Title: Celtic Applique Dragon
Post by: noelle on June 11, 2016 02:10:02 PM
made for roler in the Vikings, Pirates & Ninja Swap (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=447897.0)
i used a dobby-weave fabric for the dragon, which gives it some texture. the background is linen.

I went bananas over this in the swap thread and it's still just as cool. I'm going to try this techique on a hoop of my own.

I didn't even notice the dragon's head when I saw the thumbnail image, before I clicked on the thread, that giant reptile is sneaky!  This is a really fun and creative way to embellish the celtic knot motif.  I think that design would also look really neat in 3-Dimensions, perhaps as a necklace pendant or earrings.
