Title: felt chistmas ornaments from the 70's?
Post by: dcb on December 12, 2010 05:45:18 AM
Hello,

when we were kids my Mom made these ornaments out of felt. They were seperate peices that were held together with string.

There were a couple of snowmen , santa, and a Partridge in a pear tree.

My sister would like to get the magazine they were in as a gift for my Mom this year. Anybody remember them?

I posted a picture of the snowmen in the Craftster Photo Hosting.

We think they were in "Christmas Helps" or sometimes called "Holiday Helps" we have looks in Dec. issues for '72,'74and '75 and did not find them.

Thanks, Doug

Was the magazine called "Holiday Helps" or was that a feature in the magazine?  If a feature, what magazine was it?

Dancing snowmen!  Does anyone know how to make these ornaments?  The felt shapes look self explanatory.  Is the string sewing thread, floss, or fishing reel string?  Thread would allow greater movement but would also be flimsy.

DH wants our Christmas gift theme to be 1960s.  He would love these.
