Title: Chunky book pages
Post by: LovelyMiss on December 11, 2011 04:38:57 AM
I came across these pages that I made for a swap a while back.  I really like how all of them turned out, so I thought I'd give them their own post on this board.

Theme:  Forest critters

The hedgehog is made out of embroidery floss.  The background is shimmery blue paper.

Theme:  Myths

I put fiber-fill under contact paper to give the ground some dimension, and then covered it with glue and real sand.  The stars are glow in the dark embroidery floss.

Theme:  Paul Bunyan

His beard, eyebrows, hair, and shoelaces are embroidery floss, his axe is silver Sculpey, and tree cuts are just wooden discs that drew on with colored pencil.  I also put a coat of glossy Mod Podge on the lakes in the background.

Theme:  Reading

The quote I used is apparently inscribed above the entrance of the Library at Thebes.

Theme:  Gothic castles

I used real rocks and gravel-like sand...it ended up weighing a lot!  The back is a cool metal frame embellishment...thing.  :)

Thank you!  You're all so kind!  They were hard to give away...but I would not have made them if not for the swap, so I was happy to ship them off to the people who inspired them.  :)
