Lookie what I got from suereal!

An "emergency cosmo" kit (perfect for those times when you just must mix a cosmo, but you're not at home  :D) and a very awesome vintage look truck:

The headlights are painted with glow in the dark paint, so they actually glow at night!

Check out the little driver. I love this little guy so much. suereal carved his head out of a bead:

Why do you think that pumpkin looks so frightened? Could it be the fact that he's figured out he's riding in the....

Punkinater!!!

 :D :D :D
Cracks me up every time.

Thanks so much suereal! Your package is taped up and ready to go and will be in the mail tomorrow.  :)

Punkinater.
Sheesh...

That is a really original idea.  The antiquing on that vehicle is great (or was it already like that?)  The license plate reminds me of that movie...  uh...  Jeepers Creepers where the creeper's license plate reads "BEATNGU".  They thought "beating you" at first, but really it's "be eating you".

Oh look!  A gallery!  Some times I forget that part happens in swaps  *blush*.

And oh goodness!  I recognize that!  I'm so glad you like it all rackycoo.  He was fun to make.  The truck started out as a dollar store kit.  (It's amazing what you can get for a buck some times!).  I was at my folks, so I just added a coat of paint everytime I needed to be crafty (which might have been 2 or 3 times a day some days).  And then I just beat on it with a hammer till it looked like my Popop's truck.  It's a good thing it wasn't a balsa wood kit....

I do have another small thing I will be mailing out soon.  It's what I wanted to do originally, but I forgot what I needed to take when I went to my folks.  I just wanted to take advantage of mailing in the States when I could, so that is why it's in two fazes ;D

I received my amazing package from irid3sc3nt today! It was a welcome sight after my LONG day at work! ;D

I sort of got super excited and hung up the garland before getting a great pic of it.  ::) I had a window that was in need of some Halloween happiness so it looks great draped from the drape. It is sweet little prim pumpkins with funny faces and it is all hand sewn!

Here is a terrible photo of it's new home. I just thought it was funny I was so excited to hang it up.  :D irid3sc3nt if you have a better photo please post!

Next is the amazing framed embroidery! I love ravens and was so excited to see this dapper gentleman!

The frame is perfectly vintage too. He found the perfect home with my Halloween tree!

Thanks so much irid3sc3nt! Now to go get your package finished up!

That cute lil truck is darling and the raven pic is way cool! :)   (and the garland too!)

Indeed it is.  The frame itself is thrifted and I "vintaged" it.

SO much cool stuff!! I must admit, after seeing what has been sent, I am a bit anxious with the makings I have going on. I seem to be vacillating between suitability and totally out of bounds in my opinions of my projects!! I hope they are appropriately vintage enough for my partner!!!

I got one more package from suereal! A great little card, a circus book with a little twisted plot (love it!) and a fabric postcard with that suereal style we all love so much: a black cyclops Halloween cat.  :D The card has magnets sewn in, so I can stick it almost anywhere. Thanks so much suereal!

I'm trying not to get an attitude about the fact that I sent my package to Canada before you sent this one to the US. Hopefully you'll get something from me soon.   :)

Things do seem to take a bit longer to get to me then my packages getting to folks in the States.  It may have a bit to do with I get my packages through an outlet...or it may be the boarder messing with my head..."OK!  Here's another box to that Susi person.  Stick it in that corner over there for a few days..".  But so far, not one of my packages has been lost either direction (knock on wood or anything else that might keep it that way..), so I just try and concentrate on that.  I'm glad stage two got there OK and that you like it all..Oh and the card was not made by me.  It was made bytlh878 for the 13 days of Halloween swap last year

I received a super-duper package from goatgoddess.
Here is a shot of the whole thing. Sorry it's so far back...I wanted to get the whole garland in the shot.

A picture of the 'Boo' hanging. Notice the scary skeleton hands!

Here are some detail pictures of all the spooky goodness. Everything is hand stamped, painted and collaged.
So much care and work went into these pieces. I really appreciate that!

Now that's what I'm talking about...a cocktail drinking skeleton!

And my favorite bit...LOVE the whole moon/tree/witch combo. Really like how the creepy witch is peering around the tree, stalking the children.
The little girl holding the kitty looks appropriately scared.  ;D

My photos don't do the colors and detail justice.  Things are a wee bit blurry as I was holding the camera over my head. GG, if you've got better pictures, please post them!
Thank you very much for being my swap partner!

I got my package yesterday-so exciting! My partner, burstofpanties, totally spoiled me. Look at all of this goodness!

First is the amazing Day of the Dead mask..I love the designs and the flowers attached at the top-how cool is this?

Second is this incredible pennant banner..each pennant is different and made with beautiful halloween papers, front and back..

this one features some shiny spiders-don't you love the black ball fringe around the edges??

This one has a spooky raven..

..and this one has a cute jack-o-lantern (sorry about the glare.)

Look at these cute little skeleton clips! I had so much fun posing them.

And last but not least, a bag of little goodies: candy, cute vintage Halloween cards, a little cat that gets bigger in water, a ghost toy, and the sweetest little walking pumpkin man.

Burstofpanties, thank you so much for the beautiful package. It was a delight to open and I look forward to displaying your creations for years to come (except for the candy heh heh.) You are the best!

So many cool things!  And I get to add to the pile of cool because....My Package Came From RACKYCOO Today!! (well yesterday, but all I got yesterday was the delivery slip)

Package number 1 was this adorable wee pumpkin.  He sits atop a vintage wooden block (I had a set when I was teeny tiny so I secretly love them tiny cubes to bits).  He gets two photos because I couldn't get a clear photo of where he will be sitting for a bit.  But he seems quite happy on my mantel with a poodle, lucky kitty and fugu fish.

Package 2 made me ssqquuee all over the place...

My beloved wee dog Cosmo all dressed up for Halloween!!!  I just love this to pieces racky.  He looks so distinguished in the steampunk out fit ;D

and THEN there was package 3.

This fabulous Halloween clock.  The skelly with the clown bum makes me laugh everytime I look at it.  The works of the clock are in an Altoid tin, which I had never thought of but is such a clever idea.

Thank you sooooo much rackycoo.  I just LOVE everything ;D ;D ;D

Wow, some very talented people in this swap! I rec'd today and here are the pics. Thanks grasshopper!!!!

A coffin keychain from her Dad's funeral parlor! How sweet is that? It's tiny and perfect.

A beautiful punkin orange glass focal necklace, the pic can't possibly do it justice:

A vintage mummy, I love him!

An absolutely beautiful bracelet and here I show it with the bead showing that to me looks like an orange and blue eyeball. Awesome, wearing it tomorrow to work!

And the cream of the crop, a primitive punkin mummy!!!! He is adorable, he looks like he is sighing and rolling his eyes. He is coming with me to work tomorrow, so I can show him off to my co-workers who are not quite clear what a "craft-swap" is. You get and give fun stuff, that's what! There is also some wolfman stamps for stamping. As you can see by this pic, the orange of the beads and necklace are really sharp.

I am so happy grasshopper! The punkinman is going on our hutch, maybe for the whole year. :)

I received from hoppy early this week (we live so close to one a another)! And I am in love with my package!
She sent me two papier mache jack o lanterns, with small electrical votives! Excuse my cobwebs but doesn't it go perfect with my Nightmare Before Christmas Print?! LOVE!!!

She also sent me a card and the most amazing Dias de Los Muertes necklace, I love all the little details right done to the little bones in it!!! I wore it today out running errands- I received compliments everywhere I went, I told them my new friend made it!

LOVED everything! Those lanterns are going to be hung year around! Thanks hoppy!!! :-D

I was away from home for a week and I came back yesterday to find my package from AlwaysInspired.
Prepare to Pin It.

My very own one-of-a-kind prim.  It's a skelly moon man!  He has a little top hat and a bat!

Detail of the cute lil bat.

I took a picture from the side so you can kind of see the stitching.  This isn't flat by any means, it was (looks like) handstitched around each element.

I also received original artwork in a pretty frame!

Here's a closeup of just the artwork.  Is it watercolor?  It has some subtle shading around the cat and the moon.  I like their grins.

Thank you, Deana! :-*

So glad you like it! Yes, the prim is hand sculpted. It was my first go at using a formal pattern for a prim. The original art work is done in water soluble crayons ( like watercolor crayons) and water soluble graphite with a touch of ink.

That moon and bat are wicked cool...but I must ask...What is a prim exactly?  As far as I can tell from googling it is "an excessive decoration" or "tightly pursed lips" or several other definitions meaning "proper" or "prissy".  Just wondering what the crafty definition is ;D

Hey darlin', I believe 'prim' is short for primitive.  ;D  But don't take my word for it....I used to think it was short for primate. Or some kind of cocktail that makes one act like a monkey.........

I love the moon man, he is wonderful.

My husband was confused by "prim" as well.  He doesn't think it fits at all.
Primitives to me are simple designs using simple crafting techniques, or at least making it look simple even if the process took really long.  They're kind of faded and employ objects like rusted wire and other vintage ephemera.
At least, that's what they're like to me.

It makes sense once it was pointed out...but at first all I could think of was "prim and proper", which is the compleat opposite.  But that is the fun of the English language ;D

Yes, prim is short for primitive. I like making more complicated prims, but they tend to stay in that category because they are grubbied or distressed. I'm not into the extreme primitives, but love the grubby, old look.

Yes!  Looking up primitive Halloween online gave a variety of what people described as a prim.  One craft I saw I would have described as "country folk art" rather than prim.  It starts to blur a bit.

Here is my great loot from CDEeeek!!!

First, a Piggly Wiggly bag!  We don't have those here and I collect pigs!!

A vintage owl potholder and a cool cat shaped vintage noisemaker!  I love these!!  My principal already told me to "Can it!" with my new clang-clang!!  Apparently, he is not in the Halloween spirit yet!   :D

A paper and wood halloween-y version of my name- grasshopper!!!

The snappiest little paper covered boxes!

One had buttons, one had a TV charm with an owl picture and the other had a old clown figurine and a tiny black cat!

Three hangings made out of paper plates!  These are hanging in my office here at school!!

AND, some chocolate (YUM!!!) and bangle-ly, jangle-ly bracelets!  Plus, an itty-bitty card making kit!!

I am sorry my photography skills are pretty crappy!  I tried to take off the date stamps and couldn't figure it out.  (I am not having a technology-friendly day today!)

I love all of my stuff!!  You did great, CDEeeek!!

I am glad you liked them, grasshopper. I had a lot of fun making them! And it's flattering that you have them up at school. Glad we swapped, it was a lot of fun having you for a partner!

This swap is SO quiet!  Is everyone in a candy corn coma? ;)

Anyway.  I got the best package from LittleNutBrownSquirrel.  It's a nice Halloween book - and then you open it and it's a really wonderful, detailed Halloween-scape.  The banner is made of teeny, tiny fabric pennants all sewn together.  The cat is paper clay (hard to believe it's the first time she's used it) and the candy corn is also clay.

And the best part - this amazing little cat (he fell in transit but I think I put him back in the right place - sitting on the fence like a proper Halloween cat). She's definitely got some mad painting skills.

She was a great stalker.  I completely love it!

Oh my goodness! Rough travel! His little leggies broke! His butt WAS glued to the pumpkin :(

No - they didn't break - just little cracks.  I'll run a little black paint over them and they'll be fine.

Oh, it's so cute!  I like the buttons (I am a sucker for buttons) on the front of the book and how the interior is a fun Halloween scene.  I recognize that cat ;)
