Rubies-pearls, I am so glad you like everything!  I had a lot of fun making it for you.  I am now addicted to making fabric buttons and wonder why I held on to them in my stash for so long!  :D

Super cute Kitty stuff. And awesome birdies. I've been pondering whether or not to make some birdies like the broach for my mom, I'm pretty sure I am now.

;D  I received from my partner, rlynn, today!  Unfortunately, I can't post photos, so just read my descriptions, and picture in you mind the awesomeness that is my swap package:

-A BIG SMOOSHY PILLOW!!!!  I've been asking for one for several swaps, and rlynn delivered!  It is a rectangular one, with a cover made of striped fabric, and the pillow itself has ORANGE flowers on it!
-A REALLY COOL POCKETBOOK!!!!  I love pocketbooks, and this one is navy blue with an orange, yellow, red, white, and baby blue striped fabric on the outside and for the lining.  She made the strap long enough to fit across my chest which is great, and it has an inside pocket(!) and a nifty button closure(!)!
-FLEECE SUNGLASSES CASE!!! Made with silly frog fabric that made me giggle!
-SIX BOTTLE CAP MAGNETS!!!  Right up my alley!
-AN ORANGE FLOWERED MINI-NOTEBOOK!!!!  I needed one of these!
-A TEA WALLET!!!!  Very stylish in both design and fabric choices, and it's already filled!  ;)
-AN ORANGE CIRCLE PENDANT-On an orange cord...it looks like a huge lifesaver candy!   :D
-A BEAUTIFUL CARD!!!!-It has a print of a bird on it, and I will be framing it and putting it in my craft room, once it is finished.

It is truly a well made, thoughtful, generous swap package, and I can only hope rlynn likes what I sent her even half as much!  THANK YOU RLYNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alright since missbarbara has received, i will post pictures of what i sent to her.

i forgot to take a pic of the actual pillow.  i decided to make the pillow out of some orange flowery fabric so that when she removes the cover to wash it, the pillow can still be decorative.

pocketbook

close up of fabric

tea wallet and sunglasses cozy

resin magnets

resin circle pendant (its sitting on a orange flower notebook)

so apparently, one thing i made has gone missing.  :(  i think it might have either got left outside during my photo shoot or else it got lost at the post office because i can't find it anywhere in my craft cave.  i have enough stash to make it again and its something missbarbara asked for so i am going to remake it and send it out to her.  i won't post pics of it because i want it to be a surprise!

glad you like the goodies i made!!

thanks everyone!

I love the idea of doing resin magnets and those are super cute!  Where do you get the bottlecaps, Rlynn?

those in particular are from my husband.  every time he pops open a beer, i save the cap.  every time i find one one the ground i pick it up and bring it home.  but you can buy new, unused ones on etsy and amazon.  or if you have a reuse/recycle arts store they may have tons.  i know when i visited SCRAP here in portland they had a huge container full.

thanks!!  you should use it!  even if your item is a bust.  resin can be expensive so i think its easy to hoard it but it also has a shelf life.  a long one but still it would suck for it to go bad.  play around with it.  be brave.  :)  jewelry is a good one to start with because a little goes a long way.

I got the most amazingly awesome swap package from missingwillow yesterday!

Group photo!

She sent me a whole bunch of homemade soaps and a jar of almond scrub. I love these! I'm addicted to handmade soaps and I can't wait to try the felted one. I put the cupcake in the guest bathroom yesterday and my friends thought it was the cutest thing ever. I tried out the almond scrub on my feet and it is fabulous. It smells great and my feet feel all soft and smooth.

Farm goodies! Raw fleece from her sheep for spinning!! I'm so excited to try it out! There are also a bunch of different heirloom seeds from her farm. I'm really excited about these, too! They have great names like "Mr. Stripey Tomato". And she sent along a jar of her homemade zesty peach BBQ sauce. Yum! I'm just really excited about everything in this photo! ;D

Knitting Stuff: She made me this very pretty needle roll. I love it! She cleverly sewed a magnet into one of the pockets to hold stitch markers. How neat is that?! She even sent some yarn to feed my other addiction. ;)

Little things: The bracelet is off my wist. It's so pretty! And the necklace features my pup! It just makes me smile. And here's a close up of the stitch markers.

And last but not least, she made a leash bag from my wist. It has lots of pockets to hold everything I might need when I'm out and about with my pupper. (Caleb says "thank you" for the treats. He thoroughly enjoyed them!)

Thank you so much, missingwillow!! You are a fantastic swap partner.

i received from missbarbara.  she spoiled my daughter and me.  there are a ton of pics so i made the pics of the store bought items small clickable ones.

aria loves these little tiny creatures!

lovely bags for each of us! they are beautiful!

armwarmers!  i love the color combo!

this hat for me.  fits perfectly.  LOVE it!!!!

aria like it a lot too but it doesn't fit her nearly as well...heh.

and this may seem really odd but my absolute fav is these face scrubbies!  i am so happy to have a set!

but wait...thats not all.  she sent this beautiful blanket for aria.  we got the package right before aria's naptime...when i told her to get ready for naptime, she grabbed her new star blanket and headed for bed.  :)

thanks so much for a great swap package!!!

Rlynn, that star blanket is epic!  Your adorable daughter looks very happy with it.

Cinnamon Teal, I'm so happy you're happy!  Working only with what's on hand was a challenge that I enjoyed very much.  I hope you'll think of me when you're having awesome produce next Summer from our saved seeds  ;)  Caleb is adorable, I had a hard time choosing the photo.   This was fun!

Woo! Here is my package I sent to rainysunshine!

First is a baby quilt I made for her!  The backing a light blue bubbles kind of fabric.

Second is some crochet and knitted baby washcloths

Third is a babybib in houndstooth and crimson for University of Alabama! (sorry for sideways-ness)

And fourth was a crocheted baby hat in crimson color.  I forgot to take a picture of it :(

Anyway! There it is !  :D

I received today and got my phone to finally work so I can post pictures!  Wow, everything is so awesome.  I sent today, too (a little later than I meant to, but finally got to the post office early this morning).
Here's the adorable hat she forgot to take a picture of.  It's a great color and so soft!

The rags are soft and perfect for absorbing little baby messes.  The bib is perfect for little alabama fans!  Love the houndstooth!
And the most amazing, adorable, sweetest little quilt there ever was!  The topstitching is a leaf pattern.  It's so adorable.

No action shots yet because no little one just yet.  All things are unisex, too - perfect!  Suzy did a great job and I'm so excited to have everything!  I can't wait until she gets the stuff I sent, probably on Monday!

(As per usual, I can't post photos, :'(, but I need to put a description of what rlynn sent me!

When I listed in the gallery what I received from her swap package to me, she said that it was missing one thing.  She said she would re-make it and send it to me, which I thought was very generous and thoughtful of her!

I received it today.

It is a BEAUTIFUL silver/pearl bird's nest pendant!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I will be going back to work in style this year!

Thanks, rlynn!   :-*

Got a fabulous package from jonnamarco over a week ago, but I had to wait for my camera to get fixed before I could take photos.

Here are my goodies.

Extra's - The kids love the kool Aid fizzers

Mushroom pins straight from my Wists.

Pacman stitch markers from my wists too.

And a whole heap of jewelery that I absolutely adore. I wore the black ball earrings and black and red necklace to work on Friday.
I just need something to keep them all organised now...hint hint  ;D

necklace close up

I'll be sendin parcel out on Monday. I've been finished for a few dyas, but wanted to take photo's before I sent.

that quilt is amazing!  and i love the mushroom pins!  too cute.

here is the bird's nest pendant that i remade and resent to missbarbara.  i have no idea what happened to the original.  the best i can figure it either got left outside my apartment when i was taking photos or it got lost at the post office when i was packaging everything.  hopefully somebody came across it and its being loved.  i would hate to think of it just lying in the trash somewhere.

:o :D  I am so happy!!! I just got my package today from Rainysunshine and I LOVE it!! It is so perfect and the colors are everything I love! I can't wait to start using! She put so much thought into it and I just love it! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! :D :D

I try so hard to be organized and fail miserably, so I really need some home organizer things to take back to college, but of course they have to be cute! So she did such a great job with this!

Here's the first one..

It's a hanging organizer, but it's so creative! It has so many different compartments..it's perfect!!

Here's another view of it...

And lastly...she made another organizer for me, but it's got a sturdy back to it so it's really versatile.  I could put it in the car...the back of a chair....in my mattress and have it hang over...just so many options! I love that!

They're both just perfect! Thank you so much!!!

I just received a super package from onegroovyday. Everything is sooo amazing. I love it all.

I really wanted a snuggie so she made me one  ;D She even added a strap so I can close it. It couldn't be more perfect. I think she said that she used different fabrics since she couldn't buy any. I thought it was intentional :D It gives it such a cute look. I love it. It is so bright and colorful. It couldn't be any more 'me'.

She also sent a super cute nightgown (which I am wearing now). It's comfy and cute, what could be better?

And, as if that wasn't enough, she sent a pair of frog PJ's. The frog on the shirt is embroidered. It looks amazing.

Here is closeup of the frog:

She also sent a zipper pouch (I always need zipper pouches), a drawstring backpack for my mom and a embroidered Jack Skellington for a family friend.

The detail on this is astonishing. I know she will love it. I can't wait to send it to her.

As you can see, this is sooo cute and it looks even better in person. I hate to see it go, but I know it is just perfect for my mom. I showed her (on skype) everything I got in the swap. She loved it all. But when I got to the bag, I didn't even have a chance to say it was her's, before she started saying how amazing it was and that she loved it. At least we know she likes it  ;D The picture doesn't do it justice.

I absolutely love my package. Thank you so much onegroovyday.

styupe, so glad you like everything, and it looks like it all fits well.....

Glad the tie on the snuggie works for what you wanted... and.... did you notice that the sleeves have a draw string .... so that when you are sitting on the couch doing your crochet you can tighten them up .....

Now that is ingenious. No, I didn't notice. And I thought it couldn't get any better.  :D

The idea came after I tried it on and realized how long the sleeves were, and thought this is great if I were watching a movie and just laying around, but if I wanted to do anything they would totally get in my way!.... so I fixed the problem ;D

Bless my heart, I didn't even realize we had a gallery.  I guess I thought everyone was sending right on the send-out date like me.

I won't even try to list things individually, I'll just say that everything in the gallery is wonderful and I apologize for not noticing it was posting and commenting.

I've just found it too - but what a pleasure looking through it and seeing so many wonderful things.  Packages on this have just been awesome and I shall be checking back more regularly now to see what else comes in.

I have wisted the star blanket and the birds nest necklace - simply fabulous.

I got my awesome package today!! My neighbour kindly took it in when I'd popped out for lunch, the box was HUGE!

Inside was an awesome decoupaged storage box! I need some storage so badly and this is perfect!!

Inside I got some dairy free treats! Hooray!! Some delicious flapjack that I don't think will last very long! It got a little bashed around in the post but still tastes great :D

I also got a really cool vintagey style apron, similar to one on my wists :)

I also got some cool earrings and a really cool nautical broach!

Thanks for everything!

I got a fantastic package in the mail today! luckdragon spoiled me!
Group shot: evolution of the zombie pillow (too cute!), mustache mugs, popcorn fabric (which I really like- I'm originally from Valparaiso, IN aka home of Orville Redinbaker, we had a popcorn festival every year that I never get back for!) AND the most awesome!!!- An embroidery inspired by Barton Fink. Who's Barton Fink? you ask? Go get it on netflix and watch it now. Then come back here.

Ok, saw it? Awesome movie, right? So here's my loot!

Wow!  I think craftaddiction got confused and thought this was a 30 pt swap instead of a 3 point swap.  I love it all, but I seriously want that monkey.  Oh, and I'm not a dog person at all, but I kinda want your sweet little doggie too.

I received yesterday from Kwality570. I am just thrilled with everything. I actually squealed a couple time.

Group shot. The new holiday crafts mag, and a beautiful Rapunzel scarf. Is that handspun yarn I see??

Super awesome hat. Straight off my wists.

Felted bowls.

Super cute birdy pin. I've been spying these everywhere, and I love it.

Toad-ally squeeal worthy. (Sorry ladies-had to do it. It's been a long week)

And the best part (funny how a little piece of acrylic can make your week) R2-D2 and CP3-O

Thanks Kwality!! ;D ;D ;D

Title: Re: Buy Nothing Round 5 Swap Gallery!
Post by: kwality570 on September 18, 2010 09:18:04 AM
I received this week, but wasn't able to get photos posted until now.  Stupid overtime at work.

Bunny scarf from my wists.

Amazing patchwork pillow from my wists.  It's so great!  The back is made from an old pair of jeans. So creative.

A crocheted lip balm cozy for my keychain, some really cool shamrock ribbon, and a colorful tissue holder pouch.  I fell asleep watching tv last night and my puppy ate the tissues, but they'll be easy to replace and hide from her in the future.

I so totally love everything I got!!!  Thank you, froggmomma!

Froggmomma - I'm glad you liked the R2-D2 and CP3-O.  It's made from some black shrinky dinks that I got years ago at Goodwill.  I can never get the stuff to be completely flat.  I almost didn't even put it in the package because it was wonky. :)

that my grandma made, so it's definitely going on my faves list!!
All wonderful goodies!!

and now......

my fab package from teachart!!

She totally spoiled me with such nice projects!!!

Before unwrapping:

And after!

First, I opened an adorable crocheted cloth with a snail on it (one of my favorites)
and a scrubbie (which I can't seem to manage to make myself, even though I love them!)
Next was a wonderful felted tree (look at the great embroidery!) that will definitely be in use
at Christmas, and probably just stay up all year long! {{love}}
and finally::  a great big shopping bag that might just be used for yarn storage so that I
can look at it all the time (yes, my yarn is currently stored in my dining room.....dining is overrated
anyway :)  Love Love LOVE this fabric, Emily!!
Thanks a million -- you were an awesome partner!
(fingers crossed that you'll like your pkg)
Oh, and if you have better pics, please post 'em!

I'm so glad you liked my package! I was a little nervous because I'm new to both sewing and embroidering (the bird tree was my first embroidery project and the bag is only thing I've sewn besides diapers for my son) So thank you for letting me try out a couple of new craft skills on you!

Love my package by the way, will post pics tomorrow.
Thank you thank you!

I received a great package from the lovely karin_  a couple of days ago but haven't been able to post pictures until now.

This really cute wist-inspired totebag that would be perfect for a craft bag.  The polka dot lining is really sweet.

Button stamps!  Again, something wisted from Craftster.  I cannot, of course, find an ink pad anywhere to start playing with them.

An Eddie Izzard purse!  This was a lovely surprise!

I don't do much papercrafting, so it's always great to receive notecards.  I love the "classic cat" pose and the gorgeous papers.  They're on really high quality card.

A bracelet craft kit and a little clay gnome and toadstool!  SO cute!!

And this absolutely stunning piece of felt artwork.  The colours work perfectly together (they're a little washed out here by my camera flash) and it looks like it took forever!!

Thank you SO much for a great package and for being a lovely partner, karin.  I really hope your package reaches you soon!!

This has been a great swap, such amazing packages.  I love the doggy pillow.  A cat one would be amazing!

I'm lovin' all stuff everyone is getting. That tree tote,  the kitty note cards, and the felt tree are awesome.

The doggie pillow, took me a little time to figure out, but I'm not a quilter. After that it was super simple.  I've been playing around with the idea of making a froggy one in the same style. Just need to dig out some green fabric scraps.

So here are pics of my great package from kayrun!
First, a couple of really nice knitted wash clothes. I love the colors!

And some wonderful yoga socks! I absolutely love the wool and the color of these too. I wore these last night during my practice and they felt great. I've been having some foot problems the last couple of months (my poor pinkie toe bones are going crooked) and it's been hard to stand barefoot. Well, these socks provided extra cushion under my arch which seemed to take away some of the strain on my little toes. SO, for the first time in months I was able to do yoga with NO foot pain- and for that kayrun I can't thank you enough!!

Received, Received, Received - a package of such loveliness, that I'm still smiling about it now!!!  It came at the end of last week - but to a few emergencies (like 13 hours wtih no electricity) and parentals 50th wedding anniversary only just posting pics now - sorry Beki, but I LOVE everything!!!

Firstly - I have a total thing for Flamingo's - and check this out ...

SO awesome - my daughter has already tried to snaffle this for herself and been given a firm no!

I love the marvellous Heston Blumenthall - and Beki put together a recipe book of some of his stuff.  Despite the fact I have several of his books, I don't have any of the recipes you included - and I'm SOOO going to try that popping candy cake!!

Some lovely fabric and sequins and sparkles from Beki's stash

And a cute and wonderful bracelet with cakes, goodies and knives and forks on it - you must have tiny fingers Beki cos I don't think I could ever make anything on such a small scale as that - but seriously love it!!!

And finally - I'm afraid I can't post a pic of my favourite thing - the most amazing and fabulous lighthouse cross stitch.  It's just wonderful (I have a total thing for lighthouses as well as flamingos) and I'm in absolute awe of your cross stitching abilities Beki.  I took it to Mum and Dads to show them at the weekend - and Mum is framing it for me as she has a lovely silver frame the perfect size.  I'm really sorry - should have it back by Weds and will post a pic then - or if you have a pic Beki please do post it, cos it's absolutely fab and I love it!!!!!!

Thank you for being a great swap partner and a wonderful organiser - have really enjoyed this swap.

Scarlett xxx

I received the most amazing package from littlebluegirl yesterday!! Soo many goodies!

To start off, here is a group shot. Look at all that stuff!! This shot shows the adorable robot amigurumi (was supposed to be for my nephew, but I don't know if I can part with it!!), wonderful faux bois embroidery, knitted zipper bag, neat button extras, crocheted slippers (these are a little tight on my oaf feet so I might give them as a gift to someone, my mom would love the color!), the AMAZING colorful granny square scarf, and the equally amazing granny square slippers!

Next up, awesome handmade bath stuff! A yummy smelling sugar scrub, pretty soap, and really cool bath "tea bags" that smell divine. I love this idea, I have to take a bath so I can try them out!!

Close up of the little robot! Isn't he adorable??

A shot of my lovely slippers in action! I put them on the moment I unwrapped them, and had them on all evening! Super warm and comfy!

And last but not least, a horribly goofy shot of me wearing my granny scarf! I love this thing!! I had it on all day today in school, and I got lots of compliments. It's so bright and cheery, perfect for fall!

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH LITTLEBLUEGIRL!

I'm with onegroovyday here! I love the granny square slippers. I've resigned myself to the fact that I shall never grasp crochet. I will have to wist them instead!
I like the faux bois embroidery too- is it on woodgrain fabric, or is the woodgrain embroidered?

Title: Re: Buy Nothing Round 5 Swap Gallery!
Post by: littlebluegirl on September 21, 2010 04:27:52 PM
*blush* glad the slippers are well received :) And wisted too - an honour!  Unfortunately, I can't see the photos as I'm on my phone at the moment.

The embroidery uses wood grain fabric, I had a wee bit in my stash and it was funny when I saw the embroidery on karin's wist.

The teabags contain ginger, cinnamon, cardomom, green tea and cloves.

I got received from Cinnamon Teal today and I LOVE everything!  I am in awe of her crafting skills!  First of all, she sent me some large stickers/wall clings from her stash, plus some fabric.  I literally had that skull fabric in my hands at the fabric store a few weeks ago.  The yellow is vintage fabric is from her great aunt's travels to India.

Mixed media art (!) depicting two of the creatures we raise on our farm.  I am thrilled with these and have a brand new shelf that they are going to live on.

Hand made thank you and holiday cards.  How cute are these?

Dog bones for our dogs from her dog Caleb.  Jenna already sampled and gives them a paws up!

A hand carved stamp for our farm!  My husband bought me a huge weeping willow tree for my birthday 3 years ago.  Beavers had carted it off within the first week after planting it.  I am seriously in awe of this, as is my husband.

Does anyone remember the 'The NOT $200 Acorn and Pompom Hat' craftster post from a few months ago?  I thought that was the cutest winter hat I had ever seen and put it on my wist.  Well, I found one in my box in a gorgeous wine color.  I was like... seriously?  I now have one??  I bow to your knitting skills, Cinnamon Teal, and I LOVE the hat.  Thank you thank you thank you so much for everything!

I went a little weak in the knees over the bee art.  I love that piece.

One of these days ( when its tidy) I'll have to post pics of my kitchen.  I have over one hundred gorgeous honey pots and quite a few bee-themed accessories in there.

I rec'd an over the top package from J_Kieviet today.

For my granddaughter she sent a personalized, glittery, totally cute school supply set.  My granddaughter's name is Alisha and everything personalized is spelled Alicia, so she is going to be thrilled with this:

For my daughter Whitney she sent a crocheted skull and cross bones and a pretty and useful hot drink mix roll which will be perfect for her long days at school:

For me she sent a cute little crocheted bee and a very small and very pretty embroidered bird in a hoop.  I just started a hoopla wall ( check out the hoopla swap gallery) so this couldn't be more perfect!:

And for my daughter Tara she sent the cutest monkey you could possibly imagine.  I hope its adorable personality ( it really does have one) shows in the picture:

Thank you so much J_Kieviet.  We sat around the dinner table tonight and opened our little individually wrapped bundles.  It was like having mini-Christmas!

Edit:  Looking at my post, I just realized that the mini hoop is probably a Christmas ornament depicting a partridge in a pear tree.  Oh well, I love it whatever it is and it's already on my hoopla wall and there it will stay :)

glad you liked everything gamemom, my life is still hectic - got called to teach 2 hrs away from home to day, I've been up for 18 hours, so no pics today, perhaps tomorrow, if not, they'll definatly be up after our camping trip.

No problem, I'll go ahead and post them for you and you can mark it off your list.

I decided to do a holiday package for J_Kieviet.

First a few Halloween treats:

Halloween Hot Pads

And a little Halloweeny Hoopla:

Next I made a few Christmasy things for her:

An ornament:

A cross-stitched patch that she can sew onto whatever she wants, or she can attach a hanger and turn this into an ornament too:

A yo-yo doily:

And some kits to do herself ( I didn't buy these, they were passed to me when my Mom quit crafting and just started crocheting all the time)

J said her niece loves to craft so I made her a colorful craft apron:

And I saved my own personal favorite for last ( have no idea if it's her favorite or not).  She said she loved fall, so I made her a personalized fall pin cushion.  It's wonky in the picture.  I knew shipping would put it out of shape, so I didn't bother pushing it into shape very well before I packed it.
