Ok so I was partnered with SmileyYogini aka the spoiler. I almost feel ashamed of the package I sent her after opening this. First a group shot to show you just how MUCH she fit in this box.

Now to separate stuff a bit. First the Miyazaki stuff. Here we have the most looked forward part of any swap for me... The plusheis! lol. Here is Haku (dragon form) and Howl. Two of my top favorites :)

Then we have a cute felt Catbus envelope :3 and a keychain of howls moving castle.

Now the extras. There's a set of WONDERFUL smelling Vampire Blood incense, an art junkie (so true) magnet, some rit dye (we were chatting about orange dyes), skittle (yum), ATC blanks, a mini wooden easel, a wooden O, and an adorable Hat for my niece :) Ok I THINK that's everything lol.

So, who's jealous? ;) Thanks Smiley.

What an adorable little girl in her calcifer hat! (Stickers somehow end up on the kids mouths around here as well. ;))
After my daughter saw it she wants me to make her one too.

My favorite thing ended up being the art journal page.
I had to laugh, I cut the words from a beat up Hardy Boys book. You know what? They don't use pens...only pencils! I had to find sentences that started with p. e. n. and blend those.
Silly boys!

I want to thank YOU, DaphadillyArt! I'd never seen Howl's Moving Castle before and now it's so beloved.

Thank you for posting pics sheriffkarli.  I've had a devil of a time lately!  We LOVE the whole package.  Peri claimed calcifer right away and wore Jiji the next day to camp.  Thank you for sending items for her, she loved that! The forest spirit tank is wonderful and I think most amazing are those Kiki/Jiji sneakers.  I can't tell you how amazing these are!  They look very professional!  I a tiny bit scared to wear them I don't want to get a scuff on them.

Everything was wonderful!  Thank you soooo much for a superb package.

We had just watched it the night before too! The art page is super awesome, I think when we move I will have a wall devoted to crafty art hangings. Ahhh what a happy wall it will be.

The gallery should be exploding these next two weeks!

I received from DaphadillyArt today!!!
The thoughtfulness/awesomeness that went into this package makes me so very happy!

Without further ado...

First off my Favorite...
A Ponyo Hoop!

I hope my camera is doing Ponyo's hair justice. I couldn't take my eyes off it for the longest time!!!

A Totoro Hat complete with Soot Sprite ties!

The kids are setting up a "split custody" for this little guy!

No Face Blank Journal!

This is beyond cool, and based off an image from my pinterest! I'll love this moleskine as I've never loved a moleskine before!

Ponyo Pin Buttons!

I know just where these are going too...Some are going on my minivan's sun visor, some on my rockin' denim jacket, and some on my pin button collection frame!

And now for the extras....

I love Lego!
She crafted some Flat Brick Bobby Pins! then included some Lego bulletin board push pins!
AND OMG some shells! The kids went ballistic! There was actually a teeny bit of sand in the box too! Being in the Midwest, we don't often make it to the ocean.

I LOVED this package to PIECES!!!
Thanks and Thanks and a Million More Thank Yous Ms. Daphadilly!!!!

Catching up on the gallery today!

Great work on the Chihiro and My neighbor totoro hooplas! LOVE the Jiji tanktop and the "free hugs" journal!

Thanks, Radstamps and Silentblaire.  I got the bag idea for the totoro tote bag from estar23's pinterest, and it was really easy to paint :)  Yes, the Totoro in the forest collage is layered paper and yes the trees are ripped up cardboard.

Lastly, you're very welcome Estar23!  Looking forward to your package!!

smileyyogini I'm glad it arrived. Looks like everything got a bit mooshed in shipping?

I have a few pix I snapped before sending:

Hopefully she was greeted by a pile of Soot Sprites when she opened the package. these are really fun to have all over the house. Everyone loves to find one in a dresser draw, under the bed, under the couch :) just throw them around the house!

Princess Mononoke Bubble Magnets

Ponyo, Forest Spirit and Soot Sprite rubber stamps

Extra - personal stamp for Melody with a crochet hook & her name :)

I received on Friday from Daphadillyart, but due to weekends being crazy time hectic, finally now had a chance to get pictures and post. She sent me an amazing package!  :o

First, this awesome Howl hoop. This is from one of my favorite parts of the movie, when Howl is freaking out about not being beautiful.  ;D I love it so much!

Then this adorable crocheted Jiji. So cute! I'm always envious of the rocking crochet skills on here.

Some Kiki's Delivery Service buttons which I have already decorated my purse with :D

And a bunch of extras, crafting supplies, notebook, and thank you cards. Thanks again, Daphadillyart! You really spoiled me and I love everything! :)

I am oh-so-late on posting this- life of a children's librarian during the Summer Reading program is *insanity*. Anyhoo, I'm going to include pics of what I received from my partner, Lmseeley, as well as what I crafted for her.

Unfortunately, Lmseeley's post office marked the package I sent her as 'un-deliverable', and as of now, I am still waiting for it to arrive back at my place so I re-send it.   :'( Lindsay, I'll send you an email once I receive and send it back out.

Lmseeley sent me four small but great pieces of handcrafted Miyazaki goodness: two soot sprites that seem to be weaved somehow (so cool) and two tiny paintings inspired by Princess Mononoke, one of my favorite Miyazaki films.

How cool, right?! And the paintings are so simple but beautiful, which I love. Thanks again, Lindsey! The sprites have already made a home for themselves on my bookshelf and I'm still trying to decide where I want to hang the paintings because I want to see them all the time :D All that being said, Lindsey: do NOT read past this point!! I don't want to spoil your package for you.  ;)

....

....

....

....

Despite being insanely busy with work, I managed to make Lindsay quite a few little pieces which I hope she likes. To give you a size reference, I took some pictures with the pieces on my strangely tan-looking hands.  ??? Anyhoo, onto the pics!

Piece 1: a mini Totoro outdoorsy scene made with Sculptey clay & glazed.

The obligatory Totoro-back picture.  ;)

Piece 2: a pair of Culcifer earrings; Sculptey with a glaze.

Piece 3: a soot-sprites-in-a-bottle necklace. I bought about 4 packs of star beads- none of which fit!- before thinking: "hey, sprinkles are cute! Soot sprites would totally eat sprinkles." And thus, the soot-sprite-sprinkle (say that three times fast) necklace was born! The sprites were made out of the tiniest black pom poms I could find, which I then cut down not only to fit into the bottle, but to give them a not-totally-perfect appearance. The teensy-weensy eyes were just painted on.

Also, keep in mind that even though the sprinkles look big, they're totally 'standard size' sprinkles- making this a *tiny* necklace.

Piece 4: this is the only piece I did not end up being pleased with, but I sent it to Lindsay anyway (with an explanatory note) because I figured she might like it anyway. I wanted to sculpt a Cat Bus and it ended up looking like a demented Disney character, at least in my hyper-critical opinion. Le sigh. Sculptey clay once again with glossy acrylic paint and a gloss top coat.

Pieces 5- A Lot: I went a little crazy making a bunch of Miyazaki magnets. I found the images on Pinterest, played with the contrast before printing, ran them through a laminator, and then just added magnet strips to the backs.

Here is everything together- I also made a bookmark out of an adorable Hayao image, adding corresponding purple ribbon on top (bottom right).

I wrapped everything up in some fun hippie-esque fabric I had left over from a project to add some protection, bubble-wrapped everything, and I just had to throw in some authentic Japanese stationary and stickers I had lying around. I rarely have such an appropriate use for them!  :D

Hope you enjoyed! Can't wait to see what everyone else has been crafting and receiving.

I'm thinking the same thing  :D I especially love that Totoro hoop, Mononoke canvases and Ponyo inspired yarn. Your crafts for Lmseeley are also cool bittersweet_symphony.

Now for the awesome crafts I recieved from Ryn  :D I feel bad I haven't put it up before now - life conspired against me.

I received a cutie-pie soot sprite hoop in this really cool/interesting metal hoop (is it really an embroidery hoop Ryn or re-purposed from something else?). And I love altered matchboxes and tins and Ryn made me these great matchboxes that have DVD cover art and little clay figures inside - Totoro and kodama from Mononoke - 2 of my favourite things about Miyazaki.

Thanks for swapping with me Ryn and helping increase my Miyazaki obsession  ;D

Glad you liked what I made! It is really an embroidery hoop. My mom gave me all her embroidery stuff from when she was younger, so it's decades old, I can't say for sure if it was a normal hoop back then either, but that could explain it.

I feel like a jerk because I just realized that I never posted pictures of the awesome package that Rae-mazing sent me. My life is a bit of a big crazy mess right now.

Calcifer hoop! I love him.

And an absolutely adorable painted Totoro bag. I've been needing a new makeup bag (my old one is too small) and this is perfect. Sorry, the picture is blurry and really doesn't do it justice.

Super cute mushroom lining.

Thank you so much Rae-mazing!!!

I picked it up from the post office this morning, and the package I received is the best thing ever. It's sooo cool. Take a gander below.

Wallet/Phone Case

An Amazing Set of Hoops

This great reversible bag, Kodama's on one side, and two Spirited Away images on the other side, it's amazing.

There was also awesome Australian chocolate, but it didn't survive long enough to get a picture of it.

All of my photos are upside down for some reason, even after trying to fix it, hopefully you can all still see how awesome everything is.

Well - since I haven't heard whether my partner recieved or not - I'm hoping she won't mind if I post what I sent her. :)

I sent her some soot sprites (silly me didn't get a picture of them before I boxed them up) Needlefelted pompoms with googly eyes. :D I sent her some Howl's moving castle inspired bookmarks (her favourite movie). I sent her some Howl and Sophie inspired tea blends, and some black lace and a feather to decorate her place with. I also sent her a handmade painting of Calcifer, and some paper cranes for good luck.

:( I hope she got it, and I hope she liked it. It was a ton of fun to make. :D
