Title: The Everyday Etherealist
Post by: FoxyBlue on March 24, 2016 09:40:39 AM
I woke up inspired today. I painted this whole painting with dollar store craft paints just to see how I would fair and I really like how she turned out!

8x10" acrylic on artist panel.

Foxy, she is incredible. The black outline made me think of a papercut image when I saw the thumbnail, but then to realize it is painted? Completely floored me! Thank you for such wonderful art!

Quite lovely!  Don't you love those inspirations that just wake you up!  I am impressed that those were done with dollar store paints since they have such low pigment and don't mix as smoothly as better quality paints.  You did a beautiful job.

Excellent job (and title)!  I like her expression and the "normal" attire is a wonderful contrast to the more fantastic wing elements.  Speaking of which, I like that you gave her four of those, instead of the usual two for a fairy, which suggests dragonflies to me.

Thank you all so very much for taking the time to share your thoughts! I'm thinking of doing a series of 'Everyday Ethereaists'. Sort of like fairy folk in every day life. Could be fun! I like having themes. Keeps me inspired!
