I received a stuffed envelope full of neatly wrapped packages from Watsonc7.

Each item came with a tag detailing the creation and inspiration of the item. Plus, all this thread used as ribbon will be easy to reuse in more patches!

For the themes of Forest we have a small 'patch' of forest, in which all the leaves are French knots, in multiple shades of green. I think I need to take a close-up of all those knots so you can see how cool they are. The texture is amazing. On the right for the theme of Grave, is a grave with a silver skeleton charm wearing a tulle and ribbon dress, from the perspective of standing at the top of the foot of the grave. The fabric is a brown suede, manipulated to look like piles of dirt.
ETA close-up of French knots.

The backs. The Forest takes on an entirely different look from this side, a little abstract, a little wild forest. And I love this butterfly fabric on the back of the grave. Strangely fitting.

Another patch! This one she made just for the kitties so they wouldn't feel left out! Sweet of you Watsonc7.

And a full kit. There is floss, a skull applique ready to use, multiple fabrics and batting! I could grab a needle and take this bag with me to make a patch.

Thank you so much Watsonc7! I think you've done a great job, especially for your first swap. Welcome to the addiction!

Nice start to our patchy gallery!  The forest patch is more my style, but I have to say that I do love that grave patch.

Watson - I really like your edge stitching, how wonky it is!  I find it's not easy to do wonky and your stitches and how you've turned the fabric are gorgeous.  Love it.  And all those french knots... yowza.  That's patience.  Yep.  Excellent way to wrap the pipe cleaners as tree trunks.  Very creative.

As for the kitty patch.  I keep forgetting about patches that aren't 'rectangular'.  It give me all sorts of ideas...

Thanks y'all!  I'm glad you liked them Sarcastra!  I'm uploading a few pics that might show the detail of the brown fabric I used in the grave, I couldn't see it on the other pics as well. The grave is definitely my fav patch of all the ones I did.  I didn't tie the fabric down so the fabric can be moved around and cover the skeleton a few diff ways.

Wow, you're right. My photos are way too contrasty. I thought it was just my laptop screen at the time, but now I see there is no detail left. I will edit those and reupload them tonight. Thanks for stepping up our photo quality here, Watsonc7!

I received from Noodle-bug today and ooooohhh I am giddy!  She took my button theme and nailed it!
First, my favorite. I totally pushed on that button, I'm a rebel like that. The embroidery is really good, I need to practice my word embroidery for sure.

Next, I love this button patch, it's so simple and cute!  The buttons are so pretty and shiny and I love how she embroidered circles around each one.

Finally, Noodle-bug hooked me up with some really cute fabric (note the button fabric!) and a huge handful of awesome buttons.  Love love love my kit.

Thanks so much Noodle-bug, I truly loved my package!

Oh my, I just LOVE the beach patch! The seaglass-y beads...genius!

And the "this button doesn't do anything" is brilliant. I think I might have to copy that idea for myself, lol :)

The Alice patch is very nice too.  I love the backing fabric and thread choice on that one.

It's so much fun to see everyone's creations!

Hi Everyone, I am moving the send out date to Tuesday. We have a few people who are not quite ready and I don't want anyone to stress.

I am just loving the patches in the gallery. Love the "sand" beads, the simplicity of the buttons, and that very cute zombie. The kits are really intriguing me. I want to work on all of them.

The face patch is awesome. I would totally love a face patch.

I received my patches from the wonderful Noodle-bug.
I was so happy to receive this lovely button patch after jealously eyeing the one she sent to Watsonc7. Mine has more brown tones and I love its old look.

This long patch (that might make a lovely bracelet) has a shell from her holiday in The Netherlands. I will always think of that when I see it. I love the radiating stitches and the muted colors.

My kit contains three food themed fabrics that are unlike anything I own, so they will be fun to work with, and she included a fun variety of beads.

Thanks for being a great partner, Noodle- bug; your patches will be on their way tomorrow morning.

The long shell patch is so cool!  How in the world do you attach a shell like that!   Is it glued on there or what?

Nice patches.   I love the fabrics in the kit too.

How in the world do you attach a shell like that!   Is it glued on there or what?

actually, when i found the shell it had a little hole worn into it - that's what caught my eye and made me immediately think of sewing it to a patch - so I just sew it on like a button :)

I recieved two gorgeous patches from watsonc7 today, waiting for me when I cam into work after a week off, so a perfect way to cheer up my return to reality

She did such an amazing job, I can't believe these are her first patches:
A 'Heroes' patch -

what a cool idea to use the logo as the letter S, and I love LOVE the broken clock!

A Pride & Prejudice patch -

the silhouettes are great, and where on earth did you find a P&P book charm??

and my kit is to make a cosmos or Wonders of the universe patch, some awesome fabric and really cute star charms.

Are we going to post in the gallery the patches we make with our kits?? I'd love to see what everyone does with them

I received from Pioneer9!

For the theme of Skulls, a skull on the left. Love this fabric. For the theme of Cats, a cute cat with an embroidered "Meow" above its head. I can just see this going onto a comforter, pillow or curtain to patch up a spot destroyed by kitties, perfect.

For the kit, a bat appliqued onto some yellow star fabric and red and florescent blue floss to go with it. I think I will make this one up sometime very soon. Pioneer9, as per your note, I don't think it looks too Batman, but I also like Batman, so it is all good.

Thank you so much!

love all the patches! i went to joannes to try and find some more fabric for alice and also zombie so i can make more patches and turn them into a purse, but i couldnt find any, well i found one zombie but it was pink..not my fav color. hmmm...well...looks like i will just have to keep doing patch swaps either in org swaps or personal until i get enough lol . joannes by here was not good for fabric. crazy! i thought with halloween coming that there would be more zombies!

well if anyone sees any zombie print or zombie themes like splatter, brains or whatnot, i will gladly trade for them! i found a site where you can design your own fabric but omg it is lik ubre expensive a yard! what i wouldn't give for a bunch of scrap fabrics lol argness indeed!

wow wise one! i pretty much have a purse making kit! finished patches and partial finished, fabrics and handle strips, i gotta find the tute for making the handle. thank you sooo much! now with making just a couple more patches and finishing the ones you sent me i can finally have my own tm patch purse!!!!!!! sooo excited! thank you soo much! without even knowing it you fulfilled one of my wishes from the ongoing wish swap! it is ok that they arent themes that i had bc these are totally artistic and i love artsy so i will be making an artsy purse!!!!

i know this is a little side tracked, but do they ever do a fabric scrap swap? it is so hard to find scraps of different kinds over here, i spent 30$ getting just a couple long thin strips in just 3 colors over here and would be fun to swap diff fabrics. note to organiser, do you think sometime you or someone could host a scrappy swap? i am still scared to host one. unless maybe some time someone could teach me what to do. but i kindof have a lot on my plate atm. hubby got into a car accident last night. he is ok, the car not so much so a big unexpected $ pit. eek!

There are lots of opportunities for swapping fabric or requesting fabric scraps as part of your swap on Craftster. You can always do a personal swap, Givers and Needers Swap, Offer What You Have swap (lets you claim fabric), Novelty Fat Quarter Swap, just name a few. Check out the Community/Organized Craft Swaps and New Swap Ideas Discussion board for more.
I would be happy to swap you a batch of fabric in exchange for a patch. Just PM me and you will be off to a good start.

Super excited and sad at the same time.....excited because I got some frickin awesome patches from Sarcastra, and sad because I won't be getting any more fun mail for awhile, booo.  It would be awesome if there were a monthly patch swap, they were so fun and easy to make!

Back to business.
Sarcastra made me an element patch that I'm freaking over.  Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.  So creative!  I love the circle shape and separation and the way a touch of color (I'm assuming markers) is smeared through the element embroidery....I just love it all, I totally sucked in my breath when I saw this

Next I got a really cool button patch for my button theme.  The fabric is really cool and I love how there are random buttons sewn on.  If you look really hard you can see tiny tiny black beads, it added a really cool texture.  This patch definitely had some time put into it!

Last, my patch kit.  Sarcastra totally spoiled me with not 2, but 5 pieces of fabric, packet of buttons, a packet of those awesome tiny beads, and 6 threads!  I was spoiled for sure.  I wish I would have thrown in extra fabric, it's the smallest thing to do but it makes such an impact to get little extras like that!

I had such a blast with my first swap, ill be stalking the boards for more TM patch swaps for sure.

I received an ah-mazing package from WiseOne, today. She pretty much spoiled me rotten and sent me enough supplies to finish my purse!

She sent me a bunch of fabric for patch making, another bundle of 2-inch strips to make a purse strap, 8(!) patches for me to finish, and three awesome eco/nature-themed patches. She even sent me a flier for me to re-purpose because it looked like an image off of my pinterest! How thoughtful is she?!

I hope the pictures are OK. I've packed my camera already, so I've taken these pics with my phone.

Here's a group shot:

Here are pics of the finished patches:

Thank you SO much! I love my patches!!!

Hi Swappers, Try to tear yourself away from your lovely patches for just a moment and PM me to let me know you have received or shipped. I updated the list of senders and receivers on the first page of the gallery, so if you see your shipment or receipt is recorded, there is no need to PM me now. Just let me know if I have missed something.
Also, if you can't ship by today, please let me know.

Hmmmm...  I don't see that you've sent me a PM with the DC number saying that you've shipped.  Did I miss something?  Artista, I've looked through all of my PMs in my inbox and I've checked the first page with CraftsUnderground's tracking of all the shipped/received and she's not showing it either.  Hmmm.

Pioneer9 is camera-less, so she has asked I share photos of my patches to her.

For her theme of text and typewriters, just that - text and typewriters. I found a newspaper fabric, too, so these patches are text heavy!

The backs of the patches. I found a coordinating keyboard and number pad fabric for the back. You can't see them, but there are black stitches in the black areas for texture. For the Titanic text blurb, I pulled out a ship on the seas fabric. You can see the texture filler stitch well here.

And the patch kit. In addition to text, she had the themes of books and from her Pinterest I saw that she liked old-style camera print fabric and the bright, cartoony animals match her other favorites. I included some more micro-beads and some alphabet beads, too.

Hope everyone is having a great swap!

I received my patches from Sharlee today.  Here are pics of both my packages...

From gamemom42

And from Sharlee

This one shows  woithout the flower, which is a flower pin that I truly adore so much I may just wear this with some of my dresses...

Thanks ladies I really am in love with the patches...not sure when I'll get a chance to put the other patches together but at least I have them ready to go....and I have to apologize for not sending any fiberfill of batting along with mine...I totally spaced that out.... :-\

I received from both of my lovely partners.  I'm in TM patch heaven over here.

First, from jkaywiz:

A fairy tale mushroom patch!  Fairy tales and mushrooms were two of my themes and this fits both.  I love it!

She also made me a groundhog patch!  I put groundhogs on my theme list never dreaming anyone would actually make a groundhog patch for me. I also had alphabet listed as a theme and she even worked that in!

(I'm not sure how I managed to post a mirror image of that patch but you get the idea)

And the kit, chock full of fun things:

Next up are the lovely things I got from sharalee.

She made me this beautiful black and white patch with a detachable flower pin!  This fit my "flower" theme perfectly.

And as unbelievable as it seems, sharalee also made me a groundhog patch!!!  I'm so happy to have not one, but two groundhog patches!

And of course another fun kit to make more patches!

Thank you so much ladies!  I love everything!

awww!so sweet robin! paige found one scrap that is peace sign that is big enough for one tm patch in the scraps i got from wise one. she started it today, but unfortunately my favorite needle broke. they are latch hook needle things, you dont have to try and thread through the eye, you line up the thread on the top of the needle and ust is a pull down and a lil spring latch opens and locks it in! it was the one with the biggest eye that my hubs bought me i think at a thrift store, i hope i can find some more! do you guys know if they are common? i never shopped for needles before besides just a reg needle kit and it is a nit hard for me to thread with the new thread i bought. not sure what kind i got, it looks like two twisted together. i dont think it is embroidery as i heard that is five strands, unless do they make a two standed kind? not very schooled in my threads lol. i also went looking for whatever you guys use to stuff with to make your patches so even and tidy! i was amazed at my partners patches! i thought it might be some kind of batting or something. i must not know what to look for or something bc all i saw was this foam stuff in a roll or big bags of fluff. i keep picturing something that looks like a thin layer of cotton. can someone maybe post a pic of what it looks like either a piece or in a package so i know what i am looking for? my patches where more puffy and i want to try to make tidy ones like you guys!

ps. i loves you guys! you all are sooo sweet!!!!! paige sais it is up to you if you want to send her some peace sign fabric scraps or whatnot. she sias it is ok if you dont, she sais she still loves you guys too for being such sweet peoples, lol

paige is getting a room built by my husband! her whole room is going to be peace signs and neon colors lol. my aunt has been crafting neon green lamps lol odd but paige wanted it neon green. when i find those type of needles again i am going to give paige one and let her repurpose some old tshirts into pillows! lol

ronan was soo bumbed when the needle broke.. he didnt get to sew today. sad but at the same time, i am soo stoked that he truly loves sewing that much!!!! ronan wants to join craftster when he gets older! lol i think there was some rivalry going on though bc every couple seconds paige kept telling me to look at her patch. ronan got a lot of attention from grandma about his patch and paige though older wants the same attention. she is just as good too! just hard to look so often lol

I sent the fabric package today and there was no peace sign fabric in there.  Actually, I'm a little surprised at myself that I didn't have any.  I would have thrown a pack of needles in for you if I had read this in time.

it's ok! i do have regular needles, i just can't seem to get the thread i got into the eye! i have no idea what it is if it is embroidery or not, it just said craft thread on the box. hubby was all "here this should last you a long while" haha not so sure about that, i have been going through each lil bundle fairly quick haha! i need to find that little needlt threader thingy. maybe that will help me! the one from my reg needle kit is missing. maybe i should search the kids room! lol

that sounds like perle thread, which you are supposed* to use both strands together (not like stranded thread, which comes with 6 strands that you can separate and use as many as you like at a time to give different line weights)
and yes you will need a large eye needle

*but of course, 'supposed' is only what you make of it

My patches arrived from craftsunderground! yay! I love them both...
and beautiful beaded downton abbey patch

and this super cute flight of the concords patch

and my kit - tis is one of my all time favourite quotes, I love that I can have a patch of it now :D plus loads of awesome fabrics (these kind of prints are not easy to find in the UK, so they are an extra special treat) and some gorgeous beads

Thank you!!

I love the flight of the concords one!  I don't even really know who they are but I just think the patch is too cute.  I think that red brick background would be so great for so many themes.  Is that "as is" or did you enhance it in some way?  Can I ask where it came from?

yes that must be what it is! i tried to separate the strands and it doesn't work lol. i found another needle like my old one though! which is great! now i can fit both strands in!

Gamemom42, the brick fabric came "as is". I bought it years ago. I have only used it in a couple of patches so far. I made a graffiti patch that I really love. I have at least a yard, so I would be happy to share some.

OMG, I just pulled out my brick fabric and the selvage is marked 1994 Concord Fabrics. I guess I have had that for a few years.

I've caught these galleries twice now and would love to join in the next round - if only someone would explain what a teenamoore patch is exactly !!!!! I've googled it as can see what I'm looking at, but am I right in thinking they are just small siZe scrappy arty quilted bits ?

Teesha Moore made three You Tube videos explaining her patches. They are linked at the beginning of this swap and the other TM swaps as well. The second one really gets down to the patches. They are sort of like quilted pieces, but they are not as structured (if that is the right word.) They lend themselves to being a little wild. Of course individual Craftsters have put their own spin on them. Try them out and see what you do with them.
