I received the most wonderful package package from LadybugsandBumblebees-and boy did she spoil me, not two patches, not three patches, but four

Two Harry potter themed, a bird themed and a whimsical themed patch:

Some patches from me to embellish myself! What a great idea.

And a tm patch kit!

Here's the kit opened

what a great start!

The tiny scarf is just too cute!

And I love the garden one with the ladybug!

How fun to send some all ready for you to do your thing!

What a fun start to the gallery! I love that she included ready to stitch patches, too.

I've been under the weather, so I'll update status for people tomorrow!

Wow, what a generous package! I love the little scarf patch the most, and the blank patches look so fun to decorate! Lovely little stitches on the borders! :)

stalking, never done a patch before, may try at some point.  Love the portkey button!!!

The portkey button was made for me by smileyyogini in a magic ball of yarn swap. I've been holding onto it for awhile now, till the right project came along.

Those are great patches!

I received a beautiful parcel from curiousfae.
I have to confess I did not come anywhere near as good as this at hitting on either of my partner's themes, I just kind of went with a general feeling instead of something particular. All 3 of these lovelies are perfectly matched to my questionnaire, it's really impressive.

Stars!

Bicycles!

And then all these nicely matched pre-stitched patches which is awesome because I just finished with all the pillows I'd put together for myself to embellish and now I'll be able to keep up the momentum. I folded over the corners to show both sides. And a beautiful flowered card in this shot too.

Thanks curiousfae, awesome swapping with you!

oh sequins!!!  What a good idea!

I love all of the stitching on the cupcake one...

I also love the mix of stitches around the pillows...blanket stitches are something I also did not think of...adding this to my techniques sheet!

Lovely grouping of pillows/poptarts/patches...with a generous amount of extras to keep you going!

Holy cow, curiousfae, I love it all, I can't pick just one thing!  :o

How long did the cupcake one take you?

Not too long. My problem was I didn't know when to stop adding stuff to it. All I kept thinking was, Sprinkles! It needs more sprinkles!

Oooh, curiousfae, I really like all those patches! I think my favorite is also the bicycle.  The delicate swirls around it are really pretty!  I like the shiny sequins on the star one too!

craftylittlemonkey, what a fantastic set of patches! I really do love the bicycle one (I love bicycle images, for some reason), especially the basket of flowers. The Big Dipper one is right up my alley, science-wise, and I agree that the stitching on the cupcake patch is impressive!  I also really like the pre-stitched "pillows." Such a fun addition to the swap package!

Hi "LadybugsAnnBumblebees" Yes it was the The "Christmas Stocking Swap" I think I put in some little charms like the bumblebee & small butterfly & ladybug. That's what I was talking about. It's beautiful & I love it. I'm glad you got to use them. :-*

I was so excited to get my patches from roler!!!  I picked them up at the post office after waiting for about 20 minutes for them to find it (phew!)...I scanned them at work since I couldn't wait to take a picture when I got home...they are fabulous!

I got a bird for my nature theme, a dalek for my Dr. Who theme, a red, black and white (my favorite color combo!), and an Irish lucky charm to celebrate my new Irish/Japanese heritage!

Thank you so much! YAY!

All of these details and your wonderful stitching make me very happy!!

Hi all, I'm still in the hospital. Doing good, but took me off the button medicine & now just pain pills. But it hurts really bad right now. There's ice on it. Can't have my other meds for another hour. So I decided to look on here & see what lovely new patches are here!
"roler" They're all so beautiful & stitch so pretty. But my favorite is the bird one & I like to hang things over the edge too sometimes!!! A awesome package! ;)

This is me after my surgery yesterday. Not beautiful but doing OK!

Feel better Sharalee!
Maybe I can cheer you up with these photos of 2 awesome patches I received from Roler today? They are totally delightful! They came with a sweet note all the way from Japan! I love the popcorn fabric on the gumball machine patch. The stitching is wee and perfect and amazing too  :).

Sharalee, I hope you recover quickly and feel much better!

And craftylittlemonkey, I'm so glad you like the patches!  The popcorn fabric was another piece from LovelyMiss (and the brown wool in the center of the sunflower is from an old suit coat of my dad's!).  I have to admit, it was a little hard to mail the flower one away; I just love how it came out!

They are both fabulous!  Roler--your stitching is just so perfect and tiny...love the button gumballs....how cool that you are spreading the craftster love with the popcorn fabric and that you used a remnant from something of your dad's!  I love this kind of crafting!

As soon as I saw the patches, I pinned them!  :D

Title: Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery

After looking at this gallery, I find it so interesting how much "leeway" there is on how these patches are made.  For example, you can just stitch down some of the patch, and add something to the top. Or, you can do what I just wrote, and then embroider the heck out of it.  The colors, the fabrics, the additions....

I have a bag of patches that I made, that I minimally embroidered.  Then I saw what craftylittlemonkey did with the blank patches she received in this swap, and I realized I REALLY like that look!  So I am going back and embroidering mine much more before I add embellishments.

I can't wait to post some of my patches when I am completely finish them!

Title: Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery
Post by: LadybugsAndBumblebees on April 07, 2016 08:46:23 AM
I also love how the fabric can dictate how the patch should be embroidered.

Title: Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery
Post by: alwaysinmyroom on April 07, 2016 09:47:04 AM
I agree--you can make them as simple or complex as you like!  It is easy to get creative and have fun with these!

Some of the ones I have only have stitching...they are at the back or sides of projects...I take notes of different techniques and things to try, and I do learn a lot from seeing everyone's patches!

Can't wait to see your, LBABB!  You seem to have a lot of fun with these and ATCS!

I love both of those patches! I really love the clever use of the buttons as gumballs, and the details you added on the front of the gumball machine itself are just amazing.  The sunflower patch is gorgeous and I love the texture that you achieved using the different fabrics and embellishments.

LadybugsAndBumblebees, before I joined this swap, or had even watched Teesha Moore's videos, I had seen such a wide variety of themed patches on Craftster. So, when I finally gave them a go, I embraced the anything goes mentality (which seems right in line with TM herself) and started using a bunch of different techniques to fit the themes of my partners. Because my fabric stash is limited (and I can never seem to find really fun fabrics around here), I used the embellishments as the focus of my patch. I started off very embroidery heavy, but I've mixed it up quite a bit since the beginning. You should really check out some of the past galleries to see some of the amazing techniques people have used in the past!

craftADDchick...I perused not only the TM videos, I perused pinterest, AND the galleries from the previous swaps!

I started adding minimal embroidery on my personal ones, but REALLY like the ones that CLM posted, so I've went back and added some more embroidery.

After all the ones that need embroidery are done, I'm going to add embellishments.  My favorites are beads and buttons!  I also have some labels that I've made myself that I want to add to several of the patches.

I'm addicted!  ;D

There's definitely a ton of inspiration! And, I love that you went back and added to the ones you had already "finished." The more you do, the more "liberties" you'll take with the method. And, yes, they are addicting!

plus lots of little extras to add to my patches

thanks so much CLM for my epic swap package!

I got both my packages at the same time!!  And BOTH of my partners spoiled me with extra patches! Thanks so much, guys!

First, here's the package from alwaysinmyroom:

They're so neat and pretty!  The dice one is awesome, since I adore all types of games, and the pull tab on the can of sardines is so funny and clever!!  Look at all that beautiful detail on the white owl patch!  And the bee is so colorful and cute, and the little ones will be wonderful for patching up holes in my upcoming project.

Wonderful variety and gorgeous patches, AiMR! Thank you so much!

And here's the package from craftylittlemonkey:

They're sooo pretty!  The crab is just SO cute, with teensy little beads all around him, and the bead work on the flower is so nice too!!  And I agree with LB&B that the texture from all the little stitches CLM makes is really appealing!

The print on the tadpole patch is a little small to see in that group photo, so here's a closeup:

Just look at those tiny little guys!  I didn't even mention this, but I totally used to catch-and-release tadpoles when I went camping as a kid, so I love this!!

Thank you both SO much!!  These are all fantastic!

And I think it's about time I finally assemble my TM patch sewing machine cover!

I know right?! It's like the craft gods knew. I'm still reeling in disbelief :o

roler, I love the sardine can! So clever aimr.

One of the best things about this swap is seeing all the different kinds of fabric patterns from around the world like the tadpoles and honeycomb one. Too cool!

So i got a whole whack of stuff from Ladybugsandbumblebees. We talked about what we were sending each other, and then she just shrugged and added a bunch of spoilage. Think I'll have to make her more too.  :D

A kit, and unembellished patches for me to play with.

monochrome red, and horoscope 'cancer'

LGBT and gore

Thanks so much LBABB, it was great swapping with you!

Title: Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery
Post by: alwaysinmyroom on April 09, 2016 12:10:21 AM
I am going to have to remember to send patches for my partner to embellish....I think that is the most fun part of making these so it would be fun to at least get them started!  Nice!

I have been seeing a lot of monochromatic patches, which is why I also included an all white one for you, roler...plus, OWL!  I love owls; you love owls...owls! ;D

lol the extras were to pad the embellishments so that I did not have to use bubblewrap...lol...maybe patches will be my future padding for a lot of swap packages! ha ha

CLM--I adore the felted heart!!!  You give me so many ideas for using up my scrap collection.  Can I come live you for a while? ;D (with my stash?)

LBABB--lol the gore is clever!!

The Dolly DIngle swap part is just fabulous...the pairing was meant to be, I tell ya! Meant to be!

Thanks!  The sardines were fun...I rolled up a piece of fabric to mimic the can lid...but you know, they don't make them like that anymore...they just pop off!  My husband eats sardines every day, so it was easy to grab a pop top thing...

hmmm...might need to consider staying longer than the weekend in June...;D

Title: Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery
Post by: alwaysinmyroom on April 10, 2016 03:12:32 PM
Glad you like them!  I enjoyed having a partner that I have not swapped with before because it does challenge me!

The fabric for the peacock came from craftylittlemonkey years ago...finally using it and I do have enough to make hubby one because he liked that one the best!  I have to confess that I had made the pillow a while back but never knew what else to do with it...I took a chance that almost everybody likes peacocks, right? ;D

The quote one had little metallic silver threads in it...and boy, do I hate working with metallic thread, but it was ok on these small projects!

I had a great time making these patches and look forward to YET ANOTHER round! ha ha

Thanks, LBABB--rainbows are some of my favorites to make...I have so many scraps! ;D...I did sew the scraps together with a machine before doing the hand work.

I'm so sentimental...my younger DD got a ton of new clothes from her father, so I told her she had to donate the same amount of clothes that she already had so that she would have room in her closet for the new ones.

We really don't have to buy the girls clothes anymore b/c they get a lot of really nice, barely worn/new clothes passed to them from their cousins.

So when my DD gave me the clothes she wanted to donate, in there were some items that we had purchased for both of them (both DD's) when they were much younger.  I wanted some of the clothes to cut out decorations or pretty fabric pieces to use for my TM patches.  So while I did that, I start to cry.  I'm such a mess.  :P

Using old clothes is a great idea, though, if you have sentimental value attached to them...they will be special patches for you and maybe, someday, for your girls!

I just love all the patches coming in since I was last on here! I had a little bit of help trying to deal with shoulder pain & everything else. But I think I'm the road to recovery now. Start therapy tomorrow. So it should get better now! I haven't started to finish the patches yet just 1 & half of another to get done. But hopefully will get it all done. So should get it done by the new date.
I just love all the patches the fabrics, textures, & embellishments! I'll just name a few. The owl is gorgeous. The flower & candy ball mahine are darling. The sardines ones is such a neat idea. All the extras are fabulous & the already made pillows are so nice. So much talent here on Craftster! Thanks for all the nice well wishes!!

I found a new craft supply obsession....THREAD!  All I had for thread is a rainbow spool I purchased for myself years ago, and a handful of small "spools" (I think they were meant to go on a sewing machine, the thread is wrapped around small cardboard tubes.  My MIL purchased it for me, I think she had no idea.) that I have had for so long that I've used up the "good colors".  I was embroidering some of my own TM patches today and looked at how boring the colors were so I went to Joann's and bought spools of thread in every BRIGHT color of the rainbow!  ;D

I also purchased a tiny bit of a really cute turtle fabric!  I couldn't resist!  ;D ::)

Holy Moly!!!  I received an OUT OF THIS WORLD package!!!  Thanks so much to quaggy for an awesome package and some crazy beautiful patches!!!!
We did decide to swap kits and she really really really out did herself I was so not expecting what she sent at all!!!
I love them all but the one that's really my dearest is the vintage doily one...absolutely divine!

Oooh, another great package from LB&B! I particularly like the red patterned one and the LGBT one! So bright and cheerful!  And the unadorned pillows look so fun to decorate!!

Awesome ones from AiMR too!!  I especially love the peacock, but they're all beautiful! I like the 3D embellishments on all of them, such a wonderful range of color and texture!

The same goes for those lovely patches from quaggy!  Embellishing the edges like that is something I'd never thought of; I'll definitely have to steal that idea some time!  And I love all the sewing stuff and the cheerful polka dots!

I've been working pretty steadily on my sewing machine cover lately, and have now attached 13 patches to it, but there's still a LOT left to cover; I might not actually have enough yet after all!  I realize this round isn't even over yet but I'm already ready for another round! I need more patches!! XD  And seeing this gallery is making me want to swap with everybody!! :)

curiousfae, what a great set of patches (and awesome bonus fabric, plus embelishments) from craftylittlemonkey). I love how she stitched around the buttons and in the buttonholes to add depth! The clothesline fabric is adorable, and the brick fabric is the perfect complement! And, the bead work on the heart is the perfect touch!

roler, fantastic patches from alwaysinmyroom. The owl patch is beautiful, the sardine patch is so clever, and I love bees and hexagons, so that patch is right up my alley! What a neat idea to send little "filler" patches, too! I really love how craftylittlemonkey embellishes her patches with beads and stitching. That jar fabric is adorable, as is the crab, but I really love how the beads, buttons and stitching play so nicely together on the blue flower. And, it's so cool to see all of your patches laid out all together. They're going to make a fantastic sewing machine cover!

gala_apples, what fun patches from LaybugsAndBumblebees! I think I like the gore one the best! And, again, sending extra patches to embellish is such a great idea!

DaphadillyArt, I love how cheery that rainbow patch is, especially with the rainbow of floss around the edge. The wings on the flying key (and they key! I love it!) is fantastic, as is all of that background stitching. The fabric for the peacock patch was the perfect choice and the stitching on the quote patch is so neatly done!

jkaywiz, wow! Not only did you get some great patches (love the beadwork on the polka dot patch and the doily patch, and the embellishments on the sewing patch- where do you find such cool embellishments?), but that kit is EPIC! That case is perfect for patch supplies!

I know right?! It's like the craft gods knew. I'm still reeling in disbelief :o

Does this mean I am a craft god? ;D ;)

I had a great time making these patches and look forward to YET ANOTHER round! ha ha

Once I get myself sorted out, I will be happy to start the next round!

Thanks....for embellishments I use a lot of charms found in the jewelry  sections, easy to sew on and usually bought on sale or with a coupon, beads the same and button pretty easy to find off old clothes are also in the craft section, the flowers are also beads that are sew through and held on with a seed bead.  If it has a hole you cab sew it on!

Out did my self hmm....look at this post and you may want to take that statement back,  My package arrived today from jkaywiz!

First up the awesome patches that she sent....so perfect...so me.

And even a shot of the cute backsides..... whoops photo below!

I love them all.....cute fabric and the word spring added such a pop of color....love the button fabric and the added buttons in certain areas and the sequin fish so sparkly and thread....all favorite things of mine and even a butterfly charm on the spring woodland patch!

Now when I sent out my supply kits it was a way to destash but I must say jkaywiz managed to send me more back than I sent to her...tee hee.....lots of fun goodies to play with in my kit.  I love the tiered container that she used.

Here is what was in the top bin.....ribbon, floss, flowers, vintage lace, ric-rac, eyelet, needles and another small container that has charms, patches and labels......

whew....move on to tier 2 and what did I find?????????????

Another small case filled with beads, charms, buttons, vintage jewelry bits a large butterfly sequin and 8 containers full....

still more......on tier 3 was a load of fabrics.....some look like vintage fabric...drooling as I type, a cute water scene, some batting, 2 spools of thread copper and gold metallic and a small
hoop!

jkaywiz was extremely generous, I love it all and can't wait to have some free time to play....so many interesting things.  It always amazes me that when I get fabric it is always stuff I have never seen and my stash is pretty big.  Gonna have fun making more patches and using the lovely's my partners send!

Ok "curious" you just get a piece of nylon stockings. Just a small piece, because it stretches a lot. Sew a running stitch around the perimeter then put some stuffing in & pull up the stitches if it's enough then pull it tight & then knot it. Then just do what ever you want. It's sculpting sorta of make a nose with a little bit of nylon & stuffing & with the thread go around with that nose & tie off. Then make eyes & mouth. No real or right or wrong way, just do what you want. I hope that helps. There's a video I think that shows how to do it. If I can find it I'll put it on here!

My package from quaggy arrived today! And what a big package it was - made me query my questionnaire info! ;) But after a PM the lovely quaggy told me that she wanted to give me extras (and was destashing ... I should do that soon, too! ;) ). Such a generous person!! :D

Here are her 3 patches

Firsts of all one for my Christmas/Winter theme (love all those beads and the colours!)

Then a patch for my Halloween theme (LOVE that spider!!)

(as Halloween & Christmas/Winter are newly added themes, quaggy is the first to make me patches for both! :) )

And my beach theme (love the idea of the palm fronds hanging over the edge of the patch!)

And then she included a most gorgeous kit! LOVE the box for all the little bits, VERY useful for a messy crafter like me  ::) ;)

Again, thank you so very much quaggy for this generous and lovely package!! :D  :-*

I received some nifty lizard themed patches from gala_apples yesterday!

Here they are as a group:

And separately:

As gala_apples wrote in the card:  "As you can tell, I went hard on the lizard theme."  ;D  The way she explained herself made me giggle, and I love that she went with that theme, as I didn't have any lizard themed patches yet and now I do!

Thank you!

The owl and the ticket one are also beautiful...

gala_apples....I like how you went with one theme...lizards!  I need to add that to my list.  I love lizards and snakes!  the blue lizard on yellow is fabulous!

I received some wonderful TM patches from DaphadillyArt!

I didn't think I was going to post them today as I had election duty and no camera...but, I scanned them into a printer..

Here they are!  Love the two little birdies and the tiny ladybugs....but my favorite is my initial!  I am going to use that one in the front cover of my journal!

My favorites of the patches that AIMR received is the red background with the white bird...I love the two colors together!  But of course, I know that the ladybug one was really meant for me!  ;D

As an aside, I just spent about an hour with my older DD, going thru my buttons, whimsies, beads, and ribbon to collect the specific ones that I want to add to the TM patches that are ready to add embellishments to.  It was so fun spending time with her, and she kept some of the buttons and ribbon!  I can't wait to post some finished ones...I'm having so much fun with this and so proud of myself!

I love the unusual color and fabric combo in the 9-3/4--that green is striking!  And the teeny mouse...eep!

lol Sharalee--I used to love that show and started collecting my first initial things...I have a boatload of  "L" pins...I think I might use them to make more patches for myself!

LBABB--I bet this is a craft that a lot of young crafters can do...it uses up a so little in supplies and can be done in so many ways...plus, they are meant to be wonky!

My patches arrive today from Inselaeffchen!!!!!!  Just when you think you have seen every owl fabric......think again!  I love the pastel shades in this patch with aqua being my favorite color it is spot on!  I also have a love for mushrooms and this one looks like it could be found down a hiking path!  I love the way the edges are stitched.  I have always just used the parallel wrap around......hmmm add this to my list of things to try!  I love my patches!

The little owls really are so cute!  I collect little owl fabrics and just adore the ones that have unexpected color...the stitching really makes the little guys stand out!

I am also loving the stitching around the borders....you guys, there are just way too many ways to do these patches...we could be swapping forever! ha ha ha

Title: Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery
Post by: Wulf on April 27, 2016 05:31:05 PM
Boy, it feels like I've been away from this swap forever! It hasn't really been that long, but I haven't got around to looking at the Gallery yet. "Oh, there won't be anything there yet", "I'll wait til I send my package", you know the sort of thing. Now it's "Cripes! Twelve pages!" :D

But it was worth it, because there's so much amazement here. I couldn't possibly pick out a favourite, but I have to say I've got dozens of ideas for the next round. Somehow, for instance, I never thought of just making patches out of cool fabrics. I often see great prints that I wish I had something I could use them for. (I've recently discovered a local store that sells wonderful bundles of fat quarters that I wished I had a reason to buy. Voila!)

Extending images past the edge of the patch; using x-stitch around the borders; sequins; monochromatic... so many great ideas!

Wulf

I love the look of the 'x' shaped stitches around the edges too!  I've never seen that.  I double fold my edges, I wonder if it would be possible to do then?

Title: Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R6- Gallery
Post by: alwaysinmyroom on April 27, 2016 08:11:40 PM
Just make your outside layer bigger...when I double fold, I make the outer layer two inches or so larger so I can fold in half to get a half inch on each side...it makes the edges easier to sew the pillows together as well when the borders are a bit flatter and bigger...also, don't stuff or use batting inside the folded edges if you want a flatter look.I use it just in the pillow part.

Sharalee - I think the Owl fabric is actually from your kit pack when we were partnered! :)

It's the first time I used the cross stitch on the edges after seen that on one of our previous galleries, and I quite like the effect. It's also the first time ever I've only done the one fold and not double fold. :)

Glad you liked the patches, quaggy!

Thanks "Inselaeffchen" That's why the  fabric looks familiar. I have brain laspe to  who I gave what too. But it looks great. I also make outer layer a little longer to do the double fold. The x's are great too!

Hey! You took my reply! ;D

And, I like how 3D that Star Wars patch looks and how the blue and tan fabrics on the beach patch capture the "texture" of the sand and the surf. I also really like how the stitching on the owl patch highlights the owls in the fabric and makes them look appliqued!

It really emphasizes how the choice of fabric can really be the focus of a patch.

And now, be prepared to be impressed! While I'm still dealing with internet/wifi glitches, I can finally get these posted. Wulf did an amazing job on these patches!

First, a paleontology/life sciences patch. I love how he varied the thickness of the floss when stitching to create different textures. And, the font! I love it!

And next, the Milky Way Galaxy! All of those little dots are very tiny French knots! The photo doesn't capture the subtle color differences in the knots, but it makes for a very neat effect when seen in person.

And, finally, Wulf had printed up some pieces of linen fabric with antique science images, but didn't have a use for them, so he sent them along.

Thanks, Wulf for some stellar patches!

Those are amazing "Wulf" that skeleton is awesome & the font is excellent!  The Milkey Way Galaxy patch is so cool. I've done french knots in things & it does take awhile to get done depending on what your making. Awesome patches & fantastic sewing!!!
That fabric is so cool too!!!

The Hitchcock silhouette is another great idea of how to decorate these patches!

Love all of the fabrics and the extras.

I agree! Sometimes, simple can be very effective!

Just waiting on 2 more sets of patches to reach their destinations, and then the swap will be wrapped up! And before you know it, we'll be on to the next one :)

I started off doing those French knot stars with an un-ravelled half-strand of shiny floss, but then I bought a spool of machine-embroidery thread that was as thin as I needed, just as glossy, and varigated in pale pastel colours. Much better! I'm glad you could see the colours, as I thought they were too subtle to show properly. I actually love making French knots - it's very soothing, somehow. ::)

The best part of that Hitchcock patch is the huge checked pattern on the border! It looks so great with the stitching, and I would never have thought of using something like that. Every posting of patches is a revelation.

Wulf

Eep, so much awesome has appeared here over the last week while I was mostly away!  I'm impressed and delighted by all the fun variety, but I'll just list a few of my particular favorites: the sparkly sequined fishie, the teal bird outline patch (the simple lines are lovely!!), the beach patch with the palm fronds over the edge, teag's bright button flowers and owl patch, all the adorable lizards, the spirally bird by DaphadillyArt, the 9 3/4 (amazing number font!!), the Star Wars patch by crazyda79, Insalaeffchen's adorable owls, both science patches from Wulf (jaw... on... floor...), and the Hitchcock silhouette!

Seriously, SO many different styles and amazing ideas!!  What a fun group to craft with!

Don't you just love it when someone you've never met sends you exactly the thing you didn't even realize you wanted? It's like they've been talking to your subconscious behind your back or something. Well, that's what my partner, craftADDchick seems to have been up to, anyway.

I'd listed "Earth from space" on my questionnaire, thinking of the rather boring image of the planet against the black of space, but of course from the surface of the Moon it's much more picturesque. And I love the scrappy look of the Moon contrasted with the lavishly-embroidered Earth.

And I love anything with insects, but this mandala of green and blue plant bugs is absolutely perfect in every way. And the photos don't do justice to the embroidery, but it really is exquisite - every stitch is in exactly the right spot. Look how exactly the backing fabric compliments the colours of the insects!

Thanks so much for these - they're exactly the right way to start my collection of patches.

Wulf

Yes thanks "curiousfae" they are trees. I thought it was so pretty that I embroidery  on the main tree doing the couching where I had a larger thread & embroidery over that & then just embroider the rest. I thought it turned out pretty good. I loved the colors!

Thanks for the compliments! I spent a lot of vacation time on the mandala, and thought the Earth would go quickly. But, in spite of it being about the size of a quarter, it took a few hours!

And, crazyda79, you got some really neat patches! I love the dandelion and beach scene the most, but the trees, the coral-like one and the 3D flower are a close second!

I agree! The crab is cute, although I love the constellation patch, too (science!).

I was going to say we had a strong finish to the gallery, but we had a strong beginning and middle, too! This was another great round!

I'll be thinking about starting signups for the next round soon, so we can get started at the beginning of June, and maybe have the due date at the end of June (or after the July 4th holiday).

The crab is crochet, yes. I just used a free pattern for crochet appliqué. ;-)

And I definitely will use cross stitch on the borders in future.

Just did a little back-read through the gallery. Wulf, that dinosaur and quote patch is crazy. I've never seen stitching as detailed as that dino. So freakin cool. And jkwiz, I really like that large happy yellow flower. It's going to look so interesting as the fabric frays slightly.

I can't wait for the next round, craftaddchick

It's summertime here in the US, and the swap boards have been pretty quiet. So, we figured it was time for a quick round of the Yet Another TM Patch Swap! Patches are portable and great to take while you're traveling (even to the beach!

We're celebrating the 10th Round of the Yet Another TM Patch Swap, and there's an extra challenge for this round.

As a past swapper, we'd love to have you join in to make this the biggest round of the swap, "Yet!" Even if you only have time to make 1 patch, you can still have fun!

Check it out here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=455350.0
