with my blue and silver christmas theme,  2 very post reticules with so many lovely details, a set of six blue & white toile coasters (I think this is the 3rd package I have received with this fabric :D I do love it so!) a cute santa tree ornament made with so much precision, a framed map with a heart circling Buffalo where my husband and I met, adorable snowmen clothespins, vegan lipbalm, bookmarks,  an air freshener, and the most amazing plastic canvas teapot! It is amazing and so much fun! Just to make it extra awesome, it is a tissue dispenser with the tissues coming out of the spout. JS said she sent it along with the idea of tea parties with my grandbaby. oooh oooh ooh, which reminds me, there is a special hello kitty cup for the grandbaby, but unfortunately I didn't get a shot of the cup with everything else. The baby loves it!

Where it all began! so uniquely framed and so special to me.

my office light is terrible - the colors of the reticules are much more beautiful than they show here in this picture!

Did I mention loving this stocking? Seriously, love this stocking!

I had to show multiple views of this tea pot. It is fabulous and going to get so much use in tea parties not to mention giving me a smile when my allergies hit.

Thank you JS! Love swapping with you!!!

I have just gone back for another look and can also see Joy now!

And I love that blue and silver stocking. I do love the blue and silver colour theme, but I have been collecting my red/green/gold for so long now, I would have to completely start again with everything. I am also quite liking the bronze/copper and burgundy colour theme that is becoming more popular. Maybe I just need more than 1 tree :D

I received from roler a few weeks ago, but beyond confirming nothing was broken, I closed it back up to open on Christmas! (It just worked out this year, my family is all separated, so this was my gift to me!)

roler made me the softest, most velvety-est stocking in teal and bronze. She also made a small sweater pillow - sent with form!

I just adore blues...

A block of Japanese cloth, constellation socks, a bag of assemblage buttons and beads, the CUTEST stitched felt owl, and a pair of felted ice skates! I think it's an ornament, but those two are going on my fridge. Her note is on a linocut print winter scene and a small container.

roler also sent a book box with a small red shishi (Chinese dragon), used in the Japanese New Year festival. (I thought that was interesting.) And 2 white Japanese masks - surprisingly heavy! I'm happy they didn't break during shipping. Finally, 2 small crochet flowers roler said are made by a 90 yo woman who leaves them at a temple in Okayama for anyone who want them. I hope I am still making when I am 90.

She also sent washi tape and a small green boot, like what I received as a kid! And SO MANY SNACKS! all with Japanese print! Fun! Can't wait to try them!

Thanks, roler, for being my buddy! I really enjoyed exploring my package on Christmas! I hope yours was equally fun and relaxing!

Cheers to everyone - y'all are so talented! I hope YOU are all making when you are 90!

Hugs and bugs,
JClove

Averia I'm glad you like your goodies!  It's been wonderful being partnered with you.  The table runner made our Christmas dinner all the more special, and the bird ornaments you made received numerous compliments on our tree.  People are amazed at how identical the birds are to the pinned pictures.  I love my stocking.

Everyone's stockings and goodies are fabulous.  Each and every item radiates thoughtfulness and love from the sender.  The individual personalities and crafty skills are truly awesome.  I admire the patience of those who hold out until the holiday before opening.

My stocking was received and confirmed via PM.

I knit a hooded poncho as she had several pinned. She likes "royal" colors, so I thought this was a good fit.

A zippered book made from a Harry Potter hardback. She pinned many owls, so I thought this was fun.

I found a neat leather bracelet, and then modified a weird quote claspy thing from another section with a traditional dragon she had pinned from last years swap round. I decoupaged it, and then sprayed several poly layers so it was waterproof.

A zippered pouch with happy snails. I mixed up the interior for some extra fun. Oddly, the snail fabric is a textile my friend picked up in Japan, and maybe it will go back. It was frustrating, though, as the print was not even with the warp/weft of the fabric. I finally just gave up and cut straight across. Go crazy!

A caligraphy necklace and earring set. I had to bust out my drill for this, so that was fun!

An embroidered owl pin. I might have to duplicate this one in a different colorway:

A happy Gnomey treasure box:

She really likes gnomes and I loved all the animals featured - esp the one on the side with a mouse, as she has a degu (which is not a mouse, but similar!). She also likes foxes, owls, and reading, so all the little snapshots of a gnome life was just perfect.

I also sent a Colonial Williamsburg fortune rolling block. It has fun phrases which made me laugh. Notecards, pen, small tube bag, unicorn gum. I think that's all.

The stocking was a regret. I finished the poncho first, and then had it in my mind all the stuff needed to fit, so I just stitched up a simple stocking in marbled colors. Then I saw others just packed the box with the stocking as another gift. So, I wish I would have made a pretty, sweet little stocking, but it's all done now. Whomp whomp

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday! Have fun, but stay safe!

JClove

I've left feedback for everyone - finally!! I hope everyone had a wonderful new year as well as their Christmas!

Inselaeffchen -
that multi-fandom stocking that lights up is just fabulous!! And I definitely need those book marks and coasters.

JS-
That "were it all began" sign is so sweet. What a lovely idea! Those China blue coasters are just beautiful. And I need those reticules!! I love everything Regency and they are perfect as is the stocking with beautiful black lace detail! That teapot is adorable. Is it to hide tissues? What a fab idea!

roler-
I lvoe the blue and bronze stocking. It looks so soft! The little felt owl and skates are just too sweet and I love that Japanese fabric you sent!! I love that you sent those crochet flowers and the sweet story about the old woman who leaves them.

JoyfulClover-
That knit poncho is just so adorable and over the top! The hardback zipper book is simply the coolest. I would take that everywhere. The owl pin and the dragon bracelet are so lovely but I think my favorite is that calligraphy necklace and earrings set. What a neat idea! I may have to steal that idea for one of my kiddos.

Lovely job everyone! I'm so happy there was no flaking and that edelC's mysterious package arrived! I really hope bywilma will post photos but I see she hasn't been on in about a month. edelC, could you post photos? Im sure everyone wants to see them!

Helllooooo!!!  I am insanely late here but I figure better late than never!

I am SO sorry I was so absent for most of this round, and I can't believe I never posted the pictures of my incredible stocking from Joyful Clover!  I see she posted pics of the things she sent, but I'd like to post my photos of them as well because you guys, these gifts are just too wonderful!!

The stocking itself was ENORMOUS because she actually made it big enough to put ALL of her generous gifts inside!!!  Love it!

Inside was this great Santa sack, which my dad can now use when he dresses up as Santa for the little cousins (he's got the white beard and belly without props now! ;P):

And inside THAT was this stunning poncho!!  Look at the detail on that!  And I LOVE the rich purples!!  It fits great and is so warm and soft and this alone is such a huge gift I am just bowled over by her generosity!

Pouches and boxes are always useful for a crafter!!  The adorable gnome box (seriously I love it so much!) is already in use holding some notions, and I plan to sort a bunch of my embroidery thread and craft cord and put some in those cheerful pouches!

Here's the back of the gnome box, and a couple of the handmade accessories included.  The dragon bracelet is SO up my alley and the detail on this owl brooch is just amazing!!  So perfectly tailored to my tastes; thank you again!

Here are some of the purchased gifts she mentioned; the fortune-telling die cracks me up!!  XD

Oh my goodness you guys; I have wanted a book pouch for so long and the fact that it's made out of a Harry Potter book (with appropriate owl/witch lining!) just makes it THAT MUCH BETTER!!  And the fountain pen nib jewelry is SO GREAT and a wonderful way to show off my love of writing and words!!

Joyful Clover, you were the most wonderful partner someone could ask for; thank you SO much!!  My deepest apologies once more for falling off the face of the planet for a while, but I'm trying to power through my guilt right now and get back into the swing of things! Hope to see everyone around more!
