Title: Twinches Needlework Swap Gallery

Post it here, baby!

Yeah! I've received! The first photo is just slightly larger than real life, but I wanted to show more of the details, so I'm posting an enlarged close up, too. The necklace is longer than it appears in the shot. The leaves are actually a beautiful spring green and the beads appear more golden in reality, but the camera seems to have washed out the color. Tapestrymlp stitched the petals over a fine wire so they're shapeable and stand up from the surface.

I was so lucky to have Tapestrymlp for my partner! I know I'll be wearing this necklace often and am sure her work will receive a ton of compliments! Thank you so much!

Thanks everyone! :D This was my first attempt at stumpwork so I'm rather pleased with the result. I got to learn three new stitches as well: a short buttonhole stitch, long & short stitch (I'm absolute rubish at it), and a leaf stitch.

And that tiny robot is so very cute! I really like how the background fabric is visible from the front! SO cute!

Hang on to your needles, my twinchie from sheepBlue arrived today! It is a wee Irish square of perfection:

Those French knots are ridiculously tiny. I'd have gone blind.

Amazing. Thank you, sheepBlue, you're a gem!

All this stump work is putting me to shame, lol.

Wow, abbee! looking at the super-micro-tiny stitches on that robot hurt my eyes a bit  :D I'm amazed you got the wee heart to still look like a heart at that super small scale. I know mine would be an indistinguishable blob haha.

(In a slightly off-tangent thought: How many words can we come up with to describe "small"?  ;D)

Yay! Pottermouth, I'm glad you like it. I've so long admired stumpwork and figured this would be a fun time to give it a go.

I received from Pottermouth today!! And I feel like I should ask for my twinchie back so I can redo it to match her awesomeness!!

She said the background is done in a texture to mimic a more mineral/rocky type texture which I totally get!

And all the stitches on the beetle!!! I love the color combination, the threads are so tiny but blend together beautifully! I am just in awe.

Thank you so much Pottermouth. It is a tiny gem in my collection now.

Wow! I've been waiting for the gallery since the swap started, and now that I've seen it, I am doubly glad I opted out of this round since there is no way my skills are equal to the gorgeous work I'm seeing here!

tapestrymlp, that pendant is absolutely fabulous! I would love to learn how to stitch over wire like that! Thinking of the possibilities is making me a bit giddy :)

Abbeeroad, that teeny tiny robot is adorable (I love robots), and I am as impressed as everyone else at your rmicro-chain stitching (and teeny heart!).

SheepBlue, your 4-leaf clover and ladybug are AMAZING! I'd be impressed with it at any scale, but to know that it's no bigger than 2 inches makes it even more remarkable!

Pottermouth, I am in love with that beetle (my favorite insect order), and the texture you created in the background (I thought you stitched the beetle onto a textured fabric), is over the top!

I definitely need to do some practicing (and learn a few new techniques) this summer so I can join a future round.

LOVE the addition of felting!
I started over on my partners inchie, although, when I went back to look at the old one, I don't hate it anymore. She might end up with two!

The toad is simply stunning with all the detail in those little stitches!

I also really like the felted squares too! I would have never thought about that as a medium! So many different things to love! I am really enjoying this swap!

This is the wonderful twinchie that I received from fiberartsy! It's everything that I love, my Vespa, rainbows and abundant cuteness all in one! It's so perfect for me! As soon as I took this picture I hung it on the wall. I love it, love it, love it! Also included was a picture of her little one whom I adore! I love getting to see him grow and change from all the way across the country, he's the cutest little bug ever. I love the internet!

What a cute little guy - - - and the Vespa's not bad either! Seriously, I love the touch of eyelet lace and the grosgrain ribbon wrapped frame. They do the embroidery proud! Fiberartsy did an impressive job recreating your Vespa and the plumes of rainbow colored exhaust add that touch of whimsy that just makes me smile.

Oh, the gallery is already 6 pages long!  I'll go back and check out all the awesome in a minute, but right now I want to (finally!) post what Ludi sent me!

She made me the cutest chubbiest toad brooch ever!  And, it's stumpwork, so I can actually poke it's belly!   :D

(I flipped my ring around so you all can see how much of a herptile person I am  ;) )

You can't even fully see all the colors of thread that were meticulously layered to create this!

Plus I got a bonus because she sent me one of artsycandice's block-printed cards (which smells wonderful and reminds of when I was still in school studying art.)  Lucky me, as I am a Lovecraft fan for sure!

And I took a picture of it next to my girl Petunia, well because I just had too!!  Petunia is at least 11 yrs old!

(https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=638289)  (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=638290)

Thank you so much Ludi!
Now...how to get more needlework twinchies!!!???

Okay, now that I've perused the gallery I have to say that I am super impressed with everyone's miniature masterpieces!

The blue flower necklace is beautiful, and looks great in that copper(?) hoop!  I didn't even know that embroidery could stand out as 3-dimensional as that!  Goes to show you how new I still am to all this.  :)

The robot is just too darn cute, and what a sweet sentiment!  Sigh....

The ladybug and clover square is so delicate and lovely!  You can totally see how precisely every blade of grass was stitched. And again with that totally off the surface embroidery!  I'd heard of stumpwork, but you ladies seem are taking my education to a whole new level!

fancybutch, your work always stands apart from everyone else's!  Fabulous twinchies, and the one on the bottom left reminds me of a petri disk!

The tiny vespa hoop is so perfectly done, and I love the little lace section!

...and my absolute favorite (next to mine, of course) is the gorgeous beetle that pottermouth did.  Everything about this little piece is fantastic!  The only thing I love better than beetles are toads!

Love all the beautiful twinchies! Fiberartsy - where on earth did you find such a tiny frame?
It's a tiny wooden hoop!  If I had to guess...maybe a 2 1/2" hoop?  It's pretty small.

I'm loving this gallery.  The felted pieces are FAB!

Kittykill---an ongoing swap would be fun!!

LisasTeaTime--I'm so glad you liked the Vespa!

fancybutch - I especially love the twinchie with the lace and french knots. I've been on a french knot kick lately. So much beautiful texture.

fiberartsy - I really want to see that embroidery next to a ruler or something to show it's scale. The stitching is incredibly precise and adorable. I love how sharp the vespa came out.

Count me in for future rounds of the twinchie ongoing swap!

You know I didn't even think to take a photo with anything for scale.  Maybe LisasTeaTime can?  I would say it's a little over an inch wide.

WHY don't we have awesome thrift stores like that in Dallas? It's criminal. Sigh. I did an internet search and I'm not terribly happy with any of the tiny hoops I found. Which is why I'm contemplating making my own using a mold and some hard plastic medium :D

Love this gallery. I went out of state for a few days and a garden of goodies appear! Excellent work on the flower, bees, and foxes.

I drove through Tapestrymlp's home town on my way to a scrapbooking convention. Wish I had been finished; then I could have dropped the twinchie off in person, but I did find what I wanted to use to mount the stitching at one of the shopping booths. Knew I had seen the items at last year's convention, so glad they were back again this year. Now to get myself in gear and finish the stitching.

So much great stuff, I'm intimidated. I received about a week ago from MDelilahCarlson (first time swapper I might add) and I'm even more intimidated! Look at these little boxes she made.

The actual stitcheries are magnets. Super cool! Not the best of pictures, sorry. These are way too great to go on the side of my fridge, they are now on the industrial shelving unit in my craft room. I'm sure they will be plenty helpful down there holding up patterns and whatnots. Isn't it great when you get something you never knew you needed so much? Now to get started on what I'm sending in return. Eep! So intimidated!

Your pics are so better than mine. Thanks for posting them! Such tiny stitches! I hope I can do justice in your return package. Maybe I will have to toss in an extra or two to make up for it if I feel not up to par. Or just for fun. We will see where the needling takes me.

The more difficult of my twinches is going much better than I had expected and I haven't gone blind yet despite it being on such a small scale. Yeah! Probably won't mail early because of other commitments this week, but should be mailing on time at least. . . if I can keep my elder daughter from confiscating the finished project! Her tastes and Tapestrymlp's are very similar. :D

I don't think my photos are very good, but this is what the petit point pieces looked like before they were mounted into the reversible pendant case. They were stitched on 40 count silk gauze. Each piece graphed out to 28 x 28, so 784 stitches each plus the black outline stitches. And, no, I didn't use a magnifying glass nor did I go blind! ;D  I did use an OTT light though so I could see the holes for stitch placement.

Pottermouth, ask me about that in another zillion years or so.

I have an amazing package from jexxican to share! First, the package itself, beautifully decorated by a pair of small hands ;):

Here's what first came out of the package:

A trio of lovely felted stones! I have been wanting to try embroidering on felted stones, but have never felted before. These are perfect to ease me into a new craft!

Inside the envelope was this Alice card (I love Alice!):

And, finally, the stinchies:

And, individually, so you can see the lovely felting and stitching on each one:

You are awesome, jexxican! Thank you for making my first swap so great! I will definitely be joining more in the future (and would be honored to have you as a partner).

Those birds are beautiful!

Received from dharma_rebel and she totally got me. :) Sending me two "stinchies".

In her card she said she sent along the birds in hopes I would find a use for them...When I took them out I laid them next to each other,  and thought they belonged together. So that is what I did.

They need some adjusting in the frame, but it is perfect! Look at her amazing tiny stitches in the apple tree.

Thank you dharma_rebel, and to kittykill for organizing the swap! :)

Jen Sews - The puppy you stitched kittykill is so perfect! Tiny and adorable all in one package.

jexxican - The felted birds are gorgeous! They look so soft and the stitched lines definitely make them come to life.

dharma_rebel - Both twinchies are great, but as a sucker for texture every time, I love the tree most!

And I'm so glad to hear you've actually seen and wanted to stitch on felted rocks before. I hope you enjoy them! so glad you like your turtle hazelly, I painted the fabric with dye, after doing the turtle and had some bleed over into the stitches but thankfully that worked ok - it help to blend him into his "environment"  :) - now he is a larger than an inchie - he ended up 2.25 inches in length.  He grew somehow - he was suppose to be 2 inches

I received some of the most amazing twinchies from my swap partner katara! I live near the ocean and my 5 month old's room is sea-themed... so these are awesome! Best part was on the card she sent was little diagrams to make more! I am going to make another and then frame the four! Thank You SO much for these AMAZING sea-themed twinchies!

I'm just glad you liked them!

Thank you to everyone else for all the nice comments!  :D
