Ohh I would like to do this swap. I'm fairly new and have never participated in one before, but I've been looking through the past ones and they look like an absolute blast. I got a new sewing machine for Christmas and I'm just itching to get crafting. :)

Is there somewhere I can find the swap guide, or is it just this post itself?

I just sent in my questionnaire. I've been away from swapping for a while because I got so busy with other things, but I am really excited to get back into it. I love hot drinks and soup. And I love all the warm stuff we get to wear in the winter. Luckily we are having some cold weather here in Louisiana. So, I don't feel silly walking around in hats and scarves and sweaters. Its still not cold enough to warrant wearing a coat most days, but I can warmly accessorize ;)

Do you like that magazine?  I just let my two subscriptions to Cloth Paper and Quilting Arts expire because I never really made anything from them and each issue was beginning to look the same to me...

I would love to get some sort of magazine to look forward to...I love getting mail! :D

alwaysinmyroom...I don't have a subscription-I just scan them every now and again to see if it's worth getting once in awhile.  It had some little girl, tween girl and big girl items and a few things for guys(nothing memorable).  It was worth it and teasing DH about making a 'granpa sweater' to go w/his new status!!  harharhar!!

My profile reflects my participation in this swap...* ;D*

yeah--that is the one bad thing about subscribing...not every issue has anything I would make...I might just go back to quickly scanning at the store to see if at least one project catches my eye!

Swaps like this is a great way to destash...or get special yarn---both of which I love!

You can also add this swap to your signature and find it really quickly :D

I'll be happy w/any of the beverage choice that gets sent to me.  It is a bit of a drive to get locally roasted coffee, etc.  So I usually get this or that from the grocery store!  I'll be MaKiNg the drive to supply my partner w/requested beverage choice.. ;D  And a little for meeeee!  ;)
I have to get my empty tin of herbal tea...and figure out where I got it at.  It was good!

I am hoping we can match people up based on who wants what and who wants to send locally, but I am guessing with allergens/allergies and international that it will really have to be up to partners to discuss what they are wanting. I will be sending coffee from a local roastery (unless my partner hates coffee, in which case I will drink it myself  ;D) that I absolutely love.

Dagnabit, I am getting over a virus right now and craving warm soothing liquids, so I got suckered in.  I also tossed in a dozen instant soups and ramen noodle packages into the cart when getting groceries after the visit to the doctor's office today too.  If DH were to go upstairs and brew me a tea right now, I would be his slave.....

I *hope* I get someone who can knit - I lost my slouchy beanie while on vacation :*(

I would also settle for a Ravenclaw scarf - I was going to buy on from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter but the park was sold out (went through 410,000 of them in 3 days).

Can't wait to get started!

Anyone interested in roasting their own beans.  Just wondering, as I have a few sources for green coffee beans in my area too.  Or for other fresh flavouring agents, like vanilla pods - hmmmmmmm vanilla hot chocolate.  Though I do hope I get a tea lover as I have some excellent tea shops in my city that I love that have exceptionally yummy loose leaf teas!

Sounds good!  I am also planning on sending coffee from a local bakery/coffee shop.  But I will be happy no matter what.  You can't go wrong with coffee, really!

I am so intrigued by the roasting your own beans, but also a little intimidated.  Although I feel like I can almost smell some beans roasting with vanilla pods right now....

I am anxious to get back to my favorite yarn store but I was also thinking of sewing items to keep a buddy warm!!

I have been spending a lot of time knitting and crocheting so I might have to see if I can also sew a few things!

I have not done a swap like this in so long...I hope I don't get addicted... :D

I would really like to send to someone outside of Canada if I can. I love sending to the US. I'm not a coffee drinker but I'd be more than happy to send to one. I just won't be able to vouch for the yumminess of said coffee. ;)

Lets not forget mulled ciders - Second Cup taught me to love mulled cranberry cider.  For those of age too, mulled cranberry cider with cinnamon whiskey - yum!

I'm going to be mulling some cider today!  And I remember living less than 2 hours from Hershey, but only went once (for a Bears game with my brother's boyscouts).  Shame on me!
I've got a wonderful local tea shop nearby, plus local roasters.  I'm so excited!

Second Cup is a Canadian coffee company, like Starbucks, and it was a powdered drink mix they had.  I think I have tried the homemade version - just cranberry cocktail with mulling spices (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, etc).  I did it in a pot on the stove, but it would be great in a big batch in the crockpot.  I prefer the whole spices in cheesecloth so that the end result is not as cloudy as with ground spices.  As for the whisky, Dr. McGillicuddy used to make a brand of cinnamon whisky called Fireball that was AWESOME mixed into the cider (or as a shot).  I will have to see if they still sell it in the liquor stores.  Otherwise it could easily be replaced by cinnamon schnapps.  Hmmmmmm - makes me all warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it.

It is in a new book I treated myself to over Christmas - called One Yard Wonders by Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins.  My personal goal this year is to improve my sewing skills and I liked the variety of projects in the book and patterns are included as well.  It is just a simple pack with ties so you can wrap it around your waist and secure it so the pack sits nicely at the small of your back.  Great for those low back pain days.  Itis filled with rice or flax seeds and can be used hot or cold.  I guess you could use millet or other small seeds too.  Even the simple and basically functional things in life can be beautiful though!

Sometimes when I am trying to sleep in a cold winter's day after working nights, I like to heat up a hot pack and stick it in the bed with me.  Ginger, my other dog, and I sort of like to share the heat.

How do you like the book, Onyxnox? I've had that on my Amazon wishlist for a while and got a gift card for Christmas...I was wondering if it was worth it, or if I should hoard my gift card for something else? :)

It is part of my resolution to improve my sewing skills.  I like that it has such a variety of projects - from organizers, and other household items, to some cute bags, to clothes, stuff for pets, and toys - nice variety.  There are quite a number of items in there I have marked out to make, including the clothespin apron, the ruffled apron, the heat wrap, and one or two of the purses/totes.  I would say that it was a good purchase for me!

Oh i totally forgot about adding a heating pad to my list  :P  If I had lower back pain the obi heat belt would be awesome but unfortunately I have more embarrassing pain in my errr...chest area...when I get too cold, it's become a running joke among the women in my family unfortunately.
Hmm, booby heating pads lol!

My dad has been making me his own version of Starbucks London Fog, and it's so comforting on cold days.  It's earl gray tea with a shot of sugarfree vanilla syrup and little bit of warm milk.  I'm actually drinking it right now!

I think the book One Yard Wonders is a great go-to book for quick gifts and it really is nice that most of the projects are practical and fairly easy for the beginners and yet for more advanced seamstresses, you can really add your own touches...I recommend it as well and usually have a couple of copies on hand for swaps and for my students! :D

jadeye--you should see about getting a shoulder wrap/cowl in this swap!  I love mine because it does keep your chest and shoulders warm without drawing attention...amazing what a little yarn goodness can do to keep us warm...brrrr...freaking 20 degrees today...I hate winter!

Ok, so!  Since I like to do these sorts of swaps and receive these sorts of goodies above allll else, I've accumulated lots of "cozy" goods on my wist.  So, I sorted them all under one tag.  It's got scarves, hats, gloves, wraps, wrist warmers, slippers, etc.  I'm also going to add a few more mug cozies and such.  Here's the direct link for anyone who might want to spruce up their own wist, or for my partner to look at if they want to before I get back from vacation.

Yes, although as I understand it the pound of ____ will not count towards the points, just the crafted items will.  So, you could have a 1 point coffee cuff & a 3 point scarf, or a 2 point tea cosy & a 2 point cowl... just as examples  ;)

are we supposed to have a total of 4 points in each of the three categories?

Murbeck has it right. The 4 points applies only to the crafted items (so not the hot drink) and should be the total points for the other two categories (hot drink accessory and worn accessory)

Whew! 42 swappers..... Keep those applications coming!

This swap appears to be where all the popular people are!  ;D :-*

On a side note...I stopped somewhere to go shopping this afternoon after work.  When I got there, I was like:  "Oh, this would be cool for the swap, and this, and this, and this...."  Between this swap and another I am in, I spent almost $30!  ::)

yea, I saw some sewn slippers that would be great for this swap that had coffee mugs on the top, and had tulle sewn onto it looking like steam coming from the coffee cup.  It was done on an embroidery machine and that I don't have.  If I were to try it on my regular machine...I'm sure it wouldn't look like it did in the pic.   ;D

I'm not an experienced yarn crafter. I would love anything handmade!! With all the creativity I've seen on this site, I doubt anyone could be disappointed! But you've made a great point. I will just have to add more things my wist!!! Oh darn! Haha!

I think that you can get the 'feel' of yarn with your sewing, just by using the right materials - like using a material with a weave to it like boucle or by upcycling sweaters and using them as is or felting them.  There's also a lot of great scarf, hat, and even fingerless glove patterns that are sewn.

I think this swap is great because you can do a variety of things!  While I love to knit and crochet, I do not do a lot of it for myself...and I definitely do not sew much for myself! :D

I am just happy to get something new and fresh to keep me warm...mmmm today is Kona day...my hubby sets up the coffee maker for me each night with a surprise coffee...after 32 years, I guess he kind of knows what I will like the next day (it snowed overnight--BLECH!)...

Nice cowl!

MistressT made an awesome sewn scarf...I also like the cut-up sweater bomber hats I have been seeing...and I think they can be made of flannel or fleece as well...what about those fabulous sewn felted sweater mittens and hats...a nice warm vest of great fabric and fake fur?

So many things to sew as well as to knit or crochet...we have so many great possibilities in this swap! :D

Whew! I'm glad not everyone is a knitter/crocheter or expecting fancy knitted items!  I am only a beginner knitter and have only knitted basic scarves so I hope my partner doesn't request a cable knitted shawl or something! lol :)   I do think it would be fun if I can branch out though and try something other than the garter or purl stitch scarf!! This is exciting!!

Thanks Kittymom!! I loved your scarf and it combines two stitches I know! I'll have to figure out how to double up the yarn.  I have a scarf that a friend made me that even my boyfriend borrows sometimes where she doubled up the yarn.  It is so very warm and cozy!  Thanks again!

I know what you mean  :(
Our power on the 220 keeps going out, and it's 18degrees outside with no heat, not stove, and not hot water...our landlord blames ComEd and ComEd blames our landlord.  My husband finally had to have a 3 way phone conference to get everything straightened out, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that everything works consistently now

Woohoo partners!

Hello partner!! *waving to KimmyLynne82* you have been stalked - love your posts, great photography and i feel inspired!!! (that's never really been an indicator or a guarantee, but i still hope the inspiration produces something you'll like!)

My day is starting out great - it's my only daughter's 20th birthday (my only child, so was feeling a bit nostalgic and a little sad earlier because she lives in another city, but thinking about her makes me so happy and proud the person she's bromine/becoming), just had the best cappuccino at home in my "un"-pajamas (ahem), and about to go on a bike ride through my favorite city with my husband (I love riding my bike and have been trying to convince my husband to get one the last couple of years - then, we moved to a super bike friendly town and while we work from home most of the time, last November he worked downtown and saw all the commuters ... i think all the bikers on the road finally got to him and he ended up buying a super nice one last night and were taking it out on it's maiden voyage!).... Hmmm maybe the coffee is getting to me now... I think this may be my longest craftster post ever! Anyways...

Happy crafting, swappers!

*waves* HELLLLOOOOO!!! :)

I hope I've given you enough to work with - I tend to go overboard when listings likes and dislikes - I've been accused of providing too much information at times (and not in an "Eewww...TMI!" way!) :)

I've been stalking since I got the PM last night...I hope to get started on Wednesday after a trip to the loverly local store, aptly named "Our Daily Brew." They have the most delicious coffee and teas I've ever had :)

Oh, and happy birthday to your daughter - and have a great bike ride!!

I got partnered with blushingbluegrass :) I've been sipping on some hot chai lattes all afternoon, stalking and brainstorming. Its really cold and rainy here today... Probably the coldest it has been in two or three weeks.

I've got a couple of ideas I'm kicking around. So, I'll be getting the details hammered out on those this week. I'm looking forward to getting started!

Hooray for partners! :) I've been scoping out my partner a bit and she has been warned there will be questions! ;) I had a bit of a drive today and I was making a mental list of things I could do for Dra. It's a pretty big and ever growing list apparently. lol It's going to be hard to marrow it down.

Picked up some supplies yesterday, but now I'm rethinking. Miss Barbara, I know we got paired because you're a yarnie and I'm a sewist, but how do you feel about receiving yarn crafts? If you prefer, I have an idea (and supplies in my stash) for a sewn project...

I'm hoping to finish up a swap this week on the days that DD will go visiting at her dad's, and get started on Miss B's package as well!

Title: Re: Keep Me Warm Swap (signups CLOSED sendout 2/5/10)

I found a pattern that I want to make for the worn accessory. So, all I need to do is find just the right yarn. The hot drink will take me a little time to find just the right one. The hot drink accessory... I'm still debating on a couple of ideas.

On a side note, I ordered a glass beadmaking kit and it came in today. I have to go to Lowes and get some gas for the torch, and probably Hobby Lobby for some more glass since it didn't come with much. But, it will be warm and toasty to work with a blow torch since its so cold outside right now... lol. My mom and my husband keep repeated asking me if I have a fire extinguisher when I talk about it... haha. I don't think they trust me with fire. But, they should know by now that I'm uber-safe when it comes to crafts. And, yes, I have a fire extinguisher at the ready... Just in case ;)

I have to tell you, dharma_rebel, that I didn't think I would enjoy receiving yarnie items when I joined Craftster.  However, I've been in a few swaps where I did receive items that were crocheted or knit, and I LOVED THEM!  Either, one, b/c I couldn't do something that complicated myself (as in the scarf I received TODAY from the scarf swap), or I just wouldn't make it for myself (which is the usual, I think, for all of us, no matter what craft we do!).  So my answer to you is, do what you think I would like best, and I am sure I would LOVE it!

I just finished up my third and final claim for the birthday swap, and can now start on items for this swap.  YES!  I have three crafted items planned, and checked to make sure I have all needed supplies on hand in case we do get the BIG snowstorm everyone is talking about.  I think I'm good....you should have seen me a few minutes ago, surrounded by yarn balls big and small...I looked like a VERY overproductive chicken sitting in a nest!  ::)

I've been stalking my partner, a bit. The questionaire was most helpful.  :)
I'm going to have to frog the item I've been working on as a proto-type...that's ok...I wasn't in to it anyways.  Different yarn, different time...it'll work out!  Yay!  I've got a new project in mind and would love to go to town and find the perfect yarn...that may need to wait for a day or two.  I've got a few pressing issues to get to before hand.
LOL...Miss Barbara...I looked like a VERY overproductive chicken sitting in a nest!
I've soo been there!  :D

Okay, good. The pattern I'm using is an "intermediate" pattern, and I'm not sure I'm an intermediate knitter. So, we'll see how it goes. I'll probably make the other as a backup/extra...

dharma_rebel - funny you say that because i was wondering recently what level of knitter i am and have come to the conclusion that i'm all of the above. there are some advanced techniques that i feel very comfortable doing and some beginner techniques that freak me out ... i just happened to pick up what i wanted to learn without looking at skill level - lucky me, because had i known some of those techniques, i might have been too intimidated to try!

You ain't kidding!
I'm from Connecticut so I am used to the snow, but Philadelphia..it starts snowing and it's like no one has ever seen it before and everyone panics. Most streets (like mine!) are so small that they can't be plowed, it's such a pain. AND we are expecting more snow on wednesday! Boo!

I am psyched to start collecting for this swap....tomorrow my bf and I are taking our first trip to the Reading Terminal Market. He has lived in Philly most his life, I have been here 5 years and we have never gone, so I would like to give special thanks to this swap for giving me an excuse to "have to go, it's important."  :D

oh--have fun in Reading! I needed an excuse to go to the touristy part of Hershey to pick up a few goodies...not that I ever need an excuse to get some chocolate or cocoa...:D

Yeah--more snow Wednesday...perfect to stay home and knit!

I have a 2nd day off work tomorrow, but sadly, I don't have the yarn I need
to start my project,
so I'll prob. just make plans & do some little extras until the streets clear up
and I can go to the yarn shop!
Oh, and I can also spend some time on my cards for another
swap so it can go out the door early, perhaps~

BTW, organizers, great job with the pairings --
I'm enjoying getting to know my partner via PM!
Seems like a good match, so far  :)

Trying to avoid cabin fever on a snow day so I went out today and picked up the last few things I needed to start crafting!  :)  Trying to hunt down a good local shop for my hot drink portion, but I'm ready to go on the accessory and to wear parts.  :)  Another snow day tomorrow, though it'll be a full house.  I'm hoping the university closes down too so I can get started!

Back on topic, I received my pattern for my wearable this morning and hope to start on it this evening!  I will be trying something new and I hope it comes out!

I agree with you 100%, and it was my & my husband's gift to ourselves too :)  What was there was absolutely perfect but then all of the sudden it's like "that's it?".  But I still couldn't get enough of it and can't wait to go back (we got annual passes, we live 2 hours away).

And the weather was quite perfect in that it was slightly chilly and left me thinking about this swap as well as the scarf swap I am in, now & then  :)

The best part is going to the local coffee shop. I'll probably have to end up tasting all of their new blends... for quality control of course.

Yeah, we all got phone calls tonight (except hubby), saying that school was closed for tomorrow.  I just finished one crafted item for my partner.  It was my first time making it and what the pattern said to do wasn't coming out looking right, so I adapted it.  I hope she likes it.  I don't think I will be going anywhere tomorrow, so I expect I will get some more crafting done.

Bah! I would NEVER ask a 17 year old boy's opinion! Or a 17 year old girl's for that matter!

I don't even ask my 3 year old's opinion. "um, yeah, that's pretty... ugly?"

I only ask my mom's opinion. She has to think everything is beautiful.  ;D

updates

drink: i went to ikea today (there are 2, each about 20 minutes away from me) and i saw some interesting looking teas and coffee, and i was tempted, but i really want to share something local... i hope my partner doesn't mind. i did check and see if there was an ikea near her and it's not terribly close, but not as far as me, though, so i think i did the right thing.

craft: started, undid, restarted, and undid again my first craft. will start again tomorrow.

good night swappers!

no snow here.. :( Everything is grey, brown and muddy. Yuck. It would be so much nicer with some snow...

On a crafty note: I found my hot drink, finished my keep warm item and working on the drink accessory now. :) This one's pretty challenging for me because I never did it before.  We'll see...

My hubby is generally pretty complimentary and encouraging of whatever I make - occasionally jealous if it is Star Trek themed :D  But sometimes obviously clueless, but happy if it makes me happy.  The other day I made some steampunkish jewelry, and he was like "Steam.... whaaaaaaaaaaaaa?"

I have a meeting at work tomorrow that should end at noon, so I think I will pop down to one of my favourite little markets, which has several adorable little shops and pick up my drinkies there, and then maybe one of my favourite tea shops.  I will probably start my keep me warm project or accessory Friday.

I haven't heard from my partner yet, but I've started on the wearable item because it's going to take a while.  I sure hope I don't find out later that it's her least favorite thing in the world or something and have to start over!  I've also planned the drink and related items but haven't started there yet...

I wish I was lucky enough to have a great local coffee shop. But, unfortunately... my town is super boring and we have nothing of interest around here. I've been complaining for years that we don't have a local yarn shop, now I can add the lack of coffee shop to my list of complaints... lol.

I have started on the wearable item. It was frustrating at first, but now I am actually enjoying seeing it come together. I still haven't settled on an idea for the hot drink accessory. I have several ideas I keep bouncing between. Hopefully I will get more done this week.

I would probably be getting more done on this swap if I hadn't gotten my lampwork beadmaking kit this week... lol. Its a huge distraction. I managed to make five beads last night that I would actually make something with. So, I was thrilled with that. Glass beadmaking is definitely a craft that you can't fake your way through until you get it right. Either you've got it, or you've got a lot more practice to do. I've still got a lot more practice to do ;)

I'm so super jealous of all the other 49 states that are not mine.  My state is the only one that didn't get any snow.  And I live like 5 hours from another state.  Boooo.  It's still cold though, so I am grateful for that.

I have been chatting with my partner, Minxalee, she & I are a great match, imo  :)  I have no set plans yet but am doing lots of research and such while I finish up my Scarf swap which is due this Saturday.  After that it's alllll about Minxalee  ;)

Everything is on needles! :D

Finished my "drink accessory" ;) but I think I might need to make one more thing to go with it...

Snowed about 6 inches but nothing is shut down...so, back to work...

For all of you who didn't get a snow day today, I apologize in advance...but...

As I was sleeping late in bed because both my school and my girls' schools called LAST NIGHT TO CANCEL  ;D, I was laying there thinking of the other things I could make for my partner for this swap!  And perhaps a little something  for her daughter, who sounds like a sweetie!

Excited to start working on the drink accessory today - I bought special thread yesterday...

updates

drink: i went to ikea today (there are 2, each about 20 minutes away from me) and i saw some interesting looking teas and coffee, and i was tempted, but i really want to share something local... i hope my partner doesn't mind. i did check and see if there was an ikea near her and it's not terribly close, but not as far as me, though, so i think i did the right thing.

craft: started, undid, restarted, and undid again my first craft. will start again tomorrow.

good night swappers!

*gulp* Ikea. I have never been to an Ikea, and yet I have a shopping list a mile long :) The closest one we have is about 3-4 hours away, so I'd have to plan a road trip to either Chicago or just outside of Detroit to get there. I don't mind, but something tells me the hubby might  ;D To the point, though - I don't mind at all! I'm definitely OK with whatever you have in mind!

As for my swap status -

Hot Drink - am planning a trip to the super awesome coffee/tea store on Friday - provided the snow stops and the roads are a total mess. I know what I'm getting, I just don't know what variety  ;) (we got snow...about 5" at my house; the roads are total crap, and the dummies are out in full force with their mental lapses on how to drive properly in this weather...you'd think any one who lives in the Midwest for the bulk of their life would be accustomed to this weather...yet every winter they act like they've never seen it before and totally flip out! They either drive 30 mph under the speed limit or 30 mph over the speed limit, and then they stock up on toilet paper, milk, and bread...an odd combination, but I've learned not to question their madness. :))

Craftiness - I'm still compiling ideas. I have one that I am definitely doing, I just have to get supplies, and another I've been tossing around in my noggin, but still haven't decided.

Wearables - Well, I'm not gonna lie - this one has me stumped! :) I have an idea, but it's not a craft; that will be a last resort provided I can't think of/come up with anything else before time gets away from me :)

We had 1 more inch of snow last night. It's gotta be the 20th time it snows here - that's over 4 weeks though. But still! It was just going...and at some point you get enough. How ever beautiful! My one neighbor is an more than 100 yr old cemetery and it's just absolutely amazingly beautiful with a little snow on it! Also it get to be fairly unspoiled there compared to the streets.

As for the crafting. I might just have the drinkables done aaand I might also have one large wearable done and perhaps also the drink accessory ... I do still have one wearable I want to make. I cheated a bit though. I had some drink accessories lying around made by someone else - crafted of course (and she will get full credit for them!). But I just never use them however beautiful they are, which is a huge shame. So I'm pondering using them. Which is also why I'm plotting doing another large wearable item. I can't quite figure out with my self if it's okay. What do you think? I'll go over the required amount of points no matter what...

I have supplies ordered for my wearable, and yesterday I picked up part of the drink...though I realized quickly it was a mistake because it won't be at it's freshest by the time I send and that is PERFECT because that means I get to go back to the market again. It was so awesome!!! We had gator gumbo and chicken samosas and pumpkin whoopie pies *drools* Oh man...this swap is the greatest, and it isn't even close to send outs!!  ;D

P.S. We also got snow but it didn't close us down...I boo the situation.

No shut downs for us in PA---not unless we get more than 4 feet...:D

I have to go to a special store near my Mom's to get something for the drinking portion...it will give me an excuse to visit with her as well...what I need won't expire or be old...all I am is saying is that I have these and I love them! :D

I too am excited about going to an old favorite store that I haven't been to in years (to get the coffee).  Funny thing is that I've never bought coffee there before because I didn't always love coffee the way I do now but I think that will be the best place to get something good.  Florida isn't exactly known for it's coffee, that I'm aware of, so it won't be local but I will pick out something wonderful  :)

Omg I just found a local Chicago place that roasts coffee with flavors such as maple walnut, orange, chocolate raspberry,  strudel cake,  pumpkin spice...ect.  I think I will just buy the whole store and park myself in one of their coffee bean barrels!

One of the BEST coffee places I ever went to in Florida was Bad Ass coffee...I know the coffee is from Hawaii, but the shop itself and the fresh coffees are truly wonderful!

Also, Melbourne (sp?) Florida has a local coffee...and, Cuban coffee...omg...and Key West...I also had some awesome local coffee in Flagler, St. Augustine...ha ha Can you tell I love coffee...I think I have had coffee in every state except South Dakota! :D

Not all of the coffees are local but the shops are--and fresh roast coffee from a great local shop is wonderful!  Can't wait to see what you get for your partner...oh yum!

I'm totally goin over my point requirement!

so excited that i have to post right now!

hubs and i rode our bikes before working this morning (we both work at home) and i stopped at my local market thinking i was going to get some local drinkables, but apparently they only carry whole bean from our local peeps, so still on the quest for ground at my partner's request), but i did find some awesome extras while i was there today, so this package is definitely coming together!

i have plans to go to our big farmer's market at the embarcadero this weekend (i live in SF) - i'm hoping to find what i'm looking for there, but if not, it's a short ride away from the actual coffee shops where i know i WILL find these grinds.

also started the wearable - i'm pretty excited about the way it's turning out - inspired by one of your wists, KimmyLynne82!

'hope everyone's having a great week!

My partner is giving me swap anxiety ;D

My crafting has been moving slower than I'd like to, because I've been having crazy busy days at Uni, and also because it's so humid here and my tendonitis is acting up so my hands cramp up every time I try to crochet or knit, so I only have a small accessory done >:( >:( However, I keep having more and more ideas, so I'm writing them all down, and I'm gonna have a supply shopping spree one of these days ;) And I've already gathered a pile of drinkables, which I had to put in a box and hide in a cabinet, because it was just way too much temptation just sitting there on my kitchen table :P

Omg I just found a local Chicago place that roasts coffee with flavors such as maple walnut, orange, chocolate raspberry,  strudel cake,  pumpkin spice...ect.  I think I will just buy the whole store and park myself in one of their coffee bean barrels!

Oh my GOD. I think I just died. Seriously? Maple walnut coffee?! Orange coffee! Chocolate raspberry coffee!! Strudel cake coffee!!! I am jealous to a ridiculous point right now :P

I don't mind flavored coffees but I am not a fan of flavored creamers...our local shop has all sorts of interesting flavors especially around the holidays...my favorite is pumpkin spice or...cinnamon bun...I wonder what they will have for Valetine's Day--maybe a chocolate coffee?

Have any of you tried the flavored hot chocolates?  I am not a big cocoa drinker but I have seen some pretty interesting flavored ones...

I'm just the opposite!  I love flavored creamers, probably because the flavor is stronger and is a little sweet (I like my coffee with cream and sugar) although I LOVE the smell of flavored coffees.  Oddly enough, as much as I like the flavored creamers, I don't like flavored hot chocolate.  Something must be wrong with my taster.   ;D

Okay, I have good news and bad news.

Good news is that I bought Miss Barbara tea today, and picked up some extras. I also made her hot drink accessory that turned out so awesome that I think I want to make the accessory an accessory!

Bad news is that I spilled my coffee on a skein of white wool yarn. Wait, does that count for hand dyed?

Well, dharma_rebel, I've been thinking about it, and here's my opinion...Coffee spilled on white wool yarn is fine if said wool is used to make something to wear for me.  So that way, I can wear it to work and when I feel sleepy, I can just slurp on the wool and the caffiene jolt will wake me up again!  ;D

You know, I've never tried dying anything before. Maybe, some day.

I *may* have managed to save the yarn though. I rinsed it in cool water and laid it out to dry. It shouldn't felt, since it wasn't washed in soapy water or agitated, right?

I think tea or coffee dyed yarn would be totally cool!  Not only could have some some really beautiful colouration, but it would smell so good!

I bought two drinks today for my partner.  Bought some for me too. Spent my evening drinking a yummy blend of something that had hints of chocolate, nuts, with orange overtones.  A local roaster's "holiday blend" - so yummy and smelled soooooooooooooooooo good.

Starting my accessory in the morning, and maybe getting things cut for the other craft too.

Just found out I have jury duty in a couple of weeks too - grumble grumble.

Someday I would like to try the "Coffee Painting" tutorial someone posted in the dyeing board here.  Maybe for this swap...we'll see how I'm doing on time.  So far, not so good.  I still haven't started!

Have some cool ideas though.  I've been working through the design on my wearable for days now in my head.  I'm starting to wonder if I can pull it off without a pattern  ???

WOOHOO! *Mimicking your happy dance*

Hubs made me a delish espresso this morning and then we went on a long bike ride to another part of town.... I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find some ground coffee in a local brand! I went to another coffee shop today and they said, "[roaster] doesn't allow us to grind the coffee because it degrades the quality of their beans and if we did, we wouldn't be allowed to sell it anymore"... Geez! People here are very serious about their coffee. I guess this really means I have to go to the source this weekend.

On the bright side, I did get a bag of whole beans for myself, so I can stay up and finish your wearable!  ;D :o (she says as her husband starts her 2nd cappucino of the day).

So I pay, and send the seller an apology for being such a ditz and after I click the send button a little message pops up to say the the seller will be away until the 19th and most likely won't respond until then ARGH!! Well, this is my story...I went to two different craft stores looking for a specific type and color of yarn for a nifty gifty for my partner.  No can do (price/selection).  I was pleasantly surprised, though, that one of the craft stores actually had something I had in mind as part of one of the original items I had in mind.  I also came up with one other idea that I think will turn out cute and my partner will like.  (I went a bit crazy in the craft stores last night!)

Thanks to several snow days this week, I'm done crafting.  Thankfully it's 'thawed' out some and I got out to go shopping this morning - I couldn't find one item that I really wanted for the package so I'll have to look around some more.... someone's got to have what I want!

"... a real hook and frog..." - love it.  It would make no sense at all if you were not a crafter :D

I was wondering if that was a well known phrase or not, because I laughed out loud when I heard it! Tooo funny....

kayrun - just saw your msg to me... I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I do own one of those all in one things - stick the beans in, push a button and voila! Magically amazing coffee! (better than the best I've had in my coffee-loving town!) I don't actually do any of that amazing work myself, but I'm not ashamed ;)

...I do have a great update!

Went out to lunch with a friend & cajoled DH into joining us for dinner... We ended up doing ALOT of walking around town and I happenstanced upon an awesome shop that had hundreds (!) of drinkable options!!! It's not any of the locals I was expecting to buy from and I don't really know the quality since I haven't tried it myself (I bought a bag of their coffee for myself, so I will know soon), but it's local and knowing how coffee conscious this town is, I can't imagine that any drink of this variety can be terrible, right? Right? RIGHT? I got a different flavor, so i wont know exactly what i got my pardner, but I can hopefully vouch for the quality with the beans I try! (I hope!)

Also halfway through the wearable! Im making it without a pattern, but it's turning out pretty good! Still halfway to go, though, so there's still time to get something wrong :) just kidding!

I was doing a bit of web surfing the other day, and found this cute "keep me warm" type project.  I already have my plans for this swap, but when I saw this, thought it would be cute too.  I may end up making it for my mom at some point, and maybe my sister.

What do you think?  Isn't it cute?

Well - it's probably more for those who crochet - you crochet with a hook grabbing the yarn, and when you frog, you are pulling out the stitches mistakenly made - rip it rip it rip it out.

sadly, knitting can be slow going, so I'm hoping
the worn item will not take super long!
I finally got the yarn (after realizing I could not wait for yarn to be delivered, duh)
and started the ______ last night.
It's coming right along, and since I have off work today, I hope to make good
progress.
Of course, I have to spend some time making cards for the card swap,
but.....
hmmm....think I could call in sick on account of crafting later this week?

I see a lot of people have been very busy!

I made 2 of the three items I planned on...I need a little break so I think maybe shopping therapy is in order...

I love the fabric cowl---I know when I signed up for this swap I was thinking mostly yarn stuff, but I forgot how many great things there are to sew!!!  I have an idea for some of my scrap felted sweater pieces... :D

Darn--I need another partner to make everything I want to make...maybe I will do a fake swap with me as my partner! :D

I have had a few ideas for the drink accessory and the wearable item...but nothing is going as planned! I really need a trip to the store, which is an hour away...but it's snowing like crazy here. I wish I would've made it to Joannes this past weekend for the sale...but I didn't get there either.

Hoping to be done soon and that the rest of my crafting goes smoothly. I guess I shouldn't have taken a swap break. It's hard to get back in the flow of things...arrr!

Okay!! So I got my drinks today which I'm really excited about.  I hope I am not going overboard on the drinks but my partner lives in Canada and I wanted to incorporate some of my favourite stuff from my hometown- Houston, TX (was visiting family there this weekend due to the long weekend) and then from Louisiana where I currently live.  I know what I'm doing for the drink accessory.  Now, I am trying to decide between two wearable projects taht I have never tried  to sew before so this should be interesting!!! This is so much fun!!!!

I have done that so many times! Whether it be making gloves/wrist warmers... or making sleeves for two left arms... lol. I get all caught up in making something and end up not paying attention.

I'm still working on my items for this swap. It has been slow going. I started my wearable and while I still love the design, I'm not so in love with doing it anymore... haha. I will love it more when I'm done with it, though. It is a fantastic pattern, just veeeeeeeeeeery tedious. Hot drink accessory is still a toss-up between a couple of different (but quick-ish and easy) things. Hot drink(s) still MIA until I can manage to drag myself out of the house long enough to actually shop. So, hopefully all will get wrapped up this weekend.

speaking of frogging... found myself tinking the wearable yesterday (i guess this gives away HOW i'm making it) - the first part looked great, but the second part wasn't coming out the way i wanted, so had to start that part over. i've gotten back up to that part and this time around it's looking more like what i had envisioned. whew!

I keep getting new ideas. Which means I'm drowning in half-finished projects. I'm done with the biggest of my other swaps, though, and no school for the rest of the week, which means I'll probably live on coffee and pizza for the next couple of days while crafting all day long \o/

Well, my hot drink accessory is as good as done.  I think I may make it a friend.  The rest is proving a little more difficult.  I called this one fabric store to see if they had the fabric I needed (as I had seen it in one of their other stores in another city) I described it to the girl, she went and looked, said "yes, we have it", I toted my 2 year old in his stroller on 3 buses down streets with no useable sidewalks only to find that she had no idea what I was talking about. *GRRRR*  So I had to find something else and I am so indecisive, it took about 45 minutes for me to make up my mind.
And for my hot drink I'm trying to blend my own tea to recreate the most delicious tea I've ever had 'cuz I bought it at a craft show and have no idea how to get anymore.  This is going to take some more trial and error.  Delicious, caffeine fuelled trial and error.

I am always a last minute sender...I seem to think of small things that need to be done or else I need one more thing... I will definitely not be sending early!  Even with caffeine, I am just slow... :D

mmmm--switched to a nice cup of tea today: pomegranate green tea...so yummy and smells great--lots of good antioxidants for this cold weather!

I plan on starting the hot drink accessories this weekend. I know exactly what I'm making, but I just need to get the supplies.

And I have to figure out what the heck to make/obtain as the worn accessory...I have ideas, but nothing's really smacking me over the head at the moment!

my progress report:  wearable - ~75% complete (I'm also in the tedious-but-pretty knitting boat.  Note to self:  no more fine-gauge knitting for swaps!)  drinkable - obtained!  drink accessory - working on a couple, one is almost done and the other just started but prettty quick.  I have another little project in mind if I get this stuff finished in the next few days, so I'm not planning on sending right away...

3 of 4 crafts done.  Number 4 was an epic fail, so will replace it with something else.  Picked up a store bought extra that was something I thought my partner would like.  Want to pick up an drink extra too.  I am waffling with what craft number 4 will be, so may send next week depending on what it is.

I am done, but am sick as a dog! And there is another crazy snowstorm headed our way. I won't say how many inches they are predicting, because I know that there are people who have it a lot worse than we do, but it is a lot for us!!

Hopefully, will send out on Saturday. If not, early next week.

ORGANIZER NOTE: Please be sure to PM your organizer when you send and when you receive. With a swap this size, we cannot be sure we will see posts in the thread!

The snow I like - the half melted, sludgy gray crap I can't stand.  Or ice rain, sleet, the ice rink like sidewalks that make me fall....  Pulling off my gloves to take my warm warm hands out to pull out half melted balls of ice from the dogs paws because they hurt them so much, the salt that corrodes the undercarriage of the vehicles, bite into the puppies paws, and ruin my leather shoes ..... take that all away!

I think I need a tea.....

Woohoo!  I was done my fourth faster than I thought!!!  I am going to see Harry Potter this evening with DH, then dinner. Then after that, I am packing my swap box.  Tomorrow, I am going out with the gals, but beforehand, I am picking up my last little goodie, and should be shipping out tomorrow.

WoW! I am so excited!! I probably will not send your package until closer to the sendout date. I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

While making a friend's birthday gift this afternoon, inspiration struck and I know exactly what to make for the drink accessory. Now it's just a matter of figuring out that to do about the wearable... *think, think, think* :D

I'm having fun so far with this swap almost everything is complete.

I do need to remake what I made today which goes along with this swap because my husband and his coworkers nabbed it from me tonight but I got supplies to make more so we're all good. I hope to send out this week if not by next Saturday.

I need to finish Zelda before I can start actual crafting for this, but have everything I need and everything planned. Part of it is making something I will test on my husband and kids first. If they approve it will go in, if they don't that is one thing that won't. ;)

I'm STILL working on the wearable! It isn't very large and isn't super difficult to do. But it is so tedious that it makes me want to cry... lol. The problem is, I love it. And I want one for myself. But, I kinda doubt that I will force myself to make it again. It will be done in the next couple of days. And I just need to do a few things on the drink accessory. So, hopefully I will be ready to send by this weekend!!

So...I have a small confession to make.

As I was sitting her plotting the rest of my crafts for this swap, I kept catching a whiff of the coffee I picked up for my partner, Kariz...the more I sat here, the more it was making me crazy. I was literally salivating over the coffee - that never happens (except with the Christmas blend)! So...the next thing I knew...it was in the coffee maker and brewing.  :o

I found myself making excuses about it..."Oh, it was ground anyway...by the time I get the package ready to ship, it might not be as fresh!" :D So, I'll be stopping on my way home Monday afternoon and picking some more up for you - whole beans this time so I won't dip into your stash! :)

I can promise you though, that its awesome coffee...sooo good!!

In other news - I'm so excited - my parents got us tickets to Rain (www.raintribute.com) for our anniversary, and it's tomorrow night! My husband and I LOVE the Beatles, so we've been looking forward to this for a while! I have all day Tuesday off and plan to work on my crafts, which makes me equally happy :D

I plan on concentrating my efforts on that darn wearable tonight, though. I just need to keep repeating to myself, "It will be done soon. It is pretty. It will be done soon. It is pretty..." So Monday and Tuesdays are my days off, I hoped to get a lot of things done but my best friend made a surprise visit to Philly from Connecticut!!!! She as never been here before so we strolled around the touristy areas this afternoon. Her nickname is Bean and we found a coffee shop called "The Bean" so of course we had to stop in! I had to explain that I was buying for a stranger, and the woman was very helpful, so I hope it's good!

I don't visit local coffee places, just Dunkin Donuts, so this swap was such an adventure for me!

I have the rest of today to work on wearables so I am finally making real progress!

ha ha I said NOT sick of yarn...I think I have blazed through 8 skeins over the weekend on various projects...I am destashing like mad but not only for this swap---I just want to be able to get new yarn in the spring...I am down to about 3 bins and what I have under my bed... :D

Tricky--that is so cool that you found that shop!!  I love to visit Philly and NYC to find unique shops...not just for coffee, but that is always a good thing!  Hope you are having as much fun as I am with this swap! :D

I am one step closer to being done!! My warm wearable is DONE! I'd been worried about this part because I am very limited on my sewing abilities and I didn't want to send something mediocre to my partner. I'm happy to report that even after exchanging harsh words with my sewing machine, and saying things we'll both regret later, the warm wearable it done and I'm thinking of making one for myself!

Now I just need to swing by the shop to pick up another package of beans (since I kind-of-sort-of consumed the first package I bought :D) and I should be ready to send before the end of the week!

I expected to take longer, but I'm in the middle of exams, and I'm supposed to be studying, which gives me something to avoid doing, which is always a big motivation for me :P (Procrastinator? Me?) The problem is that now I don't know what to do with myself, and I have more ideas so... I'll probably... keep on crafting?

To be honest, I'm surprised more of us haven't confessed to the same crime. *hides opened bag of tea leaves* I mean what, I wouldn't know anything about that ;D

So I am redoing the "accessory" after a moment of either inspiration or insanity. I have to go buy something this weekend to complete this so won't be sending until next week.

I also need to re bake something that was swiped and have a bad head cold with a fever so want to avoid sending anything "extra" and not wanted.

I... think I'm done.

I expected to take longer, but I'm in the middle of exams, and I'm supposed to be studying, which gives me something to avoid doing, which is always a big motivation for me :P (Procrastinator? Me?) haha during college friends would disable things on my computer if I left it on because I was always iming, playing games and blogging to avoid programming!

I do admit I drank the coffee! I had to try it, could have been poisoned, or bad...it was really a matter of safety and consideration for my wonderful partner. (and the fact I found a new antique coffee grinder at the antique store and needed fresh beans to try it out)

I didn't die or go bleck so it's been replaced :)

When I smelled out my partner's coffee, I *knew* I would be into it if I did not buy my own batch, so I just got myself some :D  Besides, it's a pain in the butt to go to that market in the winter because the streets are uneven, slippery, and they are always doing construction there (and we won't even discuss the fact that I always spend mucho dinero there!).

Just posted pics of my package I received from Onyxnox!  As far as my progress... I bought the fabric tonight. I didn't really find a pattern I really liked in the fabric I wanted but I think it will be okay.  So tomorrow the sewing begins!! Time to dust off the sewing machine! I'm really excited because 1) I've been dabbling in other crafts so I haven't sewn in awhile 2) I am trying two new things I have never done before so I'm really excited about it! Let the sewing begin!!! :)
Well, I was hoping to work on my accessory today but I just don't feel up to crafting. Last night my fur-baby passed away. :( She was an awesome cat and a fantastic friend. I'm just going to take today to be sad.

Hopefully I'll be back on track later this weekend because my goal is to send mid week.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat.  I know when my dog died last year I cried for days.  Our fur friends are part of our family!

Thank you. There is so much about her life I can't even begin to explain. Also, last year at this time my dog fur-baby passed too. :( *sigh* They just aren't with us long enough.

Awww - sorry for your loss Ekkagrrl.  I hope her passing was peaceful.

Thank you. I was really hoping she would go in her sleep but that wasn't the case. :( I did the best I could for her.

Thank you everyone for caring. It feels weird to be so sad for a cat but she really was my friend. We really do get so attached.

I had hoped to get my package sent out by now, but I ended up having to spend a tonne of time last week working and at the studio, so I'll hopefully finish up the crafting this weekend!   :)

It breaks my heart that our sweet furbabies are with us for such a short time on the Earth.  Toby is getting older and it is hard for me to think that one day soon, he may not longer be part of our lives.  I am hoping that day is still far off, but every day I see more evidence that he is getting older :(

LOLOLOL
This cracked me up!
It is SO something I would do   ;D

Yeah, I bought two specifically so I wouldn't drink all yours...  I know myself - it wouldn't have been able to make it a week until send outs if I didn't have some to try myself.  And all I can say it is FRIGGIN YUMMY!

I'm off to the fabric shops this afternoon (darn you busy work schedule!).  And I plan to spend wayyyyy more than I probably originally would have - I JUST GOT A PROMOTION!!!!  WOOOO!!!!  Kayrun, you will have some nice stuffs, I tell ya what!  Now I just have to MAKE THEM.

I plan on crafting like crazy this week - I've got so many projects lined up for all the crafting I haven't done it the last year - I'm gonna have a blast!  First things first, though - I have to get sewing tonight!

I finally started sewing!  Woohoo!  This is quite the accomplishment since I'm living with my parents temporarily and don't have a place to work.
One piece completed, two more to go and the drink bought.  :)  Tomorrow is a day off, I'm thinking I'm on a roll now should keep going.  Maybe I'll actually send out before the last minute (my usual m.o.  lol)

At the moment in Adelaide we need less a keep me warm swap than we do a keep me cool swap. As I write it is 4.40 am 29c/84f. During the day for the past two days it has been around 42c/108f. Hard to sleep. I am just about finished.

I will trade you Indiana's 15 (feels like 0 with wind chill) weather (with impending Snowmageddon) for your 84 ;D

I do understand your frustration though - it's so hard to be comfortable when it's ungodly hot. Adelaide...that's in South Australia, no? Is there a chance you'll be impacted by that nasty hurricane/cyclone headed toward Australia?

NO that is going for poor Queensland, where the floods started. They are having a really bad time at the moment. I probably also shouldn't complain about the heat, in Central Australia they have had ten days of over 40c/104f some days 46c/115f.

I would love to experience snow one day.

We're supposed to get up to 18" of snow and possibly an inch of ice over the next couple of days!! Any one else getting dumped on with this snow storm?

So, I live in north Louisiana and it went from being in the mid 60's to the 30/20's with snow flurries! I don't know how you northerners do it! lol It is soooo cold! However, I just walked my dog wearing the cowl Onyxnox made for me and then drank some tea she sent too which made me a very happy girl. Yum! I've sewn one thing, will sew another tonight and will probably send out Friday or Saturday!!

They were reporting on the news here that your school districts closed for the first time in over a decade....now I just have to say those are some dedicated grade school kids to be braving your winters year after year without a snow day!

We got the sleet and freezing rain here warmed up to almost 40 today cooled back down so its nice and slick again.

And the groundhog saw his shadow? Under what a large spot light? Poor fellow needs to go on strike, perhaps he needs a snow day!

I'm making good headway, I think, on my rethought on the accessory. I will be shipping on the 5th, if this doesn't work out then I'll go back to plan A.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat Ekkagrrl. I lost my fur baby a few months ago and know how hard it can be.

So I have been in a school work daze and haven't really thought about anything else for the past little while. But I am back here now. I have finished pretty much everything.. now to just add some final touches!! Yesterday we got a ton of snow! like a foot! Its pretty exciting. Also because the University was closed for the day which was crazy but very much needed!

Thanks Dra. :) I got the sweetest card from the animal hospital yesterday. I miss my kitty girl so much. :(

So yesterday we had a snow day here too. Hubby stayed home from work and my oldest daughter was sick ( poor pukey monkey) so we just made it a day off for everyone. I homeschool so we don't normally have snow days. ;)
Anyway, I managed to get my accessory finished! It was the first time I ever made what I made and the first time I have EVER tried the technique. Me and my seam ripper became very very good friends during the process.  :D I think it turned out very cute though. :) And since I had a lot of free time yesterday I found one more thing I want to make so I'm going to whip that up today. Then I think I'm done!! I'll be mailing out tomorrow. Woot woot!

I think bad weather is screwing up all of the winter swaps...mail out date should be the date closest to the first day we can all get out of our houses! :D

This swap could not have come at a better time:  seems like the whole country needs to try to keep warm!

Those cupcakes are adorable!!

So I thought you northerners would get a kick out of this. The weather alert message I received from my school district (I'm a teacher) said this: All Caddo Schools will be closed tomorrow due to the impending "winter storm".  We apparently consider a winter storm to be 2 inches of snow! LOL

I would so love to do a Keep Cool swap.  I have made those gel neck wraps for DH before and it would be good incentive for me to make more.  Definitely iced tea, iced coffee recips.  Cute ice cube trays  (like these ice shooters - love em -http://www.worldwidefred.com/coolshooters.htm) .  Outdoor eating/entertaining ideas maybe - like serving trays, recipes?  Sun tea containers?  Jug, mug, cup covers to keep the nasties out of our drinks?  Decorated water bottles/bottle holders for those of us to like to walk in the heat?  If I get someone close by, I could make those candy shooter glasses I did one year - but they do not keep well because the candy starts to melt if exposed to humidity.  Or cute drink accessories, like wine glass charms, swizzle sticks, stir sticks, can/glass cozies, crazy straws.  Or catering to things people like to do when they are having a nice cool drink in summer.  Like I enjoy lazing on the lounge chair with music and a book, with a tall glass of something cold beside me.  So bookmarks, a book bag or book cosy, a big brimmed hat, a pillow - things like that?

Oh no!!!  I swear the Post Offices of the world have the ulterior motive of infuriating citizens at large.  I am positive that Canada Post has a personal vendetta against me at times.  Hopefully it turns up some time down the road.

Keeping fingers crossed for a Keep me Cool swap once the snow melts off!

Ugh!! A missing package!  That is my fear... especially since I could not get a tracking number for the package I sent.  I was told by the post office that they don't give tracking numbers for internationally sent packages.  This doesn't seem right. Does anyone know? My package is already sent but I want to know for the future in case I was given wrong information and I need to send internationally again. I'm in the US by the way.

This is the strangest situation...I have "swap anxiety" b/c I have seen the package that Purple Paisley was supposed to get, and I am really jealous of Luckdragon's sewing skills-that mug rug is to die for!  :-*  As usual, I will try my best, but still....

(I plan on getting a lot done tomorrow night...after the kids are in bed, that is my "TV marathon" time, and I will be sitting on the couch, watching my fav shows, and crafting!)

Yeah, I agree. If PurplePaisley's package is HALF as awesome as mine, she will be thrilled.

I believe that they do not have delivery confirmation #s as they do within the US,
but I've always gotten a customs # for my internat'l pkgs (involves filling out a customs
form declaring what is in the pkg & the value)....
Do you remember filling out a form like that?
(used to be a green form, but lately they've upgraded to a triplicate carbonless one?)
