Ready your wisting fingers ladies...I got the most amazing scarf yesterday from craftaddiction!!

The colors are just perfect. I absolutely couldn't have picked a more awesome colorway if I tried. They're brilliant. The pattern is gorgeous and it just looks so...expensive and professional.

And! If that weren't enough, she also carved me the buck stamp I've been wanting!!

Thank you so much, craftaddiction! It's been a stressful week (my kitty is sick and has been to the vet twice in the past three days - Wednesday and today! - so your package was a lovely pick-me-up.

Love the scarf!

I received from myloveasdeep today.  She sent wool felted scraps ( huge pieces!) and the most beautiful altered box in my often requested but seldom crafted for theme of phrenology!!  I can't wait for all of you to see it but I'll have to wait until Sunday or Monday to take pictures.  My camera battery is old and only holds its charge for a very short while.  I'm afraid not to save the whole battery for Christmas pictures this weekend.  As soon as the holiday happenings are over, I'll charge that baby up and show you this gorgeous work of art.

I got a flat rate box stuffed full of supplies from lafemmefatale! She wasn't kidding when she claimed me for "a ton." Some of this is for a personal swap we did for some of my tea wallets, but I'll put it all here.

Two sets of alphabet stamps! Yay! And some cork letters and flowers, and what I've been calling the "spur on a stick." Could someone tell me what this is for? It's not sharp at all. My guess is clay, and my mom thinks pie.

A TON of needles, machine and hand-sewing. And bobbins! Thank goodness, I just ran out.

Elastics, D-rings (I used a pair of these right away to make a Christmas present), hooks, bias tape, a quilter's pattern making pencil, and a sewing/knitting gauge (really nifty, I hadn't seen one of these before).

Iron-on patches, really awesome buttons, photos from a Navy yard it looks like.

20 (!) upholstery fabric swatches (showing some of my favorites), blue fabric, and three shirts for me to pillage in my recons. :D

And my wisty surprise! It's adorable, I've been wearing it all day.

Thank you again lff! I'll swap with you anytime!

Your spur on a stick is actually a tracing wheel used for marking your patterns when sewing. You use it to trace out the markings on your fabric with fabric tracing paper instead of chalk transfer

Title: Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Gallery for round 65
Post by: Acadian Driftwood on December 25, 2010 07:54:29 AM
Oh, that is nifty!

Title: Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Gallery for round 65
Post by: stillatthetop on December 25, 2010 08:56:02 PM
It will also work for clay, or pie crust. I don't use mine in the sewing room, either. I generally trace my patterns with mark B gone, so I have re-purposed my "wheel". ;)

I received from Banga 2 days ago and am just now getting to post a pic of the lovely goodies that she sent me!  First off there was (note past tense) a box of YUMMY chocolate peanut butter fudge.....I got a nibble and then the rest of the family stole it from me....seriously, they locked me out of the room while they ate my candy!! :o  But they showed little interest in my awesome recipe book because that would require them to actually cook...but it is BEAUTIFUL!!  She filled it with recipes (and sent some extra blank cards to insert) and they all sound delicious!!  I think it's awesome that she does a food blog too!! My Craftster peeps are all so multi-talented!!

Thanks SOOOOOOO much Banga!! You're 5 stars!!  ;)

Myloveasdeep, the jackalope and squid bags are too awesome!

I got some AiO cloth diapers from 1boy1girl1kitty2!  They colors went a bit wonky in the photo... the darker pair are green with a soft yellow interior, and the other is white with a guitar & star pattern on the back (which I now realize I didn't get a picture of - I'll have to do that when they're done being pre-washed)

Sorry it took me so long to post pics of this amazing package from myloveasdeep.

She claimed me for felted wool scraps, which she sent huge pieces of, and something in my phrenology theme.

First the felt:

I love these colors and they'll go great in one of the penny rugs I'm making!

Now, even if you're not into phrenology you'll want this next thing.  My daughter collects phrenology heads ( busts) and I've been trying to find other things to go along with her collection.  When I opened my package and saw this box, I actually whooped.  It's magnificent!

A shot to show the legs, which are wonderfully ornate silver colored beads.

And with her collection:

Thank you so much myloveasdeep!

Awesome job on the box!!  And where on earth did your daughter find those cool phrenology heads?

I know, the box is perfect!  My hubby and I found all of the heads at different flea markets and antique shops over the last few years.  I found one at an antique shop in Boone, N.C. once and wasn't willing to pay the price.  I have regretted it ever since because I've never found one like it since.  I know better now :)

Received my shirt from 1boy1girl1kitty2, and a couple of cool extra pendants!!  I have to ask - what are the pendants made from; where did you get the clear pendant fronts???

I tried to take action shots with me wearing the shirt, but I couldn't get a good one in the mirror on my own...  But it's a perfect fit, and I love the placement of the dark mark -- thanks so much!!

I received a fun package from Avesthel today!!

Some scrabble tiles for pendant-making (needed them!!) and jump rings in large and extra large sizes (awesome, thanks!) and zipper pulls and a pear pincushion.  I love how firm the pear is, it stands nice & tall!!

And here's a close-up of the zipper pulls.  I will be using the crystals on a handbag for my mom - she's gonna LOVE them, they're PERFECT!  And the hearts are adorable - I know I'll make good use of those, too!

Thanks, Avesthel!!

I received 2 wonderful packages in the past few days and both of these brightened my day!!  :)

First 1boy1girl1kitty2 claimed me for 2 winged tees for my baby nieces.  Then she surprised me by making one for my daughter too!!

Baby tees: front and back.  Had to show off the pocket on the front.  SO CUTE!  and the lovely wings she screenprinted on the back.  Love the color gradation!!
PERFECTION!!!

Back of tee 2

Lana's tee.  Beautiful!!!!

Thank you so much Jamie!!  I think I'm gonna save the baby tees to surprise my nieces this Valentine's Day.  They are gonna be rocking these.  :)  Lana is wearing hers ASAP.

           **************************************************

Then today we received from jnny_heck who claimed me for a tee for Lana.  She wowed me with an embroidered tee of her name and spoiled us with buttons and a lovely handmade card.

Closeup of the lovely embroidery!!!

Thank you so much Jenny!!!  I wish I had the skills to embroider like you!

           **************************************************

I'm sorry I couldn't post action shots.  Lana is having tummy troubles today and isn't feeling well to pose.  But she really loves her tees and feels so spoiled.  Thank you both for such awesome, thoughtful, and wonderful packages!!  YOU BOTH ROCK!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

my packages from elociNNicole and jennilocker came while i was out of town, then i had to wait for my boyfriend to get back home with his camera, so now i can finally post pics. im sorry for the delay.

first, the adorable stuffie that jennilocker made me, modeled off of a creature from a knitting pattern that i love:

it also came with a box of gobstoppers, which were already consumed  :)

i got an awesome supply package from elociNNIcole, with a ton of yarn and a huge supply of circular needles, which she magically knew i was in need of. i have a ton of dpns, but hardly and circulars.  there are some in almost every size, including the really big sizes that i have wanted for a while.

thank you both so much! these were wonderful post-xmas surprises  :)

Ok y'all, be jealous, be very jealous!... I was out of town and had my mail held for a week and a half over the holidays, so Monday I got surprised by this:

A whole lotta craftster goodies! First off, from jennilocker I received 3 handpainted onesies, a pair of bunny booties, and a pattern for baby clothing and bibs. The onesies are newborn size and we could not get over how tiny they are!

From mimiw I received a wetbag (love this print!) and a huge stack of cloth diaper goodies, thirsties and prefolds, etc... I'm not even sure how to use all of these yet, but I'll figure it out!

From atsuko I received a big bag of roving and a gorgeous tree of life pendant. My camera only lets me get so close, even with the macro function, so I know atsuko has a better photo. It is too pretty and I need to hurry and find a chain for it!

Thank you ladies all for the lovely gifts! It was like a second Christmas!

Me too!! When I was playing with the onesies I couldn't believe how little they were and when I brought Zoe home she was in preemie clothes so NB stuff was SO big on her.  Now she is 17 months and I can't believe how big she is.  It all goes so fast.

lol, I would gladly loan either one of you Harper for the day.  That might change your minds   ;)  I swear, had I known hermit crabs were so easy, I would have opted for them instead.  This child is maddening.

I love that tree of life pendants with the red "apples" (?).  Very creative.

I have to get my butt in gear and post some pics.  I have received some awesome stuff this round.

I received an awesome box today from babalina58! She claimed me for a Felix shirt for my daughter and again for some supplies.  First the shirt, then lots of Vanna's Choice yarn, and the last pic is embroidery floss, floss bobbins, jewelry tools, black marking pen, and some fun treats for my daughter. Emily has already put the shirt on and is having fun with all her goodies. Thanks so much babalina58!  ;D

Hehe, the apple tree was created by the talented PFD and copied by me.  I did the Asian version.  She used peridot/ruby and I used jade/coral.  Hehe.

I received this BEAUTIFUL TOL pendant from our very own PFD!!  I wanted one the moment I saw it made for someone else.  I love this!!  It has a pretty turquoise stone for the moon background.  I was thrilled when I saw it.  As soon as I showed it to hubby he asked if he could have it!!!!  The nerve lol!!!  I have a collection of them (I really like these!!) and gave him another that i felt more appropriate (he studies martial arts and has what is called a Kamidana which is a Japanese shrine with various items and offerings)

I ask that if she has a better pic (ok i know she does!! lol) to please post it.  But here is my "attempt"

Thank you so much!!  I already have a necklace/choker planned out for it as soon as I can find the beads.  I will post when I have it completed!!!

Bear with me on the pics.  Here are two of the four.  The others are on my phone and I'm dealing with a mini sleep protester this week...

From sweetyetevil:
I used the almond soap every day.  Love it!  Nicholas adores his snack bags and those lollypops were gone instantaneously.

From PhoenixFireDesigns:
This one is so very special to me.  It represents my three children who are my world.  This is my only piece of "mother's jewelry."

I also received awesome bath bombs, and a great shirt from redstar13 and two gorgeous Tree of Life pendants from the wonderful atsuko (who I am so lucky to be meeting IRL in the coming weeks!).

Okay, here we go, the most amazing piece of Chinese Commie wall art. I'm really glad I added this to my list, seeing what the incredible Banga has done.

The triptych:

Individual panels

It went straight up on my wall, next to the net/frame thing that holds all my red and gold bits and pieces. Thank you so much Banga, this is AWESOME!!

I have nothing better to do, so I thought I'd post pics of 2 of the packages I sent.

First I claimed edie22 for handcarved stamps. She likes star trek and harry potter, so I sent 3 star trek stamps and 2 harry potter ones.

Next I claimed craftybeachgirl for a headband. It is based off one from her list. The one on her list was knitted, so I tried to make a similar one out of crochet. It took two tries, but I think it turned out good.

Oh, I'm SO HAPPY it's arrived!!! I know stuff takes longer to arrive when you post a day or two before Christmas, but I was beginning to freak out a bit ;)

I'm pleased you like it so much :D It was originally much simpler, but I thought that it didn't look much like a 'medium'  piece of work, so I added the decorations on the cup.

*smug* I'm proud of this. My stitching looks good.

I received two perfectly "me" packages yesterday!

First up, she goes la sent me an altered journal with the theme "70's fashion".

I had listed that theme thinking if anyone chose to make it for me, it would be lingering hippie or stoner fashion.  I love those styles too, but I am thrilled with this delightful young lady from that era.  She's obviously southern like me ( hence the white gloves in the 70's).  No matter what else we were in those days, this girl lived in each and every one of us here in the south.  I love her flip, I love her dress, I love love those gloves.  It's just wonderful!

and a bit closer  ( my camera doesn't do close up well)

I've actually decided to journal my life in that decade in this journal.  I'm not morbid; just have a very comfortable view of death, and I think when I die it would sure break up the sad mood if my kids found that journal and sat and read it together.  I love visualizing that. :D

Next up is the thrilling package I got from Banga.  I love handcrafted note cards so very much.  I know I could make my own, but it thrills me to receive them in swaps.  Banga sent me the most wonderful collection of note cards you can imagine.  My daughter even got excited when I opened them because she knows how much I hate using most store bought cards (there are exceptions).

She made this pink assortment and I adore each and every one.  There are several of the Betty White ones ( who wouldn't smile getting that in the mail?).  My favorite in this batch is the wreath of leaves.  I don't know if you can tell, but some of the leaves are printed and I'm a sucker for anything with words on it.  Actually; I'm a sucker for anything made of paper.  I hate email, I hate Kindel (?) and Nook, I despise Facebook... I like to write letters, read newspapers and books, and make phone calls ( okay, phone calls are not paper... oh well).  Oops, let me crawl off my soapbox and show you the rest.

These are store bought but I had to show them too.  They are definitely an exception to the handmade only rule.  I can't stand the thought of birds of any kind in cages... ever, for any reason.  I love these cards and fully intend to try to find more.

Now for my absolute favorite.  She sent a bunch of these remarkably perfect cards. I love not only letters and words, but also fonts!  I love these so much!  These will go only to very special people in my life.

and a bit closer:

Banga, please feel free to claim me for note cards over and over again!

Thanks so much she goes la and Banga.  I love my new goodies!

I received my parcel from Kitten Wrangler - she made me an adorable Buttercup bag - the lining of the bag is white with black circles and scissors all over -  I love it (and so does my daughter too - she insisted that we "share" it, but so far I only had my hands on it long enough to take the picture!!)

Thanks so much, we love it!  ;D

Wow so many great packages since I last looked in here.  Those mittens look so warm.  I need a pair!

All of the bags and totes are so nicely done.  I really like the black and white polka dot purse.

Okay... I've finally got the time to share the awesome packages I got from redstar13 and jennilocker.

This is my package from redstar13:

She claimed me for a lens cap cover for my camera but there were loads of extras: Lip Smackers, Koolaid and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. (Which did NOT last long!)

The lens cap cover:

And this is the package from jennilocker:

She claimed me for a shawl pin and again there were mega extras. Can we say sugar rush? :) Plus, there were heat pads for my poor, achy hands.

Here's the shawl pin:

It's just like the one in my wist!

Thanks so much, both! Both packages were amazing! :)

I suck so hard for not posting this earlier.

Ambermoony sent me a keyboard full of computer keys (no photo... it's not that interesting) which I already have plans for

And this wisty surprise

Fireflower earrings!!! They are so cute and adorable and just right for summer - maybe they'll keep the rain away ;)

Thank you so much ambermoony - I'm sorry I'm so slow at putting this photo up.

witchybelle claimed me for dryer balls and supplies last year!  It seemed as if her package would be lost in postal land forever, but it finally arrived!

I've never used dryer balls before and I'm torn because these are so pretty I almost hate to throw them in the dryer.  I will though; I'm excited about taking yet another step toward a green lifestyle.

She also sent a wonderful collection of supplies including the embroidery hoops I've been having such a hard time finding around here:

Thank you so much witchbelle, I love everything.  It was definitely worth the wait.

Oh that's fine.  I've already used the felt you sent.  I do love the good stuff, but I'm no felt snob ;D.  I still haven't put those dryer balls in the dryer.  They are so incredibly pretty and I'm afraid it will ruin them.  How silly is that?
