I agree! Those colors are pretty! And, Kittymom, I still predict you'll finish a second blanket before I finish my first ;)

My picture taking abilities don't do the colors justice, ReAllY!  :D

I've entertained ideas of puting together rows as I get them...but have too many irons in the fire right now!  Our DD will be out of the military in December (Merry Christmas to us!!!) and she will be staying in our basement for awhile...stash central needs to be organized and fierce-ly DE-StashED!!  :P  That means a lot more sewing than crocheting at this point. ...it's all good... ;D

I have GD's to share! I received a couple days ago from SaralaAnne. Thanks!

The colors are more earthy, but my flash washed them out. My apartment is a cave that gets no sunlight, so this is the best pic I got.

I love that orange color, and the purple, too!

And, Kittymom, hooray on your daughter coming home! Also, more time sewing is not a bad thing :) I have to start tackling my stash and keep my fingers crossed that the fabric I have in the attic is still good. I'm still in the process of organizing the craft room, but I need to ramp it up so I can get everything back where it belongs (and get one more room painted!).

I'm a horrid swap partner!  I've been carrying my lovely GD's from KittyMom and indigo_roses around in my back pack for a week, but work's been hectic and the hubsters birthday was yesterday, blahblahblah. Anyways, onto the goodness!

Lovely colors! And, I agree, the pink variegated ones are pretty!

If I make another GD blanket, I may decide to do all variegateds joined with black... Of course, I still need to do the first one ;)

Keep at it rubylynns! I'm sure that, all of a sudden, it will click for you. If the videos aren't working, see if someone at a yarn shop can give you a hand. Sometimes seeing things in person works better. Then, you can join us for the next round :)

Piles of GDs just make me so happy! I just came across a baggie of them that I had taken along with me on vacation (a month ago, already!) and was delighted that they were mine and that all of the ends had been finished. For a moment, I thought that I had forgotten to send them to my partner :P But then, my brain kicked in and all was good. They look so cute all stacked up neat little color grouped piles ;)

I attempted to put my GD's together last night. Didn't turn out too bad.. lol Maybe I should wait until my thumb isn't broken! = ]

A broken thumb would be a definite hindrance to joining GDs! Hopefully, it mends quickly!

I feel so restricted.  :'( I could crochet with the splint on but the cast is slowing me down! Yesterday I had my boyfriend be my "left hand". He was holding my work while I crocheted. It was hilarious.

Ha, that's great! I want a boyfriend who would support my crafting like that!

I received my GDs from sweety last week, and have finally been able to get pics uploaded...

Yay for red, purple, and pink to add to my stash! I wasn't liking my original plan for putting together my GDs, so I ripped it out. Now I think I'm going to do a rainbow-esque blanket with all of them once I have enough. While sorting out my colors, I found that I have over twice the amount of blues than any other color! Red, purple, and pink were the colors most lacking, so I was pretty happy when I opened the envelope.  :) I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the variegated ones I have. I've been considering either using them for a border around the main rainbow part, or else doing a separate project with them.

He was the one that suggested it.. lol It was very frustrating at the beginning. -"Okay, Now wrap the yarn around the hook, NO NO! The other way." I wish I wouldve taken pictures. lol

from koalascout, a variety of colors for my next blankie!!! Thank you!!!

Great new additions to the gallery! Love the variety of colors.

indigo_roses, my blanket will be color blocks (it'll have pinks and browns, so it's not really a "rainbow"). I've been collecting my GDs in solid color groups (I have at least 90 of each color group!). I'm leaning towards stripes of color, although if I can figure out a way to make it look good, I may do a spiral effect.

Another awesome batch of GDs!

And, I'm going to attempt to leave feedback right now. I'm still at work (off the clock) killing time until a 7 pm meeting. My records are all at home, so if your feedback seems wrong, let me know!

And, HenriTheOctopus seems to be MIA, so I'm putting out a preliminary call for angels here, in case anyone is interested. If not, I'll put out a general call soon!

Finally, after far too long of a delay, I'm able to post the pictures of the lovely angel GDs I received from indigo_roses and SaralaAnne:

First, from indigo_roses, a bunch of fabulous solids (destined for blanket #1) and a bit of variegateds (destined for blanket #2):

And next, from SaralaAnne, some more lovely solids (and I love the way the colors are grouped in each little bundle!), which are also destined for blanket #1:

Thanks so much ladies!

And now, I think that's the official end of this round! Anyone up for another? :)

I would be up for another, but I don't think I'll have a swap slot open for it until July. There are so many awesome swaps now/coming up! If you do have it earlier, I'll just fake join and make myself some with new yarn I swapped on Ravelry.

I don't mind waiting until July! My end of school year is going to be here before I know it, so I probably won't have my head screwed on straight until the end of June, at least :)

I was just wondering when the next GD swap would be (since I sat this one out).  I was cleaning and found my stash of GDs (257 of them).  And here is my answer!  JULY!  Good to know!  Can't wait for this swap to start up again!  :D

Hi Ladies! I just started up a stationery and note card swap, and once I get partners handed out for that (by July 20th), I'll start another round of GDs!

Although, I could be convinced to start it sooner... :)

So... my summer has been quite a bit busier than I anticipated (I should be doing homework right now... I am almost caught up on an online class that I was 2 1/2 weeks behind in, but I am a month behind in an online book study, and I have 2 detailed lesson plans due by 4 PM tomorrow) due to some traveling (which has been great, but it hasn't helped me get much of anything done at home).

But, due to all of my travels, I have been diligently working on weaving in tails on GDs, and in the course of such diligence, I realized that I don't want to use any browns in my first GD afghan (note the use of the word "first"... just a bit of foreshadowing there... in case you missed it :) ). So, I need some more colorful GDs! In the next week, I'll be tallying up my stacks (and stacks and stacks) of GDs to get me motivated.

Hopefully, by the end of the week I'll have ROUND 10 up and running! Who's with me? ;)

And, fear not... if you sent me GDs of brown shades (or even black, grey or white), I will be using them in a geology themed blanket (maybe entitled "Colors of the Earth" or "Rocks" or something appropriately geeky :) ).

Megz, let me know when summer school ends! I know I hit "post" on my last online class assignment on August 12th (but head back to school a mere 2 weeks later!) and then have a 2-day workshop after that. I'd like to get partners assigned before the madness of a new year and a new group of 100 students :)

So, if I start sign-ups by the end of the week, and end them around the last week of August (I think the kids show up that week, but the first few days are all about making sure the 6th graders don't get lost in our huge building!), would that work?

And, hooray for koalascout and indigo_roses!

That would be perfect. My school ends on August 10th. Then it starts again on the 27th. :P But that means I have over two weeks to crochet!
