Package #1 Received from thisbirdsabsurd

How lucky am I??  I received package 1 from thisbirdsabsurd this afternoon.  I am loving getting to know her via emails, PMs and now her first package.  As it turns out, we have a lot in common!  Here's a shot of everything I received.

She sent me Starbucks caramel coffee.  I am a coffee and tea addict and flavored coffee is the only kind we buy (and the nearest Starbucks is an hour away).  Can't wait to try it.  For her something local, I received Beach Blossom Honey.  My husband and I have our own bees and love to try different kinds.  Satsuma fragrance was something she thinks smells good and I totally agree!  I had to look it up, it's a Japanese citrus fruit and smells heavenly!  The enameled sheep and antique key are from her favorite store (fun!).  The Distress Ink and fabric are favorite craft supply/craft (I love that ink pad and sent her fabric, too.  We share that obsession)   :)

This little elf is handmade (!) and represents Christmas, her favorite holiday.  So cute (and so talented)!

Something to read is this charming antique book with the bonus of a very old pressed flower inside.  The weeping willow embroidery covers a sketch pad to carry in my purse.  That willow tree is patterned after our farm logo which my daughter designed.  So pretty and so personal.

Fabric bowls are for organization.  My husband already claimed one for his bedside 'stuff'.  Evidently MY cat (who sleeps inside his jacket all day while he works from home on the computer) broke his last one, which was made from ceramic.

Parrot feathers!  Donated by her beautiful birds.  I'm going to have to think really hard about what to use them for... so precious.

Wow....Something from paper was a watercolor painting.  Of a goat.  Of one of my goats.  Of actually my favorite goat Hermione!  Thisbird's evidently been cruising my blog...  I have a place of honor planned for this.  What an incredibly talented, generous and sweet partner I have for this swap.   Thank you so much thisbirdsabsurd!!!

Okay...prepare yourself for the awesomeness.
First of all, I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with "The Most Interesting Man in the World", but Missing Willow is his female counterpart.  :)  She has quite the resume of unusual and - well - INTERESTING past jobs and of course presently lives a life that I can only dream of.    Seems we have quite a few things in common though and I am just tickled pink to have her as my partner for this swap.  Okay, on with the show!
Here's the shot of the whole she-bang.  TWO boxes full to the brim!!

Notice all the cute handmade bags that all my goodies came packaged in!!
Here's "something from her favorite store - CafePress. A mug with her farm logo on it!
And something she thinks smells good - beeswax candles - from her very own bees!

Now comes something she carries in her purse which is really four somethings and came with a funny story about her and cackle - another awesome craftster! A Notebook for great ideas and recipes, index cards to write down gift ideas for family and friends throughout the year, Dr.Pepper Lip Smackers and an adorable business card holder!!

A kitchen essential is a shiny new ladle and something edible is two glorious , blue ribbon winning jars of homemade jam.  You may notice that one jar is missing...I wonder where it went.... ;)

Something for organization - some handy dandy little containers - I love little boxes of any kind so these were a thrill - lol!

A summer essentioal is this beautiful beach towel - can't imagine why she chose birds!  ;)

Check out these Bride of Frankenstein earrings - representing her favorite holiday - HALLOWEEN!  I will, however, be sporting these year round.

I didn't get an individual shot of the "essential to your favorite craft" butterfly fabric - but you can see it in the group shot - and something with her favorite animal on it was a sheep (she raises them) on a punch needle kit.  I've never tried this before but I will soon!!  And something drinkable is this delicious looking tea - yum!

I also got a bonus of a packet of heirloom tomato seeds - so exciting especially because tomatoes seem to be the only thing I can grow with any sort of success around here!
PHEW!  I told you this was awesome - thanks a million MissingWillow - this was just too great!!!!

We do have a lot in common, including sending early.  :D  I'm so happy to have thisbird as my partner for this swap!  Package #1 was a lot of fun, it made me think a lot about what I enjoy and what I can do.  I already know what I'm doing for package #2 (I think).  No, I'm pretty sure.   :)
P.S.  Love my partner!

I received so long ago from Amnesia, but it took forever to get the pictures the right size, I love this package! It's been amazing! Everything was wrapped so sweetly, and came with a nice note about every little thing in the package!

Here's the first part of the package!

A gorgeous counting book of woodblock prints, some great stickers that I'm in love with, adorable stationary, deco tape with deer on it, some nummy tea, a book that I've yet to read, some cute hair clips and an amazing pin!

In the bottom corner, an awesome scarf that's perfect for the weather this spring, some strawberry fabric and a little bell, a stack of red fabrics (the mushrooms you see), yarn from a trip she took, amazing pink soba noodles and a pair of chopsticks to eat them with, a bunch of tapioca bubbles and a recipe to make it, and a hand quilted pillow that my kitties have claimed as their own.

A panda sponge, an adorable hedgehog finger puppet, a bunch of bento forks (which will end up in jewelry), and some nummy candies in a hand made bag!

Little charms she sent along, the two little animals are the sweetest tinkling bells!

Package 1 - RECEIVED

I received yesterday from whats_her_name.  What a great package!  She started her own business making papercrafts for brides/weddings and I am impressed and envious!

First, here is the whole shebang.  Look at how beautifully wrapped it is.  I should have done that and labelled, but so many of mine overlapped topics category, so I am afraid she got quite the mess in comparison to the box I send her  :-[

and unwrapped....

Here is the gorgeous front of the notecard she sent me.

Her bio on the inside and back - so beautifully done around the image.

Her favourite character(s) - she loved to many to pick just one.  These two are magnets, already on my fridge.

Something that keeps her organized -  a beautifully made little fabric pouch she sewed herself - love the little heart bead on the zipper!

A summer essential - a lovely beaded anklet.  When the rain lets up and I can wear sandals again, this will be on!  I love anklets too :D Something from a favourite store - Chapters gift card.  I love books too - but funnily enough, I never thought of it as a favourite store - to me it is like going to the grocery store - it is such an essential part of my life (there is one in my hospital lobby) :D  So I love both of these too.

A favourite scent - she loves berry scents and this berry scented cologne and lotion - yummy!  I am more a citrus or spice gal myself, but I don't think my arm needs to be twisted to try this out :D   Something always in her purse - Soft lips lipbalm in a berry scent/flavour.  It already is in mine too :D  I also sent lipbalm in my box.  Something to drink - hot apple cider.  She is not a tea or coffee gal, but she loves hot apple cider.  Have you ever tried cranberry cider???  I love spiced mulled ciders too, and if I can find the cranberry one, I may have to send you some (usually it is around in the winter though :/ )

Something edible - chocolate covered pretzels she made - she loves chocolate (me too!) and the combination of salty and sweet.  Look at the packaging!!!  I presume you made the label too.  So pretty.  I'm going to wait to share them with DH - he probably will like them too.
Something made from paper - personalized notecards she made for me!  I love the brown and blue floral pattern and it is just so beautiful!  No wonder you started a business, these are so beautiful!

Finally something local - She is from Regina and sent me a travel mug with the new campaign to promote her city.  I love it and can pretty much guarantee that no one else at work will have one, so it will be my work cup - thanks

I received yesterday from Onyxnox!  I think we have a lot in common too - we even received on the same day!  ;D  I didn't have the sense to put the items together that were from the same category - oops!  So everything is in no particular order...

First up a picture of all the loot.  So fun!

My favorite item - I put it on immediately as I read her letter and browsed the goodies.  A beautiful beaded flower.

Next up, a little Christmas knome to represent her love of knit/crochet.

For organization, a clinique makeup bag.

Always in her purse, are reusable shopping bags.  This little bear is home to a tote bag that unzips from his back.

Then for her favorite holiday, the reindeer gel window clings, and then from her favorite store the monkey key ring ID tags (from IQLiving):

Something edible (almond bark - mmmm) and something drinkable (Tazo Sweet Wild Orange tea).  Looking forward to trying them both:

Another something for organization, this cute little pad of lists (To Do, To Buy, To Remember):

Something made of paper.  Some handmade cards with favorite pictures on the outside and favorite recipes on the inside.  Really looking forward to trying these!!

Another favorite holiday (Christmas) and also something she collects (Kitchen Gadgets) as well as something always in her purse (tissues).  I must confess; I too love kitchen gadgets!

Another item for her love of knit/crochet is this cute lavender bookmark.  I think it's adorable and I'm definitely going to be using it!  Also, a coaster that her DH cut from clear cedar, and then Onyxnox wood-burned it with one a quote that is PERFECT.  "Time is a drug.  Too much of it kills you."  I love it.

And then finally, we have something local (free publication from her area), more organization (clips), favorite craft essentials (beading needles) and finally another something always in her purse (lip balm).

Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to getting to know you even more with parcel #2!

So glad you liked everything, Onyxnox!

I always wrap all my bridal stuff in tissue, so it's just become a habit.  And yes, I did make the packaging for the chocolate covered pretzels too.  ;D  Good eye!  I'm very glad you like the notecards too - I hope you've got some special people that you can use them for...  Personalized stationery is sometimes very hard to part with!!

I think it's funny that we both sent lip balm, we both sent something chocolately for the edible and a hot drink for the something drinkable!  I love citrus and spice scents too, but since it's spring/summer, I decided to go for the berry...  I haven't tried cranberry cider, but I do love saskatoon berry cider, so I'll bet I'd like cranberries too...

Package #1, I think is safe to say a smashing success.  I've already started crafting the first item for package #2, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you more as we progress!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Karrie - I loved it all.  You shame me by how neat and well organized you were, and mine was a mish mash!  I thought it was funny that you and I sent some of the same items to each other too.

I am doing well with package 2, and 3 (which oddly enough is more done than 2!), and have found some extras I hope you like.  It was one of those things of looking around randomly and then seeing something and having the lightbulb blink on in the head, and flashing brightly.  Hope you love them.

I am going out today to get some supplies for this and some other crafts I want to make, and hopefully can get some stuff done this weekend.

I am so glad you liked everything Sweety!  I totally forgot to include a bio about myself, so I will make sure to write something up in the next package.  We sent very similar things to each other which was really funny.

I received from Sweety as well and here are my goods:

The Lot of things I got

A kitchen essential- A washrag and ninja cookie cutters which I can't wait to use!

Favorite color is green - A cute green box with buttons and origami stars, this is going to brighten up my computer desk

Made out of paper - Note cards and a small jar of origami stars

Smells good - Two small bottle of body spray (these are going right in my purse)

Related to yarn - Summer slouchy hat (I immediately put this on and loved it)

Something to wear - A green scarf and super cute necklace (that I immediately put on when I saw it)

Favorite character - Hello Kitty pencils and tattoos

Summer essential - Water bottle carrier and lip gloss (which will also go right in my bag)

Edible - Twizzlers, I am totally bringing these to work to snack on

Sentimental value - Breast Cancer flip flops, her mom passes away from breast cancer, this was really touching.

Package 1

I received from lacey0828 a few days ago and definitely feel like I know her a little better now. Take a look!
Something you wear on your body: A wonderful football tank, funny because I love football as well. She loves the Eagles whereas I am a diehard Chargers fan :) And we both are displaced fans.

Something that reflects your personal style: Music drawing. My partner was in choir and really loves music.
Something with your fav animal on it: Her fav animal is a turtle. She even has two of her own.
Something with sentimental value: A security blanket. She sent me one with silk lining because hers as a kid had silk lining as well.

Something that is your favorite: Teddy bears, she sent me a lion stuffed animal which as you can see, my dog thought was for her. My partner loves teddy bears and still buys cute ones she sees.
Something you collect: Seashells! I also collect them. Her favorite memory involves shells and rock collecting with her grandma.

Something that is a kitchen staple: Wooden spoons and seasoning.
Something related to fav craft supply: Record Bowl! She likes repurposing things and finds a lot of her craft supplies in thrift stores.
Something in your purse/bag: First aid items. She went to school for physical therapy and would love to get back into it.
Something related to non-craft hobby: A puzzle. My guy and I also spend some time doing puzzles like my partner and her husband do.

Package One!

I received my package from FinRaziel on Saturday! I feel like we have a lot in common, and it was fun getting to know more about her. Here's what I got!

Here is a picture of everything neatly wrapped and numbered.

Something that helps you stay organized- This adorable pincushion. I love that the pins look like sprinkles!

Something with your favorite animal on it- Her favorite animal is a cat, so she got me this cute Hello Kitty beanie baby. I <3 Hello Kitty. :D
Something related to yarn or thread- Sari silk yarn! So pretty!
Something that reflects your personal style- She wears a lot of black, but still dresses femininely, so she got me these pretty barrettes.
The fluff in this picture is my cat May who insisted on being in this picture. We'll get back to her later.

Something edible- She lives in a Polish neighborhood, so she bought me these Polish chocolates that I've already started eating. My grandparents were from Poland, so this was actually pretty cool. :)

Something related to your non-craft hobbies- reading is her favorite non-craft related hobby, so these are bookmarks from her favorite local bookstores.
Something local- Chicago magnet. She picked one out that showed Lake Michigan because I used to live a hop, skip, and a jump away from the lake and miss is terribly.
Kitchen staple- Sandwich container! I actually really needed one of these, haha!

Something with your favorite color on it- gorgeous knit flower headband. The blue of the flower is her favorite color...which sadly didn't photograph true to color.

Something related to reading/literature- The golden snitch from Harry Potter stuffed with organic catnip! She has recently started reading the Harry Potter series (so no spoilers!) and also has cats. My cat May absolutely went nuts for this! I wasn't able to photograph the package right away, but May managed to fish it out of the box on her own. I didn't want it to be ruined before I got a picture, so I had to take it away from her and put it on top of the bookshelf. She managed to get to it way up there too! Anyway, she loves it so much, that I decided to make a little photomontage:

May is totally in Hufflepuff btw!

Thank you for the awesome package Courtney! <3

I received my package from A2JC4Life today and it was full of treasures :)

Everytning was wrapped so nicely!  I felt like a little kid on Christmas :)

Here you can see just half of the items - I really like the info on your hometown (The apple festival soundslike a great event, and the crochet flowers and apple are too cute) and the cinnamon sticks smell amazing!  I also got a beautifully decorated first aid kit, her favorite treats (which are some of mine as well), a stamp and Christmas loaf pan for her fave holidays

 And there was more!

The recipe binder is full of some terrific recipes I can't wait to try (tomato wheat bread), the CD has inspiratiional quotes and other "software" items she uses to keep organized.  A favorite book full of historical intrigue, a really great water bottle for putting those delicious water "flavor" packs to use (I seriously almost bought myself a water bottle yesterday, but something said no - you must have whispered in my ear)  A fancy pen, book cover, photo corners and a cute little sign for my craft room round out the awesome package.

Thank you so very, very much and I can't wait for you to get yours - we had some common ideas!

Package 1 from SilentMynerva

I'm excited to share my package from SilentMynerva.  It was very neatly wrapped and labeled with red and black tissue paper, but I was too excited to take a picture of it.  :)  I got my package after a bad day at work, so it was even more special.  I also did not take a full group picture, as I wanted to highlight the smaller groups.

Alright, on to the goodies!

Items 1, 2, 3, 4

1: Something to wear: A Texas shirt!  I will be taking this along to wear in St. Louis this weekend.  The fabric is very soft and I think it will be fun to wear.

2:  Something made of paper:  Origami stars.  I love these stars, but for the life of me, cannot get them to actually work.  They always end up as little crumpled bumps.  Now I have my very own to play with and none of the frustration.  :)

3: SilentMynerva's favorite flower:  a Stargazer lilly, made out of paper.  It's blue, which is my favorite color and it will hang out with my ivy on my kitchen shelf.  I'm impressed with her paper folding skills.  I only do small things.

4: For a kitchen staple, she sent a Texas mug.  I was excited to learn that she uses mugs as every day cups too, as my fiancee thinks I'm weird for not having glasses, just mugs.

Items 5 and 8:

Item 5:  Something related to Halloween, her favorite holiday:  The movie "28 Days Later".  I'm not normally a zombie movie person, but one of my friends who came over for our weekly movie night say that I have to watch it.  It's been added to the rotation.  :)

8:  The same friend loved the next item and only the fact that I'd started reading it already saved it from being immediately stolen away.  SilentMynerva always carries a book in her purse, so she sent me one called "The Devil's Diaries" written by Nicholas D. Satan, as transcribed by Professor M.J. Weeks.  It looks like it should be lots of fun to read and will be added to my stash to read on the road.  :)

Items 6 and 7:

Item 6:  Something edible:  Red Hots, and a rootbeer candy stick.  I think I will use the Red Hots to try out a cinnamon cookie recipe that I have saved.  The candy stick will be a fun treat.

Item 7: Organization!  Post it notes!  I use these all the time for quilting and making lists, so I am excited to get a supply boost.

Items 9-11

Item 9: An armwarmer in her style.  It's so soft.  There is only one because she only uses them one at a time, but she said she'd make me a second one if I could use them. :) The yarn is perfect and the colors are really nice too.

Item 10:  Other hobby:  Reading.  She send the most adorable monster bookmarks! :) I love them and am going to immediately put them to use.  It was good timing too, I've got a long car ride and never seem to have any bookmarks with me.

Item 11: Texas Playing cards for her favorite game, Speed.  I used to play cards on breaks at my job and am trying to start up a monthly game night at my house, so these will definitely be added in.

I really enjoyed getting to know SilentMynerva a bit more and am excited to start working on the second package.  :)

I received from Eveamlizya! She sent me a lovely package filled with lots of goodies. Pics below:

An altered movie reel tin (eeee! love this!), a toilet paper roll scrapbook album (OMG, this is awesome I can't believe those are tp rolls!), two bookmark notebooks, some fun beads and trinkets, and 2 "Magic - The Gathering" novels.

The craft Eveamlizya is most known for on the boards is her gorgeous ATCs so it's no surprise that my package came filled with ATC loveliness:

I love the character ones the best even though I'm not familiar with the anime series they are drawn from. But all of the ATCs are wonderful and inventive. Here's a close up of the Gothic Quotes ATC because it's hard to see in the pic above. The quotes inside made me laugh:

Thanks Eveamlizya for a wonderful first package! I really hope you loved your first package as much as I loved mine!

PACKAGE #1

I received from Faux_Valentine today, and I think we may be very nearly the same person :P

Everything was wrapped in some great scrapbook paper, but I was impatient and forgot to take a picture of it all wrapped up :) I will probably be using that paper in some decoupage project in the future though - cause it is all awesome.

This is what the paper all looks like! Isn't it just awesome!?

Ok on to the loot ;)
Here is the family picture:

Her fave craft supply is Insulbright (which I have never tried but REALLY want to!!) and this is her fave pattern of fabric - it comes in a lot of color varieties, she tells me. I LOVE this color combo (plus it is a nice soft flannel!)

and the cute skulls

Something related to reading: A Kathy Reichs Book!! This is funny for 2 reasons. 1. I love Kathy Reichs. 2. Forensic Anthropology is my field of choice. Plus I don't think I have this one. I mean I've read it, cause I read her books voraciously, but I reread them over and over and over!!
Something related to yarn or thread: Yarn!! In the prettiest color combo! I truly love love love this color. I just wish I had more faith in my crochet to make socks!! It may have to happen!! (Though I was also thinking this would make a BEAUTIFUL snood!!)

Something she collects - Rulers! How ingenious! This is going in my wallet! (If It just goes in my purse i will inevitably break it. I am a klutz, it will happen).
Something Local: Gates BBQ Sauce - What Miss Faux_Valentine doesn't know is that BBQ sauce is my absolute favorite condiment. It is true, and I am so excited for this. God I need a life hahaha! The fact that I have a fave condiment probably says something about me :P

Something related to her fave holiday: Halloween - SKULL ICE!!! Ok These are something I have wanted for quite awhile. I love bones. It is true. Skulls are awesome. Ice is awesome (I have ice in everything - lots of ice. My friends mock me for my ice!). Put them together and I am happy. And these little guys have some great detail too!!!

Something that helps her stay organised - a small project bag!! See this is something I didn't know I needed. I make snoods (crochet) and keep my WIPs in plastic sandwich bags. With a small pair of scissors. Generally a bad thing. This may be a perfect snood in progress bag!!
A kitchen staple- silver ware!! This is covered in polymer clay. And red/black is one of my signature color combos. I swear. Most of my wardrobe and housewares are red and black. I now need placemats to match. I am thinking skulls appliquéd on a red background....wheels are turning!!
Her fave animal: an anteater!! this is such a cute hoop!! Love it! (the close up shots of the anteater and the skull fabric for the bag were totally blurry - not cute, so sorry no closeups!)

So, in all, this was an EPIC package of EPIC proportions. Best part - she picked ME to be her partner. I feel super special :D

Now off to plot and plan for number 2!!

Here is a close up picture of my ant eater im very proud of it so i hope redstar13 doesnt mind me hijacking the post for a few moments:

So after almost killing myself with some dried red chillies while making dinner tonight i thought it'd be a good idea to post some pictures so here it goes. i recieved from redstar13 yesterday a truely awesome package  i cant believe how similar we are!

Heres the whole shebang!

so to begin with she sent something edible: Runts they arent her first favorite candy but they are delishious and i have finished off half of the box already
next some something with yrou favorite color in it: magenta and black are her favorite color combo and featehrs is her favorite trim so she made me a feather hair acessory I love it! i'll have issues wearing it because i will want to sit and pet it all day and people might think of this as weird but who cares!
and something that smells good: apple cinnamon incense with cinnamon incese thrown in. I love apple cinnamon in fact im burning it right now my room smells delishious!

here is the feathers in my hair I love them

Next is her favorite character or my like the iconic image of her favorite character head bands! i wont give away her dirty little secret  (as i have my own i wouldnt want broadcast) but i will say these are fabulous! there was one more that didnt get into this pictuer but i have it on in another one below.
the second peice of this picture is something local. not only is the ocean local for her ( i am so jealous) but the magazine is from her home town and has an awesome picture on the front!

the first picture is my favorite! it reminds me of this nurse from silent hill she's at the end of the movie and somewhere in the games but i havent played in a while and couldnt tell you which one I have almost a complete outfit to cosplay her now even have the right hair color! the second is a better shot of the flower head band.

Next is her favorite hair acessory which are hair flowers! this reminds me of my grandmother who wears flowers on her blouse it warmed my heart to see them.

PACKAGE #1

Here is my package from SevsOnlyGirl! I asked her to be my partner because we're both from Michigan and thought maybe someday we could meet! We live about 1-2 hours away from each other. Ok, first is everything all wrapped so lovely!

Ok, now i will try to list things in order of the pics....
A summer essential...sidewalk chalk
something edible....lemonheads and chocolate(for me to enjoy lol)
something you keep in your bag....crossword puzzle
something made out of paper/favorite character...Batman coloring book ;)
something that smells good...lemon scented candle
something of sentimental value...a pretty Christmas watch

something you wear on your body...Betty Boop socks
non-craft hobby...a book "The Iron Witch" (which I just finished and is a very good read!)
favorite fashion...movie star sunglasses and a sheer scarf

favorite color...purple fabric decoupaged plate
something that shows your personal style...charm necklace
freebie...purple nail polish and a piece of red and black plaid fabric
and a closer pic of the watch..
I did not get a pic of a small tape measure that was her craft essential! I think I had it in my hand while I was taking pics for some reason lol!

Thanks so much for being my partner this round! I have so many ideas on your next packages!!!

I received from Casey1201 yesterday!!! Such a great package.

Everything all wrapped and still in the box. I did get a bit too excited I opened one thing right away, so I threw that fabric over the box to show it :)

All the fabric that everything was wrapped in. My dog Scout was so interested in the box that she didn't even care I put a piece around her neck.

The tshirt scarf/necklace reflects her style. I totally love it, I didn't take a picture with me wearing it because I was wearing a black shirt and it wouldn't come out really well, so I made my husband hold it for the pic :)

Favorite non craft hobby: Gardening, lettuce, squash, sunflowers, and gloves which I totally needed a new pair. (I've never grown anything but I'm way excited about the lettuce)
Kitchen Essential: Baking cups
Favorite Scents: Coffee and baked goods. 2 candles, the coffee one is not scented but is awesome with the coffee beans in it and a candle of banana nut bread. I'm shocked neither one melted at all with the AZ heat!
Something she collects: coffee mugs!
And an extra of "Save the puppies" buttons, she's a big advocate against puppy mills and for adopting dogs from shelters.

Something local: Pueblo zoo magnet (I collect magnets and she didn't know that :))
Related to Favorite craft: 5 fat quarters, a pattern, and scissors. I've been intimidated to sew clothes, so this should be cool to try.
Summer essential: Fun nail polish
Something drinkable: Tea
Something edible: sushi earrings, ok, she doesn't eat the earrings, but you see where that was going :) She made them out of poly clay
Always in her purse: Chapstick. Definantly can use that in dryness out here. She also likes to keep a small notebook in her purse.

And a close up of the earrings

Thanks Casey!!! Can't wait to see package 2 :)

took me a while to post my pics- but here they are. Box 1 from Attienichole. She has mad crocheting skills! I am in awe of anyone who can crochet!
The package includes a great smelling candle with swirly trees painted on it, a houndstooth scarf (very pretty & soft), an experimental bracelet in pretty yarn, some cozies, hand dyed yarn (not the color she intended, but beautiful none the less), a head scarf- really pretty colors, tea, a brochure from a concur walk, her old high school ID, an organizer bin, recycled necklace and craft money bank- she dyed the box with a bingo dauber, this made me laugh- I've been going to play bingo a lot lately :)

I would like to know what recipes are in the MAF-themed recipe book!

So I received on Thursday and finally had a chance to post..  I received a totally awesome, super charming package from EdenKitty

I opened the box and saw this cute Hello Kitty bag (one of her fav characters) and a note on some cool papers...

Next, a container with fancy cotton candy from the company she runs (which is super tasty... :) ), some yummy tea and lots of colorful, numbered packages:

Here's the rest of the spread, or most of it at least-- postcards of her favorite flowers, a CD of her fav singer/songwriter, some super good smelling soap:

And here are some close ups -- first a cool glass pendant, a spool of vintage thread (which she collects) and some mother of pearl coins (remind her of summer:

Some awesome tie-dye duct tape (random favorite -- I've never seen it in tie dye before!), vintage buttons, ribbon tapes with cats on them (her favorite animal) and some awesome yarn that SHE SPUN HERSELF! (how awesome is that?)

Finally, a lovely glass ornament with a folded crane inside:

I loved the package- I could tell it had a lot of heart and thought behind it.  Thank you EdenKitty!

PACKAGE #1 From AHEARTOFGLASS

So yesterday I went to the post early on my way to work and found my package from aheartofglass waiting for me.  I couldn't open it at work but I did take a peek inside and all I thought was "wow this smells great"

12 hours later I finally unwrapped the contents and here is what I found:

A great assortment of things representing aheartofglass including:
~geodes (which I loved to break open as a kid too!)
~wild horses note card (her favorite animal)
~dice shaped lollipop and casino cards (edible and local to her region)
~a sandalwood candle (which is one of my favorite scents too! Although Yankee Candle where I work in the winter only produces it in limited edition now)
~A Moody Blues CD
~some more note cards with Lake Tahoe and some beautiful flower watercolors printed on them
~Guatemalan worry dolls which are super cute (I have always been fascinated by superstition, I'll have to try these out)
~Pier 1 Paper Soaps (to always keep in the purse, which is great because I hate those really harsh medicinal soaps at rest stops and we are always on the road)
~Awesome tea flowers that bloom as they steep so its a show in your drink how cool!
~a snoopy bookmark for her non craft hobby (and she didn't know this but as a kid I had a cat named snoopy!)
~A beautifully altered journal that shows a bit of her personal style and to keep me organized for crafting and life, which I am sure will come in handy
~A cat notepad
~A Nevada shaped soap which seems to be the culprit in the box smelling so good
and finally, A beautiful glass rocking horse ornament that she made! for the favorite holiday

Thanks so much aheartofglass!  I can't wait for you to receive mine.

Package 1
Okay, so I received from Ashley G. a while ago, but have been so busy with work, that I'm just now getting to post pictures. She sent such an awesome package!

1. Something she always keeps in her purse: Hand Sanitizer! I'm so glad she sent me some of this, I used to carry some with me all the time too, but ran out so long ago and never bought anymore.

2.Something of sentimental value: Rubber duckies that floated in the punch bowl of her wedding! Aww! How sweet is that??  They are too cute! :D

3. Something drinkable: Cream soda! My dad used to buy cream soda all the time when I was younger; it reminds me of being a kid!

4. Something related to you favorite craft supply: Polymer clay! I'm so glad she sent me some, I love working with clay too (although I'm not the greatest at it...) and have been wanting to get some more.

5.Something related to your favorite craft hobby: fun fur! She loves to crochet and so do I! It's also probably one of my favorite crafts too. :)

6.Something with her favorite character: A Sailor Moon Kokeshi doll! So cute! I love the look on her face! (oh and here's a close up, sorry for the blurriness) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=460059)

7. Something you wear on your body: Some AWESOME handmade ribbon necklaces!!! I LOVE THESE!!! I have been wanting some necklaces like this for a while now (been eyeing them at work...) but haven't bought any. I'm so glad she sent/made me so and saved me from spending the $12.97 I would have had to pay for each of them at the mall! :)

8.Something made out of or with paper: Mario magnets! They match my fridge PERFECTLY!! I really needed so more magnets (we had a total of 1 lone fridge magnet)!

9.Something related to her favorite games: An assortment of dice used for playing Dungeon and Dragons! Her husband and friends play together every Saturday (sounds like fun!).

10. Something related to her favorite fashion or hair accessory: An awesome headband! I LOVE HEADBANDS TOO! I actually have a whole box of like, 15 of them, so this is perfect for my collection! I have to wear lots of accessories to my job (a total of 6 a day) so headbands are a must and I don't have one like this yet! I LOVE IT!!! :)

Thanks so much for everything Ashley G.!!

Received from ollieorange last week and just had the time to post pictures.  Whew what a week!  First let me start out by saying that I loved everything I received.  She really nailed down my interests and sent things I would really use often!
Package One

Here is everything together.

I received:  a madison post card (cannot find, will post later), three kinds of tea and a wonderful teacup inspired by my wists, decorated clothespins, lavender hand sanitizer, a pouch sewn from leftover wedding fabric, water bottles (which she collects), water bottle cozy with her favorite musican's (The Jicks) album art on it, kitchen staple of curry powder with a recipe, a rapunzel scarf, crystalized ginger, leopard print nail file, fused glass tree pendant, fused flower magnet, and lots (and I mean lots) of coupons (!!!  :)   !!!)

Close up of the tea cup

Close up of the clothespins

Rapunzel Scarf and waterbottle and cozy

tree pendant

Thank you so much ollieorange!!!  Can't wait for package two!!!

Package Two

I received package number two a few days ago.  I am really happy with this package.  I received an embroidery kit (which I've wanted for several years now), AND a stenciling kit.  Altogether, I received, a tee-shirt, socks, embroidery supplies (lots of embroidery floss, fabric, a hoop, scissors, a small embroidered butterfly project to try out, recycled cardboard holders for the embroidery floss, embroidery needles...I hope I'm not leaving something out), and a stenciling kit (acrylic paint, medium to mix with the acrylic paint to make it permanent, freezer paper for stenciling, and a sponge brush), and check out the card she sent!  It's so cute and I'm very happy with all my lute!

package three
I received the final package a while ago and am now just getting around to posting pictures.  I received new additions to my wardrobe which really made my day.  Here is everything!  I received a black fight club tee, which is wonderful because the only one I had was white and I really needed a black one.  I not only like the design, but she chose an amazing shirt for the transfer to go on.  It has ribbing on the arms which conceals flabby arm, and the collar of the shirt is a looser fit, reminding me of french style tees.  She also made me a cotton skirt with a large/thick waistband, which helps it to stay in place and hides tummy bulge.  I really enjoy how flattering this skirt is.  The pictures don't do justice,  but it's a skirt that can go with pretty much anything and be classsy, cool, professional, etc, whatever I need it to be.  I also received a cool headband which is really fun.  It brings out my natural side :)

Thanks so much OllieOrange!  You totally rocked these packages and I'm so happy with them!

Package 1

I received Saturday from Southern Flower, and am just now getting to post pictures.

Something to do with thread: tatting thread and book with DVD (also some shuttles that show up in a later picture).  My partner and I both want to learn.  (This was definitely bigger than a small, though! lol)

Something always kept in her purse: a library card wallet (we're both avid readers), and paper soaps.  (With young children, these will definitely come in handy!)
Kitchen Staple (part 1): pinch bowls  (Can you believe these are made out of bamboo?  So cool!)

Something drinkable: tea
Something to wear: jewelry she made - it's beautiful!

Closer pic of the jewelry

Bonus favorite: t-shirt with sparkles and perfume

Something that reflects her personal style: Project Runway pattern represents fashion taste and love for fashion innovation
Something edible: chocolate!  (This is already gone. :D )
And the tatting shuttles

Something sentimental: The Red Tent (which she gave to her mother, who never read it - but her dad did. lol)
Bonus favorite: book of trivia (This looks like a lot of fun.  My poor hubby is constantly getting random "why" questions from me - I ask bizarre questions like a 2-year-old would ask! lol)

Kitchen Staple, part 2: tea mug.  This is absolutely gorgeous!  I think the symbol on it says "happiness," since the tag calls it a "happiness mug." And it has an insert for steeping the tea without getting leaves in your drink.
Something local: yummy-smelling soy candle  (This is great!  I have been cutting back on candle usage because I don't like having the paraffin fumes throughout the house.  But soy is perfect!)

Better photo of the candle and...
Something to do with paper/related to her favorite flower: Jasmine inchies!

Thank you for a fantastic package (and I am so glad it really did arrive safe)!

I am so glad you liked it!  I know the tatting book isn't quite a small - but it has the DVD in it - something I've never seen and I think the only way you can learn!  I have like 5 other tatting books and I'm still clueless :)  I am so glad you like the jewelry ( I too normally wear silver) but I've found antiques brass is a good alternative  - Looking forward to finishing up your next package, your letter firmed up my ideas.

So received a couple of days ago and just haven't gotten to post the pictures. This is from my 2nd Swap Partner

LINNYBELLE

Package 1:
how it looked when I opened the box.

here is after I opened all the individual packages. I didn't get a pic of the chocolates until later because Texas Heat means chocolate does not stay solid so those had to be put in the fridge for a couple of days.

Bubbles - Summer Essential
Nail File - Always found in Purse/Bag
Socks - Something she collects... I collect too... I love colorful socks :)
Two Christmas Ornaments - Favorite Holiday... I get to add this to my collection of ornaments that my family has collected over the years.
Native Tongue - Something involving other hobby, Reading. I love to read too, so I'm hoping to start on this soon!!
Kusudama paper flower - if I spelled that right, but something made out of paper. It kinda got squished but it's made out of magazines.
Flamingo Napkins - Something with favorite Animal, i have no idea what I'm gonna do with these but I don't want to use them as napkins.
Artic White Hot Chocolate - Favorite Drink. I don't care for coffee so these are definitely going to be used.

NOT PICTURED in the group shot

Choxie Chocolate - Something Edible... Dark Chocolate which melted on the way here and my nephew has already started munching on it.
Baking Chocolate - Kitchen Staple, which my sister is going to enjoy, I can't bake or cook but my sister does. Here are details.

Here are close up of everything else in thumbnail style!!! :)

I received the most excellent package from faeriegirl today! I don't care what she says because I absolutely love it. I'm going to post this quickly because I need a nap to fight this cold I have coming on. I am determined to not get fully sick!!

Everything was in this cute little box with her favorite animal, the cat, on it. To make it even cuter, the sheet music is Everybody Wants to be a Cat from Aristocats.

hedgehog pincushion (craft essential)
some candies (something edible)
measuring tape headband (hair accessory)
info on the tasmanian devil (something local)
pig (favorite game, pass the pig)
bubbles (always in bag)
post-its and magnetic to-do list (keep organized)

little bear hug card (from favorite store)
tasmanian devil (again local)
tea wallet (favorite flower, poppy)
apple cinnamon tea (something drinkable)
coffee and vanilla tealights (something that smells good)

The candles smell unbelievably good. I knew the exact smell and surprised myself by hoping it was actual coffee. Apparently I have become a coffee drinker. I'm also really looking forward to the tea. This package was awesome and I'm so excited with my new friend!  :D Thanks faeriegirl!!!!

I'm glad you got everything and the chocolate didn't leak on anything, SilentMynerva!  I was sad that I didn't think of it melting before I sent it.

Everyone's packages are fantastic!  I really like the cat music box.  A2JC4life, I have that fabric on the tea wallet in my stash!  It's always funny to see fabrics that I have in common with someone else.

Whew! Finally getting these posted!
First off, apologies to Rosyposie for the delay in posting these pics. The package came 2 days ago and I tore into it right off and let the coordinator know it was here but haven't had a minute to myself since! Then... (more drama!) I took pics of everything which promptly got lost! and THEN (still more drama!!!) my grandson decided that part of the package was really for him and I had to track him down to get it back for the new photos (more on this with the pics)
and so, without further delay! pics of my AWESOME package from Ms Posie! (They were wrapped so nicely in pages from an Antiques Trade Paper to reflect her summer job but alas, that pic was lost with round 1)

The works... so much goodness!!!  :D

Her lovely note with explanations tells me that we have so much in common! Even if I'm a bazillion years older than she is!!!
Cast Iron Pan - kitchen must! ( I agree BTW) and a recipe for a German Pancake (which in our house - as my husband is from a Dutch family - is called a Dutch Baby and we have it every year on New Years Lol) yummmmmmmmm!
An Easter basket filled with caramels (how did you know?!) and chocolate! Favorite Holiday for her as it is low stress and high *family*
An armory bookmark which has a teal tassel (favorite color and hobby other than crafting) Very cool too and already tucked into my new mystery novel!
A Yankee Candle smell-goodie for a car or room in grapefruit scent (it's going into my job truck to *brighten* that environment!!! lol)

Now the part that my grandson loved best....

He let me keep the hankie (a purse essential for RosyPosie - who is very environmentally conscious and always carries a hankie instead of wasting resources on tissues. You have convinced me my friend, I will carry my hankie proudly!) The dinosaur is a favorite animal and the embroidery of my dino-hankie is too cute! The actually dino is now back in my grandson's pocket...
Favorite game - scrabble. I love it too and can't wait to try this Scrabble Flash!

Still laughing over this one.....

Sentimental/yarn related - the first socks she ever made! Very special! but what has me chuckling is.... count them.....  :D
Agatha Christie novel - she's a reader!!! me too! and I love mystery novels too! ( I will add one of my favs to pkg 2 for an extra!!!)
A package of leaves in Autumn colors for Sender's Choice - favorite season! Since she's in New England this is completely understandable!!! I love Autumn in New England too!
and finally!

She collects *unusual old camera's*!  I actually had one like this that I used to take pictures with when I was young!!! lol!  :D

Thank you so much for a great package RosyPosie!!!

Thank you so much for a great package RosyPosie!!!

I am so glad you liked everything aheartofglass. I was actually going to send you a picture of the pancake so that you would know what it is supposed to look like but you already do!  Yeah...the socks were a pretty trying experience, you will notice that not only are there three of them they are also all different sizes...perhaps you grandson would like to wear the smaller ones.  Thank goodness my sock skills have improved since then, although with such problems with these first ones I am always hesitant to make the second sock.

I am so glad your grandson found a treat too!  I found that dino last minute and decided it would be a great addition to the package.

Here's a quick couple of group shots of what SilentMynerva sent - I plan on doing some more detailed shots when I feel better and have some time :)

In this shot is:
A shirt from the Uni she attends, a Texas shaped cookie cutter (cute much?), a Peg game, a sour apple lolly and Charleston chew (there was some sour lollies but they've mysteriously disappeared!), a lovely American eagle book mark, How to make Fiends and Impress People humour book, an origami Lily made with music paper, a Don't Mess with Texas keyring and a clip  board.

I'll take a photo of the other things she sent me (including some awesome paper origami stars) and write a fuller description, I just wanted to get a picture up so I could show off my loot.

Package #1

I got my package from Missie about a week ago. I just moved into a new apartment out of state so it's taken me forever to catch an OK internet signal. That being said, a lot of her stuff has coincided nicely with moving in.

IMAG0126 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/nessamctastic/5805080735/) by NessaMcTastic (http://www.flickr.com/people/nessamctastic/), on Flickr

1. Box of frozen ice pops (not pictured) we ate these our first day. :)
2. Box of Kleenex with a hula girl on them, also not pictured. Very cute and used our first day since my husband and I are dying of allergies here in TN.
3. Magnetic dry erase board. Husband confiscated that and is using it at work so it's also not pictured, sorry!
4. Kerroppi pencils and notebook. She loves frogs and I love anything Hello Kitty so it's a win-win.
5. Some cat treats and catnip mice for my cat Little Jerry Seinfeld. I think this is a present to Jerry from her dog, though. ;)
6. Hibiscus embroidered hand towels which are up in both of our bathrooms. The master bath has a sea/underwater theme so it goes really well!
7. Vaseline lip balm
8. A mini tin of altoids (I'll probably craft something with the tin when I'm done with the mints!)
9. Scentsy car freshener in her favorite smell. I like it too!
10. A cute pair of socks
11. Zebra print pencil case.
12. A box of fruit teas, also one of my favorites. As I was unwrapping each gift my husband was commenting how similar Missie and I are.
13. Hand sanitizer.

Thanks for spoiling me Missie! I'm working on package number two and I hope you like it. It's going to be mostly handmade, unlike box 1 which was 100% purchased.

I received about a week and a half ago -b ut have been soooo busy I havent had time to do the photos etc!!!! So sorry Whitesheep!!!! And it was an amazing package that really should have been shared earlier!

It all came wrapped in pretty wrapping paper - which made it feel like christmas - and I dont think you could know how happy I was with the note paper the letter was written on - it was Diddle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've loved Diddle for about 15 years -ever since a school trip to Germany where I saw him - longggggggggg before he was available over here!!!!!! Now he is available over here I keep meaning to start collecting him -b ut haven't got round to it yet! (Also -as a pet rat keeper it's right up my street - although I wanst a keeper when I first fell in love with him!)

Anyway without further ado - onto the pics!!!!!

All the packages were labelled - and explained in the letter in the order I open it - so will put the pics up in the order  I opened them.

1) Something which relates to yarn or thread: I looooove this!!!! My first ever hand dyed roving - as I'm just learning to spin - and masses of beautiful purpley yarn to knit with! :D

2) Something local - an Isle of Man badge (I'm soooooooooooo jealous of her living there btw have always wanted to visit!) and a pen (Which isn't in the pic as I've already put it in my bag for using!

(Sorry for blurriness!)

3) Something you always keep in your purse - Tea!!!! Am not a big tea drinker - but I do enjoy trying different flavours - and have been looking at these 'Tea Pigs' for ages! And this flavour does look rather yummy - will be trying some after i've done this I think!

4) Something relating to your favourite craft! A gorgeous piece of fabric - and an interesting looking magazine I shall have a read of while I drink my tea shortly!

5) Something edible! Reversey percey's - which I'd never had before but which are GORGEOUS - there's not much left in the bag as you can see! and a bar of Isle of Man chocolate shaped like the island:

I must say this girl knows how to make a friend - buy me chocolate and I'll love you forever! :D

6) Something relating to your favourite non-crafting hobby:

Isle of Man TT book! I've enjoyed the TT for years (though missed it the last few!) so really looking forward to reading this!

7) Something which helps keep you organised! Well - 2 somethings! An awesome pincushion - really want to know how you made this! And a fab fabric basket which will be great for keeping scraps of fabric and off cuts of wool in while I'm crafting -a s at the moment they get spread around the livingroom floor and drive my fiance mad!

and the inside of the bowl and other side of pin cushion - (have needed a pin cushion for sooooooo long - but dont like the boring shop bought ones!)

8) Something you consider a summer essentail! Seeds :) I'm not a gardner - but am really interested in growing these - going to get some pots shortly - and plant them! Love the idea of growing my own veg!

9) Something else which is your favourite. This AMAZING art yarn!!!! So excited by this - it's just my cup of tea!!!!! Whitesheep says it reminds her of wet winter nights which she loves - and I can see where she's coming from - but it reminds me of a stormy sea - which I love - am obsessed by the ocean! So - I'm sooooooooooooo chuffed with this! Whitesheep says she cant wait to see what I knit from it - and I've been humming and harring -b ut think I'm going to settle on a scarf - to keep me warm when I walk my dog by the sea during the colder months (11/12th of the year here in the UK!) Look - isn't it stunning?!

10) lastly - something which is a kitchen essential - a cup cake holder! Never seen these before -b ut it's soooo cool!! Need to bake some cupcakes now to go in it!

Thanks again Whitesheep - I love love love it all!!!!

a bonus! a copy of her wedding invitation and a photo! *squeal* so lovely! I didn't show the photo in-case she would prefer not, but the card is lovely!

From the letter I deduce that the postal staff is enjoying:

Something of her personal style - felt bead bracelet
Something sentimental - a little beaver

Although I'm sorry that these items didn't arrive, I am thrilled with what I did receive! So WAY over the top!

Well... after the long wait for my lovely Australian Partners Package 1... Here is how the box looked when I got it...

So I'm just gonna list everything and then put pics up... Mainly because I had to take multiple pics of what I got because it wouldn't all fit in one picture...

Something w/favorite animal: kangaroo fabric in bright colors and a koala for my car!!
Something that you think smells good: Lavender body wash/scrub and lotion!!! I love lavender too!!! And Strawberry Incense... sadly I can't use it but my family loves it (I have asthma)
Something that you wear on your body: lipgloss pack and I think there was supposed to be nail polish but I didn't see any...
Something that reflects your personal style: a mini canvas with random things (which will look cool pinned to my wall of randomness!) Also a list of quotes she likes.
Something related to Yarn or Thread: Cotton yarn in a pretty blue and a Crochet HOOK....  it's a 6mm so I gotta figure out what letter that represents here :)
Something local to your city, state or country: Random things from her cities visitor's center!!! I can't wait to fully go through it and put them up on my walls!! Also two postcards... there is one of a church that she can see from her house...
Something you always keep in purse/bag: enviro-bag... or a re-usable bag that is awesome!!! And it can be zipped up so compact... the reason I don't use them is because it's hard to keep in the purse, but this is definitely staying attached so I can use it.
Hair Accessory: blue clips that mod35tbabe personalized and a lacy/gauzy flowery hair comb... which is currently in my hair.
Favorite Design: Leopard Print Tissues!!!!
Something drinkable: Peppermint Tea and Camomile & Spearmint Tea... can't wait to try it.
Something related to non-craft hobbies: two bookmarks... On with a quote on it about reading and one that has a short history about her last name!!
Consider Summer essential: Seeing as how it is winter over there! She got me a flip flop keychain that will go on my car keys!
Kitchen Staple: An Awesome Sydney Australia tea towel!!!
and last but not least....
Essential to your favorite craft: A MINI CARD SET!!! it's got cards/envelopes, small markers, some stamps and some ink for the stamps and sea shell notepad...
There are also some Sydney Australia Coasters that probably fall with the tea towel and a notecard that is yellow and has flipflops on it and blue flower... I think that falls in with the summer essential.... :) Enjoy the pictures!!!

Glad you liked it, sucks about the incense though. Can't believe it ended up having to be resealed - I spent *ages* taping that thing up! Shoddy tape I guess.
As for the nail polish, there isn't any - I thought it was nail polish when I wrote the thing then when I looked at the box again I realised it was (if my memory serves me) a mini bottle of perfume. Forgot to change that in the letter though lol.
I thought the card making set was an excellent idea - was uber pleased I found it lol.

I don't understandt why they took out all the things. I've already sent sweets and soap and even a felt bead bracelet once  to the US and never had troubles before.
aheartofglass, I'm so sorry that you didn't get everything.

I dont' know if they damaged the bag and then decided to take the stuff or if it just fell out when the bag was damaged and they didn't bother to collect everyting and repackage.  Overall it could have been worse!

It was such a lovely package that I am happy with what I received just constantly amazed by the US Postal service's lack of *service*

I got the most fabulous packages from the talented MissingWillow!  The first is my DIY - since we are both sinfully jealous of Craftster's amazing paper crafters she sent me a box FULL of everything I could possibly need to make zillions of nifty creations - check this out!!  Two old books,(and I am a sucker for old books) one is fairy tales and the other a catalog from 1901!!  Hilarious in that you could buy everything from saddles to underwear to living room furniture out of that thing!

The rest of the box is filled with all sorts of papers and ephemera - a goldmine!!  I'm so excited to dive in!

And you might have noticed those shiny blank Altoid - like tins with all the cool doo dads inside.  Here's another way too cute item - holy crap - look how tiny these are!!

On to box two - which smelled fabulous before I even opened it!!  A box full of MissingWillows wonderful handmade soaps!!  Are these cute or what?? The bright pink one is a felted soap and the duck one glows in the dark - tee hee!

Then we have a sweet little locket ...with a solid scent inside - yum!  It came in this pretty little tin -way to go with the paper crafting Connie!  ;)
And speaking of yum...honey from her bees!!  I've already had some!  :) (But didn't take a picture!!)

And last but not least...two things from my wist - these adorable little felted owls (in their very own nest) and teeny tiny animal cracker earrings - cuteness overload!  :D

OH!!  And wait - I got two bags of delicious wooly fleece from her very own sheep - can't wait to incorporate it into a project!

So there you have it - pretty awesome don't you think?  Thanks a million MissingWillow!

Package #2 Received from thisbirdsabsurd

You're welcome a million, thisbirdsabsurd!  Speaking of... I received my second package from her as well, and holy crap!  I am seriously in love with her art dolls and, as sheepishly as a shepherdess could, asked if she'd mind sending me a something for me to follow so I can make my own.  I not only got a pattern but an entire DIY kit!  It included her hand drawn pattern on heavy paper, cute fabric, an embroidery hoop (Would you believe my first? I will NOT be afraid!), embroidery thread and needles, and coordinating ribbon.  I can't wait to get started, I think everyone in my family is getting an art doll for Christmas this year.  LOL!

Some charms to embellish her, I love these!

This cutie is going to be my salt cellar.  I immediately dumped the contents of my old cracked salt cellar into this little piggy.  Isn't he awesome?

I should have used something for scale, but this hand painted box couldn't hold more than a cup of beans, if that.  It's painted with a tiny primitive scene that represents our homestead.  A weeping willow tree, farmhouse, sheep and working border collie.  I'm in awe of her painting skills.  So tiny and beautiful!

But wait, there's more!  Check out the adorable felted lamb inside.  It's got a little heart hanging from it's collar!  Such great needlefelting skills!  I told thisbirdsabsurd from the start that I want to be her when I grow up and this is a perfect example.

Here's another. O.M.G.  Can you believe someone would make this and put it in a box?  I know I'd have a hard time doing it!  The best part is the fabric selections.  All animals and bees and a sample of the butterfly fabric I sent her in box #1.  Love love LOVE it!

Here's the back, more awesomeness.

And inside are some recipe cards tucked in.  Maybe I'll make this a recipe book!  Whatever I decide to do with it, it will be treasured always.  Thank you so much, Jen.  You really are a talented, wonderful person!   :-*

PACKAGE #2

I rec'd a WONDERFUL package 2 from the lovely Faux Valentine!!
She sent such a rad collection, but some of my photos kinda suck grrrr.

Here is the whole lot of awesome:

Now let me give you the rundown of awesomeness....
I got a beautiful hoop (more about her later), some cookie cutters and an ice mold RIGHT OFF MY WIST/Pintrest!! (more about them later too!) A tabbed cookbook with some recipes in it and more space so I can add to it! Best part - has an index. I couldn't get an interesting picture of it to do it justice, but it must have taken forever to hand number all the pages and make the index and write all the awesome recipes in!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE cooking and this was the perfect DIY kit for me!! I also got some cupcake mints which I will inevitably be sharing with my nephew. He LOVEs mints. Every time he sees me with my purse he asks "Aisa - nint??" I am really bad at saying no :D We always have fresh breath when we hang out! (he's only two ;)). The little yellow ball is a bumble bee reusable shopping bag. It is so perfect! I can actually fit it in my handbag and remember to take it to the store with me! I love reusable bags, but I always for get to grab them! Also included is some quilt batting. I have so many smaller projects that I want to make quilt-wise and never have the batting for it, so this is SUPER handy!!

A BEAUTIFUL sugar skull embroidery. I am JUST teaching myself embroidery. This blows me away. And she is so perfect!!

The AWESOME ninja cookie cutters. I think I wisted it off this swap. How awesome is Sam! Now for an excuse to make ninjas.....

And floating brains. I think every drink needs brains :D And I love Ice. Perfect harmony ;) Though using it as a soap mold is really tempting!!

Best part of the ice - I now have skulls and brain ice. Now all I need are either femur Ice or anatomical heart ice and my life is complete and my friends are thoroughly grossed out :D

Sam- thank you so much! I love it all! you are the best swap partner ever!!

So, I wanted to post this here since it is the result of a kit I received.  Unfortunately, the owl I made from the kit was taken by my cousin, so that she wouldn't take this one, but this one was made since I apparently now love polymer clay.  LOL.

It's HEDWIG!  ^_^

Package 2

I received over the weekend.  Love this package!  There's lots of kitchen stuff here.  I told my partner I'm a craft "dabbler," so when she added to my stash, she went with a kitchen theme. :)

This first item is probably the "least crafty" of the bunch, but it made my day!  Chocolate chip cookies!  I was diagnosed as gluten-intolerant about six months ago, and have been missing most baked goods.  Chocolate chip cookies are my favorites, and my partner sent me a package of GF ones.  ;D

Some of the coolest bag clips ever.  (Where did you get the long skinny ones?  I need to get some more of those, I think! lol)  They are sooo easy to use.

Star-shaped ice tray (perfect for Independence Day!) and long, skinny ice tray for making bottle-friendly ice "cubes":

Reusable cup:

Awesome natural cleanser:

Gorgeous cup-band and coaster set.  (I oohed and ahhed over these.  They are so perfectly made/stitched!)

Bias tape maker (from my wist):

And cute hair clips (also from my wist):

Thank you!!!  Everything here was a perfect fit. :)

I have to give serious props to my hubby on the teapot.  It was hurting my brain trying to figure out what size circle to cut to make the cone the right size for the lid.  He whipped up the math in about 2 minutes so I could finish the project.

I love when it is a collaborative effort - seems so much more satisfying somehow.
You have got to put it up as a separate posting somewhere, because it totally rocks my socks.  Also, if you are generous enough to share how you made it, I would be forever grateful - I love tea, and any crafts that involve tea, I adore :D

as for husbands - they are also good at removing oooooogy things that have either crawled into some spot and died, or the oooooogy things that clog up sinks, toilets, etc.

I received an awesome (huuuuge) second package last week from EdenKitty and just couldn't get these up until now... I tried to capture everything in one big picture with some closeups -- there is a huge stash of fabrics for quilting and crafting (awesome patterns and textures), there were 4 containers of cotton candy from her company (so delicious that one didn't even make it to this picture), a Hello Kitty stamp, an awesome fleece PB&J toast pillow (I have a ton of wishlisted toast items), a yarn dyeing kit with kool-aid in rainbow colors and two things of yarn, a bottle with "Wishes" engraved on it, a really pretty pink brocade journal, yummy honey sticks (that go with the yummy tea from pacakge #1 so well.. :) )

I was so spoiled -- thanks so much EdenKitty for the awesome goodies!

Ok I couldn't find my camera after the move so I am going to post package 1 with package 2. Najaorama put each item in a separate numbered envelope but because my stupid postman left my package at the wrong door, under a gutter over night after a storm, they were soaking. Fortunately the goodies all survived mostly unscathed, it has been really hard to not use them until I had pics posted!

She sent me butterfly bobby pins for something w/ fave animal (in lieu of dragonflies), passion tea because it has fave color on it (which I have always used to make iced tea btw), chinese jasmine soap for something with fave smell (could not love more), paper origami cranes for something made with paper, but I have no idea where they flew off to, a vintage wooden spool (related to thread), something sentimental- wedding favor prayer flags (brilliant idea!!), vintage postcards (she collects), spiced hot cocoa for something drinkable- something I've always wanted to try too, bookmark for something related to reading, and a collapsible funnel for kitchen.. we needed this, we use old breastpump cones lol.
She also included a little raw silk, and iron on typewriter and bubbles! She and I have such similar taste, I love picking your own partner!
Next is package 2 which I really really love.

First, she gave me 5 rolls of cotton yarn (which is my favorite to crochet with btw) in jewel tones. I love it! I have some of the colors already.
Then the smalls: I wear headbands every single day because I can't stand hair in my face and I love color. So she sent me all these perfect fitting reversible headbands!! I always meant to make some for myself but hate working with elastic in casings, she just put a thick length of elastic though, it's genius!
The medium item is a crochet hook clutch made with some nifty vintage newspaper she appears to have turned into fabric.I love it! I've really needed one.

I love that the front says "Wanted, steady woman".
Thanks so much naja, I think I will be begging you for personal swaps for years to come.

PACKAGE #2
Sorry, very picture heavy.

I received from Casey1201 the other day!!!! She sent such great stuff :)
Bacon strips for the dogs, a car magnet that says "My best friend chases squirrels", however I'm tempted to cross out squirrels and replacing it with lizards :), a nice piece of fabric, cocktail kit which includes fun umbrellas what a great excuse to actually throw the party that I've been wanting to, a nice bracelet, and a fabulous tree of life pendant.

Also, a dish towel and fabric button letter

Yep, not it yet, a great apron. I would've never thought to put those fabrics together, but they look so great altogether

And...a mini art quilt. I'm originally from Chicago so I definantly cheer on the Bears and my husband is from Philly so he likes the Eagles and totally turned me into an Eagles fan. So most items we have are Eagles, it is awesome to finally have some orange and blue hanging up.
And here it is hanging next to Eagles.

This is what I sent her
A California pillow with the heart in San Diego inspired from her wists.

Along with a ruffle skirt with a matching ruffled purse with a fabric flower clip. (unfortunantly this is the best picture I have)

So I am pretty much brain dead from being out in the sun too long.  I took pictures and uploaded them but didn't take a picture of one of the items and thought that I already posted pictures.  ANYWAYS here are most of the goods that Sweety sent me, I am missing the yellow summer shawl that she made me but I WILL take a picture tonight and post shortly.  Without further ado:

I got Five Balls of Cotton Yarn

Along with Scrapbooking supplies

Yellow Summer Shawl

Extras

I loved everything that was sent and will definitely use it all!  Sorry for posting pictures so late.

Finally, a purse organizer (love this fabric, too!), embroidery floss organizer, origami paper.

I finally found time to post pictures of the wonderful package I received from faeriegirl! It's some seriously great stuff!!

Family portraits drawn by her kids ages 4 and 7. Super cute and gave me some ideas for package 3.

A picture book called Possum Magic which is super cute and I can't wait to share with my preschool class. A hedgehog needle book which goes with the hedgehog pincushion I received in package 1. And Tim Tam, which I have never had before and have to say is awesome! I wish they sold Tim Tam here and would not frown if more found their way into package 3.

A hand-dyed notebook holder.

Inside the notebook with its sketch pad and colored pencils.  :)

Knitting needles made in Tasmania, acrylic yarn, knitting for dummies, and a cute polka dot, drawstring bag to put it all in. I have always wanted to learn how to knit and now I have no excuse not to. I'm excited to learn a new craft even though I foresee a lot of failure at it.

Package 2 from aheartofglass

I feel like such a truant person, receiving this lovely package and then not posting pics for days.  So here we go:

First items to add to stash!  A bunch of fat quarters in greens and pink prints.  Can't wait to wash em up and start using them!

A super thorough wire wrap jewelry making kit including lots of pliers ;D wire, a disc with tutorials, some pendants to practice on and this thing!:

I have no idea what it is, but I am sure it is useful, maybe I will understand after I start learning...

Also, for extras:

the most adorable little monster paperclips/bookmarks!  Which is great because I bookmark a lot and hate using things like receipts and trash to mark my place.
Also, a pincushion that is not a tomato! and is also super large so I will be able to fit many a pin in an organized fashion.  A book, a favorite series of my partners, can't wait to read it!  And while the card is hard to see under the sharpie it is a "winter rose" which I thought was lovely since I am Rose and regular roses seem a bit obvious.

Anyways,  thank you so much aheartofglass I can't wait to use some of these materials!

Nice packages.

I am taking a bit of a break from package 3, but things are going along.

Rosyposie - could that be a bit that attaches to a drill so you can add a couple of pieces of wire and twist them together??  I can't quite tell from the pic.

Package 2

I received my package from Rosyposie while I was away and - after kissing the husband and dog hello - I tore into it when I got home from the airport!
And I was Amazed! Excited! and Delighted!!!!!

Utilizing her "best craft" she created a Hankie Skirt for me from this amazing fabric!!!!  (I don't have a full length mirror and no one was around to photograph me in it when I tried it on but it fits beautifully!

Then she made me "something from my Wist" a set of pillow cases with little stick people on it! (i love these)

She included some extras (because she always spoils me!!!)
A super cute horsie mug rug (now gracing my desk at my office)

Some Nantucket Notecards - These will get a lot of use! a beautiful killer whale sketch notecard with a personal message and some Blue Gummy dolphins (gone in a flash so they didn't make the picture lol) that reminded her of the blue in the notecard of Lake Tahoe I had sent to her

Thanks again Rosy! I love love love everything especially that skirt!!!

You're welcome!  I had a great time making everything.  I would love to see an action pic of the skirt...I am too short so it looked rather absurd on me.

And I am really excited to use my mystery tool tomorrow during my crafty time, especially now that it is not such a mystery.

Okay so I received from Ashley G. ages ago, but my life has been so hectic. I've been super busy with work, my car broke down, and the worst being my aunt lost her battle with cancer last week and passed away. :(  :'(  :'(
She sent a really cute bracelet (that I turned into an anklet), a elephant necklace inspired by one on my wist, and the most AMAZING elephant amigurumi I have ever seen. He's so cute. :)

Thanks so much Ashley G.! Feel free to post better pics if you have them!

Package 2 from SilentMynerva

Here are my belated pictures of my Firefly themed second package.  I got so excited when I opened it, I think I called almost everyone to brag about it.  :)

First off, a shot of everything:

Then my Jayne Flamingo!   ;D  And a Jayne hat!

My fiancee just said "Oh dear" when he saw the flamingo.  The fact that I almost took it shopping with me might have been the reason why.  I don't have either item and I collect flamingos, so it was perfect.

Then the stencil kit:

I've always been a little chicken when it comes to stenciling, but SilentMynerva provided everything for me.  And it's funny, I was just thinking I needed an exacto knife too and one came in the mail.  The kit included three already cut freezer paper stencils, a bag to put everything in and to practice with, freezer paper, knife, sponge brushes and blue paint.  She also made a lovely book explaining the whole process.  I don't have a picture of the blue paint or the second sponge brush as I was playing with them over the weekend...

And it turned into this:

Also pictured is the second wrist warmer to match the one from the first package.  Now my hands will stay warm this winter while I'm doing homework.  And this is my first stenciling project to actually go right.  I'm seeing a lot of stenciling in my future.

It was a wonderful package and I'm excited to use my new bag!  Thanks, SilentMynerva!

First, I have to apologize for posting so late.  I was in the middle of prepping 4 weddings (I do stationery) all on the same weekend, THEN we ended up going out of town for a week.  But I'm back at 'er now and can finally say a big THANK YOU to my pal, Onyxnox for the terrific parcel #2!

First, she sent me some sewing goodies.  Shown is a sewing machine skirt.  Put it under your machine and it hangs in the front with a pincushion and some pockets for your common tools (and thread snippets, too, I'm sure!)  And a matching portable ironing mat.  Love the fabric!

She also sent me this craft apron.  So many handy pockets!  I forgot to take a picture of the goodies inside the apron.  She gave me some thread snips and a retractable measuring tape.  So handy!

Next, she gave me a scrabble tile pendant kit, complete with instructions and notes from her experience.  Really looking forward to playing with this.

She knows that Calla Lilies are my favorite flower, so she made me this beautiful hoop.  Love it.

And some hairclips with these adorable beaded flowers.  My daughter has already laid claim to these.  lol...

Finally, the extras.  A cool ghost story book, a chocolate bar that I'm a little afraid to try (hot chile chocolate - yikes!!), some ginger chews, a silk (?) scarf, and 2 spools of ribbon.

I feel truly spoiled.  ;D  Thanks very much!  I hope you like your parcel as much as I've enjoyed mine!!

Title: Re: Make-a-Friend Round 7 -- Summer 2011 Gallery!

You have to try the chili chocolate - it is not "hot", it has a great chocolate taste and there is subtle chili heat that sneaks up on you and just gives you a pleasant warmth.  LOVE it!   I know the calla lily hoop is completely amateur but I felt the compulsion to do it, especially as I have not done a lick of embroidary/needlework in years and have been wanting to get back into it.

She sent a bunch of "ugly" dresses because repurposing is a hobby of mine. THis is ging to inspire me to get back at it. A great watercolor painting of a dragonfly, cuz they are my favorite. A bracelet and crocheted necklace in purple (my favorite color). and a amigourami seal cuz I love ocean life. Great package. Thank yuo and sorry it took me so long to post pics.

I'm glad you liked the Crochet magazine.  I tried to pick the most interesting looking one.  Also, the other magazine has a little of everything in it, but there was a book binding article in it, so that's mostly why I sent it.  Funny thing, I almost made you that skull bag too.   :)

It's lots of fun to see everyone's packages.  The dresses in one of the packages were a fun idea.  I really like the flower necklaces too.  They look like a lot of fun to wear.

Glad you liked it - as for the arm warmers, they didn't come out the size I wanted so I cut it and put in grommets so you can tie it up to the size that suits you. I tried them on to make sure it worked and thought having the bow/excess ribbon at the elbow end worked better. Probably helps to have someone else tie it too lol.

Here is my
package number 2 from whats_her_name.

It was delivered a few days ago, but I had no idea because it was dropped in one of the bedrooms that we are no longer using because of renovations - thank goodness one of my friends mentioned it to me afterwards that a package was delivered or goodness knows how long it would have been neglected!

I love it all!!!!

First off, she sent me a great papercrafting package, including decorative frames.  It gives me an idea of what to do with the new blank wall we will have going up the staircase to our new second floor.  There is lots of papery goodness, glue, brads and other interesting little findings.

There is a coconut and almond chocolate bar too - teehee - too bad, DH loves chocolate and almonds, but he HATES coconut - so I DO NOT HAVE TO SHARE for once!!!!!

There is this fabric covered notebook that matches the little case she made me in round one - love this.  I can never have to many notebooks and journals because I am always making lists and jotting things down.

She also sent me some wisty stuff - a kit to knit a woolen sheep hot water cover - I LOVE this!!!!  I would have loved the sheep, but to have the kit to make my own makes me even more super happy!  Thank you so much Kerrie - this is so thoughtful, because now I can make some for my (always ever cold) sister's in law and neices!

See that on the left?  That is also a great felted hat she knit me.  I used to hate hats and wearing a hat in the winter, but I have come to realise as I get older that my head gets cold and have learned a new appreciation for hats.  The problem is that I am certain my head is oddly shaped because hats seem to always slide off.  Not this one - it is actually a perfect fit!  I love the colour too and that I can embellish it however I want.  Next time I am at my favourite bead store, I am picking up some hat pins and ribbons just so I can make some accessories for the hat!

Thank you so much Kerrie, this is a fantastic package and I love it all!

Off to do some more on #3 - especially as i realise now  I am running late on it!

I received package #3 from Eveamlizya yesterday! Eeeeee! Such cuteness it burns!

Let me preface this by saying Eveamlizya has not worked with Polymer Clay for long. I only JUST sent her a how-to kit with her second package. Right now I am in awe of her art skills because she made the adorable figure below from polymer clay. Can you believe it???? Look at the detail! He's so stinking cute and perfect. She recreated a figure from my wist and did an awesome job at it. I love, love, love this little guy!

In addition to the amazing figure I also received six ATCs and three bookmarks. So cool. The fish ATC is my favorite. I can't wait to find a nice frame for the four flower ATCs - I think they're going to look awesome hanging on my wall.

Thanks for a great swap experience and wonderful presents Carlee! I love everything.

I'm glad you liked everything.  Thanks again for sending the polymer kit because I loved creating that little guy even though it took me a long time lol.  I'm glad he found a good home.  :D
The koi ATC is my favorite too...it's my favorite coloring, Asagi, meaning dark blue.  Asagi is also the name of my favorite japanese singer from the band D.

Here is my
package number 2 from whats_her_name.

I love it all!!!!

Thank you so much Kerrie, this is a fantastic package and I love it all!

So glad you like everything; and that the hat fits perfectly - yay!!  That was my "disaster" I had talked about previously...  My first attempt didn't felt at all.  After 10 hours of trying to felt, I discovered that there was 70% acrylic in the yarn I had used and I was SO upset, because I thought it was just alpaca; didn't realize it was a blend...  So I had to start all over again...  But thank goodness it was all worth it with my 2nd attempt...

And I don't think I wrote about that little bag of washers in my letter.  They are much like scrabble tile pendants (these ones are not waterproof).  You can trace the washer onto some patterned paper and then glue it down and then use the resin to coat it and voilà, you've got yourself a pendant for a necklace!!  I included 2 finished pendants and 3 empty ones for you to create your own.

And I finally tried the chili chocolate over the weekend.  It was lovely; not too hot at all.  My hubby has been enjoying it too.  :)

I'm still crafting package #3; but I should be ready to send in a day or two.

This is really really late but here's package 1 from my partner aheartofglass. Unfortunately the letter explaining everything got lost during the moving process and I also can't find one item :(, a lovely notebook - as far as I remember something that helps her keep organized. Anyway, here are all the other goodies:

Everything together

Close-ups

Worry Dolls from Guatemala

Lovely cards. The painting are by one of her friends.

Her favourite craft: Glass fusing. Unfortunately one of the earrings is broken :(

Nevada stuff. I especially like the soap shaped like Nevada. The maps and the Nevada passport will come in handy in the classroom. The students have to prepare presentations about the States of America so the Nevada group will have some authentic material. Great!

A cute Snoopy bookmark that I forgot to include in the group shot.

Thank you, Cindy, for everything! It's so exciting to have learnt something about you that way. And sorry for posting that late!

Oh no! I can't believe that earring broke! (please send back and I'll repair it!)

This scares me for the large I'm making for you! I was worried about sending something fragile through the international mail but now I'm really worried since the earrings should have been fine!     :-\

Okay - here we go - my fabulous package 3 from missingwillow.  I'm kinda sad it's the end but I really do feel like I made a great friend in this swap - it's been awesome!!
First of all I got this amazing bag inspired by one on my wist.  This is her first purse if you can believe it (I think she must be lying - it's too well made!!) - it's got so many pockets and opens up in such a great way - I'll be able to find everything!

Here's something else from my wist - and once again - embroidery is a new skill for her - isn't this just too cute?

And a table mat made from felted sweaters - it is gorgeous!!

And last but not least a super cute altered tin of sushi made by missingwillow, her daughter - even cackle had a hand in this one - I'm so lucky to receive something that so many talented people had a hand in!

Thank you for being such a great swap partner missingwillow - and thanks for becoming a great friend!!

Package #3

Today I received my final package from my partner A2JC4life!  It was full of all sorts of wonderful surprises:

Fun stamps to add to my collection along with an awesome silver ink pad (soooo pretty), my favorite candies (yea), tiki ice cube tray (I collect them -awesome!), A skirt pattern to help me learn to sew! some colorful makeup - I consider make-up a craft and I paint my face everyday :)  And a wonderful VISUALLY teach yourself to crochet book, that may actually get me crocheting (the instructions inside and the pattern are GREAT).

AND she carved me some wonderful stamps!  They are 3 of my favorite things, Hippos, owls and Jasmine flowers!

Thank you for all the wonderful packages!  It has been a great swap!

So I received from Linnybelle today for my Package 3 and It's really cool!
Package 3 from Linnybelle

I got this Art Quilt Square which I have never really seen one before. Based on my favorite holiday Halloween, Black and Red (which are my favorite colors too!) And it's a spider web! The spiders are metal and the spider web is I believe hand stitched with silver metallic thread. I don't know much about quilting but it looks AWESOME! It also has hanging tabs, just haven't figured out where I wanna hang it up at.

Here are some close ups!

Then the rest of the package is a bird silhouette and a canvas square that has stars on it and gave me a better idea for decorating my room! The last this is a fabric treasure container thing... I cannot find the letter but it's something specific and in Japanese culture it is made by hand as a gift so therefore Linnybelle hand stitched it.. which is really cool (mainly because I can't hand stitch at all haha). I already put my Rosary necklace in it. The back is made with musical note fabric which i love music!

I can't wait to find places for all my decor to find a place on my walls!

The quilt is hand quilted, you are right, SilentMynerva.  I'm glad you like it!  The little bag is from a book called Omiyage, by Kumiko Sudo and she calls it a Chrysanthemum bag.

I like the silk scarf a few packages down.  It's so pretty.  The bird table mat is great too.

Now, on to the pictures of my lovely package!

Package 3 from SilentMynerva
I received the loveliest sweater in a slightly sparkly green color.  It will be great for wearing to work, since I can't wear tank tops without something on top of them.

SilentMynerva said it's called a moth wing pattern and it's really pretty.  The sparkles didn't show up very well in the picture.  It's made from thread instead of yarn, so it took a very long time.  I'm very excited to wear it!

I also now have two more fat quarters, which is always a good thing.

I'm going to use the cat one to make a little girl I know a bag and the purple one will go nicely with some other purples that I have.

This was a great swap!  Thanks to my partner and also our organizers!

Beautiful sweater, SilentMynerva!  What pattern is it from?

That spider quilt is pretty amazing. :)

Southern_Flower, we love that crochet book.  We recently discovered it at the library (along with some other craft titles in the series), and it is so well done.  I think my daughter is getting a copy for Christmas. ;)

I am nearly done with my re-started large!! Today has been a most productive day. :D I hate being late, but losing things has been my mortal enemy lately. I was soooo stoked on the embroidery project I was working on for #3. Apparently I am a VERY slow embroiderer but a very fast sew-er (with out the dash it looks like sewer where the ninja turtles live.....have to have the dash :D)

Ok Here is the Moth Wings Shrug that I made for Linnybelle!
It is called a Moth Wings Shrug by Mimi Alelis and I found it in the Summer 2010 edition of Interweave Crochet.

The color in the picture is pretty close (It is a pretty green color) and the last picture shows some of the sparkly-ness of the thread. This is one of the first times I really finished something using such a small hook so it has some oopsys. :)

I hope to make another one soon for myself :)

An overall group shot:

2 postcards from her summer trip and a book lovers journal - which will come in handy for my book blog!

A lovely necklace and earring set and a chunky charm bracelet:

A clever little box that held the jewelry, I really love this!

Thanks so much for swapping with me, Mandy!

My partner, Eveamliyza, asked me to post photos of the swap items I sent her for package three as she doesn't have access to a camera right now.

Carlee is the ATC queen and one of her requests was someplace to store her ATCs, perhaps a decorated notebook. Thinking about it, I decided I wanted to make something a little fancier than a notebook. My idea was to create a large, free-standing piece that cold both display and store ATCs and other small artwork and ephemera. I'm calling it a Display Round for lack of a better term :D

Here are pics and details follow:

The unit without ATCs

Close up of the Base with some ATCs tucked inside

Close up of the top with 6 different ATCs displayed

Finally, here are the 6 ATCs I created to accompany the Display Round so that it was ready to go with art to display when it arrived :D

These are, from top left going clockwise, "Rustic Russia", "Wise Old Owl", "Flame Practice", "Slytherin State of Mind", "The Key to Everything" and "Garden Glow." The top of the Display Round can showcase six different ATCs while the base has 16 compartments to tuck other ATCs and artwork not on display.

The Display Round looks rather plain but it was built from scratch and quite the undertaking. Thanks to this swap I now own a router for my Dremel and my back porch has black spray paint splotches on the concrete ;D

Love it!

The top floor....her lovely book covered bedrrom lol!

The top floor lifts out! Here it is next to the "lid" of the house which is beautiful on the inside as well!

Here is the fisrt floor! So awesome!!!!!!

Its so cute! Lots of lovely little items! A dish rack made out of a pine cone! How clever!!!

I love the little curtains and finishings!! Who am I kidding? I LOVE the whole thing!!
Thanks so much Dawn for being a great partner!!!!!

OMG That "Display Round" is EPIC!! I'm not huge into the ATCs but mostly because I don't know where I would put them or how I would display them. That solves everything! I am SOOO pinning it! Brilliant!

Package #3 from thisbirdsabsurd

Guess what I got from thisbirdsabsurd for my package #3?  I got a mini-me art doll!  She stalked me really well through a friend as well as my farm blog.  It's got my blue eyes, shoulder length silver hair, farm boots, the overalls I live in and she's carrying a market basket full of things I sell at our farmers' market!  Aren't I cute??  I love her art dolls and now I have one all my own.  I knew exactly what it was when I opened the box.  So did my husband, so good job capturing me!

Here's a close up of my market basket contents.  It contains raw fleece, honey, carrots, tomatoes, pear tomatoes, garlic and soap.

She also sent a cat toy for our cat Bindi, upcycled from a felted sweater.

And a toy for our Jenna, she loves it!

Well, she loves playing with it.  We're mean at her sometimes.  Jenna says "thank you, Jen".

You're awesome!  I'm thrilled with everything you sent me for this swap.  THANK YOU!

Glad you liked your package - and like I said a million times - this was tons of fun!

I received parcel #2 from SilentMyNerva a few days ago, and let me just say, she spoilt me rotten.

I received a gorgeous black, white and pink shrug.

She also made me this cool bag with my online handle and last name printed.

Contained within was a lovely notepad, crochet hooks, a hand made journal with crochet instructions and examples and a skein of lovely soft wool. She also sent me a bag of sour Jelly Belly jelly beans but I forgot to get a pic of those hehe.

Thanks for such a thoughtful package, I love it and can't wait for parcel 3 :D

Package 2 from FinRaziel

I received a great package from FinRaziel last week. We have both had busy summers and had to send late (I am actually still working on my package 2 which I hope to have out soon! eek!) but I love her package and it totally made my day.

First we have my cat May modeling an adorable felted purse. I've just learned to felt, so I'm really impressed. Also, the little flowers are so cute! I love little purses and this will be very useful for me. :)

Next we have 5 things to add to my stash...and clearly this is way more than 5 things. There are 6 skeins of Knit Picks Shine Sport, 3 skeins of 100% cashmere(!) yarn, and a skein of a silk/cotton blend. All good yarns for summer knitting! Also, I swear that I did not put my cat in these pictures. As soon as I took my camera out, she would walk into the shot and I couldn't really make her leave.  ::)

It was a lovely, well thought out package, thank you so much!

Package 3

I received package three from Southern Flower a few days ago, and have been remiss in posting pictures.  (We homeschool, and this is our first week of school, so things have been a bit crazy.)  Here is my awesome package:

Oh.  All images are clickable thumbnails.

The package was topped with this beautiful fabric:

And contained a complete needle-felting kit:

I'm so excited, because this is one of those things I've wanted to learn to do, but probably wouldn't have ever gotten around to getting the supplies for myself.  But my daughter and I will probably both experiment with this very soon.

And utilizing her best craft, my partner made me these lovely earrings.  (Hopefully you can see them.  Earrings are hard to photograph!)
(https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=475934)  packaged beautifully in this cute little bag: (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=475933)

The package also contained decorative tissues (so beautiful!), more of some bag clips she sent last time that work great and are in use constantly, and these "magic animals" for my girls.
(https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=475928)   (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=475931)   (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=475932)

The magic animals grow crystals to look like this: (Pardon the crappy picture.  I tried and tried, but this was the best I could get it to focus.)

Thank you so much, Southern Flower, for a great swap!  I enjoyed choosing items for you, and hope I did as good a job matching them to your tastes as you did mine!

Package 3 from Ewulotta

I received this amazing skirt from Ewulotta inspired by my wists!!! It fit beautifully but I don't have a full length mirror in my home so I couldn't get a picture of me wearing it!
It's so pretty and *swirly* and feminine!

She also sent me this lovely little purse filled with beads! So much variety and color! I'm already incorporating some of the beads in a project I'm working on!!!

Thank you so much Ewulotta! I love the skirt and will get a lot of pleasure wearing it! and the beads will get a lot of use too!

I had the *best* partners in this swap!  I know that Rosy's Package 3 from me arrived in good shape now I'm holding my breath that Ewulotta's does too.... (this is the hazard of being a glass artist I guess!)

And here is everything else! I am already using the crochet thread to make myself the shrug I made for Linnybelle!
And there is a tiny fish with crayons inside... He is currently swimming in a candle right now :)

The candle is Lavender which smells good!!! And a drawing of a hoop thing that I liked. I really need to put up all the drawings and stuff on my walls!!! Maybe I can do that tomorrow!!

I am eager for Mod35tBabe to get my third package... Guess the mix up with the Post Office made it take longer than I wanted for it to get to Australia!
Finally it has arrived. Without further ado....here is my package!

Firstly I received a black and red vest/tunic top which is just awesome - I'm wearing it as I type. If the weather would warm up a bit I'd be wearing this as much as I could hehe.

Up next is a lovely bangle - gorgeous colour eh? and CANDY CORN! I LOVE CANDY CORN!!!!!!

And lastly is a cool puzzle and a dino sandwich cutter for my stepdaughter

Thanks for an awesome swap SilentMyNerva!

Parcel #3 received from Onyxnox!

First, I'd like to apologize to our organizer and to my partner for being soooooooooooooo late in both sending parcel #3 AND in posting these pesky pictures!  Life kinda took over the end of August on me and I got busier than I've been in quite some time...  So I am sorry and I hope you don't think ill of me....  :'(

Anyway, my parcel #3 was AWE-SOME!!!  :)  Really looking forward to playing around with these goodies!  Supplies are always exciting to me - ALWAYS!

So first up is a DIY Stencilling kit complete with printed instructions, hobby knife, cutting mat, freezer paper, fabric medium and mixing jars, and an awesome Eric bag (love True Blood).  Not only that, but a great True Blood notebook, too - I can hardly wait to try my hand at stenciling!!

Next is this cute cute cute WIP bag, with matching crochet hook roll and wristband pincushion.  So cute!!

Inside the WIP bag, were these goodies!  Some nice yarn and some sewing notions.  :)  I'm not too sure what to make with the yarn yet, but you'd better believe I'm gonna check out ravelry and figure it out!!

And last but not least, some very thoughtful extras.  Some gorgeous organdy flowers with freshwater pearls in the centre  to use as I see fit.  I think I might do a headband or two for my daughter with these, and maybe put the rest on a nice handmade blouse or dress.  Also some embellished bobby pins (so cute!) and finally some chocolate covered berries -- my partner was being respectful of my weight loss journey and these treats were SO thoughtful - I REALLY appreciate them!!  (And I've already had a couple bags, what is shown is just what is left - very yummy treats and they don't send me over the deep end in calories, and they are full of beneficial antioxidants, to boot!).  :)

So thank you partner, for everything in all 3 wonderful parcels.  I appreciate everything so very much and I had a lot of fun!!!  Your parcel should be there by the weekend, and I'm really hoping you like everything.  And again, I do apologize for being so pokey with parcel #3.   :-[

Hey! I'm kinda tickeled that part of my Package 3 to Ewulotta is a "featured project" on the Glass boards!

https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=389709.0

it was inspired by a paper version on her wists - mine is made of glass and dichoric decals.

anyway - just excited and had to share!  :D

I got my package from what's_her_name earlier in the week - she made me a pair of scrubs and sent me the pattern to make my own, and a whole box load of papercrafting supplies - love the stamps and am eager to try the dies.

I wore the top already on Wednesday and got so many compliments from my coworkers - they love the pattern and fabric.

Thank you so much - it was totally worth the wait!

Sorry for the wrinkles, I took the picture after wearing it to work, and DH threw it in the hamper before I took pics.

The pattern pieces for the scrubs to make my own

Papercutting dies, and adorable Halloween stamps

More gorgeous stamps - I have some ideas for these and some new things I am trying

An elegant portable office/organizer set - so pretty!

Thank you so much - I had so much fun making and receiving from you.  This was a lovely swap, and I am looking to the Holiday Edition coming up!

I'm so happy that it fits and that your co-workers even noticed!  :)  I hope you enjoy using the pattern - before you do, keep in mind that I sometimes missed adding some of the markings on my freezer paper copy and then I'd just do it as I was cutting out instead.  I've sewn enough that that worked for me, but you might want to open up the original pattern to compare before you start making your own and fix the freezer paper copy up a bit.  I know I missed a handful of markings...

And I hope you have a ton of fun with the stamps!  You can go to SplitCoastStampers.com and look up pretty much any one of those stamp sets in the gallery for about a million ideas for cards.

I feel terrible that I haven't posted pictures until now.  I received an amazing Package 3 from aheartofglass:

First, a gorgeous plate that at first glance just looks dark blue with lovely transparent blue like and little dichroic pink squares, but the moment the light hits it, it explodes with gold and purple shimmer-y ness.  Also, I don't know if it was on purpose or just a side effect of how to make the design but I really like the  bubbles around each little pink square that are so even on each one.

And, as if that weren't enough, she also sent me two dinosaur trivets/coasters/glass squares to do whatever with:

Aren't they cool?!  I love dinosaurs and she hand painted them into? on? the glass!

Thank you so much aheartofglass this was a great package and a fun swap!  Again sorry for the delay of picture posting.
