I received from nicoleburdsall this week! I finally got out of work early enough to actually still have about 30 minutes of daylight to take pictures (gotta love the northern latitudes).
First, let me just note that my low-light photography just doesn't capture how SPARKLY everything is - even the blue text on the front of the card has sparkles in it!

It's the 9th doctor! He's my favorite! So awesome that she drew him by hand, I'm really impressed. And I love how it's all put together too, with stars and a teeny TARDIS in the background.
Here's the card and all the pretty wrapping it came with, and you can see how super sparkly the back is too.

Thanks Nicole! He's already got a place of honor on my wall. ;D

That is a beautiful piece of artwork!!!  Nice job!!!  I love how you encompassed the tardis blue with a glimmer!!!

I LOVE that pendant from the necklace! Gorgeous!
I also have a soft spot for #9, he was my "first" doctor... though I can't hide my serious love for 10 either. But that drawing is amazing! And by hand!!

So excited to see more!

Aww thanks everyone! And I'm so glad you like it ChameleonHound :D He was my first doctor too, and there's something about him that's just endearing.
Also, sparkly blue is practically NECESSARY for Dr. Who things!

I'm so excited to see everything everyone else made!

I just got the most awesome package from teamama today.  we agreed on the ott and an extra but she went above and beyond....

first this great little mickey bag... I love little bags so much, and she probably didn't even know that... and it's filled with candy!

Then a bigger on the inside Tardis bag... and trinket box with Amy in gallifreyian on the top...

And the bag opened up with come along pond on the back... and the goodies from inside the box.. an excellent doctor necklace, a dalek necklace that makes me smile so much.. and key earrings.

And my card, which is beautiful, and the front of my bigger on the inside bag, which is genius!

Thanks so much Teamama you rocked it!

I'm SO glad you like everything! :D
And even MORE glad that it arrived safely and in good time! I've had a bit of a run of weird luck with the post, and I was a bit concerned when all the info I was getting from the postal tracking was "arrived in a foreign country" :S

Anyways, I'm glad you're happy with everything - what a bonus that you love little bags so much! I just got my first ever sewing machine for Christmas and have been sewing like a fiend ever since!

Tea.

Here's a quick pic of the card I sent for amymarie

I was actually QUITE nervous about the card, because if you ever stalk amymarie you'd know that she's a HUGELY talented paper artist (I spent a lot of time on your blog) but I thought the paper was so "timey wimey"! Just wanted to share.

Well, the tote has it's own thread... and now that my brother-in-law has seen it (on my blog) he has demanded requested that I make him one too. So, when I'm doing that, I'll try and take a bunch of pics along the way and add a tutorial. But really - it's a super simple little foldable tote. I mean, I'm a pretty novice sewer, so if I can do it - everyone can! :)

I saw your thread. I'd love a tutorial as well. I got a sewing machine for Christmas and only made clothes so far.

I work in a library, I keep wanting to knit a bag to carry my books/Movies/Audiobooks in, but I may just need to make a tote instead.

I received from Chameleonhound! Such wonderful timey wimeyness!

First of all, the card and the package. My favorite color is rainbow, and she ran with it even in her packaging! And the card is #11 with Amy and Rory!

Then the box! I'm going to have to find something awesome to keep in it.

And finally...

The cutest polymer clay charm necklace ever! (From left to right: bow tie [Bow ties are cool!], weeping angel [my favorite episodes!], "wibbly wobbley, timey whimey... stuff." [my FAVORITE quote], dalek [probably the most lovable of the villians], and, of course, a tardis!) And again, she totally used my favorite "color." She suggested in the card that I may want to use the pendants separately, which would hypothetically mean 5x the awesome!

Thank you so much Chameleonhound! I will love it forever!

Recieved my package from mightyminniemouse

Inventory:
one zippered pouch with Tardis design in beads
one wrist pin cushion
3 pins in pin cushion
3 bags of skittles (one fell off table when I was arranging photos)
1 nice hand written letter (not pictured)

Isn't it pretty?.

Thank you to my partner. I've already included the tardis pouch in my Knitted Bag of stuff.

I will use the pin cushion soon...maybe the universe is telling me to sew a bag like Teamama :D

Glad you like everything Eiseldora! I'm thinking of making myself a wrist pin cushion as well, 'cause I miss it so! Will probably never attempt that beading again though. ACK! Ended up having to do it all on a bead loom, then attaching it!

I received from Amymarie78 today!
I was pretty excited because I've been having kind of a crummy week, and just  yesterday I said to the hubs "Well that's ood... we haven't had any mail in a while!" (And yes, I did say "Well that's ood..." I say it a lot, he thinks it's funny.... I think it's hilarious :P ha ha)

What's even MORE ood is that the post carrier delivered this today, to our door (and rung the bell, which is mighty strange) and....

I got an Ood! :D

I love the Ood ("Love a good Ood!")

For size:

Amy and I also agreed on an extra - and this one takes the cake!
A TARDIS notebook! (which, by the way, I immediately wrote "bigger" on the inside of the front cover... so now it has "bigger" on the inside ;) )

And I totally love this because I'm a musician and I'm always coming up with wacky little lyrics and poems and now I'll always have something to jot them down in! Perfecto!

and last I want you to see this fab little card that she sent as well: like I said, Amy's paper crafting skillz are AWESOME! Behold:

THANK YOU SO MUCH AMYMARIE78!!!

I received from Merliquin today!

I'm going to take it to school and show my students.  I caught one of them grafitti'ng "bad wolf" in the bathroom and we bonded (after we talked about not defacing things).  Since then, they bring me other students who like Who, too.   :D

Thank you for a fun swap!

I was just thinking that if I had caught the kid, I would've gotten him a bigger marker. Or some dark oil based paint... one that's hard to cover up!

So I opened it up...

A Tardis bookmark and a cute little card and then, the very best part!!!

Etched glass drinking glasses with two of my favorite Who villians!!!!!!! They are soooo awesome!!!! I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!! So there's a weeping angel and on the back it says "Don't Blink" and the other one is a cyberman and the back says "Delete!" They are so awesome. I was jumping and giggling with excitement when I opened it. :)

pjr107 is dealing with some personal stuff, so I offered to post pictures of what I sent her.

She said her favorite companion was K-9, so I made him for her.

And a top view of the control panel.

I also made a pencil/makeup case with a Tardis on it.

I hope she likes everything.

OMG you guys, I received from dragonflyducky today and it is amazing and she is the BEST EVER and seriously, yay. Yay!

She made me a tiny Ten! Look at his adorable hair! And the shoes! And the glasses (which are removable)! And his adorable hair! (I'm really digging the hair.)

Also, there were adipose stitch markers!

Which is wonderful because I'm sort of addicted to pretty stitch markers.

Here's the lot of what was sent:

Paper Dalek! (Which promply replaced the Harry Potter bookmark that was in my current read.) She wrote her note on the back of the TARDIS.

I requested a tiny Ten for my incredibly awesome diorama for which I've made a weeping angel. Here's what it looks like now:

I'm eventually going to knit a TARDIS, but the note card is a great stand in!

(And seriously, did you see Ten's little cowlick?)

I made some ridiculous squealing noises when I opened this. Because it is amazing. Thank you so much dragonflyducky/Kerstin!!!

I received! And I'm so thrilled with what I got.

First, this wonderful little knit bag with my favourite adversaries

And inside....tens of buttons of, well, ten. As well as my favourite companions (Donna, Jack), the Tardis,River, Nine and Eleven.

And lastly, Chocolate wrapped in David Tennant (if you read some of the early posts from swap check in you'll know why I giggled.) And both pictures feature David's butt :)

The chocolate did not survive long enough to be photographed (crunch, crunch, chew, swallow)

And then a cute little sonic screwdriver flashlight:

And best of all... TARDIS SOCKS!!!

Jealous?  YOU SHOULD BE!!  I've been wearing them since I opened the package.  I'll be spending Sunday at mandymo13's, so you can bet I'll be sticking my kick-ass feet in her face all during the Super Bowl!!

I received my awesome package from sparky1131!  I was too excited to get a picture of the box before I unwrapped it but it had a printout of 11 (my fav) and was wrapped in tardis blue tissue and tardis blue tape!  First I unwrapped this:
I have wanted an adipose stamp forever and now I have one!  I can't wait to dress him up with the fez and bowtie!  Next I found this:
The photo does not do it justice and hopefully sparky has a better one!  It has a quote from my favourite episode as well as a weeping and a terrifying angel!  Finally I saw this lovely Tardis box and wondered what what inside:

You will all be jealous when you see who I found:

Sparky actually made the chocolate David Tennant we were talking about at the beginning of the swap!  I don't know how I will be able to eat him because he is so wonderful (even though she made him gluten free!).

Thanks sooo much sparky1131!  This has been a fantastic swap!

I received an amazing package from Rene24601!!

I put these earrings on as soon as I'd opened everything.  I'm not a fan of large pieces of jewelry (unless, of course, we're talking diamonds  ;)) and these are the perfect size, I absolutely LOVE them!

I opened the larger part of the package, and what should I find...?  A TARDIS photo cube, complete with both my favorite doctor and his favorite companion!  She even made me a "stolen earth," based on the title of my favorite two-parter episode!!

She put so much care and attention to detail into this.  The doctor is holding his sonic screwdriver and Rose's hair is very well painted, with highlights and everything and you can easily tell that Rose has a hoodie on (the picture doesn't do it justice)!

I love it all so much!!  I even took Rose and the Doctor on an outing shortly after arriving, lol.

I am so happy with what I received!!

I also got my awesome package from Stove37!  I was so so happy with everything she sent!  I was really active in swapping on here in 2004-05 but I kept getting flaked on.  I had 4 swaps in a row and decided I was done.  So, Eiseldora said "you should get back on Craftster so you can do this Dr. Who swap" and I thought I'd give it another try.  I'm so very happy I did!  What a great experience. :)

I got this amazing TARDIS pouch (perfect stitching and fabric!! And she didn't even know I have a secret love of pouches - everything in my purse in containerized) holding a sewing kit which includes: Dalek measuring tape (feels like I better be careful not to measure incorrectly!), sonic seam ripper (very stoked) and an adorable adipose pin cushion!  I also got a very special extra, a drawing by her daughter, which made me also very happy.  I put it on my fridge with my Dr Who magnet.

and a little closer up

Thanks for the compliments on my choco 10.  Of course being me I've grumbled about his face.  Couldn't get it right then got wonkier in silicone then even wonkier in chocolate.  Ah well, I think I got his stance and suit right, so just bite his head off first and all will be well. :)  I was also a little sorry the chocolate bloomed (that whitish look chocolate gets when heated sometimes - doesn't hurt it, just looks weird). I'm including a pic of his bum, as that was the fuel for the discussion, and I liked the way it turned out...

I have these pics of the angel glass, though I'm not sure they're better.  I put a napkin in to try and make a dark background but it kind of made the scary angel look like he has an afro.  Oh well.

Also, since someone asked, I sculpted Tennant out of polymer clay, then cast two silicone molds (front and back) using the sculpture, then cast the chocolate in the silicone mold.  Yes, I realize this is a ridiculous amount of work to achieve a chocolate Dr., but I love a challenge. :)

I'm glad you liked your package sparky!  Thanks for putting up that rear shot.  I would have taken one myself but my husband and kids were standing around me and I really didn't want to explain the chocolate bum! lol  I think you should start a geeky chocolate shop on etsy!  I bet Han Solo in carbonite would sell almost as well as a choco-tennant!  I don't know why you don't like the face!  It's awesome, especially the glasses!  I think you should post a picture of his front as well so we can see him in his full glory, before the mailman broke his legs!

Chocolate Tennant = super-awesome-amazing-goodness that will most definitely be pinned after I post this!!! I can't believe you actually made a chocolate David Tennant.  :-* You rock!

I received my package from ecopp the other day. Here's a pic of everything -

There's her first attempt at a stamp, some DW stickers she printed, and a TARDIS bookmark (over the size limit, so she sent it along as an extra). The bookmark's already in use!

Here's a close-up of the stamp.

Thanks for the package, ecopp!

I have pictures of the wonderful item I received from Tabzilla.

Tabzilla sent me the most brilliant thing I could have, a book. As a child, I slept with my books, instead of dolls.

It is a proper little book with a reinforced spine and endpapers. Her work is great too. When I hold it in my hand, it feels like a brand-new book, the spine is still stiff. The best part? She is a librarian.

For her project, she knew I am impressed with drawings, so she found several wonderful fan art pictures, got their permission to use their art work, paired up pictures with quotes from Nine and Rose's (only) season.

Check out the Tardis/book.  ;)

It even has endpapers that I think look like a field of stars.

Front or book title page.

She did a great job matching different art work with quotes. Don't these two look like they could be having this conversation?

This page is special because of the font. This is a quote from a Dalek speaking to Rose. Since the Dalek is mostly machine, she made the font look mechanical. It sounds like a Dalek.

For the last picture, Tabzilla chose a picture that feels as if the two are looking off toward the future, but the quote is one of the last things Nine said to Rose.

'Rose, before I go I just wanna tell you- you were fantastic. Absolutely fanfastic. And d'you know what?
So was I!'

I simply could not have been better paired.

Thank you so much Tabzilla, I hope you enjoy your OTT as much I as I will.

Thank you so much Lilak Tygress and Mandymo13 for hosting! I can't wait for the next Dr. Who swap.

Feel free to yell at me if this is too off topic, but since someone mentioned Han Solo, I had to post this:

It's a cake I made for my friend Justin.  Han sculpted out of tootsie rolls. :)

Also made this last weekend:

And since Stove37 asked, here's the front of choco-Tennant, in his TARDIS (though her picture is perfectly fine).

I could make Choco-Tennants for people if they wanted... I wouldn't want Stove37's to be less special, so if she didn't care.

hey, sort of off subject, but figured I would ask:
Can any of you British crafters swap me for a copy of the newest NME magazine? (with noel fielding on the cover)
I would personal swap for supplies or cash or whatever.

I used to have a local place where I could buy in in the states, but they closed :(

Yeah, me either!  It was fine on the angled glasses.  I cut out the image from paper using an x-acto, then used it to stencil onto masking tape on a cutting board, then cut out that with the x-acto and put it on the glass, so I don't think the angle would matter.  If it were curved, that would be harder.  The logo on the bottom was an awesome touch.

They are fab! :) And I love that you took little Rose and the Doctor out on the town for an adventure... just like old times. :) Glad you like them Summer. crazy idea.... tennant soap.

Or how about..................

TENNANT EVERYTHING!

Though I wouldn't mind rubbing my naked body down with a little bit of Ten!  ;)

Tennant Soap OMG.. I'd die.. My poor mother just doesn't see the sexiness that is David Tennant. That man deserves to be wrapped in chocolate and laid out so we ladies can have a taste. He is the only reason I would support cloning, well him and Michael C Hall but that's a totally different obsession.. :)

You ladies have inspired me to make myself some Tennant bodywash. I imagine it would smell on the lines of an intoxicating and feminine blend of musk, patchouli, and sandlewood, with light notes of cedar, and chocolate.

I absolutely love the glasses.. I want a set of Doctor Who to go along with my Harry Potter ones :)

and sparky you are very talented at decorating things. Maybe you should set up an etsy shop of custom molded chocolates and cupcake toppers :D /hug

That's what I told sparky as well!  Imagine all our fangirl crushes as chocolate?  And I wouldn't mind if you made more choco-Tennants!  I couldn't deprive the world of his chocolate bum!  I will have this board as proof that I had the first!  lol

I cut out the image from paper using an x-acto, then used it to stencil onto masking tape on a cutting board, then cut out that with the x-acto and put it on the glass, so I don't think the angle would matter.

It took me a while to figure out how I was going to do my stencils. After a few (very frustrating) failed attempts, I bought some large shipping labels. I printed the images directly on to the labels and adhered them to the glass, then proceeded to use the x-acto to cut the stencil.  The only bad thing was that the stencils could only be used once because they were just a useless lump of wet paper once I rinsed the cream off.

Rene24601 - I know as soon as my nephew sees my little Doctor and Rose he's going to want them both - he loves miniature things that he can play with :).

I agree with everyone, David Tennant Everythings all around! I love the chocolate and the soap idea made me grin like a fool, lol.

hey, sort of off subject, but figured I would ask:
Can any of you British crafters swap me for a copy of the newest NME magazine? (with noel fielding on the cover)
I would personal swap for supplies or cash or whatever.

I used to have a local place where I could buy in in the states, but they closed :(

I bet I could find that at the airport newsstand or in town. Will look for you..

I just opened my package from Lilak Tygress and boy, is it amazing. Just what I needed after some bad news today.

First, a sea-salt scrub with almond and orange oil. It says EXFOLIATE! and has a picture of a Dalek in the bathtub. And there's a little TARDIS teaspoon to measure it!

Next is a TARDIS mug, which is so great at first I wasn't sure that she actually made it!

She made the weeping angel charm on this tea infuser, which I will probably use a lot for coffee and tea. I don't know if she used polymer clay, but it is very detailed.

And as an added bonus, chocolate-covered spoons with marshmallows with Gallifrey messages.

Thanks so much!

I got my package!
Thank you so much oodleboodle! I have definitely been needing some coasters, and was kinda sad I didn't do the mug rug swap, but lo and behold I got more than I would have in that! And it's Dr Who! lol

So, here is all of it wrapped up:

I got a journal! Oh, wait, it's a secret compartment! lol And 3 coasters! One of 10 (The tie), one of 11 (the bowtie) and the tardis!

And the inside:

And THIS is what was making my package smell so good! Homemade Jammie Dodgers! (I have to say these may have been the best part...and there is only one let as we speak because I had to share...:) )

Thank you so much, oodleboodle!

Post by: tabzilla on February 08, 2012 03:24:38 PM
I received, and it is AWESOME!

First off, I managed to spread the love of Ood to my partner, rottenllittleboys.  Always a bonus!  Because damn I love the Ood.  And what could an Ood-loving librarian ask for that is better than this package? Nothing, that's what - because I got a cross-stitched Ood bookmark and a bonus bookplate! Requested especially by the two thoughtful Ood adorning my bookmark. ;)

The bookplate has a tree with its roots hugging a book, I love it.  I will have to find a very special book to use it in.  And oh my goodness, LOOK AT THIS BOOKMARK!  It has an Ood in its natural state!

It has an Ood with a translator orb!

And it is backed in a gorgeous blue fabric that reminds me of space!  It is really lovely, I would wear a whole dress made out of fabric that looks like this.  The photo doesn't quite do the colour justice.

Thank you so much for being my craft partner, rottenlittleboys!  I think we wound up being perfectly suited to one another. :)

I am really tickled you like them Tabzilla. I laughed when I saw you sent me a book when I had sent you the bookmark and the bookplate. ;)

Honestly I think we were perfectly matched on this swap. :D

The backing material reminded me of the opening sequence with the TARDIS flying through space.

Is that a beaded TARDIS? My, it looks like it could be larger on the inside?  :D

Here is a picture a little truer to color for the back of Tabzilla's bookmark.

that Ood bookmark is really cool! rottenlittleboys you must be great at cross-stitching because a pattern like that you would have to design on your own!
and that TARDIS pocket....how cool is that? I do repeat rottenlittleboys question though, "is it beaded" it looks like it is.

I received my OTT from loudxmouse today! I am in the UK for a few more days and the package was sent to my parent's in California so I Skyped with them and had my mom open everything for me. The items are fabulous plus I got a whole bunch of chocolates and teas! I can't wait to see them in focus :)

I received from Honeybone! I love everything so much, thank you! Please forgive the not so great pics, my camera is packed away (I'm in the middle of a move) so I had to use my phone. As soon I find the camera I will add better pics.

Okay first was this awesome Silence box

Next were some very tasty sweets (they are almost gone already)

An awesome cross stitched 11 needlebook

Front

back

Next is this beautiful ring (the picture does not do it justice). If you can't tell is an image of River,10, and Donna.

Then there was this friendship bracelet. It is suppose to represent the TARDIS going through space. It's very pretty, I wish the picture would show the sparkle in it.

And finally these blue rose earrings. I LOVE these so much!

I really can't narrow down a favorite, thanks again Honeybone!

"HERE COME THE DRUMS, HERE COME THE DRUMS!"
That's what's been going through my head since I opened my little brown envelope from ehinders this afternoon  :D and OMG!!!!!! We were perfectly matched! Not only did she send my a paper make your own Dalek (which I almost sent her a make your own Tardis lol) arrrgggggg SPOILERS I can't say anymore until she gets hers. So without further ado....get ready to wist and pin...

my very own Time Lord Fob Watch plus an added extra of a Weeping Angel pendant. I'm going out tomorrow to get a chain for the pendant and sadly I lost the watch just after taking the picture...ehinders my son says "OMG OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE IT I'LL WEAR IT ALL THE TIME. LOL GET IT MUM...TIME"
Well at least I still get to wear the weeping angel which works out great for me because in August of last year at the Toronto FanExpo I dressed up as one! Thanks so much I love everything I hope you get yours soon.

The pics are shrunk down from a girl's livejournal. She recreated the pages from the journal of impossible things. Here's the link: http://tenored.livejournal.com/8194.html

The fob watch I bought for ehinders then totally botched so I didn't send it (I can say this now cause she recieved) I bought at Micheals craft store. But when I went to get another one they had none left! Can you imagine if I sent it to her? We would have sent each other the same thing! That would have been so cool  8)

I received from Jullianna13 the other day and am finally posting pics. (Sorry, hubby had stolen camera and it took me awhile to get it back!) ;)

Prepare to be jealous! Here's the whole shebang:

There was a nice note, and then a Doctor Who mini coloring book:

A bottle cap pin (fob watch!) and a bracelet with 11 beads (one for each Doctor!)

A fabulous necklace with the Police box sign:

And finally, what I think is my favorite thing, a Tardis key with shrinky dinks!

Yay! Thanks so much Jullianna! I love everything. I can't believe we almost sent each other the same thing! ;) To be honest, I had a hard time sending you that watch.I wanted to keep it pretty bad! Luckily, I have supplies to make another. :)

a mini journal. seriously, these things are like crack to me, can never have enough! capnstubtooth said she tried out a new craft for this swap and I guess this it is, it is REALLY well made! I'm impressed
a tardis needlebook! I find it awesome we both sent each other needlebooks! I love this one, it is super cool, and full of needles already!

Yay! So glad you (and your ultimate Doctor Who Nerd hubby!) like it!! Once I had everything pieced together I realized my dimensions might not be accurate keeping in line with the "tiny" theme...but there was no going back once I started sewing it together by hand. Ah, the things we do for these swaps! There are little bits of blue and white felt scattered around the house, and I've vacuumed three times!!  ;D

This was my favorite swap. I'd love to do a full size Doctor swap!

Is that a beaded TARDIS? My, it looks like it could be larger on the inside?  :D

Here is a picture a little truer to color for the back of Tabzilla's bookmark.

Not beaded, just cross stitched and then sewn to a jean pocket I had lying around.
