Title: empty thread spools?
Post by: chica on March 09, 2004 06:44:12 AM
I sew a whole lot and now have a decent collection of empty thread spools... Anybody know of anything cool/crafty to do with them?

There are spool dolls.

Carol Duvall recently had a variation on the spool doll with a measuring tape/ rice beanie base to be given away as little sewing kits.

Hmmm ... if you have some wood spools, invite your crafty friends over and have a spool knitting party!!

What a great suggestion!  I had a tube knitting kit when I was a kid (it actually came with a doll, but the knitting was so much more interesting, lol!).  Now to figure out how to use a plastic spool.....

:)
HELLO --
I'm new to this group and I was looking for uses for small wooden spools also... the last reply to this topic was a longggg time ago and I'm hoping someone has some new ideas!

Thanks so much....
(I've now got 3 large jars of spools and was hoping for some Christmas ornament ideas... or SOMETHING!)

Thanks again :-*
