I received my Matchbox from Nostephot today. Thank you! I love it.

She packaged it by wrapping it in a lovely batik fabric and adding a few bay leaves that came from a tree in her yard.

The box itself looks as though she made it from scratch. I love the hexagons and sparkly butterflies!

And the contents are lovely. My favorite bits are the butterfly bead and jewels. The wire spiral look pretty and I could use them as stitch markers for knitting or crochet. I also like the brads. I've never used brads in papercrafting to go but am eager to have a go now that I have them. The fabric yoyo is really pretty and I love every little thing.

Thanks for such a wonderful matchbox!

i received one amazing matchbox today from the fabulous rackycoo! it combines so many of my favorite things, i just adore it!  on to the photos!!!  (which are unfortunately, not great, but really the lighting doesn't get much better in my house and i'm not such a great photographer ;))

opened up to show the goodies inside!  this time, i actually took a picture before digging through it like a little brat! ;)

the goodies in more detail, some great stamps, beads, bird scrabble tile pendant and last but most definitely not least, a tiny hand carved owl stamp!

once all the goodies were emptied out, i discovered a fabulous surprise, an owl peeking around the tree!

thanks a bunch, rackycoo, i love it all!

I have sent, but sent my "sent" msg to the wrong craftybutterfly, I realised my mistake when my name didn't go blue for a couple of days.... whoopsie! Oh well, the real Crafty Butterfly has my msg now, and I'm hoping my partner receives everything in good order, can't wait to know what she thinks! :D

;D So, I received my matchbox from Samantha_Mckay just a day ago! It is so beautiful and lovely. I like it so much. The goodies inside are so awesome! Here are the pictures!

Here is the wonderful front. I just learned that the angel charmery thingy windes off! WEEEEEEEE

Here's another view of the front.

The cork knobby is soooo cute. It feels so satisfying to grab it and slide the drawer out!

I was so excited to see all the goodies on the inside I didn't even have time to take a picture of them all packed in prettily, I had to see them. Now you get to also!

They are soooo, eeekkkkk, WONDERFUL!

Here are some of my favorite charms... that is very hard to say because I absolutely love every one of them! Oh and the snail is handmade by Samantha_Mckay! Hes adorable!

Hope you all enjoyed as much as is did! Thanks so much for the little package of joy!

I received from jmiller614 over the weekend! I apologize in advance for the abundance of pics...

I totally almost didn't grab my camera before opening the package! I ripped in and was like.... ACKKK! Gotta find my camera!

All the neat "sciency" stuff on the backside of the wrapping ;) Honestly, not a lot of made sense.. I'd have used it for packaging too :P Though, for a minute just holding it and reading it made me feel smarter :P LOL Sorry, I'm one of those into little details and I loved this paper.. I'm silly, I know!

She packed it inside of a school box :)

Upon opening... a nice note :)

And under all the ad fluff... a totally cool Legend inspired sword!!!

unboxed sword..

unfortunately, the glue somehow sealed it all closed together... I even pried a knife carefully between the seams of the cover into the box opening.. I think the Texas heat melded it all together. BUT!... I glue gunned it immediately! :)

And... voila! fixed and opened :)

Sword and all the goodies and bits and pieces inside... the little magnets' tops were melted a bit into each other somehow(Texas heat perhaps-it's 90 already here) and I carefully pulled them apart with a bit of peeling... but I love them. My son loves them too.. I haven't shown him the little capsules. They will be a surprise for him to see what they are. We haven't done those things before with him. I will have to find something to do with all of these little things :) But, truth be told... the sword is my fav part!
link to bigger picture: http://www.boomspeed.com/wilcoxen/DSC05436.JPG

Thank you jmiller614 !!! I have to find a permanent home for my new sword ;) I will be sending yours out as soon as I finish it up! Not much more to go now :)

My problem isn't swap anxiety, it's swap envy! Every time I see something like Theaquacreature's maple leaf buttons, or ChristieAnn's iridescent glass moon, I just want to reach through the screen and grab them for myself!

I'm awestruck at the tiny dreamcatcher, Samantha_McKay! :o And building a matchbox into a sword? How come my brain doesn't work that way? :D

Ahoy ye land lubbin' craftsters!  Tis Calico Jennie here with news...  I took possession of a wee bit a' shiny this afternoon, and yer all lucky enough to be getting a share in it!  This little bit of plunder came by way of that salty old craft-dog, jmiller614.  A fine crafter to be sure, but also in need of a more fearsome Crafty-Pirate sounding name if ye ask me....  Well, without further ado, here be the pictures:

A detail of my favorite bits of booty, the wee jewels in the shape of cutlasses, and a set of tiny teapot and teacup magnets!

Also, did you know that in pirate-speak to go "Crack Jenny's Tea Cup" means to spend the night in a house of ill repute?  :-*

And for those of ye who like to see how cargo be packed up all tiny:

I be thankin' ye from the bottom of my thievin' black heart Ms. Miller!  Twill make an excellent addition to the desk in me quarters.   ;)

leslieshappyheart sent me a wonderful matchbox stuffed with so many goodies it was literally bulging out in every direction.

She went with my Halloween theme, and included an adorable jack o' lantern.. oh.. by the way.. this is HAND DRAWN. amazing!

All the goodies, including some cute ribbon that the box came wrapped in. I love the mini scrabble tiles (my initials), the key, and the hand drawn skully cupcake magnet.

And my favorite, a handmade book thong with a cute purple monster!

thank you soooo much leslie! everything is wonderful :)

I really like those adorable vintage book plates!  And Mr. Singer made me giggle!  Beautiful artwork on the Halloween box!
I sent my box out this afternoon!  Can't wait to see what I receive!

Okay, I feel like a moron. My husband pointed out that the printer I've had for awhile now, has a camera card port. So, even without  my camera cord I can upload pics.
And usually I am so tech savvy.

So here is the cute little matchbox that Fullmoon sent to me (I was the first to receive, see how lazy I am!?)
The box...

All neatly packed...

The goodies... Check out the awesome earrings! They are perfectly Slytherin and will go with all my costumes.

Inside of the box...   I love the paper pattern inside it's so swirly.

And now of course the matchbox is totally going to become a box for tiny earrings for packing my earrings in for the Harry Potter Con I'm going to be at next week! Thank you! :)

And since Fullmoon is having camera troubles she asked me to post the box that I sent to her.
I went with a rock/music sorta theme.
I sent it with black ribbon to keep it tied up, but didn't take a pic of that.

The box...

The skull pin comes off and can be worn or used.

All packed up...

Contents...

Close up of the hand made charms...

I received my matchbox yesterday from blupaisan!

So I was too eager to open the box and knowing that my perfectionism would make me want "perfect images" I skipped the opening-the-box pictures and ripped right into it. Sorry 'bout that, but my matchbox from blupaisan is absolutely amazing so I'm sure you all can forgive me for not posting me ripping the tape off the box. =D

I unwrapped him from the tissue paper and could not stop giggling! He is soo adorable and incredibly creative! =D

the back

My goodies! Awesome cat stamps, a handmade panda bobby pin, a seed bead rainbow, a handmade mini panda, and a rainbow and tree silhouette magnet.

I love this magnet, it's beautiful! It's already on my board in my room!

I don't want to post too many pictures, so if you want to see more, here's the thumbs.
(https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=448865)    (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=448860)    (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=448859)    (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=448863)

My cat is really interested in my panda too. I think he smells your cats blupaisan! And no, I have no idea what you made the claws out of! I took a macro of the claws so if anyone wants to guess. I just got my new camera so that was fun getting to play some more! ;)

Thank you so much blupaisan, I LOVE my panda! I know I put pandas on my questionnaire, but I don't know if you guessed that I'm OBSESSED with them! I don't know if you can tell, but all the pictures were taken on my panda comforter. =D

As for my boxes for Samantha_McKay and mingus107, they were sent today!!! I just cant wait until they receive them! I know that they will love them, I had a hard time parting with them! So did my family, they felt bad I was giving them away! But I dont, I just love giving people crafts and art! YAY

Prepare to be amazed because another beautiful matchbox created by Leslieshappyheart has arrived!

Cute card and ribbon which already has a future purpose for a cherry blossom cake I must do this summer

So this is what I thought was the top until I started opening it up and things started falling out and I realized, d'oh, it's upside down!

I turned it over and taadaaaa!  A gorgeous hand drawn robin.

I can't believe how much she was able to stuff in here!

Here is all the swag laid out:

My favourites are the pretty bookmark with the handmade nest charm, the adorable Be Happy magnet (which Lelieshappyheart made with her button maker), the stamps, and the ribbon.  Thank You Leslie!!!!

Wow! This gallery is moving fast. Everyone has such creative ideas....all the 'boxes are wonderful!
And speaking of wonderful......here is the super matchbox I received from jennieingram. I mentioned my "mild obsession" with mermaids (NOT the cute kind) and she went with it.
The matchbox is handmade and the pics don't do justice to the subtle color and texture of the box.

Back view

And all the awesome goodies inside. Like everyone else, I'm amazed at what you can pack inside one of these things. Kinda like a clown car.....I kept pulling stuff out!
Note the mermaid earrings and the tiny little bottle full of even tinier shells!

Jennie, thank you so much! I love it.  :D

I just opened this makes-me-so-happy Nature box from MaxParadise. This photo just does not capture its true colors or gorgeousity!
Inside, some neat stuff -

and a view of some faves - two tiny deer (i adore cute deer) some eenty weentsy I dont know what they are called, all I can think of are brads but I think that is wrong.   You put them through holes in your paper and bend the tabs backwards to seal.  sooo tiny!  And two fantastic decorated paper clips, an numerous bits that I cooed over.

thank you so much, MaxParadise.  I really love it, especially the wee twig handle to open it.

I love all of the recent additions!

The bird box is lovely - the drawing is really really gorgeous. The mermaid box is also amazing - there are so many neat treasures inside. The wire nest is fantastic and the little wooden drawer pull was such a clever idea.

My partner and I should both be receiving today :). Yippeee!

The idea behind the Mermaid matchbox was that of a sort of Steamphunkish-Victorianesque "Mermaid Finding Expedition".  I pictured a lady adventurer setting off in a steam-powered submarine, expedition journal and spyglass in hand, determined to find proof of the elusive Mermaid civilization.  After a good cup of tea of course.  ;)

W :o W!! I am loving this gallery!!!  The panda is too cute- want him!!  The bird nest box is also a 'gimmie', I'm coveting the hand drawn bird box, and the mermaid is amazing, too.  I am crafting away, but never enough time with work getting in the way.  I am hoping to finish up some things this weekend.  I am loving looking at all the creating going on while I am moving in what seems like slow motion....must kick it up a notch or two.....

Great new matchboxes in the gallery with lots of goodies packed inside. Being a critter person, I esp like the panda and bird boxes. More beautiful leslieshappyheart art on that bird--gorgeous! And the panda is so funny--you could be like a craftster SMUGGLER or something, blupaisan! (for good, I mean, not evil :D)

I received from jennieingram yesterday!

We both learned that we grew up in NH and she really took off on that theme. Which was amazing! Except now I am stuck in California and really missing NH!

The back of the box:

The front and inside:

Some of my favorite items:

The bottle cap has an old postcard of NH for the image (my favorite!) and the paper is a poem from Robert Frost. Absolutely in love with this!

Thanks Jennie!

Man, I've just been ogling over all the awesome matchboxes in this gallery :) I'm working slowly but surely on my own matchboxes but I had to take a break from my normally scheduled program to share this wonderful matchbox I received from calixita!!! It's so pretty :)

The box is decorated with my old nautical instruments theme :D Do you see that awesome mini telescope there all covered in cute barnacles and surrounded by seaweed and shells? How cool! Love it!

She also threw some extra shells into the box as "added padding" ^_~ And chose a really cool ship picture for her lovely note to me! And I think it was made by doing a tape transfer for all you paper crafters out there. You can also see how stuffed this matchbox is/was!

All the pretties all together. I'm wearing the owl earrings right now :) And check out that really cool sea captain pendant she made (bottom left corner). He will be worn once I find a proper chain to hang him from! I also got a lovely set of pearls including a pearl stick!

And then you see that little book in the upper right corner of the picture? Well, this is some of the pages inside! Birds and what they sound like! She even got my most favorite birds of all time! The red-winged blackbird (they're so pretty!) :D

Thank you so much, calixita! I loves it!

OK everybody.... prepare for the amazingness that is Theaquacreature. This is what you call true serendipity. Aqua already posted the octo box I made for her- we actually received our boxes on the same day. We never got into many specifics when communicating about our boxes, but this is what we ended up with.....

Can you believe it???!!! An amazing octopus matchbox!!!!! Look at the detail. All hand stitched! A treasure chest with seed bead handles! Really?! Suction cups made from book pages, sequins & beads! Seriously?!

Rear view. Immaculate- even the inside of the box sleeve is decorated! What?! The chest is jeweled with woodgrained hindges and a sprinkle of glitter!

As if the box itself wasn't enough, it was packed with goodies!!!

Look at the teapot earrings!!! Is that a cameo?! Shells & beads with my name! Teeny, tiny oragami stars.

A quote from Jane Austen. My favorite author. And I adore the expression on his face- Fierce!
I know this post is gonna be crazy long, but I can't help myself. I was too impatient & I tore into the beautifully packed box without taking pictures. Layers of lovely paper and a handmade note card. This is my very first swap and I'm amazed at how it worked out. When I opened Aqua's box, I started squealing and hitting my husband in the arm- repeatedly. It was too crazy, too awesome. Pretty magical. Thank you, Aqua! You are truly amazing!

I actually received from JPea on the 15th, but only properly got home to my camera cable yesterday, so here are the photos of all my goodies:
Here is what I received:

There was a little card and message which I opened first:

Then I unwrapped the paper to find a tiny little TARDIS:

Which I opened to reveal... things!

There is: A cross stitch pattern of a boat (there's a house on the other side), thread and a piece of aida, lots of beads, a cute button ring, a teddy bear charm, a little carousel horse and a rose.

And then here's an action shot of the ring because I love it so much ;D

Thankyou JPea!!

You're welcome Kat - glad it made it intact, I tried to get everything you said you liked in there...except space, because - I ran out of space!!  Meant to say the ring is adjustable, you can just pull it out to fit.

Received from Fullmoon today! :D The mail was really fast for this one; I hope mine travel as swiftly in the other direction.

The box itself is remarkably restrained (well, it would be remarkable for me) with tiny silver stars on a dark blue background. Very classy. The paper covering the drawer has Asian calligraphy printed on it. It came accompanied by this little purple fellow. Not "decoration" exactly. Maybe "bodyguard"?

The pack.

And inside:
  • A length of green sequin trim
  • A gold-coloured flat metal ring
  • A gold-coloured metal disk with loops
(this could be very useful)
  • Fourteen pony beads in bright colours
  • A 2009 US penny showing Lincoln reading when he's supposed to be working :D
  • Two copper wire figures, one a bass clef and the other a tiny spiral
  • A metallic letter 'A' bead
  • A one-inch metal jewelry bar
  • A metallic green "Rock the Arts" guitar pick
  • Six brightly-coloured happy face stickers

What a great little stash of stuff! Nothing there I can't use, and I especially like the stickers and the lil' purple guy. (If anyone knows who this character is, please fill me in.)

Thanks so much!

Wulf

Hey Wulf!  Your "bodyguard" looks like one of the new "GoGoBones" - a small collectible toy - they are really cool - there is a website about them too, but I couldn't identify yours.  If it is a GoGoBones it will have a little round insignia (badge?) on the back - I just discovered them a couple of weeks ago, when one of the drug stores here gave out free samples as a promotion of the company that manufactures these cool little guys.  I have 26 so far - I guess that is considered an addiction.  Oh great, another one (addiction)!  :)

That was my box that made the site crash! ;) ROFL! I know it was because of the sexy vampire pic. :)

I received my matchbox late Saturday. I am sorry for the late pics. I am in the area for all the flooding that is on the news. I live on a hill so I did not flood but everything around me is flooded.

I received a gorgeous mermaid box from wax51. I just adore it. It was wrapped in a cut little bag. I just adore that bag. :) I loved everything inside. I love all the sea stickers she included and the wing. Everything in the box was a favorite.

Here's all the pics:

so many beautiful boxes- I've missed quite a few, our weather in Memphis has been beyond horrible.  As I type I am listening to tornado sirens.... yuck.  My i-net's been crappy because of it, so I've missed soooo much!  I have to say those octo boxes are so coveted!  What talent!

A note about Wulf's Gogo- my son named it right off the bat (he collects them, too!)  Of course I forgot the name, but I admit they are funny addictive sorts- I have a few perched on my monitor!

Keep the beauties coming!

I received from tree27!  Sorry the picture quality isn't that great.  It's really overcast today.

Here is the outside!  I love the heart charm on the front.

And the goodies inside:

So many tiny things!  Harry Potter shrinky dinks, bottlecap magnet, stickers, charms and flowers!  I think the heart, wishbone and shrinkies are my favourites but I love everything so it's hard to choose!  Thanks tree27!  I'm just finishing up yours and I'll send it!  Hope you like it as much as I liked mine!

I received from the lovely Smallhold yesterday, because I was home late from work, I'm posting pics today!

She made me an awesome travel set! Smallhold says the fake leather is from Yves Saint Laurent, my first thought was Louis Vuitton, either way it's great! So awesome I gasped when I opened the package and so awesome I have to post more pic's of the set:

If I was twelve I would totally play that my barbies were going on vacation with these suitcases and bag!
Traveling wasn't one of my themes but my partners could choose anything else! Smallhold explained she encourages young people like me to travel while they can. I couldn't agree more! The places these suitcases have been include Singapore, Paris, Cairo, San Francisco, New York and Mumbai. I wonder if you visted all these places Smallhold?

Smallhold paid attention to detail! Look at the underside of the suitcases!

The smalled suitcase was filled with goodies, the pic a bit bad, because I had to take the pic when it was dark outside. (You must understand I couldn't possibly wait another day to unpack my suitcase!)

Goodies! A pin with feet, velvet choker, flower shapes buttons <3, lots of sequins, furry little balls and a pretty pendant!

Thank you so much Smallhold!

I had the exact same thought.

I was very careful with my line-walking, but I believe at least one of my packages might raise an eyebrow or two.

Wasn't my fault, of course, some projects have a will of their own.  :D

Edited to add: Noooooooooooooooooo -- that's some gorgeous work.

Lol, glad you like the matching travel set. And the faux leather could indeed be LV.
Anyway, I asked CherryRose beforehand if it was ok if I send more then one package. Promised not to pack anything in the others.  But just one suitcase would not do the trick.
And the moment I stalked her for her likes and dislikes, I knew it had to be a matching set of suitcases.   :D
And sewing by hand the little duffelbag was fun... with a pair of strap on binoculars I use for tiny work.  ;D

Good grief, looking at the other packages that arrived, it's prolly amazing what goes on here.
Isn't this something for an exhibition of some kind?

Suereal missed the sign up for the swap. We've been swap partners in the past, and I just couldn't bear to see her sad, longing-to-be-in-this-swap posts in the thread so I invited her to a personal swap.

I checked with our fearless swap organizer to make sure it was ok to post my pics here- and here they are!

I can't believe she fit so much stuff in there!

and some of my favorites.

We also swapped some other goodies, I'll post that on the personal swap board when I get a second.
Thanks again suereal! You rock- I love everything so much!

I rec'd from Craft Butterfly about a week ago (I think??) and have been too lame to post until now because, well, I guess I am a loser partner LOL.

Anyhow, she sent me the dopest matchbox (yeah I said dopest, that's right.....breakin' it down old skool). Its a friggin' mustachio'd gnome! I love this lil' guy!

I mean, c'mon, how I didn't think of combining my two favorite things, gnomes and mustaches, before now is beyond me. Here are the goodies still in their original stuffed state....

And all the contents dumped out:

I squealed when I saw the teeny tiny stamps made from erasers. I love them! And I adore all the reshaped, colored paperclips; I have always wanted to try it myself but haven't yet....can't wait to find awesome uses for them! Some of my other favorites are the googly eyes, the glittery button, and these two clear buttons that are (hard to describe! LOL) bowl shaped? Concave? Friggin' Awesome!

Thanks Crafty Butterfly. I loved it all. The matchbox is going into my new gnome collection. Also, I have yours nearly done and will be sending out tomorrow!! Yay!!

I received a wonderful matchbox and terrific trinkets from curiousfae today.

When I opened the box (and p.s., she's a GOOD WRAPPER :o), this sparkley butterfly appeared inside a beautifully embossed frame:

Ah---so smart to put a thin piece of plastic over the art = keeps sparkles where they look best! She went with my summer and from the sky themes. Butterfly really says them both.

I tugged the satiny ribbon "doorknob" and saw all these treasures packed so nicely in there:

It would take me HOURS to do that! It felt almost criminal to spill everything out. For about 10 SECONDS!
What fantastic little things were in there:

Angel wings, a flower rubber stamp, a tiny glass jar of the tiniest beads, those cute scissors!, a metal frame, a needle threader, safety pins, tiny keys, a GORGEOUS monarch button, a big silver bee pendant, a little silver bee charm, very colorful glass decorations... Wow! Thank you so much, curiousfae. I super love everything--and the sparkly butterfly on the bottom of the box, too.

I have received my awesome matchbox from missmlissa, and here it is:

It came wrapped in a page from a book and beautiful purple yarn.

Can you believe how cute this is!! I squealed with delight when I saw this felt bird, and the too-cute felted worm coming out of the box!

Here are all the treasures I got.  She made a birdnest magnet from wire and beads, which will soon be on my frig!  She also made some deliciously cinnamon-smelling buttons.  What are they made from?? There is also a beautiful flower button, two ceramic bird beads, a pretty leaf bead which might be jade, a bee pin, and a lovely two-piece jewelry clasp; and some little clear snowflakes and tiny rhinestones and a "think big" charm.

Here you can see the inside of the box, which is lined with woodsy-type paper; but look at the outside of the box--it seems to be covered in real birch bark!

She packed so many wonderful things inside, but this bee pin is my favorite!

Did I mention that I also sent her a bird-themed matchbox?  We even made each other a birdnest (she made me the magnet and I made her a charm on a book thong)!!  As she said in her note to me, great minds think alike!

Thanks a million, missmlissa, I love everything so much, and I appreciate the thought and care you put into every part of this creation!

Thanks so much spidermom. I love my little box.

Then, I was delighted to discover the box's innards:

Packed:

Unpacked:

And I squealed again when I saw the inside (caution: swear word involved):

Seriously awesome!!! I am going to turn both the cover and the inner box into magnets so I can see them all the time, and I totally have plans for my goodies, where were UHMAZINGly dead on for my crafting purposes. :D Thank you so much, curiousfae!!!! I only hope mine is an adequate trade!

Soooo...here are pics of the unfortunately destroyed matchbox I sent Sarad. :( RIP!

and the stuff I stuffed inside:

The tattoo swallow was handdrawn as an homage to her and her boyfriend's pet name for each other: 'bird' and the owl pendant was an image transferred on a shell pendant that I made. I also made the earrings. Hopefully they survived!

I got the coolest box from burntsmore today!  She stalked me really really well. I got a vine tendrils box:

I loooooove vine tendrils and collect them. I think they are one of the prettiest things that Nature makes.  a shot of the back:

some of the vines are hanging on to pearl beads - so cute!
the insides-

I love the little handle.
the loot -

My faves are the wee birdie house and the tiny shell and the bunnies.  and the fishie.

Thanks so much for all the nice words towards my wee monsterbox.  Yes, it's poly clay.  I made a paper matchbox, covered it with foil, leaving a "tail" of foil sticking out of what would be the mouth.  Then I formed the beasty around that.  After baking it, I gently pulled the foil box out of it's "mouth".  I used the drawer from the same template, re enforced it with aluminium tape, then glued the teeth on to the front of the drawer.  I loaded on lots of paint to make "gums" and ensure it was glued on as well as possible.  To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to work LOL.

The whole gallery is WICKED!  I love the little suit cases, and the tendrile box, and the framed butterfly one, and the wee gnome one, and so many others it's hard to remember LOL.  Nice job everyone ;D

I particularly like the ones where you have to look closely and think "Where's the matchbox?" (sword, monster, etc.)

Too bad about the box the dog ate - it was really beautiful. I also hope the earrings survived; they were my favourite part. And I especially love seeing how much was packed into curiousfae's Neil Gaimon box. As everyone will have noticed from the last swap, my thing is to pack as much into the box as is humanly possible, so it's nice to see someone else's exploding with goodies!

re: stuffing the boxes- i kept thinking of a all-u-can-eat buffet where people just stuff food in their face even when they aren't hungry! i even closed the box and got some tweezers and kept stuffing stuff in!!!

I do that too! Tweezers let you place things really precisely so they fit as closely as possible. And if it doesn't quite fit, you can just lift it back out and try in another spot. Beads are good for filling in the little spaces between things, and if you get really obsessive ;) you can use seed beads to fill in the few tiny gaps that remain!

I had the week from hell last week.  I worked 72 hours and I was completely fried.  When I got home Saturday from work I had just the remedy I needed. I recieved the sweetest surprise ever from Lilybet85.

For someone who was appologizing for this being her first matchbox swap I think you will all agree she nailed it!

Now on to the pictures so you can all be pea green with envy. LOL

Lilybet drew this beautiful Angel and then painted her.  She added the tiniest details and beautiful little stars and even painted the inside of the "drawer" in silver metallic.

\
Tada - look at all the wonderful goodies she crammed inside.

I put on the Angel earrings right away - well after I got done squealing - then on to the Angels, Fairies, butterflies and the cutest cat stickers, which by the way look just like my cat Isabella.

Thanks you so much for my lovely matchbox, Lilybet you were a great partner.

Received a very sweet matchbox today from my swap partner, Sarad.  The outside is covered in black and white sheet music with a little bird -

It was stuffed with great little bits including an origami crane, 2 pink tickets, 5 itty bitty purple flower buttons, two vintage red buttons, a gold button, a dolphin button, a music note button, a tiny wooden spool, mini dice, and my favorite item of all a little plastic pink molded figure.

Thank you Sarad - I will definitely find projects for all the great little bits!

I have been sick for nearly a week now, and came home early from work today to get some extra rest.  Shortly after getting home I received the most lovely matchbox from cackle!  Honestly, I'm surprised it made it here safely.  There has been pouring rain and flooding for a week now, and there was a *HUGE* tear in the envelope that cackle's matchbox came in.  If she hadn't packed it so lovingly in a nice big sturdy jewelry box, I don't think it would have arrived here in one piece!  When I opened the envelope (or rather, pulled the box out of the back of the envelope), I saw how pretty it was wrapped and decided that if I was going to sit down and enjoy the box, I'd go all out.

So I made myself a tray of tea and biscuits.  Doesn't that look like a lovely way to start the evening?

When I opened the box, I found not one, but two matchboxes inside!  There was the actual box that cackle made for me, plus a little box of "overflow" matchbox goodies!

Here's a close up on the matchbox itself.  Cackle really hit the nail on the head with this box.  I work as a costume designer in theatre and dance, and I love the steampunk-ish side of Victoriana, so the outside of the box is a tiny Victorian theatre, filled with all kinds of vintage Victorian-esque bits!  I love the copper and gold paper lace trims!

Let's not forget the back of the box!

As I unpacked my matchbox and "overflow box", I soon started to run out of room on my tea tray!  I took lots of pictures of things as they came out, but soon realized that I probably should edit myself down from 30 pictures to something more manageable...  like say 5.  Or 7...  So instead of 12 pictures of each thing coming out, here are all the beautiful little bits and bobs packed away in my boxes.

Items inside include from top-ish left, clockwise:
Silver chandeliers, green cut glass beads, antique gold purse, sewing machine, angel, dress, crown, moon, teapot, gears, key, & clock face charms; silver earring hooks, silver dress hangers & winged key charms; giant silver pendant bezel, big fat crystal drop, brass pressed wing shaped bits, ball chain, strand of red beads, gears, gold bead caps, olive cut glass and amber crystal beads, deep red cut glass beads, beautiful polyclay piece, and an orange pekoe tea label.

And of course, some detail shots.  While I adore the entire package, I am absolutely in LOVE with this purple glass button!

Thank you so much cackle!  I absolutely adore my box and can't wait to take it to work to show off in the Costume Shop.  I already have plans for many of the fun little bits hiding inside too!  Thank you for being such a wonderful swap partner!!!

Today I received my matchbox from cadet120433--she turned in into a bed, complete with a little quilt, because I love quilts! So cute!

The first thing I saw when I pulled it open was this cute little cross-stitched piece, with my initial "L", and some things that start with L (ladybug and lily)

When I lifted out the cross-stitch this is what I saw:

I thought, "Oh, nice, she put a cross the box," but when I lifted it out...it was part of the most amazingly sweet little rosary ever!!!

I can't imagine how she made each tiny wire connection so perfectly between the beads--but of course, she is a jewelry maker, so I guess she's had lots of practice!  Monique, you went above and beyond with this little gem, it really is a work of art, and I am so thrilled that you made it for me! It is much more than I ever would have expected.

Here's a picture of everything that was in the box, which also included a pretty glass fish bead, a sunflower button, and some loose beads (perhaps those left over from the rosary?)

Thank you so much for this wonderful little package of goodness!  You are an awesome jewelry maker and an awesome swap partner!!

heres the lovely music match box susanab sent me :]
there was: a gold button with a star fish, a mouse button a bunch of rainbow beads, a duck bead, a silver treble clef, a little metal bird, a  teeny tiny bellbell, a bird button, 2 bigger rainbow beads, and some shell beads.
I have noooo idea how she got it all to close with all that in there, i couldnt get the large duck bead back in for anything, so i turned him into a zipper pull on my ukulele case almost immediately :}
thanks so much, love itt <333

Nostephot created this really cool hexagon pattern, with all sort of different papers. I especially loved the little birds that made an appearance! It was wrapped it a wild batik fabric, but it has already been put to use! Also, there were some bay leaves, from her own garden!! They went lovely in some red sauce...yummmm.  :D

I still cannot get over that theatre box... I think I am now inspired to make a larger scaled similar project... for my "fantasy" mantle ;) and tweak it to look all mystical-like ;)

Also.. I LOVE that crucifix!!! Great job on that! I am thinking that I need to make one of those now, too! That one just looks so pretty!

On another note, I am more nervous than ever about the matchbox I made. I see that it was received yesterday, and I am hoping she likes it.. My tummy has been in knots all day wondering... did it arrive safe and in one piece? did she like it? ahhh the suspense! lol!   :-[

I know what you mean though and I think they would- my sister spotted one that I got in another swap and freaked out over it's tiny awesomeness (thank you Tree27 ;D), my sister-in-law saw the monster that suereal made me and I had to pat her down to make sure she didn't swipe it before she let my house because she wanted it so bad!

I received from amaryllisroze today! She created this tiny steampunk masterpiece for me:

I just love it. She used what I think is an old watch glass (watch face? Dunno what to call that part, but you know what I mean) to make a window in the front of the box. You get a little glimpse of the shrine inside...

This vintage lady adorned with tiny and beautiful watch gears! Isn't the composition just right? Love it.

Thank you so much aroze!

I received both of my matchboxes from StarFire and gozer this week and HOLY CANNOLI!! These girls hit the nail on the head as far as my taste is concerned. I'm feeling pretty spoiled.  :D

I haven't taken pictures of gozer's box yet, but I'll share StarFire's now and finish up with gozer's tomorrow. Prepare to be jealous, folks.

StarFire's matchbox was wrapped in a box with a cute tag and a large amount of this pretty ribbon. This isn't the best picture of it, but it works.

Inside was my matchbox and a tube of sparkly flower-shaped glitter. I forgot to take a picture of the glitter.  :P
The matchbox is seriously adorable, though. I'm in love with these little owls! See for yourself...

Here's a picture of everything stuffed inside!

And finally, here's all of my goodies laid out. (Notice the matchbox's cute interior!)

There's a cute little sock monkey brad (How did you know I love sock monkeys?),
a snake brad (or maybe he's a bookworm, hence the glasses. Either way, he's cute.),
a turtle charm,
a deer charm,
a toadstool bead,
a sparkly green heart bead,
a nest charm,
two wishbone charms,
a magnet with a picture of a birdy and a few mushrooms on it (already on my fridge),
adorable owl earrings (already in my ears),
paper leaves,
four pretty blue beads,
two sparkly paper owls,
three sparkly paper trees (this paper is gorgeous! Like Edward Cullen in the sunlight! ;) ),
and ten pieces of miniature paper artwork, all lovely!

Here are some close-ups for good measure.

I am floored with how fantastic my boxes are. I hope mine measure up!  :-\

Thanks for a wonderful swap, StarFire! I can't wait for you and gozer to get your boxes!

A beautiful art nouveau lady on the outside with a witches hat to reflect the HP theme.  All the sides of the box, inside and outside are covered with that pretty paper.

Owl stamp at the bottom of the box.

All the goodies! House letter inchies, tiny wand, beads, stars and vintage stamps!

Thanks so much crazyalien!  I just <3 it!

Snap, half an hour of posting and the computer went haywire and all is gone.

Second try.

CherryRose and Glamis really understood my hang for feminine, victorian and purdy things.
Cherry send this lovely adorned box.  Note the detail in her decorations.

Contents, buttons, sparkly things, butterflies, a dragonfly, stamps, ribbon and a peg butterfly paperholder.

Yes, Glamis hit the nail on the head as well.  Look inside the box, she embroidered a doggie. I'll probably frame it and make a keychain out of it, a lable.  See the beads and pearls on the box? YES!

sideshot to show the purple glitter and a very nice length of lace, PINK lace.

All moved into the cabinet of pretty things. I love love love it and feel generously spoiled.

Can't rotate this pic but the idea is clear.. it's drop dead gorgeous.
Ladies, many many thanks and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is fantastic.

Hope to use some of the lovelies in future but for now they stay in the cabinet of pretties  :)

Lovely box, Look at those beads!

Super stuffed!

The contents: pretty ribbon with butterflies all over, a bow, butterfly stickers, filigree like butterflies, butterfly charms buttons, more butterflies, sequins round and heart shaped, clay cakes (OMG soo from my wist I squeed),  a charm of a birdcage.
I love every bit and feel very lucky. Thank a lot Glamis!

Bonus because I love it so much!

Here is my lovely matchbox from stove037! She made it out of felt and really did a good job with my forest animal theme.

First the front of the matchbox with a tree and tiny deer!

The back with an embroidered bunny

Contents: deer marble magnet, fabric button, tree earings, and owl charm, and more! Thanks again Stove, I love it!

Yusss I received yesterday from the fabulous KatMonstah and oh my gosh it is amazing, in fact it's going to get two postings.  One here and one in the Day of the Dead swap which I am partaking and I'll show you for why.....

Firstly it came in a teeny tiny pouch, which was stuffed with embroidery threads as packing - amazing.  Then when I opened it, it was wrappend in a little note and then... I squeee-ed, skulls!  My favourite!
Front: Back:
All my goodies - they are all going to get used!

My fav's - teeeny tiny skull beads!  And the smallest book I have ever seeen!  With loads of different pages and pictures including my pin-up girl!

Kat, I can't begin to thank you for the thoughtful-ness and time you have clearly put in to this.  You have been a great swap partner.  Thank you
JPea

I am going to have to steal LauraLynn125 's amazing idea and make one of those hedgehog matchboxes for my Mom. She is an Art teacher at an elementary school and their mascot is a hedgehog. I will make a necklace to put in it and give it to her for Mother's Day. She will love it. Great idea for the matchbox. Too cute!!!!

I got home today and pulled this masterpiece out of the mailbox. Wow! I was drooling over all the amazing octopus matchboxes and now I have my own!!! Yippee!
t33ng1rlsqu4d did an awesome job. It's fantastic!!!!

It's a majestic octopus upon a black textured box with a bone drawer pull.

Here is all the goodies that she somehow managed to stuff into the box. Stickers, beads, buttons, an super cute hand sculpted cat charm for a necklace, google eyes, spider charm, leaf charm, "made with love" charm, and a "Little book of Monsters".

Here is a close up of my favorites. The kitty necklace and the monster book. The monsters are absolutely adorable. I can't believe how lucky I am. Thank you so much t33ng1rlsqu4d! You rock!!!!

I received a lovely box from Jillous today!

A wonderful steampunk suitcase! Complete with leather straps and buckles...so tiny and cute. I love the map covering!

Here's the back, with some lovely gold gears added on. It even has the nubbies for sitting on like a real vintage suitcase :) Jillous said she likes to imagine a tiny me having filled this suitcase with bits from my travels--what a cool idea!

The loot, all packed in nice and tight. Is that white thing what I think it is?!?

IT IS! It's a tiny amigurumi Hedwig right off of my wists but in tiny form! How awesome is that...I can't imagine crocheting that tiny. The drawing pendant is from Kate Beaton's historical webcomic Hark! A Vagrant. I love it, Jillous! It makes me crack up. The crystal pendant and tiny magnifying glass with a teeeeeny gear attached are incredible.

More loot! A cool charm that belonged to Jillous's grandma who was a squaredancer (it looks to me like something to do with the Masons!), a metal scottie dog, and other wonderful shinies. Cloisonne beads--my favorite!!

Inside of the box--you can see the book pages lining and the cool art illustration on the inside of the drawer.

Thanks thanks thanks! I love this little box and everything in it. Congrats on your first swap :)

jmiller614 - WOW - what a technical laboratory was created for you - I don't like biology - that whole cut up the frog thing, but this lab table is awesome - love the little corked beakers - very clever way to send beads!!!  There are some beads in there, aren't there?  ;)

I am sooo glad you like it :) Though, I did totally forget to send the flask that I also filled up with chemical stuffs ;) See how technical I am? LOL! I just hope you like it as much as I like my little sword that you made for me!

I hope nobody minds that I am going to post some more pics here :) Her themes were science and sports... I was afraid when I read the themes.. but, after 2 other attempts.. I came up with this idea :)

I wrapped it all up in a ton of fluffy  eyelash yarn :)
disclaimer: No frogs were injured in the making of this matchbox!

lol nah.. just got some white paper and used my bright as daylight kitchen lights and hoped for the best lol! Craftster makes the pics kind of grainy.. here's a cropped pic on froggy

I was hoping for closer ups! What is the little thingie on the inside side of the sink? I just love the guts, they are so teensy weensy and incredible, just amazing detail.
The "sink" is part of a charm I lucked out on.. I kept part of the finding on it to look like a plug ;) It came from a pack of 3 "Industrial Chic" charm set.. an accent hung in front of the tub part and the whole thing hung vertically. Though, in my crafting fog.. I totally forgot the knobs to turn on the sink.. but I did remember bubbles LOL!

wow.. should not have magnified it THAT much! lol look at my fingerprints :P and my work is totally not without a ton of flaws lol!

I just got my matchbox from Fireartist4Life and I nearly had a heart attack because I was so thrilled!

I told her that I was making a Barbie dollhouse and that I have an orange tabby cat named Firefox. And this is what I got!

It's so epic. My cat even has the belly like her lovely clay kitty does! (Oh, and he loves playing with beads, so he's been going at it like crazy since when I opened it, some of the beads fell on the floo). I love it so very, very much! My favorite of the goodies inside were the little Reniassance pictures because they fit the theme of my dollhouse living room perfectly as wall photos!

Thank you so much Fibreartist4Life!

All the boxes so far have been outstanding! I can hardly keep up with all the awesome pouring in.

I can't believe the size of that crochetted owl, whoa!
And I have to know more about that magnifying glass, did you actually make that?

I think the magnifying glass was from a pirate-themed playmobil set. I just embellished it. And yes, it absolutely does magnify.

I'm so glad you liked everything, hgddm!! [by the way, that talisman coin does come out of the ring, it's probably just a bit stuck].

This arrived a while back but unfortunately I was not here to receive it :D  I was in the middle of tornado cleanup in Central Arkansas and completely forgot about the swap until my husband called me to tell me that a package arrived. Thankfully, I have a very understanding partner and now that I've seen what she sent me... well... she is amazing and I hope she isn't disappointed by what I made her!

Anyway, onto the photos!

this is a picture of the handmade box along with the extras that didn't fit inside. The beads! I LOVE THE BEADS! There is a little bead that looks like corn and I have JUST the project for it!

This is a closeup of the amazingly drawn cover. I am completely in love!

The insides!!! I have no idea how she got all of that to fit! There are 3 twilight guitar picks, a handmade pendant (underneath the skillet, next to the flowers) a wire ring, a stag charm, a strawberry patch, clothespin, cute little skillet, and shiny sequinesque flowers.

Thank you, Strawberryh!!!

Oh. My. Firetrucks!  I recieved this most fabulously awesome box from t33ng1rlsqu4d today.  I can't express how much I am in awe of her work...its just...SQUEE!   I think photos should do the talking (and there are MANY of them):

Behold the mighty awesomness that is Gordon the Goldfish!  Yes, he has a name already!  I name EVERYTHING.  :D

Side view.  I love all the texture she put on the box, on Gordon, and how it looks like he is splashing up from the water.

You pull his tail to see what is inside the drawer!  Squee!  Here is the filled drawer.

The loot all spread out.  So much was inside!

The Loot:

-Bird Silhouette earrings
-Many round buttons and star buttons
-Assorted beads
-Shell
-Pair of google eyes
-Charms = owl, "with love", leaf, tiny fork, and a fish!
-Ladybug button
-Tiny bluejay <3
-Swallow sticker

Thanks sooooo much t33ng1rl!!   I dont feel worthy!   :D

she packed all kinds of  things inside:

Here's everything unpacked:
a teeny bag of seeds (I don't know what they'll grow...she didn't say!),  a big seed that maybe a big bird will get tomorrow morning, a paper ticket, a bright purple pop top, an acorn top, a ladybug pin,a chili pepper (hot stuff!)...thank you so much for taking that theme, dablondeemu!:

Oh, I'm so glad he made it there in one piece! His little fins kept breaking off while I was making him, so I was a bit worried. I think Gordon is a fitting name for the little guy.  :D

These boxes are so awesome. As a biology major, I squee'd over the dissected frog. The hedgehog and the little monster are cute, too. And look at all of the octopi!

Ready for more pictures of another awesome box?

This is the box gozer made for me. The outside of the box is so cute and itty bitty! The thought of making a squirrel that tiny blows my mind. Look at his cute little paws!

Tons of awesome stuff was packed inside.

Two kitty charms
Two butterfly charms
Two owl charms
A really pretty silver magnetic jewelry closure
A key charm
A couple of pin backs
Three cute little bumblebee buttons
A little wooden tree shape
Lots of itty bitty star beads.
Four woodland animal stickers, as well as another on the inside of the box.

I forgot to take a picture of it, but gozer's box was packaged in a little green tin with a cute little tree card and one of those neat fortune teller fish. I had never seen one of these fish before, but I haven't stopped playing with it since it arrived! I'm so easily amused.

Such a cute box, gozer! Thanks so much for making this a great swap.  :D

They really are! Originally gozer's box was the only one with a poly-clay creature on it, but I had so much fun making the octopus that I wanted to make another animal. I'm really glad I did! (I'm also really glad you liked goldfish.)

I'm going to make another goldfish for my own shelf!  ;D

Oh my goodness -- I love that little fish!  And the cat with the aquarium is unbelievable.  What did you use to make the aquarium fiberartist4life?

This really is an amazing gallery.  I keep looking at all the different boxes with amazement!

My daughter, Snazzlecraft found the tiniest storage boxes which knew would be perfect for my project.  She found them in the jewelry secion of Hobby Lobby.  Thank you baby, I love you!

I made the fish from shrinky dink materials, the mermaid was one I had from a bubble gum machine from the 1980's, then I added sand and for the water used Garden Splendor's "Quick water" for silks that I found at Michaels in the Floral Dept. -  By the way - it's not that quick.

I had to add a sealant of Sally Hanson's Hard as nails to finish it off.

I hope to be posting the detailed story of this project on my blog @ squirrlebaitcrafts.blogspot.com this week end.

Thank you for all the positive comments. My art is my therapy LOL.

Well, I am super glad that we were swap partners, I've learned so much and well I loved your box you sent me!
About the dog tag, I've had it for a while now. My ex-boyfriend gave it to me many, many years ago along with a lot of other lute from the Comic Com in San Diego! I'm glad I could give it a proper home!

My oh my, this gallery just gets better and better! SOoooOoo many tiny treasures. and OMG, I cant even believe yet another octopi! Starting to feel like someone needs to start and Octopus swap!? Woooo, or maybe ocean themed?

Here is my matchbox from LauraLynn125

I made that for you!

I still don't know what's going on with my second box I'm supposed to receive, I don't know who is actually supposed to be sending it. Something got botched up.  :-[

I got my matchboxes days ago, but needed to finish a final research paper. Sleep deprived, but totally posting them now!  :D

This super duper lovely match box is from fabricfriend. It's one of those swaps, where shooooot, I wish I could have done better for her. We probably all have those moments!

The fishy pendants are just freaking adorable, and the box is sculpted and painted and awesome (sorry for a less great image)!

This handmade felt matchbox was from my 2nd partner stove037 - and it was apparently made to fit the CALAMAR (no i in it, weirdly enough!) pendant that is crazy silly and awesome. It's hanging on my bulletin board telling me to make a necklace for it soon. Maybe with the fish fabric friend sent me. I think the octopus button is my favorite thing ever from the box.

Thank you guys! You both added to my slowly growing collection of whimsies, which I appreciate so much! And you both sent me some of those swirly metal bits - that were super duper wanted!  :D

How nice is that?!?!?

I really, really love the tiny "pearl of wisdom".  I want to keep it in my wallet.

Thank you SO much...I absolutely love it!!!

I Must say, I looked at the other galleries and this one is by far the best lol. So awesome to drool over look at!

And you have no idea how nicely Stargate anything fits into my home! I seriously need to see about starting a swap for it, or perhaps the new show Sanctuary that all it's actors keep turning up on.

I received from Hgddm (whose lovely art is also the pic for this swap). My camera has died so I do not have the best pictures unfortunately but it is a great steampunkish box with metal sides!

I received from cherryrose!
She made a cute black and red themed matchbox that looks a bit "used" with spiders and paper lace on it:

Here is all the stuff packed:

and laid out:

stamps, buttons, plastic insects, a sweet dragonfly charm, google eyes, a wooden butterfly clip, beads.....

Here is a close up of my favourite, a tiny metal rose and a cool fly:

Thank you for a wounderfull matchbox cherryrose. I will put everything to good use

Wowsers! So much amazingness in this thread!
Some of my faves from the last several pages (that I can remember) are:
the cool talisman charm & magnifying glass that hgddm received
dissection lab that jmiller614 received
and StarFire's goldfish box.
But I know there were lots of other beautiful ones!

I received my awesome lil box from fabricfriend the other day...

here it is looking all cute wrapped up (the paper is a sewing patter)! Note the lil lady bug? He wanted in on the picture too.  ;)

It's a teeny tiny freakshow in a box!

All the pictures are so neat.

And this bonus pic just makes me laugh! My 2 year old sat and waited patiently while I took pics but could only take it for so long before helping herself to the goodies.

Thanks Fabricfriend! And thanks everyone for a fun swap.  :)

Here are a few more detail shots of my box to jessiben:

The arrows on the top spin, and the sides are made of copper plumber's tape, which oddly enough is not tape at all but metal! There are also little rivets in the sides of the drawer.

I recieved a beautiful matchbox from the awesome Sonjaboo:

she combined my love of books, art deco and steampunk into this awsome book.

And the contents:

My favourites (I think) are the bone bead and the arm charm, but I also love the little paper bits and game pieces.

Thanks Sonjaboo! I love my little bookbox!

After superbig issues with the post service and after I thought smallholds package might be lost it appeared magically in front of my apartment door today. (Sorry, the pics are a bit dark)

And it is hilarious! The first look:

(open slowly and carefully Warning! Achtung! Contains fresh brains and entrails Keep refrigerated!)

This came out of it:

a close up of the vampire(?) chicken having a brain picknick. How funny is that?!

and that was inside:

(butterfly) buttons, sequins, charms, pom poms, a big embroidered flower....

a close up of the charms

one with pretty glass beads, a vintage metal key ring (probably my favourite) and a funny dutch clog

and this came out of the card and scared the crap out of me

Thank you smallhold for this amusing and wounderfull package. I am so glad it eventually showed up!

Hurray Glamis, I'm really happy it arrived. It was such fun to make a vampire chicklet (with your love for zombies) and arrange a picnic with brains and entrails.  Those tiny fangs with red stained blood on them gave us quite a chuckle here.
And that wind-up butterfly was supposed  to jolt you really awake after reading the card. It gave me a good shock when I saw it in action  ;D
Weaving the basket was the hardest part. Tie-up package rope that wouldn't stay in place.
I'm happy you like it and the contents.

Hugs

I just got my matchbox from Fireartist4Life and I nearly had a heart attack because I was so thrilled!

I told her that I was making a Barbie dollhouse and that I have an orange tabby cat named Firefox. And this is what I got!

Sweet murphy brown, you are kidding right? can't believe human hands made this and sent it by parcel.
Ought to be in a cabinet in a museum or something. Along with the other matchboxes here.

All of the tiny creations in this gallery are just amazing...I love the little vampire chicken  :D

I've received two amazing matchboxes...with a similar theme...you might be able to tell that I love a certain TV Show starring a timelord traveling around in a big blue box  ;)

So the first matchbox I received was from BoyceMachine...look at the tiny matchbox Tardis (from Doctor Who of course  :D )

Then inside was a charm bracelet and some charms...love them! (especially the pink flower, so pretty!)

Thank you BoyceMachine, it's such a lovely little box, and I love the fact that you spent some time studying a police box in Glasgow to get inspiration!  :D

My second box was from Ralph...and it's another Tardis...which totally made my week (seriously, I can never have too many Doctor Who related items  :D

Here's the outside...

And then inside was a drawing of the 10th Doctor  :)

Then all the goodies inside! Thank you so much Ralph, I had so much fun sorting through all of these...I love my Tardis necklace and all of the charms :)

Thanks again to both of you...this has been such a fun swap to craft for.

I also just wanted to share this...my mini 11th Doctor checking out his new modes of transportation  :D

Okay everybody prepared to be amazed.  I received an amazing piece created by Microjivvy.  You know, I had an inkling, based on several clues dropped by Microjivvy, that my matchbox would be a Day of the Dead matchbox.  but this was so far beyond what I could conceive.  I love it.  It is probably the coolest thing I own.

So onto it.
Here she is.  Isn't she lovely?

But wait!  She wants to show you something!

It's incredible!!!  So here are a few details (in linked thumbnails 'cuz I took SOOO many pics)
(https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=452994) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=452996) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=452995) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=452998) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=452999) (https://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=453000)

Everything about her is incredible; her translucent clothing made of ribbon; her ribs wrapping around the shrine; the papel picado; the offerings; the images of Jesus and the Virgin Mary; the itsy wine bottles and candles; the little sugar skulls; even the hinges get me!

And if that wasn't enough she still had a drawer filled to the brim with treasures!

Can you spot my favourite?  Probably not.

This miniscule fox!

Thank you SOOOO much Microjivvy.  I feel so friggin' LUCKY!!!

Heyo!

USPS says my partner recieved a couple days ago, I hope she won't mind if I post a couple pictures!

Nostephot listed one of her likes as Pride and Prejudice...so I sort of ran with that. I love the romantic idea of writing letters and that was my focus with this matchbox!

This was my first attempt at book carving...and I might have made quite a mess with it. Though after some quick fixes, in the end, it didn't turn out too shabby! Lined the bottom with some felt and painted the sides et voila! Good to go. I included all sorts of random whimsies, there's some in the matchbox too.

I didn't want to waste the matches and I couldn't think of a clever way to store and save them, so I had a go at making my own matchbox. This was the second attempt. It's a tad smaller than your average matchbox, I just couldn't seem to make my lines clean and had to keep trimming! There's a wax seal under the woman, holding the string in place.

And I packaged it all up in an old fashioned way, even with my own initial in the wax seal  :D

I hope you enjoyed it, Nostephot!

Here is my monster mash....I mean match box from Foxy Sam.

Inside he was hiding all this stuff :

My children love it all, the squishy finger monster is very popular, but they are especially looking forward to using the googly eyes on our own projects. There was also a lovely pink origami star, but it didn't make it to the photo session, it's now safely on my monitor!

And, three hand amazing hand crafted monsters:

How cute are they! They are living on top of my monitor now! There is a tiny polemer clay one monster, a crocheted purple people eater (?) and a pom pom monster. And if that wasn't enough look....the monster even has a tongue!

Thank you again Foxy Sam, I'm looking forward to future swapping with you and have greatly enjoyed all our chats!

Oh ho! I am enamoured of a box.............

This is just the packaging, love all that anatomical stuff :)

Inside, more packaging in the form of this beautiful material

On to THE BOX! (This made me giggle because the beads look like little rodent droppings. Happy accident or the work of a genius?)

This box is so ace. Teachart, you did good  ;D
I had put down my likes as DEVO and small mammal anatomy, the two have been very successfully merged. If only rodents did indeed run around wearing wee power domes.

The insides spilled out. Great little ice cream sticker, this is deffo going on my little vestax record player. Lots of great little beads and sequins and buttons. A very cute seed bead ring, a dead good fish pendent. And some excellent inchies to start off my (one day impressively huge) collection.
And to top it all off, this little dinger was waiting at the bottom of the draw  :D

I don't want to be too gushing about this but, Teachart, this was a truly excellent first swap for me. Thank you very very much. Hopefully you will get yours soon and will like it half as much as I love my wee DEVO box.

I'm so glad you like your box FrankSpinello! The bigger box is actually a box of kitchen matches!

The rodent droppings are too funny. I wish I could credit that to my genius, but alas, it was not. That was a result of me trying to cram just a couple of more things into the matchbox  :D

The ice cream cone was from a Garfield colorform set I had in the '80's- anyone remember them? Basically just little plastic pictures that stick to a board by static (or something like that!)

Welcome to the addictive world of swapping! I had a great time swapping with you- maybe we'll be paired up again in the future!!  :D

I received this sweet camera box from nilchihuahua:

Sadly, a bit of really tough glue snuck in between the drawer and the cover, so I mangled the drawer a bit getting it out (but I had to get it to see the pic in the drawer!):

The drawer was filled with a faboo collection of little charms.  My fave is the art nouveau fairy.  I can't get too attached to the arrowhead, because I'm fairly certain Mr. Jivvy will be stealing it.  :D

Thank you, nilchihuahua!

I received the most fabulous box with the most fabulous wrapping from missmlissa:

First, this elephant.  I love love love this elephant and he is definitely NOT going in a craft project for someone else -- he is mine and he is never ever leaving. Not to ruin the suspense, but yes, he's my favorite part of a box where I had many wonderful items to choose a favorite from, lol.

Did I mention that I LOVE him?

The matchbox wrappings also included three layers of a wonderful fibre-y paper (in three different colors) and I'm fairly certain part of it is going to end up in a project I'm working on right now.

And now... the actual box -- a wonderful double-decker curiosity cabinet -- complete with lock and some wonderful old keys (missmlissa was very clever in getting all sorts of "within the rules" supplies attached before I even opened the box, lol):

See that beautiful giant metallic blue bug?  She's a magnet, but that's not all:

Steampunk gloriousity!

The obligatory packed drawer (breathing easier now that it's out of the matchbox, lol):

Before I show you all the unpacked goodies, you have to see the art piece drawer:

That's definitely going into either some sort of display or collage of stuff I love.

All the little goodies.  There's a ton of good stuff packed in here -- wonderful metal buttons, beautiful little blue "mother of pearl" shells (also a likely candidate to go in a project I'm working on right now), beads, gears, wee little tarot cards (!), and more wonderful stuff.

My favorite?  Did I mention the elephant? I LOVE HIM.

Thank you, missmlissa!

Even I will admit that fox is too tiny to be sensible. :D I can't tell you how many times I thought I'd lost him while I was painting him and then setting him aside to dry.

As to the hinges?  Yep, they're in my "way too big, but maybe I'll find a use for them" box.  ;)

I received my beautiful matchbox from CamOovas last week and I'm sorry for not being able to post pictures earlier :)
Here's the cute little birdy in it's nest!

And all the other cool goodies I found inside!

I got some miniatures! Including a teeny weeny dog bone, lemon and lime slices, and the tiniest people I've ever seen (a woman sitting down, a man standing up, and an old man with a cane). She also sent me lots of sea glass and a sea glass pendant, shells, a Scrabble tile with my first initial on it, and a little singing bird (isn't it cute?).

Thank you so much CamOovas!

I lost him when I was taking pictures.  He fell under the fireplace.  I had to employ a flashlight and a pair of tweezers to rescue him.  ;D

And I love the birdie matchbox, so cute.

Finally, here's the wonderful box I got from Killam Creative. Now I'm glad I waited to open it today because I was having a grumpy morning and this made it all better.

Inside the big mailing box was this little package. You just know it's going to be good, don't you?

This handsome fairy gent folds up from the top of the box. The little arrow turns to keep him upright. (The larger dial also turns, which is very cool.) The outside of the box is covered in the same Japanese washi paper as the tag on the outer package.

I love the fact that what I sent Susan includes a few things very similar to things she sent me! Clockwise from the matchbox gears:

  • 2 very interesting safety pins
  • a 3-D clock inchie (adhesive-backed)
  • a length of beautiful antique lace trim
  • a pair of + and - magnets (had to separate them for safety) ;)
  • a copper wire spiral
  • a lovely antique brass key
  • a pocket watch charm
  • a tiny laminated butterfly
  • 2 stamps, one with an airship and a walrus :D
  • 2 little gilded leaf skeletons (my favourite out of the whole box!)
  • 2 gears (one is weighting down the leaves)

Thanks so much for this. The box is immediately going on display, and I'll make very good use of all the contents.

Wulf

Wulf, good thing you had the sense to separate those magnets. Things could have gotten ugly.  :D

I am so excited you don't even know xD I didn't feel good but stayed up til 5am working on a chainmaille present for my boyfriend and I knew it was the right time, today he has been extra depressed, and while it won't fix his problems, it'll cheer him up. So anyways, I woke up still feeling kinda bleh at about 1pm and dragged myself out of bed. As I walked through the family room I tiredly started at my kitchen, where I saw a brown box on the counter. I ran to the kitchen, grabbed it excitedly, tried to make a mad dash for my room, got stopped by my mom, I stared at her confusedly and she said she didn't feel well so she stayed home from work today, we lightly chatted, then I successfully ran into my room and I opened the box to see the epicness of two swaps. I started with the matchbox swap, and was greeted by the most amazing matchbox ever!!! Wolf is a freaking mind reader!!!! I have a huuuuge obsession with the Sex Pistols, especially right now <3

I saw this and freaked out excitedly. I had a feeling I knew what the other side would hold and yes indeed....

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!! This is my all-time favorite Sex Pistols song with Sex and Violence in a close second and Anarchy in the UK as the 3rd. I've had this song stuck in my head and I've been singing it nonstop for like a week or two now xD

Both sides read "No future"

Epic swag <3

Picture of Diana at a dinning room

Thank you so much Wulf! You made my day <3

Thank you, Foxy Sam, for posting the pictures of the box you sent me! I love it so much, and the "wrapping" you sent it in. I'll borrow my boyfriend's camera to photograph it and the crocheted cat, too! Thank you so much for being such a great swap partner!

Sorry it took so long for me to post these pictures.  I have been working A LOT!

I was so excited when I opened up my package from haroldlovesmaude I actually squealed. This was such a cool creation.

The first is the "packaging" she made an origami box for me rather than decorating the original Japanese boxes . . .

I found not one, but TWO authentic Japanese matchboxes that she chose to share with me from her personal collection . . . cool huh?  (front side)

back side

notice she stuffed this to the gills . . .

So many amazing and fun things - girl scout wings, beautiful beads, totally amazing buttons, sumptuous stamps, a key to a secret thing, a clock face that will be transformed into another purpose, an adorable bottle and a bottle that will hold something precious.

Thanks again haroldloves maude for being such a great partner.

Get ready for the Greatness that is a Wulf Matchbox!

This is the most incredible little leather suitcase I've ever seen! Wulf, the details are great and I appreciate every second you put into the construction. I wanted to include *all* of the photos I've taken of it's tiny little details but decided to spare everyone my obsession. Here are the highlights!

All wrapped up with a fantastic vintage postcard:

The front of the Niagara Falls, Canada postcard. I don't know the age of the post card, but it was printed when the mailing cost was 1!:

Here's a close up of the front straps:

Inside, packed tight:

Wulf, I can't believe you fit all this into that tiny suitcase!

Beautifully colored insect stamps from Chad
A filigree butterfly
Large pink plastic discs including fun light pink iridescent ones!
A copper washer
6 disc-shaped beads
Loads of little seed beads in reds and oranges, plus a rogue silver one
A puffy skellie sticker and a skellie bead
Vintage pins - a flourish, yummy rhinestone flowers and an awesome velvet and rose hat
5 little white vintage buttons and a hefty, light grey button that might be metal
4 gold tone connectors - 2 fancy swirly and 2 that remind me of double-ended nooses
A red ladybug bead that will be hoarded forever
A purple and black ladybug earring that makes me rethink all the lonely bits and pieces in my jewelry box - snip off the posts et voila, a fabby little embellishement!
2 round brass brads
Teeny tiny heart and key charms
A metal leaf-shaped charm in a cool blue patina that will also go into the Permanent Hoarding Collection
Wee blue and green cabochons that might find their way on a project I'm working on right now
A silver buckle that is so small but looks giant-sized compared to the buckles on the suitcase
A silver (sterling, I think) and purple charm that probably lived a former life as an earring
A little plastic ant (squee!)
A brilliant old label from a chain spool
9 delicious inches of vintage lace
And the best of the bunch - a beautiful blue vintage rhinestone that stopped me in my tracks - LOVELOVELOVE this!

Inside, using the beautiful butterfly to hold the lid open:

Here's a view of the strapping in the back, and another great view of the teeny tiny stickers!

Wulf, thank you, thank you, thank you! I will treasure it always.

Cheers,
Susan

Here are some photos of the matchbox I sent Jillous:

Pretty sure this book is by the same witch or wizard who wrote The Invisible Book of Invisibility. ;)

Luna's blingy rabbit, Helga Hufflepuff's cup, and a potion flask for tiny potions.

A flying key and a pair of Hufflepuff House studs.

There were some other odds'n'ends and Hufflepuff-color beads in there. Can you tell Jillous likes Harry Potter? :)

Wulf!  Look at that wee little suitcase with all those wee little details!

And I know how hard it is to make leather behave well (ie, "look the right scale") and you did a beautiful job (from the wee little buckles to the wee little punched holes to the wee little corner pieces).

Wow everybody amazing stuff! I love those Japanese matchboxes- so pretty!

My turn to share!! I received this AMAZING package from FrankSpinello yesterday- She's a first time swapper, but man is she pro! She must have done some thoughtful stalking (never thought I'd say those things together) because she managed to cram in so many things I like!

Now some pics! (I actually took a lot more- the box was so awesome but I don't want everyone's computer to crash so I'll post a few:)

the amazing boxes- who among us doesn't love a freak show!

Some of the goodies! Tons of beads and stuff, pendents, a two headed snake inspired by Lavern and Shirley's two headed king snake of the Venice Beach Freak Show (I can't believe I haven't seen that episode, Laverne and Shirley rock!) and a cute little sad ghost charm inspired by my favorite artist Marcel Dzama (http://www.richardhellergallery.com/dynamic/artist.asp?ArtistID=3)

Amazing Tim and Eric tiny magnets

A closeup of the other box (oops there were two boxes :)

Again Dzama inspired- don't you just love that tiny fish bone? I need to find the perfect project for it!

And the inside- tiny book, my first! A spotter's guide to Britain's  hybrid animals!

Thank you so much again for a fantastic swap FrankSpinello! I had a blast!

I am relieved and impressed that the freakshow didn't get bent. I didn't pack it particularly well. You got me, I did do some stalking. I must thank you, Teachart, for introducing me to Marcel Dzama!
So glad you like your parcel. I had to send both of the boxes, I made the Marcel Dzama box first and then the inspiration just hit me for the freakshow. So I had to make that one too. Then couldn't decide between them.
Thank you again for being such a great partner Teachart. I officially LOVE swapping.

Also,

The flippin' boxes in this gallery!

Too good!

Received from Cinnamoon today ;D Lots of cuteness! No sooner had I snapped some pics than the earrings went into my ears where they have stayed for the 6 hours since then:P
Here is a pic of the pretty box with adorable teeny button flowers on it, plus all the innards.

Here is a closer pic of the contents!

My faves are the earrings, the beautiful tree (which may end up as an ornament in one of my 1/12 scale dollhouse rooms), and the glass birdhouse bead. Although that sticker is pretty darned cute too, and so is the bone charm, and the crayon button... Obviously I love everything!
Thanks for a fun swap Cinnamoon :)

I just think it's very funny that at least three of us had the same idea of turning the matchbox into a suitcase! Mine came when someone commented that an early box in the Gallery (can't remember which one) reminded her of the inside of an antique suitcase. And that reminded me that I have a piece of art deco lining paper from a 1930's trunk that I've hoarding. (It's the paper lining the matchbox suitcase.) The rest just followed from what materials were available in my stash.

My new favourites in this Gallery (and it changes with each new page!) are the Japanese ones. Swap Envy! :P  And thanks Teachart for introducing us to Marcel Dzama. How can I have missed him?

And never mind a matchbox suitcase swap, how about a tiny book swap?

Wulf

Thank you soooo much hgddm for uploading fabulous photos of my even-more-fabulous and incredibly tiny bookbox!! I accidentally packed my camera cord, and have only now unearthed it... so now, more pictures  ;D

My Hufflepuff-themed matchbox... Diminutive Book of Diminutivity

Imagine my surprise when I opened my book and a KEY flew out!

Shiny beautiful everything, packed away so neatly (the key needed to stretch its wings after being cramped up for so long)

A Hufflepuff treasure trove! House pride earrings, Luna's shimmering patronus pin, and my very own Helga Hufflepuff golden cup (I'd always imagined it as a teacup!)

Everything together with my note from hgddm. This was a lovely first swap for me, and so much fun!

Every time I look at this gallery, I fall more and more in love with tiny! SO many wonderful ideas! Your suitcase was so exceptionally good, Wulf.

And jillous, I'm so jealous of Luna's patronus pin!

Noooo---please oh please another round One Tiny Book!  that was soooo much fun!!!

on an organizer note, i've gotten a little behind (ah life, it sometimes gets in the way of fun stuff!) so if you could take a look at the front page of the gallery and see if i've got your status color coded correctly, and let me know if it isn't, that would be much appreciated!
also, if you are in tlk's group, she has been a busy busy girl and is working her way through updating things on her end as well!

great swap everyone, such a fantastic group of artists :)

I rec'v the most awesome matchbox from meowari about a week ago (?) and, as has been the pattern lately with me, am late on posting the pics.

The most ironic thing about this matchbox to me is that I was literally thinking to myself (as I was opening this package), "I never get any Day of the Dead stuff anymore in swaps. I need to add more to my wists. I should find a Day of the Dead swap to join...."

And then I opened this!!

Here are all my goodies! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mexican Lotera cards!! Its a new thing to add to my collection that I have been wanting for a while now!

Truly everything is a favorite but these two things I was especially excited about:

Check out the "drawer liner"!! Its so cool!

Thanks soooooo much meowari for the most amazing new addition to my Day of the Dead collection. I hope my pictures do this little piece of art justice....it is so detailed and beautifully painted. I just adore it.

My partner haroldlovesmaude is in the middle of moving. I volunteered to post pics for her, if she needed, of the matchbox I sent and she asked if I would.  So here goes.

This matchbox was inspired by her WIST and her love for Kentucky. These first two images are straight from her WIST.

She wanted a 3D piece of art to display and this was what I came up with.

Each of the images I chose were hand drawn then painted on the sides of the "block house" I created from card stock.  I chose the banjo because of her love of bluegrass music and stuck with the replication of the images from the houses on her wist.  The houses looked like they were crafted from wood then stamped so I reproduced that feeling as best I could with paint.

This is the drawer filled to the brim.

The contents contained several shrinky dinks that I personalized for her based upon her wists, our messages and some sneaky detective work on my part.  They include a Cardinal (state bird of Ky), a guitar, a LP, music note and I added my squirrelbaitcrafts (from my blog) image. I also made her a mustache because everyone could use a nice mustache.  I also included a camera stamp (she loves photography), and some teensie buttons and then one that looks like a sewing machine. There are some stamps and other bits and bobs.

I lined the drawer with a map of Kentucky as she mentioned she loves maps.

and ALL these goodies.

Close-up of my favourites: beautiful earrings, Sin City stickers, flamingo stickers and teeny bunny (take that teeny fox!)

Thanks Sylvanna! I love it all!

Thanks.  It was a LOT of work.  I had to construct the outer shell (my daughter Snazzlecraft was my support team on that) then drew the images and hand painted everything.  I ended up cutting styrafoam and the flat sheets of craft foam to support the inside structure.

I have just started doing shrinky dinks and had a blast coming up with those.  Again thank you sincerely.

I got so lucky with both of my partners! I think books and music are the only things (besides crafting, of course) that keep me sane in this word, and I got a little representation of them both in this swap!
Here's what I got in the mail today from snazzlecraft (I seriously think my BF is going to try to steal it from me tonight when he sees it):
The outside

Why, yes, the top does open up

Group shot of everything she stuffed in the drawer

Here's a closeup of the <3 Dolly Parton <3 album sleeve she made for me

Thanks again, snazzlecraft for such an amazing matchbox, it was sooo worth the wait!
*Feel free to post better pictures if you have them- the lighting in my apartment is crap & doesn't do your stuff justice!

That record player is awesome - sorry, I'm being redundant of other posts, but my gosh, I can't think of words worthy to describe this matchbox!!!  This would have been so-o cool in the 50s swap - geeze, what can't you clever people make out of a little bitty matchbox!!! :o  Hitting THIS ROCKS for sure - in more ways than one! :D

I got the cutest bird matchbox from ChristieAnn! Sorry the pictures aren't too great, but I like how you can see the notes on the bird! The heart beads spell out "TWEET" I like the way it looks on top of the shredded paper, just like a little nest!

The contents are AWESOME! I love the Paul Frank sticker of Julius on a scooter (there were actually 2 of them), the paw print brads (there were 4 of them), the birdy stickers, the amazing bone skull beads, and the little skeleton guy.

Thanks again ChristieAnn! Sorry it took a while to get these pics posted!

Here's the lovely little box she made:

The flower on top is a pin too!

And the goods inside:

butterfly pendant, little bells, stamps, flattened penny with I think a Lion King animal on it (oops it's upside down)

Thank you so much onecrazymom! What a fun swap!

I received my matchbox from Snazzlecraft yesterday. prepare for more swap envy. :) It's awesome. I love it.

She decided to go with a garden them and made the little flowers that you see on it. I can't imagine cutting tissue paper that small. Here's a pick of the box sat on a rock in my garden. Snazzlecraft said that she had seen in my profile about starting my garden and decided to craft the matchbox as if it were lifted out of a garden thus the brown around hte edges and cork underneath.

here's a pic of all the lovely awesome contents.

there are some postage stamp style stickers, beads, brads, and cute little bee and ladybug stickers.

Thanks sooooo much for an awesome package!

Snazzlecraft has a real knack for miniatures! When I saw that garden I had a flashback from when I was little and went to N.A.M.E. (National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts) meetings with my mom. I thought the things the women made there were so magical... Maybe I'll see if there's a chapter here in Boston- working on these matchboxes and seeing everyone's wonderful creations has inspired me to try my hand at it again!

Tho I managed to miss the sign up, teachart asked me if I wanted to swap anyway.  Said yes of course. And thelastkodama said we could post here.  I finally got my package from teachart, so here is said photo.

OCTOLADY!!!  Her eyes are tiny bits of mirror.  And it was stuffed with all kinds of itty bitty coolness.  From the tiny plastic girl (who Octolady keeps trying to eat), to death in the boat (like jack in the box?), everything is just perfect for me.

Thanks a bunch teachart...and thelastkodama for letting us play along ;D

oo and here is a link to the whole cool package she sent...

Um, a Charon charm? It's not surprising that you like it, Susi, only that you don't already have one and that somebody else did! Inserting mirrored eyes into those doll heads is absolutely diabolical. That goes on my to-do list for sure.

back of the box- great art nouveau print!

my favorite is the TINY LITTLE matches from Amsterdam, tiny little old pins, and foreign stamps!  What wonderful treasures!! Thank you!

And for some reason my photos from prettyhatemachine haven't come through, so I am going to try to download them and post later...I'm sorry!!

Here is the beautiful box I received from Amaryllisroze:

I really love that shade of blue/teal. It is close to the top of my list of favourite colours:)
When I opened the package I was surprised at the weight but I found out why it was so heavy.
ALL the goodies inside were metal! Lots of great stuff:

It is hard to say which were my favourites but some definite highlights are the roses, the "Family" clip and the watch face/gears.
Thanks so much!

Unfortunately my partner has gone MIA. Luckily I snapped two quick pictures before I mailed off her matchbox a month ago and I finally, FINALLY got them off my camera tonight! Had to buy a new card reader because our house ate the old one. My little matchbox feels so humble next to all the awesome boxes that have already been posted.

I used a cute bird patterned scrapbook paper to create the matchbox base. My partner is in to nature stuff and bird houses so that is the theme I went with. The birdhouse is cut from cloth I dyed with Easter egg dye. I added some needlepoint detail to give the birdhouse a bit more interest.

I don't have a pic of all the items laid out, just the drawer already stuffed. Inside the drawer were a handmade butterfly pendant, an opalescent heart stone, a mini wheelbarrow, some beads, some buttons, a scrabble tile, and a red jewel pendant among other things.

I received from TCMatteson this weekend.  She had some personal issues that necessitated a late mailing unfortunately but I think my beautiful box was worth the wait!

I gave her the rather broad theme of nature and she made me a box topped with a gorgeous wire and bead Tree of Life!
With all the goodies (http://s1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc406/calixita/swaps/?action=view&current=DSCN0382-1.jpg)
lovely inchies, flower beads, tiny buttons, a little bottle of dried wildflowers, a sweet butterfly clasp
And Earrings!!
The jellyfish are straight off my wists.  I think they're my favorite!!
I also got a simply yummy smelling soap as an extra!
Thank you, TC!!!!  I love the box and I'm wearing the jellyfish earring as I type!

Amaryllisroze received from me a while ago but hasn't been able to post pics so she told me to go ahead and put up a couple.
In my stalking I noticed a few themes so I went with 2 of them- Day of the Dead and Birds.
This lead to my first attempt at papel picado:

A couple shrinky dinks:

This one has no hole in it because it is too small but I figured she could glue it to something:P
And finally the matchbox itself all filled up:

It was a lot of fun coming up with ideas:)

Great matchboxes everyone! The tree of life and birdhouse boxes are fantastic! ;D

I sent this box along to the lastkodama a few weeks ago -- she has been busy, so I thought I'd post a pic! I didn't get a shot of the contents (of course) but here's the outside -- I had a lot of fun making it!

The box is covered with paper clay and moss -- the mushrooms and snail are also paperclay.  The acorn cap is an acorn cap. ;D

I received from TCMatteson last week and have been horrible about posting pics, but it is an amazing package!

She made a little tiny house!  The little crochet blanket it's sitting on is a dollhouse sized blanket :)

And as an extra, sent some awesome homemade soap that smells wonderful!

And the inside of the box:

An adorable house pendant :)

And a secret compartment 1:12 scale book:

Tiny tools!! Where did you find these?!?

And finally a spring wreath!

Hi all!
Apparently the package I sent to Cinnamoon has been lost in the mail:(
I am going to send her another but in the meantime here are a couple pics of what I sent that never made it there.
The filled box:

The weird looking bundle in the bottom is a packet of lime green glass beads that she said on her profile she was looking for.
And here are some shrinks I made her. There are a couple of mythology-themed ones because she posted a goddess poppet she made, a monogram of her initial, and a stylized flower. (The sugar skull and bird were actually made for my other partner.)

I don't have photos of the rest of the contents.

I received! My original partner flaked on me and I was super, super luck to have mingus107 step in as my swap angel. Eeeeeeeeeeeee! I am so, so spoiled! Just look at this gorgeous thing:

A miniature leather book! It's so adorably cute and wee and perfect. Ahhh but wait, what is hiding inside that little book?

It's a magic book! Wahoooo! It's got the sweetest little HP/magic themed miniatures inside the little compartments: a crystal ball, scroll, candle with it's stand, magic amulet, and a magic book with arcane symbols. So. Darn. Cool!

Close up of the miniatures out of their box.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the minibook matchbox! It's so well made and utterly perfect for me. Thank you Mingus for turning a potentially awful swap experience into something completely wonderful!
